Hi Mohammed Renu
Incoterms are standard trade definitions most commonly used in international sales contracts. Devised and published by the International Chamber of Commerce, they are at the heart of world trade.
Among the best known Incoterms are EXW (Ex works), FOB (Free on Board), CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight), DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), and CPT (Carriage Paid To).
ICC introduced the first version of Incoterms - short for "International Commercial Terms" - in 1936. Since then, ICC expert lawyers and trade practitioners have updated them six times to keep pace with the development of international trade.
Most contracts made after 1 January 2000 will refer to the latest edition of Incoterms, which came into force on that date. The correct reference is to "Incoterms 2000". Unless the parties decide otherwise, earlier versions of Incoterms - like Incoterms 1990 - are still binding if incorporated in contracts that are unfulfilled and date from before 1 January 2000.
Versions of Incoterms preceding the 2000 edition may still be incorporated into future contracts if the parties so agree. However, this is course is not recommended because the latest version is designed to bring Incoterms into line with the latest developments in commercial practice.
The English text is the original and official version of Incoterms 2000, which have been endorsed by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). Authorized translations into 31 languages are available from ICC national committees.
Correct use of Incoterms goes a long way to providing the legal certainty upon which mutual confidence between business partners must be based. To be sure of using them correctly, trade practitioners need to consult the full ICC texts, and to beware of the many unauthorized summaries and approximate versions that abound on the web.
ICC now publishes a brief introduction to Incoterms on a new special section of its website. The section does not provide all the answers but will help understanding of what Incoterms are for and how they are organized. We describe how to order Incoterms in the original English version and many of the world's main languages from ICC Publishing in Paris and New York, or ICC national committees around the world.
The site includes for the first time the Preambles to each term, in read-only format. The Preambles explain the areas the terms cover but do not spell out the obligations of buyer and seller - information that can be obtained only by consulting the full published texts of the 13 Incoterms.
As the guardian and originator of Incoterms, ICC has a responsibility to consult regularly all parties interested in international trade to keep Incoterms relevant, efficient and up-to-date. This is a long and costly process for ICC, which is a non-governmental, self-financed organization. The work is financed out of sales of Incoterms 2000 and related publications, which are protected by copyright.
The Types of INCOTERMS ARE:
EXW EX WORKS (named place)*
FCA FREE CARRIER (named place)
FAS FREE ALONGSIDE SHIP (named port of shipment)*
FOB FREE ON BOARD (named port of shipment)
CFR COST AND FREIGHT (named port of destination)
CIF COST, INSURANCE AND FREIGHT (named port of destination)*

  • Control of Incoterms in creation of Shipment Costs

    Dear All,
We calculate shipment costs (Through Transportation module in SD-Freight payment-Outwards) on calculation base A (Delivery) or B
(Delivery item) and do not want to calculate deliveries that have certain
Incoterms (for example, TOP-To Pay, where Customer makes payment to Transporter).
By default, the system always creates a subitem in the shipment cost
document for the corresponding calculation base for every delivery item or for every delivery involved.
We want to have Control over certain Incoterms where we don't pay to the customers. We want to restrict the users not to calculate Shipment Costs in TOP-To pay cases. Kindly help if any Userexits available for this scenario to handle.
    Regards
    Subrat

    Hi,
I think we have a similar requirement. For FCA transports is the transport cost zero. We have created a seperate condition in the cost procedure as a condition class A ( discount or surcharge ) in T_06. This has an access sequence assigned which uses a 9xx condition table (T_03) with fields Service agent f.stage ( TDLNR ) and
Incoterms     ( INCO1 ). This enables us to maintain condition records in TK12. So FCA is maintained with 100 % deduction and thus no costs.

  • Need help in updating Inco terms 1 and 2 in the Inbound delivery creation

    Hi Group,
I have created an output type that will be triggered before an Inbound Delivery is created from the Outbound Delivery ( this scenario is in STO orders - Inter company stock transfer process ).
I have copied a standard processing routine and customized it but, I am not able to update the 2 fileds (INCO1 and INCO2) in the item delivery of the Inbound Delivery. I was using the FM 'WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE' to update these 2 fields( by passsing the values fetched from the Outbound Delivery into the structure 'vbkok_wa' and the Inbound delivery created into the field 'delivery' of the FM ).
When I run the the FM this is giving me errors and thus no Inbound Delivery is getting created.
Please suggest me with some other way of updating these fields in the Inbound Delivery.
and one more thing is that, I was selecting the Inco terms from the table LIKP directly, but this should not be the proper way to read the Incoterms, so please suggest me a way to read these 2 fields from the Outbound Delivery.
to summarize, I need an FM to get the Incoterms from Outbound Delivery initially, and then, require another FM to update these Incoterms in the Inbound Delivery( this is a typical scenario in an STO - Stock Transport Order ).
Please let me know your input on these 2 cases.
Thanks for the help in advance.
    Regards
    Vishnu.

