Increase max. spool requests

Hello guys,
since a few days we have a big problem with our system. After a undefined time all workprocesses are full by executing the report SAPLSPOX.
--> they try to create an output to table TSP01
SURE the solution is to run a job which deletes old printouts (RSPO0041)
But I'm having this problem since days.
NOW I want to increase the number of max. spool requests????
Or is there a better solution????
It's very busioness critical at the moment.

I have changed the max. spool requests from 32000 to 80000 and I run into this problem last evening again.
Are there any other settings to change. Buffers or something like that........
Please help me because of system standstill each time we run into this situation.

Hi Sam,
The spool is ultimately a file created in the database. So it can handle a large number of pages.
By defaut it shows only first ten pages.. This can be changed from the settings in SP01.
GOTO> DISPLAY REQUESTS> SETTINGS

Spool Request in job scheduling

Hi All,
I have scheduled one report in background. But in the spool I am not getting the display of the output in proper manner.
The columns are displayed on two lines.
Please tell me how can I get all the columns in one line. I tried by setting the width of the spool request to the highest value.
The output format which I am getting in the spool is as follows.

Hi,
Even after setting a output device which can hold max characters, am sure its something to do with line-size clause of the report parameter. Try changing the line-size to a highervalue in the report statement of the program like below
report ztest no standard page heading line-size 230 line-count 65.

Report output list is generated in spool.
used GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS and write statements.
The requirment is to increase the font size in spool.

Problem in Spool Request

Dear Friends,
I developed a smartform for customer it prints last form twice.
means suppost if i give 1 to 10 customers it is giving 11 forms( 1,2,...10,10) it prints tenth form twice.
Another problem is.. at spool request(sp01) i able print only 10 forms.
it is showing that only page 1 to 10 of 17 displayed.
Can anyone give me the suggestion

This is because the display area is too small.
Solution : To increase the display area, choose "Goto -> Request Display -> Settings". Note that this will use more main memory and may cause the transaction to terminate.

Problem with Spool requests

Hello ,
Some spool requests are completed with status "Completed(Problem)". When we check the output Request Logs find below things :
Print request processing log
The host spool is reporting errors
This request may not have been printed. Status unknown
Most important attributes of spool request
Request number 43899
When we checked we are getting printouts fine but still in status we are getting completed with problem in Red mark.
Can anybody tell abt this confusing situation why we are getting status in sP01 like this.

File = /usr/sap/SID/SYS/DVEBMGS00/data.
UNIX:-
check the file system status whether it is full (100%)
Then increase file system thorugh OS level.
Windows:-
Check your hard disk of file system.

Creating spool requests using smartforms

I need help in this area...
I have an ABAP print program that I run to create monthly statements. There are two categories while running the monthly statements identified by the code '6' or '7' Now, i have to create separate spool requests so that while running the print program for these monthly customers.
How can I do this?

Ok, first lets say that ACCITAB has the records that are printed in the main window of the form. The number of pages for each customer depends on how many records are present in the ACCITAB for the customer.

Lets say we have two customers in our table, customer 1234 has only two records associated with him, customer 5678 has like 75 lets say. Here you will need to loop at this table and count how many records are there for each customer and store it in another internal. Maybe you can have a separate internal table for each category.
Types: begin of titab,
 kunnr type kna1-kunnr,
 count type i,
 end of titab.
Data: itab_1 type table of titab with header line.
Data: itab_2_5 type table of titab with header line.
Data: itab_6_M type table of titab with header line.
One for 1 pagers, one of 2-5 pagers, and one for 6 and more pages.
Now loop thru ACCITAB and at the end of a customer you need to write a record to one of these tables with the record count. Use the AT END statement. You will need to determine the maximum number of printed lines that your form handles in the MAIN window. Example, how many printed lines does it take to make the form go to the next page. You need to find what this number is.
When you have this number, now you can do some logic which will split the customers into there categorys.
Let's say that the max is 50 lines per page.
Data: counter type i.
LOOP AT ACCITAB.
counter = counter + 1.
at end of kunnr.
IF counter < '50'.
itab_1-kunnr = accitab-kunnr.
itab_1-count = counter.
append itab_1.
elseif counter => '51'
 and counter =< '250'.
itab_2_5-kunnr = accitab-kunnr.
itab_2_5-count = counter.
append itab_2_5.

itab_6_m-kunnr = accitab-kunnr.
itab_6_m-count = counter.
append itab_6_m.

Now you have the customers split out into separate internal tables depending on how many pages for thier statement. Now you can start printing.

