Incorrect space remaining figure?
I have a first generation iPod Touch. I made a smart playlist for music needs. Whenever I sync the iPod, the space bar shows that I have (let's say) 2.33GB left. If I raise the smart list size by even 1GB, I get a message that says there is not enough room to complete the sync. What gives? I should be able to put an additional 2GB on there!
Hi,
The only thing i can suggest is that the sofware put on the ipod does take some memory, so for example, if you have a 8gb ipod touch, when you first plug it into itunes, the memory does show as around 7 3/4gb. (this is down to the software) However, if your memory bar shows at least 3gb remaining, it should sync, and i would report the problem to Apple.
Hope i have helped

Creative Cloud incorrect space remaining
Hello
My CC storage is empty (archive empty too), but it shows 4.2GB in use. What to do?
Thanks.Hi!
I've had the same problem since signing up a couple of weeks ago. Started after I failed to sync a big file. After deleting all items in all locations (computers and online) the app still claims I've used 20% of my disc quota.
No help via chat support, just endless cue and transferes to wrong departments.
No response at forum. And can't find a phone number to adobe support in my country, this is a small problem causing me more and more frustration.
Staff, please look into this! -
Mac and Windows showing different hard drive space remaining?
Hello Guys,
I am using my 1tb hard drive with mac and windows and while checking the space remaining, my mac says roughly 600gb left and my windows comp. says about 500gb left. I am just wondering which one of the storage remaining statements is correct and why they both show different numbers (by 100gb)? If it helps, this also happens to my 16gb flash drive. mac says 10 gb left, and windows says less space left (dont remember actual number, but was roughly 6-8).
Just asking becuase I want to know why such a big difference in size remaining. Could it have to do with the way each OS sees what defines the harddrive as full?
if it matters, my hdd format is MS-DOS (FAT32).
Thanks a lot,
krm1897haha its been 2 years. And no, i didn't figure it out, but i speculate it may have to do how Mac OSX and Windows reads the FAT file system (my tb hdd was FAT formatted so i could use it on both OS) and calculates remaining space.
That may be right, or it may be completely wrong lol

N82 camera - images remaining figure
I'm running out of memory space so have deleted loads of photos via the gallery viewer but the images remaining figure is not going down. Any ideas??
Message Edited by davej on 09-Jan-2010 10:50 AMConnect your phone to the PC, using the File Transfer / Mass Memory option, then browse onto the memory card and search in Images for the _PalbTN folder. There are the photo thumbnails, just delete them and it should fix your problem.

No space remaining on hard drive
My wife's MacBook Unibody (late 2008) is having a recurring hard drive problem where some program or utility is consuming nearly all available space on the internal drive.
The computer's original configuration is as follows:
2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (2 cores)
4GB DDR-3 1066MHz RAM (2 X 2GB SODIMMs)
160GB SATA Hard Drive
OS X 10.5 (Leopard) + any updates to that version
Following the advice of Apple Care and a knowledgable friend who's also a MacBook user we updated the operating system to the newest version of OS-X, Mountain Lion.
I also updated the hardware to best compliment the newer version of OS X. I recently upgraded the memory to 8GB and installed an 80GB Corsair SSD with the latest firmware. Both seemed to alleviate the issue of performance and my wife stated that she perceived a big increase in performance from the original hardware.
She's also using an external USB Hard Drive, 1.5TB Seagate with a dedicated AC power adaptor, for her time machine backups. She also uses this as her storage drive for any files larger than 1GB. So all that remains on her internal drive, the 80GB SSD, are the OS and installed programs. After the initial setup of Mountain Lion she had over 30GB of space remaining on that drive with no apparent problems.
The problem has occurred again, consuming all user-available space on the internal SSD. There aren't any other programs, applications or utilities that we can see to account for the loss of usable sapce.
Could this be a bug within the NVIDIA MCP79MXT-B2 Chipset? We did use a program to determine what was taking up the space, but it appeared to be some glitch that was writing multiple gigabytes of log file entries. Without an alternative solution we've just been identifying and deleting these every couple of months. We're uncertain whether its a hardware, firmware or software problem that's writing these log files that are invisible to OS-X's build in file management system. If it weren't for a free 3rd party app, cannot recall the name at the moment, then we wouldn't be able to see and delete these log files - rendering the computer unusable.

Clearfloat problem-extra space remains in IE
Hi,
I've worked on this problem, did the Google thing, but I just
can't resolve it. There is extra space remaining under the image
even after using clearfloat. I want the bottom border to snug up to
the bottom of the image, but somehow in IE I keep getting that
horrible gray space.
Main
page-with troublesome space below before footer
Thanks so much for helping... as always!
Cheers,
JanellI don't see an extra space problem related to floats in IE6
but I do see a
gray png background image under the spash-text. Pre-IE7
browsers do not
support alpha transparency on png images. If you get rid of
the bg image,
you'll see better results in IE. Or do a search for IE
conditional comments
or the IE star hack to serve a different image to pre-IE7
browsers.

