Increase in usage query

I have been on option one for ever and have never gone over my usage allowance (10gb), now all of a sudden it has shot up. 27gb in august, 43 gb in sept and already on 9.1gb for october. Nothing has changed at my end- no one games on line, downloads music or film etc or has increased internet usage. In fact we wouldnt know where to start. Rang BT. Their answer was to just up grade as they couldnt tell me what was being downloaded. But I dont want to but also cant afford the additional £33 they have wacked on to my bill for exceeding the allowance. Can any 'normal' person give me advice on how to look into this bearing in mind Im a novice with computers. thanks

Hope you don't mind a few questions.
Do you use wireless ? How many computers are connected to your network ?
What anti-virus or other security package do you have installed on the computers ?
For the usage for October, did you check with the online checker now available ? If so - you might like to check daily for a bit to see what figures are showing.

In the pref file ti states that: "Note: After Effects will not use more that 2GB of RAM... See After Effects Help for information about enabling this option."
I have 4 GB ram. I have searched AE Help, Microsoft, adobe and Google, ..,. for 3 hours now. I cannot find out HOW to do this. Everyone talks about it but no one tells HOW.
I really would appreciate it if someone, anyone would be kind enough to give me a hint as to where I might fine information on HOW to do it. It is so frustrating that Adobe help files does not tell you how to find anything or use the search terms in stating that you can find something. It sure would make it easier to use their programs if they stated how. But maybe it is just that I am not a tech guru, only a lowly user.

Sudden increase in usage

After nearly 3 years with BT my monthly usage allowance has suddenly started being exceeded even though I am not using the internet any differently.
The alert emails were being sent to the wrong email so I only found out when my paper bill finally arrived. Last month I apparently exceeded the usage by 40GB!!!! For someone who doesn't d/load, watch online tv etc this seems a huge amount. Three days phoning BT and no further on, customer services are useless!!!
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the increase in usage, I live in the country with no neighbours close by so someone 'hopping on' is very unlikely.

You can check your broadband usage by going to http://www.bt.com/broadbandusagemonitor
Have you checked that you have no virus/malware on your computers that may be running in the background using up the internet? You can check by running a virus scan on your anti-virus protection software.
Do you have any phones/portable devices that are using the internet? For blackberry's and phones that connect to the wifi, then your data calls will be running through your internet instead of the mobile network.
If you have a bad internet connection then sometimes data sent to your hub will have to be sent again, this can sometimes use up more usage than you think your using.

Hi,
As I understand, you want to increase the size of the root partition (where you installed Solaris) which resides in c1t0d0s0. I think it can be done using Concatenations from Solaris Volume Manager (SVM).
I have tried it in non root partition like /export/home and it is very easy.
metainit -f d0 2 1 c1t0d0s7 1 c2t0d0s7 //this will create volume d0 as a concatenation
growfs -M /export/home /dev/md/rdsk/d0 //this will grow the /export/home partition

Does installing Desktop Experience on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 slow down the server / increase processor usage?

I'm running a tekkit classic (Minecraft) Server on a dedicated server I got from OVH, Im just wondering - Im currently using ClamAV for an antivirus, But I would like windows defender.
Im wondering if installing Desktop Experience on my dedi would increase processor usage or slow down the dedi even slightly.
System Specs:
RAM: 32GB DDR3 ECC 1600MHz
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1245v2
HDD: 2x2TB SATA (Both used, specified as different drives)
OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
Theres only 1 indev tekkit server currently running on there, Im getting 0-5% processor usage. I may be setting up more modpack servers - but im wondering if installing desktop experience would increase the processor usage or slow the dedi down.

What can I do to increase battery usage time to greater than 6 hours? I have a New iPad purchased 03/23/2012 64K-WiFi. I recharge it and get another 6 hours usage. I am using it primarily for reading books. Are there any applications I can turn off to get back to 10 hours?

@Ralph9430 The changes you recommended were implemented. This afternoon approximately at the same time and with similar usage all day The New iPad had 36% left on battery. This is a gain of 30% battery life. Thank you. Your suggestions resolved the issues.

