Increase Messaging

I am currently on the Nation Talk FS 700 plan for $60/month plus 3 extra lines @ $9.99/ each.  It appears that this plan has been discontinued and is now replaced by a slightly different plan name with 700 anytime minutes for $89.99 month.  I'd like to upgrade messaging allowances for 2 of my lines (for my kids) from 250 mgs at $5/month to 500 msgs at $10/month, but it doesn't appear that I can do this online without upgrading my entire plan to the $89.99 plan.  I've tried calling Verizon, but you can't make this change over the phone...the stupid message refers to you "My Verizon" online.  I couldn't even figure out how to get representative to talk to.  I've spent so much time today trying to find out how I can do this that I am really frustrated with the LACK of customer service.  There's not even an icon on this website that I can click on to chat with some live person!!  Can anyone tell me if I can upgrade my kids' lines without changing my plan and pay the extra $29.99/mo + the messaging?? Thanks.

You should probably look again. The $89.98 is for the 1400min/month plan, not the 700 min plan you are currently on.
Edit: I still see the $69.98 plan for 700min/month for the 1st 2 lines.

  • Increase Message Monitor timeout?

    Hi,
    when filtering on messages in RWB Message Monitor I get the following exception:
    Service call exception; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
    Is there a timeout parameter available that can be extended?
    Br
    Olof

    Hi Olof
    java.net.SocketTimeoutException --> This normally indicates a network firewall / connectivity issue. Looks like there is some problem in the network connectivity between the XI server and your Webservice.
    XI will by default try to restart the message 3 times at intervals of 5 minutes before the status of the message is changed from Waiting to System Error and that is why you are facing the Waiting message .
    Just check from your network admin if the netwrok connectivity between the XI server and the webservice has been closed.If there is a proxy server, then you would need to add the proxy server setting in the Receiver SOAP adapter with the credentials.
    Thanks!

  • Increase Messages limit to above 60 in Nokia 6265

    Dear All,
    I am unable to store more than 60 messages all incl inbox+sent items + archive in my Nokia 6265 phone.. i have tried all setting using phone memory only, using card memory only, and using both phone + card memory.. pl Help...

    It could be a bug in the firmware version of you phone. Take your phone to a Nokia Service Centre and have the firmware updated. If that does not fix the issue it could be a design limitation.

  • Why is the Thunderbird main screen message list text so small - and how can I change it

    I see lots and lots of complaints but NO suitable answer! Most answers don't even answer the question but instead tell how to increase MESSAGE font size - not the main screen "message list". Suggestions to change screen resolution are common but are ludicrous. One would have to change resolution every time they went in or out of Thunderbird! CTRL+ is also suggested but does not work on the message list. Creating and inserting CSS into the profile is a ridiculous suggestion for most users.
    Why is there no user friendly setting provided for text size on this screen?

                           I have given few points where i should drill and find out the solution to my Client.Could any one help me in getting some few more points where my client will be benificial. Please help me out in this regard.
    The Points are as follows.
    Customer Benefits:
    ü  Reduce the business risk of deploying new or migration of business critical systems and minimizes the chance of a high profile failure in the production environment."
    ü  Removal of functional flaws related to data volume and synchronization issues not identified by functional testing
    ü  Provide a high level of confidence that the XI is capable of processing  messages with realistic data volumes before transported to production.
    ü  Collection of performance metrics for XI under increasing message volume which enables technical team to make and validate tuning decisions prior to migration .

  • Thunderbird **Main Screen** Font is WAY TOO small - and there are no provisions to change that text size!

And changing advanced settings is only an option for a guru - from my experience less than 10% of the folks I know would even look at the advanced settings - and less than 10% of those few would actually attempt such changes. This has been an ongoing complaint for a looong time.
    It's time someone stepped up to the plate and provided a reasonable method of changing the size of the text on this screen.
    Or do you want to limit you users to only programmer types?

    I have recently made the switch in the last week to Thunderbird from Apple Mail. I have been a Firefox user for many years. Near enough from the beginning. So far I am impressed with Thunderbird but it is lacking something that I don't get with Firefox. Font size is a big issue for me too and it's straining my already short sighted and possibly making (damaging) my eyesight more by using Thunderbird.
    Though I agree with everything you are saying. I am one of those users who would prefer to change things within thunderbird itself rather than go and install another third party addon. I by no means am a guru but I have a fairly good understanding of things and would like to learn more about the about:config side of things treading carefully. I have tweaked things in Firefox this way. and disabled some items for security reasons. I am having difficulty finding info within the Mozilla site on this side of things and have yet to go down the search engine route for research into this.
    I would like to change not only the main message list as you suggest but also the From, Subject, Reply To, To and Route content along with the Reply, Forward, Archive btns along with any other content etc, above the main message content. As well as my folders.
    I feel Thunderbird is lacking accessibility features for those with bad vision or using smaller screen sizes. What I would like is a + and - with percentage btn like in Firefox that zooms in and out the complete page in a more responsive web like way. This would greatly improve things for many users. I'm sorry Mozilla but being able to zoom in and out with a keyboard shortcut in the main message content is not good enough.

