Incorrect time offset settings for Russian time zones

I'm putting new USC blade servers to production. I've discovered that if I set correct time zone for my city ( "Asia/Yekaterinburg (Moscow+02 Urals)" ), the time shown in USC Manager is one hour behind the actual time. It seems that this bug is related to any Russian time zone. For example, if I select Novosibirsk time zone (Asia/Moscow+3), the system shows correct time for my city, which is one hour behind Novosibirsk time.
USC Manager version is 2.1(1a) (the latest version available for download from Cisco site). The system is set to obtain correct time from NTP server which is local Windows domain controller (which, in turn, syncronizes its time from Internet NTP server).
Switching between summer and winter time in Russia was cancelled two or three years ago. I suspect that Cisco programmers are simply unaware of this fact.

Modify Ethernet driver settings for a local zone of exclusive ip-type

Hi there
A quick one. Have configured a local zone with ip-type set to exclusive for a physical interface fjgi1. How can I modify the fjgi driver settings for this local zone?
Should I edit /platform/SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise/kernel/drv/fjgi.conf under the global zone and reboot the global zone, or create and edit a new config file in the local zone and reboot it?

Driver settings like this are shared by all zones. So you'd need to make the change in the global zone.

Current best practice for Time service settings for Hyper-V 2012 R2 Host and guest OS's

I am trying to find out what the current best practice is for Time service settings in a Hyper-V 2012 environment. I find conflicting information. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have found some different sources (links below) but again the

From the first link provided by Brian, it does state that the time service should be off, but then the update changes that statement. Still best to rely on the first link in the OP - it was written by the guy that has been responsible for much of what
gets coded into Hyper-V, starting from before there ever was a Hyper-V. I'd say that's a pretty reliable source.
Time service
For virtual machines that are configured as domain controllers, it is recommended that you disable time synchronization between the host system and guest operating system acting as a domain controller. This enables your guest domain controller to synchronize
time from the domain hierarchy.
To disable the Hyper-V time synchronization provider, shut down the VM and clear the Time synchronization check box under Integration Services.
Note
This guidance has been recently updated to reflect the current recommendation to synchronize time for the guest domain controller from only the domain hierarchy, rather than the previous recommendation to partially disable time synchronization between the
host system and guest domain controller.

Time capsule settings for ADSL

no doubt you get this alot, but here goes....
Im in Australia with an iMac (2005) plus a Time Capsule with a speedstream 4200 modem(optusnet) in bridge mode plugged inline.
I have set up the modem prior with settings from my new and current supplier (Dodo) and the speedstream works fine as a standard ADSL modem. I then reset the modem to full bridge mode, so that I can relocate the ADSL settings to the Time Capsule to act as the modem/router. it's this step Im having trouble with. I know it can be done as I've previously done it with Optusnet at another location.
Dodo say that the only setting I should need to put into a modem is:
VPI 8
VCI 35
[email protected]
PPPoe
I cannot find how/where to put the info in, or if im putting it in the right place.

1. Download 5.6 for Lion.

2. Download and install unpkg.

Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
Go to the internet page of the airport utility and choose pppoe client.

Find time offset from GMT using time zone

Is there any way i can query the time offset from GMT using the timezone of a place.
E.g. If I am in India
My TZNAME is 'Asia/Calcutta' and TZABBREV='IST'
How can i get the time offset from GMT for this timezone?
In this case I want +5:30 as the result.

What is the best way to match clip and sequence settings for real-time editing?

I am a long time FCP user and trying to make the After Effects workflow a little smoother by utilizing the Adobe suite.
One of the most valuable things I miss about FCP is that when I drop a clip in a blank sequence (no matter what the settings of the seq) it will ask if I want to match the settings of the clip. This ensures that no rendering is required to quickly edit the video in real-time.
Is there a plugin or function in Premiere CS4 that I am missing that will afford me this feature? Currently i am doing everything I can to match the clip settings when creating a sequence, but sadly i'm still having to render the timeline to preview the edit.