    Hi Group,
By implementing the BADI 'LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC' this particular requirement can be fulfilled.

  • INCOTERMS Missing

    Hi All Gurus in SAP,
I have a question - in INTRASTAT Reporting in VE07 when declaring for France, we are not able to see the INCOTERMS in the report, though it is present in the billing document.
Can you please help me and see why this is happening and let me know?
    Thanks
    Raj

    Hi,
Check the data that you have in table VEIAV.
If the data are incomplete, and the volume of data that you must correct is so massive to correct it manually, you can complete it with enhancement FTGOVSEL (read the Note 303984 - Correct use of EXIT_SAPLV50G_001 and EXIT_SAPLV50G_002)
Check all step in your customizing. Althought it's for Romania, Note 1016386 - Intrastat for Romania will help you, it add an append with a document with all steps.
    I hope this helps you

  • Incoterms in Intercompany Billing Document

    My Dear SAP Mentors,
Can you please let me know that from where in "Purchase Order" incoterm appears at item level...
In the concerned PO at Header level there is a seperate incoterm for e.g. DDP Jyderup...I know this comes from the vendor master record.
There are two items in the concerned PO...
I am confused as when I go to item details Delivery tab then for one Material say 212244 incoterm comes as DDU gebze and for another Material say 253264 incoterm comes as EXW Poland.
    1) Any idea from where this is coming...?
    2) Which incoterm should appear at the intercompany billing document ?
    3) Is it correct to have a incoterm from customer master record (Ship to party) in the intercompany billing document.
    4) Else please let me know the standard setup or incoterm get affected by copy control in documents.
Requesting you all to kindly help me on above queries...
Best answers would be appreciated by full points...
    Thank You !
    Best Regards,
    Anubhav

    Hi,
    1) Any idea from where this is coming...?
    - This could be from Info record. Use T.code ME12 to check the inco term for the particular vendor + material combinations. You can view the details under Purchase organization data1.
    2) Which incoterm should appear at the intercompany billing document ?
    - Ship-to party inco term.
    3) Is it correct to have a incoterm from customer master record (Ship to party) in the intercompany billing document.
    - This is correct

  • Incoterms in PO line item

    Hi,
As the Vendor Inco terms in PO header is getting populated from the
vendor master...similarly Inco terms in PO Line item gets populated fromArticle PIR...If its blank then it doesnt get any value & if the same is maintain in PIR manually then Incoterms does reflects in the PO line item.
I have got couple of info which was quite relevantto my query i.e
(the incoterms at item level is item specific, U can mutually agree uponcertain incoterms with a vendor for some materials. But when u make a
single Po for many item (and there cud be items fr which the incoterms
are different and not yet settled with vendor ) - thus incoterms itemwise
cam also be maintained.) & (If you enter an Incoterm on header level,
this is valid for all items that do not explicitly have an Incoterm. If
you then enter an Incoterm on item level, this overwrites the Incoterm
    entered on header level.)
But still need few more details...e.g when we create a PIR(with
combination of vendor, article & pur org thru ME11 @ that time why systemdoesn't picks up the Vendor Incoterms is there any setting which allows
the values to flow at the time of creation of PIR. Or it has some
specific reasons where its intentionally does not flow while creating PIR.
Coz i have checked manually entering Incoterms in ME11/ME12, then it
flows in the PO line item level directly.
Also how could we get the PO Header Incoterms & PO Line item incoterms
    reflecting similar.
Need your help ASAP as this has an impact on the process mapped by
mapping ZOne wise Warehouse for bettercontrol which is critical.
    Please help...
    Thanx in advance..

  • Incoterms in Create Shipment VT01N

    Hello,
While creating Shipment(VT01N) wrt to Outbound Delivery(VL02N),the Incoterms are not getting copied in Create Shipment (VT01N).
Following which users are creating Shipment Costs(VI01) without giving Incoterms. In MIRO,it is creating problems, finding what were the actual incoterms (TOP customer to pay to the transporter or FOR company to pay to the transporter.
Is there any copy control link from Out Del. to Shipment? But we found none in SPRO.Kindly suggest.
    Regards
    Subrat

    Dear Subrat,
There is a field to maintain copying routine in the shipment document which will control the copy of the data from the delivery to the shipment document ,based on this you can copy the delivery data to shipment document.
    Go through this path
SPRO->Logistics Execution>Transportation>Shipments>Click on Define Shipment types system will give you what are shipment types maintaining then select your shipment type go into the details of the shipment in the detail screen you can find the field Copy routine under Proposal tab here you check what routine you are maintaining
Maintain the Routine "9" Stamdard then try
If not come try with other routine even the other routines also not full filled then copy the standard one then create new one with ABAPer help in the VOFM transaction.
I hope it will help you

    Murali.