  • Adober Reader 9.0: annots.api Crashes

    I tried deploying Adobe Reader 9.0 to several campus computer labs I manage. I am using roaming user profiles, but I don't have AppData redirected - it stays on the local hard drive.
    I discovered that while Reader 9 works OK for Administrators, it crashes at startup for people with just regular "User"-level privileges. This problem goes away if I remove the annots.api plugin file. Has anybody else seen this issue? I've gone back to Reader 8.1.2 in the meantime.

    I have used the Nokia 6265 handset for just about 24hrs but I have been able to check almost all features of this handset.I think its a good buy for the price between Rs15-17K.It has got many positives and hardly any negatives.
    1) How can Ypu update software of Nokia 6265 Handset?
    2) Hoe can you increase message storage capacity of 6265? as it is storing only 90 to 100 message.
    3) How can you send big message ( above 160 charactor) through to ur 6265 cdma handset?.
    Ketan C...

    The only way to increase the message storage ability is to free Phone Memory. The Phone Memory is shared with you contacts, bookmarks, gallery.
    Your memory card will not help you to store more messages unfortunately.

  • Displaying text on screen while connecting not working

    Hi all,
    I'm building a game to be played over Bluetooth. While the connection is made, I want to display a text message to the user stating the connection is made. Everything seems to work allright, but the messge is not shown. What goes wrong?
    Some code. I have a MyMIDlet, that creates MyGame. The MyGame object is responsible for creating the connection. MyGame implements Runnable
    public class MyGame implements Runnable {
         // Some code omitted
         public void run() {
              createSplashScreen();
                     // More code omitted
         private void createSplashScreen() {
    System.out.println ("myGame.createSplashScreen, informing players on connection process");
              String[] message;
              if (isServer) {
                   message = new String[5];
                   message[0] = "Waiting";
                   message[1] = "on an";
                   message[2] = "Opponent";
                   message[3] = "to Join";
                   message[4] = "the Game";
              else {
                   message = new String[3];
                   message[0] = "Searching";
                   message[1] = "for a Game";
                   message[2] = "to Join";
              // Create the canvas and set it to the current display
    System.out.println ("myGame.createSplashScreen, creating SplashScreen");
              mySplashScreen = new MySplashScreen(message, FONT);
              mySplashScreen.addCommand(myMIDlet.getExitCommand());
              mySplashScreen.setCommandListener(myMIDlet.getCommandListener() );
              myMIDlet.setCanvas(mySplashScreen);
              mySplashScreen.repaint();
         }The previous code creates a MySplashScreen object:
    public class BluePongSplashScreen extends Canvas {
             // Code omitted
         public MySplashScreen (String [] theMessage, Font theFont) {
              messageLength = theMessage.length;
              message = new String [messageLength];
              System.arraycopy(theMessage, 0, message, 0, messageLength);
              font = theFont;
              // Get dimensions screen
              width  = getWidth();
              height = getHeight();
              // Start displaying message at first position
              messageIndex = messageLength - 1;
        public void showNotify() {
    System.out.println ("mySplashScreen.showNotify, creating new mytTask");
             mytTask = new MyTimerTask(this);
            new Timer().scheduleAtFixedRate(mytTask, 1500, 1000);
         public void paint (Graphics graphics){
    System.out.println ("mySplashScreen.paint, repainting message screen");
              int textX = width/2;
              int textY = height;
              // Clear screen
              graphics.setColor(COLOR_LIGHT_BLUE);
              graphics.fillRect(0, 0, width, height);
              // Set font color
              graphics.setColor(COLOR_WHITE);
              // Write message word by word on the screen
              messageIndex = messageIndex % messageLength;
              for (int i = 0; i <= messageIndex; i++) {
    System.out.println ("mySplashScreen.paint, message[" + i + "]=" + message);
                   graphics.drawString(message[i], textX, textY,
                             Graphics.TOP | Graphics.HCENTER);
                   textY += font.getHeight();
    And then the last code of the problem, the MyTimeTask object:
    public class MyTimerTask extends TimerTask {
          * The canvas repainted periodically
         private MySplashScreen mysScreen;
          * Constructs the timer task
          * @param theScreen the canvas to be repainted
         public MyTimerTask (MySplashScreen theScreen) {
              mysScreen = theScreen;
          * Task that repaints the splash screen
         public void run () {
    System.out.println ("mytTask.run, increasing message index");
              mysScreen.increaseMessageIndex();
              mysScreen.repaint();
    }Here is some logging I copied from the text box of the WTK25 window:
    myMIDlet.commandAction: Thread myGame ended.
    myGame.createSplashScreen, informing players on connection process
    myGame.run: isGameCompleted=false
    mySplashScreen.showNotify, creating new mytTask
    mySplashScreen.paint, repainting message screen
    mySplashScreen.paint, message[0]=Waiting
    mySplashScreen.paint, message[1]=on an
    mySplashScreen.paint, message[2]=Opponent
    mySplashScreen.paint, message[3]=to Join
    mySplashScreen.paint, message[4]=the Game
    mytTask.run, increasing message index
    mySplashScreen.increaseMessageIndex, index=5
    mySplashScreen.paint, repainting message screen
    mySplashScreen.paint, message[0]=Waiting
    mytTask.run, increasing message index
    mySplashScreen.increaseMessageIndex, index=1
    mySplashScreen.paint, repainting message screen
    mySplashScreen.paint, message[0]=Waiting
    mySplashScreen.paint, message[1]=on an
    mytTask.run, increasing message indexSo clearly, the objects are created, and doing (almost) all their work, except displaying the text on the screen.
    Anyone knows how to solve this problem?
    Maik

