Incorrect search

I often get problems with seraching for documents. A simple search does not return correct results
In order to find my document I need to use ALL FILES in Finder and search there.
It is not convenient.

I can save the search but do not understand the "use it" suggestion.
The saved search does not show what kind of filtering I used  - it is just a list of search results.
WHen searching anew, the only option is to find a word in the filename or anywhere (inside the file)
Besides: the folder "Saved Searches" is hidden deep in the hierarchy of Mac (there is another folder in Office too, with the same name)
I searched for it and it contains nothing. Zilch. Nada.  Although my saved searches should be there.
I asked what improvement is there with Mountain LION- or I will have to return to my WIndows computer.

  • MDC error message -  'incorrect search policy'

Having re-installed Mountain Lion on my MDC and Clients and NOT deleted any Xsan Sys Prefs and KeyChain passwords, finally managed to get all my clients Authorized OK.
Then attached my Retina Display MBP through a Thunderbolt to FC convertor box (Promise SanLink) to the FC switch ... the RetDisp MDC mounts the SAN Vol just fine and can read and write to it OK (terrific being able to attached 28TB of fast FC storage to my MBP!) ... however, on the MacMini MDC now get an error message for the RetDisp MBP saying 'incorrect search policy' for the laptop.
Blaidd Drwg has already supplied in the previous thread a link to a useful Apple KB article which I'll share here:
    "Incorrect search policy": http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3888
I am using XSAN to manage accounts and log-ins and not Open Directory ... will see if this fixes the problem.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3888
This KB fixed the problem .... you have to change the search directories on the client not on the MDC ... then it's fixed straight away on the MDC.
Being able to have my RetDisp MBP laptop access the FC XSAN volume is sweet! .. running Resolve 9 on it and grading 5k EPIC files is pretty amazing .. Thunderbolt to HD SDI BMD box and into a calibrated reference monitor to give accurate colors plus Tbolt RedRocket card in Sonnet enclosure .. unreal.
Nesxt step .. adding a Win 7 PC through StorNext FX2 ... should be fun :-)

    Any ideas?

I believe this still applies even though you're on Xsan 3.

  • Incorrect Search results number

    Hi!
I'm currently working at search center and recently I've noticed that the number of search results in "About xx results" can vary a a lot.
I've found the similar question here: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/154/t/204676.aspx - the given answer seemed good untill I tried to check the logic and to calculate results count in my test environment.
So, I have 45 total results. One of this results has duplicate. The results are shown by 10 per page. The duplicated results is shown at the first page. If I click on the next pages, I see the following (Im sorry for this clip2net logo, this is not an advertising:)
     about 41
     about 43
    about 44
     44 results total
I can't get, why it shows 41 and even 43 on the first 2 pages, while there is only 1 duplicate that might be hidden...
Please help me to understand this logic.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Martynenko,
I understand that the results count is incorrect in SharePoint Search Results web part.
It is by design that the number on search result web part is a very rough number related to the mechanism within search engine.
It is not accurate because the accurate count of the
search result is not the main target for
    search engine.
If we need the accurate number of some specific type of files, we can use the
SharePoint search APIs to get the
search result, and this is same as the result from web part.
    http://spbreed.wordpress.com/2013/09/14/sharepoint-2013-solution-to-inconsistent-search-results-count/
Or you can set the query to include the duplicates.
    Best regards.

  • Incorrect Search Results

We have a PDF file of 1 page created through SAP (ERP Application). The PDF has a name "AD" which is displayed and printed. When we search the PDF using search option for name "ZZ", it gives the search results by selecting name "AD". Also, the PDF is sent to Blackberry device of "AD" with details of "ZZ".
This is similar to mirror image but I have no idea as to how to view this.

  • Incorrect Search results in MM03 transaction code

    Hi,
We have a material description as follows
    CLOS-ScrwCap Multi Laun 33mmPPLndDGTOrg
When we try to do material search in MM03 with
I : Material by material Type
    Material Type : VERP
    Material Description : crwapultiaunmmnd*rg
We are getting the materials using the match code. Here we used only lower case letters of material description.
II : Material by MRP Type
    Material Type : VERP
    Material Description : closscrw
The result is No Values for the selection
Here we have used closscrw but does not work.
Can anyone please provide solution for why it is not working in search by MRP Type? Are there any SAP notes available for this issue?
    Regards,
    S.Sankar

    Hi,
In your first example 9the one that is working, you are using lower case characters and searching and finding the same characters in lower case.
In the second example the search includes some characters that are in upper case on the material description.
It is possible to configure the search functions to ignore case.
I will have a dig around and find the exact option you need .

  • Incorrect Search Results in Acrobat Reader 9.2.0

Anybody ever see this? I'm searching for a word in my pdf, in this case the word "sport". When I click for the results the reader can't find the word, but instead it takes me to other words that are not even close to "sport" like "descision", or a number, even a hyphen ( - ). At first I though it was a problem with the PDF but every other computer in my office can search the same PDF with no problems; when you search for "sport" it takes you to the first instance of "sport". I've uninstalled adobe reader and reinstalled with the latest version, but i still have the same problem. What is happening here?

    Good morning,
I have exactly the same problem. I use Acrobat Reader 9.4.0 and when I search for a word it takes me to other words or symbols that are not related to the word at all.
Nonetheless, when I perform a search with Adobe Standard 6.0 on the same document the search works OK.
Is adobe working to correct this huge problem?

