Increase decimal places in Gross Unit of Measure

Hello Everyone,
I had an issue regarding Decimal places for a specific Unit of measure.
My Base unit of measure is maintained in Ea. For this the material is maintained with a gross maintained in Kg's. Now to record 2.5 grams i have to menition .0025 Kg but system does not accept up to 4 decimal places. system only accepts up to 3 decimal places. Even increasing the decimal places in CUNI does not make the system to accept 4 Decimal places.
So what is the solution to this.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Aji

HI
I dont think that we can increase the length of the decimal places filed in all cases. Refer note 95869.

  • Decimal places in alternative unit of measure

    Dear Gurus,
we have a material having two units of measure. Kg and meter.
we have to define base unit as meter and alternative as kg.
    1 m = 5.236 kg.
But when i define this in alrenative UOM system gives error
    "Decimal places are not permitted"
I know I can do it by multiplying by 1000 but I want to know whether we can use decimal places in alternative UOM
I have already defined in CUNI display tab decimal places =3
    please help.
    Thanks

    S.J.,
Wether you use the unit as main unit or additional unit, it doesn't make difference if you have maintained the required settings in CUNI, which you say alreadt done.
Check out other setings like if you have used user exit etc.
Also test the same unit some where else to have the exact idea.
    Hope this helps you.

  • How we can increase decimal places in Sales Order for Qty

    Hi,
In Sales Order qty field now its 3 decimal places for MON unit of measure but we want 4. how we can increase decimal places.
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks & Regards,
    PM

    To elaborate better.
Again, use Tcode CUNI - Unit of measurement : Initial Screen.
At initial screen, choose TIME from the list (where by default AAAADL- no dimensions is there).
And click on UNIT OF MEASUREMENT button.
In that you will find MON - Month.
There go for details by selecting MON or select MON and press F5 from Key board.
For MON unit maintain following parameter as per your requirement:
-Number of decimal places for number display
Use - This parameter determines the number of decimal places with which this measurement unit is displayed.
-Base ten exponent for floating-point display
Use - This exponent determines how the values for this measurement unit are formatted as floating point numbers.
Examples - If the exponent is 3, the floating point numbers have the format xxx.xxxxE3.
And deselect commercial meas. unit in application parameters section.
I would suggest instead of changing standard settings of MON, you create ZMON in TIME dimension.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Increase decimal places in the PO quantity and Price

    Hi All,
Can the decimal places in the PO( ME21N) creation be increased more than 3 decimal places in quantity and price?
I did changes in UOM's in CUNI, I increased the decimal places upto 14 but still it does not take more than three i-e., 0.001 maximum.
Is there any other way to handle this?
    Request inputs on this.
Note 569326 - ME9F: Customized decimal places are not taken into account........ found this OSS but this correction instruction is not for our pack level ECC 6.0

    hi
In case if you are already working in production remember that decimal places should not change. It will affect all previous data.
For your problem best solution is make order unit as 1000. So that your problem will solve
e.g. instead of 2.009 inr for 1 Unit use 2009 inr for 1000 unit.

  • Increasing decimal places in System Prefs

Hello all. I was wondering if there was a way to increase the decimal places for a currency when you go to System Preferences > International > Formats Tab.
I'm not sure if there are other countries that have 3 decimal places for their currency, but I'm currently in Jordan, and the local currency (Jordanian Dinar) has 3 decimal places. If I change the currency in the formats tab of the international pref to Jordanian Dinar, it shows 2 digits. Is there a way to customize or change this to increase the decimal places from 2 to 3?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Oracle DBConnect fetches less records when increasing decimal places

    Hi All,
In our project we are extracting data from Oracle table into BW using DBConnect. One of the fields is an amount field which is stored as a DEC datatype in Oracle. When we try to bring in the value as it is by increasing the decimal places in the datasource "Proposal" tab, we see that the number of records transferred gets reduced. If we specify the decimal place as 2 or 3, we get all the records, but if we specify 4 or more, the records get reduced. Any idea what could be the problem? We are in BI 7.0 SP 13.
    Thanks
    Sundar

    Hi Kishore,
    Thank you for quick reply.
Yes, I've already played around with different call interface types - no result.
It is funny, but in View Data I see the column values are shown as integers! Of course, datatype is set to DOUBLE in OBIEE.
May be it has something to do with the fact underlying db object is not a table, but a view? In the db view datatype is shown as NUMBER.
I also noticed the same issue with other physical tables which are defined as opaque views (Select). If I change type to Physical Table and underlying db object is a table indeed, values are displayed as decimals, but no issues with extra digits. Still I have the issues with queries over this physical table.

  • Increase decimal place for price

    Dear All,
We are having a requirement to increase the decimal place to 6 for price.
Any suggestions how we can do that in SNC.
    thanks,
    mahesh.

    Dear Mahesh
You cannot have 6 decimal for standard currencies.
What you can do is, create a dummy currency and maintain it as 6 decimal and maintain exchange rate of conversion for this dummy currency and original currecy.
If you try to maintain for standard currency, it will lead to inconsistencies
Lets say AUD is standard currency
now create AUD6 as dummy currency and maintain decimal as 6, and create rate (direct/indirect) between AUD & AUD6

  • Increase decimal Places in SAP B1

    Dear Experts,
    (Using SAP B1 PL 49)
I am trying to change the Decimal places in the General Settings->Display (Decimal Places), from 2 to 6 to in all the fields.
When i try to update it gives me the following error:-
"Cannot update while another user is connected to the company"
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Dear Asif,
    Thank you for the information.
I logged all the users out from the SAP server and i stopped the SQL services and then re-started the SQL services again.
I logged into SAP b1, but was getting the same error message.
I removed the network cable of the server and I restarted the SAP server and then logged into SAP and tried to change the decimal places, but was still getting the same error message.
I'm all out of ideas, this has never happened before to me.

