"Incorrect Signature" for Facebook App

Hi all
Just bought a Nokia E71 and downloaded the Facebook application through OVI. However, having tried to run it (and after having found where the damn thing even installed to), I've hit a wall. When I put in my sign-in, it comes back "Incorrect Signature". I think it's got something to do with the connection protocol. Does anyone else have this application working on a Nokia? Is there a way I can tell this particular program to use a different connection? 'Chat' asks what connection type I want to make (MMS, Internet, WAP, etc.), but the Facebook App has no option for this that I can find.

Firefox stopped working for facebook apps. Will not allow apps (Farmville) etc to connect to facebook. Can't post to feed as the share interface won't connect.

Push Notification for Facebook App is Not Working Help?

i went to general settings and everything was set to "ON" but it ONLY gives me notifications sometimes..i had a glitch for my Facebook app and was having problems so I decided to uinstall and reinstall and after reinstalling, the push notification seems to ONLY work sometimes and not often anymore. What could be causing this? a malware/infection for iPhone or what could be causing this?

Try first to check your facebook account settings--> notification tab.
Try to remove any app like IM or MSN that use facebook messages from the facebook account setting page.
you can also download facebook messanger app. if you create a US account i.e. put a fake US address.

i want the 200 mb plan for my iphone and wanted to know if instead of using safari i can use apps such as facebook or tumblr without using up my data. i got the asnwer that i can avoid that by using wi-fi, but how does that whole thing work?

It sounds as if you don't really understand what "using data" means. Data is not something different from WiFi and 3G, it's something sent over WiFi and 3G. Think of data as water and WiFi and 3G as types of pipes. Some apps need to send and receive data to work. That data can be sent or received in different ways. It can be sent over WiFi or 3G. Both official iPhone carriers in the U.S. have metered data plans. It's sounds as if you're talking about AT&T's 200 mb data plan. WiFi is not provided by your cellular carrier. You can have WiFi from your Internet Service Provider at home or you can access free WiFi at places like McDonalds or Starbucks or paid WiFi at places like airports.

By third party I mean apps like Facely or other apps for facebook that weren't made by facebook.
Just search the App Store for facebook apps, then read the specs and see which ones may have a larger backwards compatibility that will work for your device.
If you can't find one you can still access facebook at www.facebook.com and use safari.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Social tab for facebook

Apple needs to be made aware of the "Social Tab for Facebook" app- this company has been able to send out an "update" needed and the program has NEVER been downloaded in the first place!!!! Once you go to update it- you receive a reply about being unable to update. Well even apple makes it that you are suppose to contact the company direct to complain- well they want you to sign in and since your a new person you would have to become a new member-etc. So please APPLE do something about this, it shows up as an app that needs to be updated and won't go away!!!

IOS6 Notifications in Facebook Messenger vs. Facebook.app

I disabled push notificaitons inside the Facebook.app for messages, hoping that they would appear with a badge + alert on the Facebook Messenger.app instead.
However, this is not the case...
The badge is upadated for Facebook.app, and nothing happens if I don't have the Facebook Messenger.app window open.
Is this normal? Or is there something wrong with iOS 6?

I moved the enable notifications sliders of both apps off and then on, which seems to have fixed the problem.

No, incorrect. The inbox is an *off line* folder, just as it is on a computer. Once you download the email from the server, it is in your iPod/computer and you can access it when you like.

hello, the addons manager is exactly the right place to look for it. please try disabling the addons that are listed there one-by-one (a restart of the browser might be necessary after each step). maybe one of them is bundling this kind of adware.

N97 OVI facebook error - Incorrect signature, stat...

I have had my n97 for about 2 weeks now and I have not been able to use the facebook application (from ovi) at all. I am with Optus and can access facebook via the web (Optus Zoo), however I cannot use the actual Nokia facebook application.
Whenever I try to access the application it takes me to the log-in screen for facebook, and once I have entered my username and password it thinks for a few seconds and then tells me: "Error occurred. Incorrect signature, status: 104"
I have looked through forums on the web and it seems like it is a pretty common problem for the Nokia phone. Everything I have read in various forums has lead me to believe that Nokia don't know how to fix the problem either, or just don't care.
I am getting really, really, really frustrated with it. I am pretty addicted to facebook and love playing facebook games. I am dieing to kill some time during my commute by playing some games, and because I can't use the proper application, it would seem I can't play the games.
Can anyone please tell me if hey had this problem and were able to fix it? Did you have to get in touch with Nokia? Were they any help?
The forums seem to show that people have been advised to remove the application and reinstall and to clear their cache/browsing history. However, I haven't come across anyone yet where this has actually helped the problem. I haven't come across a single person yet who can actually use the facebook application either.
I am starting to get really annoyed and if I can't use the phone/applications in the way that is intended/expected soon, I will be kicking up a pretty big stink!! :-)

I purchased my N97 later last year, and I can tell you right now there has been very little improvements. It's almost going in a backwards direction. I have had problems with facebook widget on numerous accounts which resulted in uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Now I cannot even install Facebook as a widget anymore. You can also tell from the reviews from the OVI store that is happening more frequently to other users everyday.
I saw that you were suggested to use third party applications to enjoy facebook, but that is not what you had paid for. I did like to use the Nokia phones (which I started a couple of years ago with the N95) and was excited to see the new N97 come out as a competitor to the Iphone, but has certainly not been the case. I am one for being against the Iphone, but there is no competition there. Also the new HTC phones are certainly alot better than what everyone has been dealing with when they purchased the N97. Nokia and OVI have been doing a horrible job at keeping up with the market.
With all that being said, I saw that you are new to the N97. Well I guess I will point out the upsets with the phone before you have to learn about them yourself. Under the contacts there is a facebook option, and the first thing I though was that it could sync up like the HTC phones. Well it doesn't. I really don't know why Nokia included that into their update to v.21. On the web for the phone any website that is far too large or taking too long will just exit on you and send you back to the homescreen. With Maps, eventhough the numerous updates and Nokia trying to keep it alive, you might as well download Google Maps. It not only loads faster, but keeps businesses and all the different activities updated alot more than what the Nokia maps does. Games are absolutely terrible from the OVI marketplace. They are expensive and very outdated compared to other markets out there. Make sure you read reviews before you purchase anything.
Besides that very large paragraph filled with issues you're stuck with a pretty good touch phone, which is all your left with. Well, the FM transmitter is pretty cool if your listening to music in the car. Other than it's is a pretty standard phone. So I'm sorry for your disappointment, but with this phone and marketplace there are certainly more to come. I know I'm not the only one out there when they say that if things dont turn around soon it will certainly be the last Nokia phone I purchase.

Okay, I found the answer myself. Going to about:config and setting browser.showQuitWarning to true, restored that option and brought it back. Thanks to anyone who is about to post. If this is false by default, it has got to change.
