Incorrect Unicode setting while activation source system

HI,
I am not able to activate the source system. It gives me error of
"The unicode settings for destination BIQCLNT750 do not match the source system."
Please let me know how to fix it.
Thanks,
Dave.

Check whether you have maintained the proper Unicode settings were selected in SM59 (RFC settings) in both BW as well as in R/3?
If You are dealing with Unicode system (BW and R/3) then make sure that you select the unicode here in SM59 if not then you need to choose the other Radio button.
Once done then save the changes and then try to "restore" the connection again in order to activate the same.
Also check the below note for your issue:
Note 1156948 - Correction: Unicode indicator is incorrect
Hope this helps and solve your issue...

  • Error while activating source system

    Dear friends,
I am getting Error ' Basic type does not exit'  while activating source system in RSA1.
    please give the solution .
    Regards,
    D.prabhu

    Hello,
    this is due to incomplete partner profiles;
When createing your source system you have to ensure that your source system is open for modifications (transaction SCC4) and that you have administrative rights in this system. Indeed the creation of a source system will create all partners profiles in both systems thus the source system needs to be open for modification.
ensure this and "restore" your source system from RSA1
    hope this helps...
    Olivier.

    Hi ,
In SCC4 the source client should not set as production when creating the source system connection between two systems. Please check below SAP note
973555 - System must be open for creating/connecting source systems

    HI,
    Simple..
    GOTO Infoobject change mode.
    click on MASTERDATA /TEXTS TAB
There we have checkbox " Character . is Infoprovider " you select that and give the Info area name  and actvate it
Then you can find that in INFOPROVIDER MENU
and SELECT THE INFOAREA WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN in infoobject.

  • Error activating source system

    hi all
in bi7.0 i have source system which is connected to r/3 4.7
while activating its showing error "Result of the destination check: Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)"
I have given the  right password for biwuser in BI and aleremote in r/3 side
when i am trying to restore after giving all password in the restore option of the source system its showing message "rfc user logon failed check connection"
what may be the reason as i have crosschecked all the password is right.

    Hi,
I have faced similar issue. It is due to the version of R/3. R/3 4.7 stores the password in uppercase. When you activate source system, it supplies upper case password to biwuser in BI.
Change the biwuser password to uppercase and try restoring the source system with uppercase password.
    Hope it helps,
    regards,

  • Authorization for user in ECC while creating source system in RSA1 in BW

    Hello All..
We are trying to create source system from BW(7.0) system using transaction code rsa1 to R/3 Production server.
After providing details in RSA1->Source system ; Remote logon screen of Production server pops up ...and ask to login thru admistrator Id..
To achieve the above task,, what authorization user should have in R/3 system..
    Thanks

    Hi,
Hope you are using the RFCUSER with these profile SAP_ALL , SAP_NEW , S_BI-WX_RFC in SAP ECC. Please create the RFCUSER with above profiles in ECC and BW (SAP_ALL , SAP_NEW and S_BI-WHM_RFC).
Pls follow the below steps for source system connection
    In ECC side
1.) Client administration SCC4 ( select your client and allow changes to repository and cross client customizing)
2.) Define a logical system in ECC
3.) Assign a logical system in ECC
4.) Creating RFC user with system user type and give these profiles SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW, S_BI-WX_RFC

    2.) Define a logical system
    3.) Assign a logical system
4.) Creating RFC user with system user type and give these profiles SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW, S_BI-WHM_RFC)

  • Error while creating source system in BI: Modification not possible

    Hi All,
We are about to move to production, and therefore it's necessary to create in BI the source system related to our ECC (R/3). While trying to perform this action from BI side we received the error message:
SAP system has status 'not modifiable'. Because of this, and following with known consultants practices we've changed the client to customazing but it still not working although the message at this time is: Changes to repository or cross-client Customazing are not permitted. We have also verified transaction SE06 but it's not possible to change the Cross-Application Component to Modifiable.
Did someone face with this same problem before?
    Thanks to all in advance,
    Regards,
    José.-

    Hi Rick,
I really appreciate your quick response. We followed your recommendation and could create the source system without problems. Thanks once again!
    Best Regards,

