Incorrect resolution after upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1

I have W510 4389-P2G which had 1920x1200 resolution in Windows 7 and 8. After upgrade to Windows 8.1 the monitor became blurry and resolution is now 1920x1080. In Device manager I can see Thinkpad Display 1920x1080 driver. After uninstalling the driver and installing newest drivers for W510 and restarting (I also tried drivers for W500) the result is always 1920x1080. What can I do to solve the problem?

My W510 has always been 1920x1200 until I intalled Windows 8.1
Now, the screen is blurry with less vertical space and resolution 1920x1080
Apparently there are other W510 1920x1200 out there:

Scanner of HP 8500 A909g does not work after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10

After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and subsequent upgrade of printer software, the scanner functionality did not work. When I tried to uninstall the printer software I got the message "HP uninstaller has stopped working". After another upgrade of printer software the scanner was still not working. Not sure whether it is possible to uninstall, though (don't want to try since it is working).

I had the same problem with my Officejet Pro 8600 All-in-One scanner, sfter upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver, the problem is solved. You can look up the model of your printer on HP's support site and download it from there. Apparently, not all printers are compatible with Windows 10. In that case, they recommend you buy a new printer. ;-)

Windows 8.1 RDP crashes very frequently after upgrade from Windows 8

I installed Windows 8.1 EE x64 as upgrade from Windows 8 EE x64 on my personal computer. After that RDP crashes very frequently.

I cant access any printers, not even the virtual printers.
What I would do is use ProcMon to find out why that Event entry was written. Then I imagine I would get a clue about a .dll which might be involved, which hopefully might be registerable. Since IE9 there have been new .dll involving printing
which have not been reflected in any of our repair tools. However, instead of modifying our old scripts to reflect this fact, I have been advocating, so far unsuccessfully, that Microsoft create a proper IE Repair tool, one which does not rely on such
unreliable techniques. E.g. a better method of repairing would be to have it done by a proper troubleshooter (an .msdt file) but so far it seems nothing has been done in that way for these symptoms (again, assuming the cause is registry corruption
and not simple interference from now incompatible third-party programming--the fix for that would be to identify and remove the incompatibilities.) For example.

You can also try to install the older version in compatible mode:

Click the Change adapter settings link in the upper left of the navigation pane.
Right click the network connection you want to enable/disable power management support on and click Properties .

HI I am using HP 2000 Notebook PC with serial number 5CG3245C1C and product number D9H41PA#ACJ. Recently i updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Evertything is working fine with nice speed but only issue with bluetooth , i cant see bluetooth in my system. so can any one please help me with the issue.

Bluetooth issue after upgrading from windows 8.1 to windows 10

i upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10 , The experience was really nice and windows 10 work beautifully of my system. But the only thing is i am not able to find Bluetooth in my system. May be some driver issue. I have troubleshooted many times but the problem as not been solved . So any one can please help me on this.

Sound drops off after 15 minutes after upgrading from windows 7 to Windows 8.1.

I upgraded my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Then, from Windows 8 to Wimdows 8.1. When playing a Movie I've downloaded from iTunes it plays normally for a good while. Then, after 15 minuites or so the sound drops off. If I close and reopen iTunes it plays again for about the same time. I had to do that five or six times to get through a movie. I've tried installing the latest sound drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the latests iTunes with no luck fixing the issue. I have my PC connected to my TV via HDMI cable. Any suggestions?

You could download and install the trial version of Photoshop Elements 12.
For your serial number, try this:-
Go to Adobe.com and there should be a button to Manage account - click on that and sign in with your Adobe Id.
Click on View All under Plans & Products
Click on View other products
After a short while, you should see your Photoshop Elements appear and you can expand it to see your serial number.
The serial number can be entered into the trial version to activate it.

No internet connection after upgrade from windows 8 to windows 8.1

I have upgraded my operating system from windows 8 to windows 8.1, I also updated windows 8.1 after the system upgrated. I found there is no access to internet, although I have full wifi signal. I tried to conncet to the router via ethnet cable, but it still has no internet connection. However, I can see other computers at homenet via wifi. I have seen some questions in the Forum regarding wifi failure after upgrating to windows 8.1, and I tried to uninstall all my drivers (LAN and wireless) of network adapter, and re-install the latest drivers from HP website at http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-Sleekbook-15-b000/5296234/model/5311051#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1(I tried the Ralink ones as I remembered the old drivers are Ralink), but it does not work. I have read your post on your HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b052ea and Windows 8.1 causing issues for you when trying to connect to the wireless. Try opening Device Manager, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. In Device Manager, locate the network adapter, and then double-click the device name. Click the Driver tab, and then uninstall everything in the list except the Realtek and the Ralink. Remove any USB devices and Ethernet cables that are connected. Restart the computer. After you restart the computer, please use the HP Support Assistant. The HP Support Assistant has a wireless connectivity troubleshooting tool inside. Here is a screen shot of the Internet and Security tool that will help you diagnose Internet Connectivity. Issues with SharePoint 2013 after upgrading from windows 2012 to 2012 r2

We have a Sharepoint with Sp1 environment on windows 2012. Recently we upgraded the windows 2012 to 2012 r2. After the upgrade sharepoint environment is completely unstable.
At first all the sites returned 401 errors. After resolving by resetting the object cache accounts the sites are back.
Then i see that none of the performance point dashboards work. I figured that claims to windows token service is defaulted to local system account. I previously configured with a domain account. I reconfigured to work with domain account.
All the dashboard pages throw error.
Some Error logs:Failed to get document content data. System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): Cannot complete this function at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSqlClient.GetDocumentContentRow
Application error when access /Dashboards/Performance Dashboard/Main.aspx, Error=The EnableScriptGlobalization property cannot be changed during async postbacks or after the Init event. at System.Web.UI.ScriptManager.set_EnableScriptGlobalization(Boolean

4. I tried to create a new dashboard and this time the performancepoint designer wont launch. After some troubleshooting i see that c2w host file didnot have the caller C:\Program Files\Windows Identity Foundation\v3.5.
I added <add value="WSS_WPG" /> and now it launches
5. Now the Dashboard launches and peruser identity works without having kerberos enabled at IIS. I have all the spn and required delegations setup for this url . But i did not configure at the IIS level
yet.
It looks like lot of things got messed up and reset. Can we upgrade to windows 2012 r2 with a sharepoint application inplace. what is the recommended approach and Whats happening with Performancepoint dashboards. IS there a known issue with sharepoint 2013