And in CS4, if there is not a matching Preset, you can choose the Desktop Preset, which will allow you to customize nearly every attribute to match your source footage. The name is a bit of a misnomer, but has been around for a long time. I would have called it the "Custom Preset," but Adobe never called.

Correct project settings for Brinno time lapse cameras?

I am totally new to all this so please forgive if an obvious answer. I have been doing a building project time lapse using some time lapse cameras by Brinno. They are the TLC200's (http://www.brinno.com/html/TLC200.html). I am about to start a new project to put together the final timelapse but have no idea what type project settings to start it as. They claim to record in 1280x720 HD and output a raw avi file of the time lapse sequence after filming (each frame i think is captured as jpeg). You pre set the number of frames it takes (eg 1 every 30 minutes like I have) and what frame rate it puts the sequence of individuale captures together and outputs to the avi file (I choose 10 fps). That is all the informatoin I have. Any ideas?

Time Machine settings for multiple drives?

I have two hard drives installed in my mac, one is for system related stuff and one is a working drive for FCPX. Is there a way to set my time capsule to create a backup of my boot drive and an external drive to use time machine to back up the 2nd internal drive? Thanks!

Won't that change the preferences for both drives? I want the system drive to back up wirelessly to the time capsule, and then the 2nd drive to back up through Time Machine to a FW800 external drive... but only copy the 2nd drive, not the everything else that is backing up wirelessly.

I just recently set up my TC (AirPort 7.4.2) for wireless access for my MBP. I have guests from out of town who have laptops running Windows Vista. I've set up a Guest Network but they're unable to connect. Are there specifics steps that need to be taken in order for Windows Vista to be able to access the network? Time [ Quota Generation for Part-time employees]

I need a help. I have a following issue.
1] Whenever an employee is marked with a tick '' as Part-time], I want the quota to be generation based on the Weekly workdays [field in SAP WKWDY].
2] I used the option of defining reduction rule by selection the radio button on the following option:
            Weekly workdays
            Day by day in accrual period
            Accrual period
            No reduction [defined in To Percentage and From percentage]
3] When I execute the PT60, get an error message as "No Standard working time for key 13 5 20100501" I am running it for the month of May2010.
Can anyone throw some light, in case I missing something. I have earlier done configuration of Reduction Rule by using the rule 01 which has the option of Employment Pct. from Plnd Working Time Infotype. and then maintain for the employee the tick on Part-time and reduce the employment percentage.
Now the client I am working wants it based on the Weekly Work Days and these are all Salaried employees.
If anyone has faced this problem and has as solution, can you please share.

Yes, i have found the solution to it. I do not know whether it will fit into your situation or not, but i got two solutions for my issue mentioned above, please check it may help:
1) To use capacity utilization field in IT0008 to get the FTE hours and defining the reduction rule of absence quota based on the capacity utilazation percentage.
2) There are three user exits available in the standard report RPTQTA00, i have used one of them to write my own rules for the calculations (deduction rule)

Copying time machine disk for long time archive

not certain this is correct forum.
I have a 1 gb raid ext drive (two 1gb disks in raid 1). I use it as my Time Machine drive. It is now full.
I want to copy this data to a single 1GB drive, put it in permanent storage, and then reformat and reuse the raid drive as time machine #2.
This, I hope, would allow me to have the security of a raid setup as my current time machine disk and, when it is full, I can copy to another disk, then continually reuse the raid disk, within reason, of course, as my latest Time Machine disk #4, etc.
Can I do this and how would I do this?.

I think you can still do that with incremental backups to a clone, but I'm not certain.
I poked around Pondini's Time Machine FAQ and didn't see anything about making a duplicate of the TM disk.
As I stated earlier, I think it would work. And, I would imagine CCC or SuperDuper could clone the TM drive.

When I attempt to copy a bank statement, I can copy it to a folder, the second time I attempt to copy another month it will not copy, this is not unique to one bank it happens all the time. , thanks for your time.