  • DECIMAL PLACE UN UNIT OF MEASURE

    Dear Friends
is ther any way to maintain decimal place during alternate  unit of measure.  FOr Ex 1  bar = 23.34 Kg. without rounding 100 bar = 2334 kg. i already maintained decimal in CUNI. still not able to maintain decimal.
    Thanks and Regards
    Madhavan

Yes you should be able to maintain this. Ensure that you allow decimals for the UOM Kg in CUNI it should allow this conversion you are referring to. You should put decimal places for both display and conversion.

  • Problem with transaction CUNI and configuring decimal places

Note: I'm actually an ABAP programmer and do not know almost anything about SAP configuration.
Note2: Sorry if this was posted in the wrong section. I am trying to avoid an ABAP solution so I did not post this in the ABAP section.
Note3: Sorry for cross posting. I'm trying to make this visible to as much experts as possible.
    \[Problem\]
I'm tasked to increase the number of decimal places that a certain standard program in MM accepts.
    \[ABAP solution I'm trying to avoid\]
The consultants' initial recommendation was to make Z copies of the standard table and the standard programs that references that table. This would be rather dangerous as there is the risk of missing certain parts of the code If I was to replace all occurences of the old standard table with my custom Z table.
    \[Standard solution I'm trying to do\]
Now I've read several threads here that makes use of transaction CUNI to adjust decimal places of certain units of measure (see Re: Unit Of Measure problem and change decimal places in PO quantity). However, when I tried it, It does not work the way I expect it to.
In SE11, I created a custom table that has a quantity field (length: 13, decimals: 3) and a unit field (length 3)
In CUNI, I created a new ISO code TST (for test). Then I created a new Unit of measure ZTT (ZTesT) which makes use of my ISO code TST. I set the decimal places to 6.
When I insert data into my custom table, instead of 6, the number of decimal places remain at 3.
Please help in adjusting decimal places without touching the table.

    Hello Dzed,
I've read several posts that suggest transaction CUNI to adjust decimal places in standard unit of measures. What I tried is a simplified simulation of what is needed.
In a more realistic sense, consider table VBRP and column FKIMG. What If I want to store items in VBRP and allow 6 decimal places for FKIMG but I am not allowed to modify the table? Is making a Z copy of VBRP the only solution? Or is there a more standard way of doing this?
My worry is that If I copy a table, I also need to copy the programs that use it and modify them accordingly. Our Basis do not want the standard tables touched.

  • Change of the quantity field to 5 decimal places in SAP

    Hi Gurus,
The quantity field is appearing with 3 decimal places in BOM, Process Order, etc. Is it possible to make the decimal places to 5.
All the decimal digits from SAP are 3 digits. We have an interface through which the data flows from another legacy system (Fow system) to SAP. And the Fow system setting was 5 digits. The issue is some of the raw material requirement qty was really minor and it might be below the decimal 3 digits.
In that case, when the data flows to SAP from Fow system it will cause the material stage failure. so please help me to investigate how to let the SAP also could have the 5 digits decimal. Thanks.
    Regards
    Brijesh

    Dear ,
Its SAP standard ,to put and use decimal places in BOM qty .You can use upto 3 decimal places in BOM qty.
At SE11 you need to see what measure field is linked to the quantity field. Then goto tranaction CUNI and chage the decimal places of the unit of measure for the qty field unit , it will not allow you more than 3 decimal places in case of BOM qty.
    You have following choice :
    1. With the access key make changes in the standard program and take help from ABAPer
SAPLCSDI, Table Name-RC29P, Field Name- MENGE.
    2) Change the base quantity in BOM header to 1000 aand accordingly change the component quantity.
    Hope this is clear

  • Decimal places not allowed

    Hello,
We have created one materail , their Base unit of measure is "BOX" Checked the CUNI transaction, in that Decimal places  field is "0' and Decimal place rounding filed "0"
With reff to this material while creation of Purchase order system will allow me to enter Decimal places..Means i can enter 102.132 BOX in qty filed in Purchase order.
But with ref to same material while creation of process order, system will not allow me to enter decimal places. why?  system should not allow decimal places for BOX unit of measure in Process order.
    sapman man

you cannot restrict this behaviour with CUNI customizing, you can only check and stop this in a user exit.
SAP inventory managment allows and stores 3 decimals for any unit of measure. You can only define how it will show the value to the users and how it will round the decimals if it calculates the conversion. But if you enter manually with decimals, then SAP will not round this.

  • Decimals regarding Unit of measurement

    Dear Experts,
I'm facing to an issue related to the following unit of measure : KM and DAY.
I would like to add decimal places for these units of measure (3 places after decimal point) because actually it is 0 by default. I heard that it is not recommended.
These above units of measure are used in our material masters. And there are some open purchase orders, contracts for these materials.
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards,

    Hello Lakshman,
I agree with you for not changing this table. I think it's risky. So I've decided to use another unit of measure such as H (hour) and M (meter).