Loop at itab_1.
* Do the logic which prints your form.

call fucntion 'OPEN_FORM'.
Loop at itab_2_5.
* Do the logic which prints your form.

I forgot to inform you of that:
1) [Note 193638 - Calculating spool number from file names as of 4.0A|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/193638] (indicates the algorithm of UNIX file names). This note also indicates "For Release 4.0A, the maximum spool number has been increased from 99000 to 2000000000. The maximum number of output requests per spool request has been increased to 32767 as well."
2) I think I forgot one of your initial questions:

By default, SAP tries to append pages to existing spools with same characteristics. If they are always different, a new spool request is always created. So, you may change some characteristics so that they are identical and SAP will reuse existing spools. See rules in [Note 85318 appending documents to existing spool requests|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/85318].

Cleaning spool requests - report RSPO1041

Hi experts,
We're using SRM 5.5 and we've scheduled the reports
- BBP_GET_STATUS_2 ( every 2 minutes)
- CLEAN_REQREQ_UP
As a consequence, in the SPOOL we are having many requests.
In order to delete the spool requests, we have one job for the report RSPO1041, which is defined to delete spool requests from report bbp_get_status_2. In addition, we have 2 more jobs to clean the spool, using the same report RSPO1041, but with a generic variant.
However, those jobs are not being successfully cleaning the spool, as the spool requests are not being deleted.
So, my question is, is there any reason for the report bbp_get_status_2 generate spool requests?
And if it is really necessary, is there any other way to clean the spool? Or there is any other reason to the RSPO1041 is not cleaning the spool requests as it should?

Normally CLEAN_REQREQ_UP doesn't generate any spools, BBP_GET_STATUS_2 does and it does have the reason to generate spool as you would want a comprehensive report on the synchronization between SRM and R/3 documents.
In order to delete the spool requests, we have one job for the report RSPO1041, which is defined to delete spool requests from report bbp_get_status_2. In addition, we have 2 more jobs to clean the spool, using the same report RSPO1041, but with a generic variant.
Why having multiple jobs for the same purpose? I would just schedule one job that manage the cleaning of spools with a desired variant for report RSPO1041. And there should not be a reason for it not to be cleaning up accordingly, unless the job itself is not running into the status "finished". Having multiple jobs involving report RSPO1041 with different variants also increases the complexity for your tracking of its effectiveness.

Downloading spool requests

I have a requirement to download 1600 pages of spool request instead of printing it.
The issue we have is the timeout when we are downloading it from SP01.
Is there anyway i can download from SAP to a local file either in excel or as a PDF file.

You can download the spool to file at SP01 -> Mark the spool request to download the click on Spool request -> Forward -> Save to local file
If the request time out you can increase parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time but this will require a system restart and probably once you have downloaded the file you'll need to return the parameter value to the previous one as it can potentially cause performance problems if left with large value.

Is it possible to have Multiple Spool requests in one batch job overview?

While running one of my z program in back ground, there are two spools generated (one by write statement and one by OPEN_FORM statement and both the spools are available in SP01 Transaction), but when i see the job overview in transaction SM37, I only see one spool request (that of the last spool request). Can any body in the group please tell me is it possible to see multiple spool requests in the job overview of one Abap program and if yes, how?

Hi Madhuri,
Call open form write form and close form in loop so that till sales order remains in the loop the form will continue to print. In this way all sales order in internal table will print in the same spool.

I have one requirement to be completed , i need to send the out put of the report via mail in pdf format. for that what i did was, iam executing report in background and creating spool request and converting it to pdf and sending the file.
now the problem is, its a customer ledger report, for each customer i need to create a new spool request and send mail to that particular customer, now my dought is how to create multiple spool requests for a single pro and how i need to go about it.
And one more question is can we create a spool request for a report which is running in online.

output_options-tdnewid = 'X'.
and then using
job_output_info-spoolids
create a pdf using
call function 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'

i have given the dispatch time in further data of o/p as 'Send with application own transaction'.
now, when i save and click print preview button i get an error as

How to send as an email the spool request?

Dear Experts,
My last post was Email background schedule report to gmail or yahoo mail .
I got solution but it's work as a notification which we can say the after report run it triggers mail that report is completed as this time.
But i required the thing how to send a spool request of a report as an email attachment.
it will be in .xls or .pdf or xyz format.
It was the additional task which was required by my organization.
I also want to know the following things.
1. what is sap default configuration and system behind it.
2. what the things abaper have to check.
3. what is bcs_examples & where do i found these bcs_example8.
Please guide me to explore my knowledge.