The dialog box, indicating remaining disk space on your hard drive located at the bottom of the finder window is gone in OS 10.8. How does one keep an eye on how much space remains on the hard drive or any external device for that matter?
Under Finder > View > Show View Options there should be a checkbox called "Show item info" However, these details (including free space on each drive) are displayed beneath each item on your desktop, not in a discrete window at the bottom of the screen.
If that's no longer there in Mt. Lion, then do Get Info on the drive(s) you want to see details about. -
HELP! "Insufficient Disk Space Remaining in the Capture Scratch"?!
Please Help Me ASAP!
im not like lierally dieing but i do need help urgently with Final Cut!
I am trying to capture my video from the camera and the message pops up that says "Insufficient Disk Space Remaining in the Capture Scratch".
So I have 2 questions:
1) What does it mean
2) What do I do to fix it?
im cluless here guys! any input asap would be so greatly appreciated! thanks
BenIt means that you do not have sufficiant space on your scratch disk to capture your video.
What have you designated as your scratch disk? Which drive? Get Info on that drive to see how much space you have available. When you Capture, your Capture Window will give you info on how much space your drive has, and how much video (in time) you put on it
The solution is to get more space. Like clearing stuff off your drive or getting a new one
If you are capturing video to your system drive, in other words, this is your scratch disk, this is not reccomended. Designate another drive, either internal or firewire external as your scratch disk.
For more info on the scratch disk and how to target it, consult your FC manual and online help -
Insuffiecient dis space remaining in the Capture Scratch message.
Adding insult to injury, I'm now getting the message, "Insuffiecient dis space remaining in the Capture Scratch" when I try to capture a clip which is 00:03:47:00. I have more than 700 gig available on the external drive, which is where my capture scratch resides.
Wouldn't it be great to get over this hurdle, so I can get on with my day.
DGFigured it out. I had typed 1000000 in the minimun open space field. I'm still saving for the external drive.

Insufficient disk space remaining in the capture scratch
I’m using a PowerBook G4, 1.25GHz processor with 2 GB DDR SDRAM whit Final Cut Express version 3.5.1. I tried to capture footage from my camera and received a message, “insufficient disk space remaining in the capture scratch.” I moved all the files: Audio render files, Autosave vault, Capture scratch, etc to a new folder on my desk top, but still get the same message when I try to capture. To capture, I click the play button on the screen; hit the mark in button at the point I want to start and the mark out button at the end. Then I click the clip button followed by the ok button on the log clip dialogue box. The program then goes through what I assume to be the capturing process leading to the error message. How do I overcome this? Thank you.
Hi Geoffemn
The solution is to buy an external hard disk. Save the files to that. It does nothing to move the files from AV or scratch disk to a folder on the desk top. It still uses the same amount of space on the Power Book's HD. Of course you can look over current files on the HD and delete ones not needed. But that's a temporary fix. Large HD's have come way down in cost per GB. Go buy one. It should run at a speed of at least 7200 RPM and have firewire.

please give me what can i do to resolve this problem. thanksHi,
The solution is to use the boot buffersize size configuration command in order to increase the size of the simulated NVRAM. The configuration file cannot be larger than the buffer size allocation. The range is from 4096 to 524,288 bytes.
The boot buffersize command simulates a larger NVRAM.

Insufficent disk space remaining in capture scratch
Hi all,
I am capturing for a small project off dvcam. I have run into a problem where I am unable to capture more material, I am getting an error message and the
prompt: insufficent disk space remaining in capture scratch .
what does this mean and how do I free up space? I have 100 gb left on my external drive, so I don't get it...
Grateful for advice.
LOFTurn off any limiting of file size you may have checked on in the scratch disk settings, and also be sure it's that external drive that is selected as your scratch disk.
The external drive you have also must be formatted Mac OS Extended.

PR CS6 Incorrectly Shows Remaining HD Space
In Premiere CS 6 on Mac, no matter which hd I set as the scratch disk it doesn't update the remaining space available.
For instance on my main hd, in PR CS6 it shows only 167.8 gb available when I have over 400 gb available.

Creative Cloud Desktop App Shows Incorrect Free Space Remaining
Hello,
I have a technical issue with my creative cloud account. My CC desktop application (Windows) shows as having 46.7% of the available space used, and at present I have no files stored or in my creative cloud archive. Something is definitely amiss!
Thanks,
-Jon@randyc - Please provide more details. Are you still seeing the "Out of storage" message?
If so we need the log files for desktop sync (CoreSync). The location for each OS are:
Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/CoreSync-yyyy-mm-dd.log
Windows: %APPDATA%/Adobe/CoreSync/CoreSync-yyyy-mm-dd.log
Note that on Mac OS X to see the user library from the Finder click on the Go menu and hold down the Alt/ Option key. Note that on Windows %APPDATA% is a variable that will change to the correct path depending on if version of Windows being used. -

Thanks,
TLooking at the output of dir /all, I think the nvram is nearly full with only 5 bytes remaining. May be that is the reason you receive this error.
I would suggest you to clean up your nvram and load the required config. But make sure that the contents of the nvram can be deleted. So, you better make a backup of your nvram.