  • Unable to 'set the default source system' to Install Business Content

    Hi,
Maars here. This is my first post hoping that in future ones I'll also be lending a helping hand.
I am trying to 'Install Business Content' under the BUSINESS CONTENT section in txn RSA1. I am doing this after 'Transfer Data Sources' in R/3 and I can now see all the data sources (under the application component hierarchy) for the source system. But I am not able to see the Info Objects in the Business Content.
When I try to set R/3 as the default source system (got this screen after clicking a icon in the standard tool bar), BW is not saving the settings ie., I set the R/3 as the default and then click on OK. If I go back to the same screen again, I find that my settings were NOT saved.
Could you please help me out?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
It seems to be a bug in version 3.5.
    Do like this:
After you open the screen to <i>choose the dafault source system</i>
Clcik on 3rd button(F6) available in the bottom of the scrreen.
And then select teh tick mark for required system.
And then click on Continue button
You have do this step before you drop the cube to right side of the cube.
Ok, even after all these steps , if you reopen the screen you would not see Tick mark u have done just before. DONOT WORRY ABT it.
Drag and drop required cube with dat flow before.
Now you can see the Transfer rules with selected Source system only in the collected Objects.

  • "Error in source system" while creating source system

    Hello,
I don't know what's our general problem (I suppose that it's ageneral problem) but we always have the following eror while creating a source system:
When we want to create a source system on BI, we first get an error "No connection to source system possible". After checking the RFC connection and correct the password of the remote user on the automatically created _DIALOG RFC connection the exception changes to "Error in source system".
The error occurs after the information "Please log on as an administrator in the following screen".
The remote user on R/3 side has got profiles S_BI-WHM_RFC and S_BI-WX_RFC (found two conflicting statements regarding this profiles), on BI side it has got SAP_ALL and some more profiles
What else could be the problem?
    Greetings & Thanks
    Bettina

    Hello,
    now we know that
    1. the remote user needs profiles SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW and has to be dialog user with a password unequal that password it should have in the future (otherwise you don't see the error messages that appear during the login process)
    2. the system has to be changeable (scc4 and se03)
After the source system is created the changeability can be changed to the original values and the remote user can be changed to a communication user again.
Thanks for the tip regarding the authorizations.
    Greetings
    Bettina

    kishore karnati

    Hi Kishore and Edwin,
I have exactly the same problem described here, except I am creating an ECC 6 source system in BI 7.
Therefore, I am wondering if you guys can elaborate on your experience.
I get the same error message RSAR 374 and RSAR 375.
I did both connection and authorization tests for the RFC in SM59 and it's OK.
What do you mean by the "basic concept of BWREMOTE AND ALEREMOTE background users."???
    Please advise.

  • Transfer Rules Deleted while recreating Source System

    Hi:
We connected our QBW system to upgraded SAP ECC 6.0 QAT system. We needed to recreate the source system for ECC since that appeared inactive. After our Basis admin re-created the source system, all transfer rules were deleted. Now we can not extract data. We had done the same thing in BWD when the SAP Dev system was upgraded 3 weeks ago and we did not have this problem. Is it possible to activate all transfer rules in QAT again? Or do we have to restore a backup? Or do we have to collect them again from the Development and transport to QBW??
    Thanks

    Hi Sunil,
yes when you delet the source system and recreate it evey thing will be vanished
right click on the souce system click Replicate datasouce
    Then try with
    a) Right click on source system and click on Restore if it doesn't work
    b) Transport from Development to Quality
and active all the transfer rules using the report RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
    hope this information helps you
    thanks

  • Error while assigning source system to SAP Remote cube

I need to do a query using remote cube and the source sys is flat file.
it wont let me assign the source system to the remote cube.
the r/3 system icon is seen next to the remote cube technical  name...
I can't  see my flatfile source system
    can somebody help me.

    Hello Kiran,
I don't think its possible to use Remote cubes for PC_FILE or FLAT FILE as Source system.
You can use Virtual Providers in these different scenarios
Virtual Providers based on DTP => used for SAP source systems
Virtual Providers based on BAPI => used for non-SAP or external systems
Virtual Providers bsaed on Function modules => You use this VirtualProvider if you want to display data from non-BI data sources in BI without having to copy the dataset into the BI structures. The data can be local or remote. You can also use your own calculations to change the data before it is passed to the OLAP processor. This function is used primarily in the SAP Strategic Enterprise Management (SEM) application.
    Use InfoObects as Virtual Providers
Your case is none of these.