Increased data usage

My data usage has increased quite a bit with IOS 6. I have been very vigilant in watching what I do. It's so frustrating to check the usage and the times I have large blocks come through are usually when I know I've been connected to wifi or in some cases overnight while the phone is off. Any suggestions?

You should be able to identify the applications or system services that are causing a significant increase in usage with a little detective work and a little time by watching and analyzing the information in Settings > Cellular > Use Cellular Data For. Also, if you tap on System Services at the bottom of that list it will show details of system service usage. All number are since the statistics where last reset and the reset is in that same area.

Software updates increases HD usage?

When downloading software updates, does the downloaded data REPLACE pre-existing data or ADD to it? Basically, what I'm asking is, do software updates increase HD usage?

If it's just downloading the updater, then adding. If it's installing, then it could be either, depending on what's replaced or added. BTW, why? Running out of disk space?

How Can I increase performance of Query with Distinct Keyword

In my Query when I execute this without Distinct it give result very soon,
But when I excute this with Distinct its performance is very slow is there any option for increase the performance with Distinct .
I have to use Distinct according to our rewuirement.

neither DISTINCT nor GROUP BY do sort. If you need to sort, use ORDER BY. Slight correction, they do a sort, but your results are not guarenteed to be sorted.
The overhead of a sort is incurred, if your results is large enough (my test below isn't) you will be sorting to disk. Which as we all know can be very slow.

High (and increasing) memory usage: Windows Driver Foundation

Hello! I updated my Z50-70 to Windows 10 a few days ago, using the clean install method. Everything works great but I noticed one problem. There is one process "Windows Driver Foundation - user-mode driver framework" which consumes great amounts of RAM. But the worrying thing is that when I start the computer that process doesn't use too much memory, but it keeps increasing, slowly but surely, and it doesn't seem to stop. I have done some research and apparently it could be caused by some faulty driver. Does anybody have the same problem? Is it any way to identify what is causing this problem? Thanks.

As soon as Firefox opens, it starts increasing memory usage until it maxes out, and it won't actually close unless I end the process in the task manager.

Even if I'm not doing anything, no matter how few tabs I have open, Firefox will slowly increase in memory (RAM) usage until it's using nearly 100% of my computer's RAM, and everything basically freezes. Even when I close the window, the process continues to run, and I have to end the process in the task manager in order to get it to stop using RAM. I've tried disabling all my add-ons, and that does not help.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I have a titleWindow with seven combobox and anything else, like labels, radios, etc.
The second time I open the titleWindow (the first time works fine), my cpu usage increase at least 50% and my browser became so slowly. I must to re-open the browser to work normally.
I have tried to delete all the combobox´s and works perfect.
I open and close the titleWIndow with PopUpManager, so I do not understand why the memory is not dispose.
Is there any solution??

How to monitor query usage / query activity in the system?

I am using 0TCT_MC01 to report the number of times the query was executed and by which user.
According to SAP Documentation,
The Technical Content for BI Statistics does not provide any standard queries for doing this. But you can easily create your
monitoring query based on the InfoProvider 0TCT_MC01 or 0TCT_C01 by using the key figures 0TCTQUCOUNT (counts every
navigation in a query) and 0TCTWTCOUNT (counts every call of a BI Application = initial opening of Workbook or Web Template).
0TCTWTCOUNT is a key figure in the cube. How to restrict this KF to display only Initial opening of Workbook or web template ?

Item Category Usage query

Hi Gurus
Please tell me how item category usage is getting assigned to a material?
We define item category usage...
We assign it to a sales doc typ, item category group to get item category.
But how it is getting determined for a material? Where is the link?

i've actually been thinking about this issue since i started posting. yes, you can find item usage in customer-material info. but where is item usage assigned so that this is relevant in item category determination (as in: sales doc type + item category group + item usage + higher level item category = item category)?
how does the system, for example, know that usage is blank (for normal processing) or 'FREE' for free goods? is the item usage in the condition records created?
where does the system find the indicator (item usage CHSP) when batches are involved?
although there have been many helpful threads, including the 'where used' list, a definitive answer would be very much welcome.