  • Copy incoterms from sales order to purchase order

In the third party flow: we create a sales order which creates a purchase requisition which is converted to a purchase order, I want to copy the incoterms which are initally added in the sales order automatically to the purchase order. Anyone knows how to proceed?
    Thanks!

what business scenario is this? third-party-order-processing? in that case SAP standard would submit the data from the sales order to the purchase order (via purchase requisition) automatically, see documentation: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/dd/560287545a11d1a7020000e829fd11/content.htm

    Hi SAP Guru,
There are many wrongly assigned incoterms in the scheduling agreement at item level by a user exit which was implemented recently in production. May i know if there is any way that we can revert those changes back to the original incoterms via mass change? I've tried to search over the internet and it seems like there is no posting about this issue before. Please help urgently. Thanks in advance.

  • Incoterms-freight, payment terms

    Hii SAPians,
    1) There are   payment term which have been undestood between the comany and the customers. lets say a payment term (within 15 days 3% discount), how will this 3% discount will be provided to the customer , do we have an separate condition type for it.If so will each payment term will have an separate condition type. How is the condition record determined for such above situation.
    2) What is the difference between Account determination KOFI/KOFK.
    3) How is the Freight charges being determined in pricing.
I know its based on Incoterms assigned to the customer master.
I just want to know will the amount determined based on the weight of the material. What is the process flow in the freight determination.
    pls help
    monti

    hi,
the payment terms are adjust while doing account receivables.
KOFI is account determination condition type used without controlling.
    And
KOFK is account determination condition type used with controlling.
Freights are generally determined at the time of delivery. yes incoterms are used for determining freights because they talk about the liability from the company side regarding shipment of goods.
like for eg goods going from place A to C via B.
Now company says FOB --- B - means the responsibility for the company ends at B. From its the customers responsibility to take the goods. So the charges are calculated accordingly for various incoterms.
Hoppe it helps. reward if helpful.
    Thanks,
    Sadhu Kishore

    Hi......

    Incoterms
Incoterms are worldwide accepted commercial terms that defines the respective roles of the buyer as well as of the seller in arrangement of the transportation and other responsibilities and it also clarifies when the ownership of the merchandise takes place.
The following are the Incoterms 2000 which are generally used:
    Origin Terms
EXW (Ex-Works) - The title and risk passes on to the buyer including the payment of all transportation and insurance cost from the seller's point. It can be used for any mode of transport.
International Carriage Not Paid by Seller
FCA (Free Carrier) - The title and risk passes on to the buyer including the transportation and insurance cost if the seller delivers the goods cleared for export to the carrier. In this case the seller is obligated to load the goods on the buyer's collecting vehicle but it is the buyer's obligation to receive the seller's arriving vehicle unloaded.
FAS (Free Alongside Ship) - The title and risk passes on to the buyer, included the transportation and insurance payment, once the goods delivered alongside ship by the seller. It is only used for the sea or inland waterway transportation and the export clearance obligation rests with the seller.
FOB (Free On Board) - In FOB the risk passes to buyer, included the transportation and insurance payment, once delivered on board the ship by the seller. It is only used for sea or inland waterway transportation.
International Carriage Paid by the Seller
CFR (Cost and Freight) - The title, risk and the insurance cost passes on to the buyer if delivered on board the ship by seller who paid the transportation cost to the destination point. It is only used for sea or inland waterway transportation.
CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) - The title and risk passes on to the buyer if delivered on board the ship by the seller who paid the transportation and insurance cost to the destination port. It is used for sea or inland waterway transportation.
CPT (Carriage Paid To) - The title, risk and insurance cost passes to the buyer if the goods delivered to carrier by the seller who pays transportation cost to the destination. It can be used for any mode of transportation.
CIP (Carriage and Insurance Paid To) - The title and risk passes to the buyer if the goods are delivered to carrier by the seller and he pays transportation and insurance cost to destination. It can be used for any mode of transportation.
    Arrival At Stated Destination
DAF (Delivered at Frontier) - The title, risk and responsibility for the import clearance passes on to the buyer if the goods are delivered to named border point by the seller. It can be used for any mood of transportation.
DES (Delivered Ex Ship) - The title, risk, responsibility for the vessel discharge and the import clearance passes on to the buyer when the seller delivers it on board the ship to destination port. It is used for sea or inland waterway transportation.
DEQ (Delivered Ex Quay - Duty Paid) - The title and risk passes to the buyer if the goods are delivered on board the ship at the destination point by the seller who on his part delivers the goods on dock at the destination point cleared for import. It is used for sea or inland waterway transportation.
DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) - The title, risk and responsibility of the import clearance passes on to the buyer if the seller delivers the goods to named destination point. It can be used for any mode of transportation. Here the buyer is obligated for import clearance.
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) - The title and risk passes on to the buyer when the seller delivers the goods to the named destination point cleared for the import. It is also used for any mode of transportation.