  • Incorrect search results in CRM2007

    Hi
When i search for service contracts in the new UI, i specify the search criteria - status 'In Process'
However the search result displays the contracts which have status In process, completed etc.
Has anyone come across this issue and knows how to solve this ?
Any helpful answers will be rewarded

    Nick,
I have come across a similar thing in CRM 5.0 where the Agent Inbox ignored the Status.  It was an error in the status mapping configuration.  I also know that in CRM 5.0 the Inbox search logic was applied to the Account Overview to generate the results.
It's a long shot, but it may well be that the specific searches in CRM 2007 use the Agent Inbox search logic, and that you need to maintain the status mapping for the Agent Inbox to correct this issue.
This is available here (transaction SPRO, IMG):
SAP Implementation Guide > Customer Relationship Management > Interaction Center WebClient > Agent Inbox > Map Item Attributes to Inbox Attributes > Map Element Status to Inbox Status
    Hope this helps, thanks!

  • Account assignment search help in SC.

We currently implement stand-alone scenario and looking for solution how to maintain account assignment data in EBP. As far as I know account assignment data managed in back-end system and not replicated into EBP.
We would like to manage account assignment data in EBP in Z-table. This table required to have F4-search for WBS-elements in SC transaction.
So the question is how to create F4-search based on Z-table. Can BADI BBP_F4_READ_ON_ENTRY help me to resolve this issue? It seems like this BADI does not work in SC transaction.

  • Use of additional fields win IC Winclient BP Search

    Hi
I’m trying to use the HOUSE_NUM2 field in structure CCMSEARCH_STRUCT to search for a BP in the IC Win Client (CIC0) in CRM.
I can get the HTML page to pass the field back to CCMSEARCH_STRUCT, but after several dynamic function calls the program ends up calling FM BAPI_BUPA_SEARCH which does not have the field HOUSE_NUM2 as an input parameter.
Is it possible to configure the search to call an FM that uses that field as well? (without repairing the SAP code)
    I have followed these steps:
    1) Copied O_ISU_BPFINDER_BUTTON to ZO_ISU_BPFINDER_BUTTON, changed the HTML and re-imported it.
The changes were to remove some fields (ie IBASE components) and add the new input field HOUSE_NUM2.
Here is the relevant HTML tag:
    <TR>
      <TH align=left  width=28%><!%%STREET_NO%></TH>
         <TD width=72%><NOBR>
           <INPUT name=HOUSE_NUM1 size=6 maxLength=10 type=TEXT/PLAIN>
           <INPUT name=STREET size=25 maxLength=60 type=TEXT/PLAIN>
           <INPUT name=HOUSE_NUM2 size=6 maxLength=10 type=TEXT/PLAIN>
              </NOBR></TD></TR>
    2) I have copied the entries for O_ISU_BPFINDER_BUTTON in transaction CRMC_CIC_SEARCH_CNTR and ensured that the followin entry is there:
    ZO_ISU_BPFINDER_BUTTON     CCMADDRESSFIELDS  HOUSE_NUM2     X
    3) I have created a new search profile in transaction CRMC_CIC_SEARCH_RULE with the following setttings:
HTML for BP Search = ZO_ISU_BPFINDER_BUTTON
         Under priorities: CCMADDRESSFIELDS     CCMCS_ADDR_SEARCH_CONTROL     1
(This is the only relevant entry from what I can tell in Debug mode)
Everything else works, and I can see the relevant data being passed to SAP, but by the time the actual search takes place in BAPI_BUPA_SEARCH HOUSE_NUM2 is not available as a search parameter.
I have searched these forums and come across a couple of threads that seems to imply that it should just work if I follow these steps, but I can only assume that I am using an incorrect search Function Module
    Thanks for your help
    Regards Esti

    Hi Siva
What is the transaction to look at this query?  I have not seen any evidence that the program accesses this query, but it is worth having a look I guess.
The sequence of Function calls are:
    CCMCS_BP_SEARCH_RULES
    CCMCS_BP_SEARCH_CONTROL
    CCMCS_BP_ADDR_SEARCH2
    CCMCS_BP_SEARCH2
(Up to this point it uses structure CCMADDRESSFIELDS, and has accesss to HOUSE_NUM2)
    Then it calls BAPI_BUPA_MAIN
It might be that I will have to repair CCMCS_BP_SEARCH2 in the end, but I'd like to be sure that it is my only option, as I do not want to change SAP standard code unnecessarily.
    Cheers
    Esti

But in my case if one of the column used for search is a drop down selection and other column is a normal text box i am not getting correct results the results are only shown for dropdown search and the text box results are not shown.
Can anyone suggest what am i missing here?

no ignore null values field is checked.

  • RH8 HTML: WebHelp on Mac OSX cuts off search pane

    Hi,
I generate Webhelp using a skin.
It looks fine on the PC in IE7 and Firefox 3.5.8.
On Mac OS 10.4 using Safari or Firefox (latest versions), the text that is at the top of the search pane is cut off by the search results pane.
Here is how the search pane looks in browsers on the PC (correct):
And here is how it looks in FF and Safari on the Mac (incorrect - "Search results per page" and checkbox are covered by lower results pane):
Is there some way to prevent this from happening on the Mac? I need to produce a single webhelp file that can be viewed using both platforms.
    Thanks for info,
    Jeanne

    Praful,
Your solution worked perfectly! Thanks you so much for your very quick reply.
Another fix is also required (to fix a similar problem on the Index pane)
In the same folder, edit the file whidhtml.htm and change:
    if (gbMac)
      strWrite="<FRAMESET ROWS='60,100%' framespacing=0  frameborder=0>";
I just have to add that I am absolutely amazed at the quick reply I received after filing this as a bug report.
    Sincerely,
    Jeanne