    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.

  • Lync within Office 365

    What is the size limit in bytes of an IM session? If there is a size limit, how can I determine how big the a ongoing IM session is? I sometimes have long IM sessions for meetings and I have noticed that for the meetings of 3-4 hours, parts of the IM session
    transcript starting from the beginning of the IM session, are lost once a size limit is reached. I also did not receive any message stating that the IM session was approaching any size limit?
    I have heard that longer IM sessions are automatically converted to IM stories. But even so, these stories seem to have a limit as well.

  • Price Difference In Bill From Edge To 3g

    Does anyone know how much the monthly bill goes up when you upgrade form Edge to 3G? My friends all claim it's only $5 more a month but I could have sworn the AT&T rep told me it was $20 more. Anyone have any insight? I know everyone's phone plan is different but just some basic info here would help. Thanks

    If you use the 200 messaging allowance included with the unlimited data plan for the first generation iPhone - you aren't paying for an increased messaging allowance, it will cost you $15 more per month to have the same with the iPhone 3G or 3GS.
    $10 more per month for the unlimited data plan, and $5 more per month for a 200 messaging allowance. If you are already paying for an increased messaging allowance, it will cost you $10 more per month for the unlimited data plan.

  • XI/PI Versions

    Hi,
    Can someone give me all the major releases( 1.X, 2.X etc ) for XI/PI ?
    Justifying with SAP links would help.
    Regards and Thank you,
    Jayanth

    HI
    Features in SAP XI 3.0
    Standards-based process integration:  SAP XI enables the integration of collaborative processes across multiple application components and enterprise boundaries.  Processes are integrated using standards-based XML messaging.
    Integration knowledge management u2013 Integration knowledge ranging from design time to configuration time is stored and managed in a central integration repository and integration directory.  This includes information about interface schema, required mappings, business scenarios, and business processes.
    Prepackaged integration content u2013 SAP solutions based on SAP NetWeaver use SAP XI to model cross-components business processes and scenarios.  Interface schema and required mapping are defined along the way.
    Cross-component BPM u2013 It has cross component business processes and scenarios modeling which allows you to drive and control complex business processes across business applications and enterprise boundaries.  SAP XI covers the full process life cycle, including design, automation, execution, and monitoring. The collaboration knowledge in SAP XI allows you to describe integration processes from a top-down, high-level perspective, rather than having to hard code them into attached components.
    Heterogeneous landscape connectivity u2013 Adapters allow connectivity with all kinds of applications in a heterogeneous landscape.  SAP provides a range of adapters with SAP XI to integrate not only existing SAP solutions through IDoc and BAPI interfaces, but also non-SAP systems through file, messaging, database or Web service interfaces.  An open adapter framework allows the use of partner adapters to extend connectivity options to legacy and packaged applications as well as proprietary technology platforms.
    B2B integration u2013 B2B integration requires the ability to maintain partner information and communicate with partners through an agreed protocol.  SAP XI stores collaboration partner profiles centrally in the integration directory and communicate with partners based on this data.  A Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) allows the integration partners that donu2019t use SAP XI or another integration solution.
    Web-service management u2013 SAP XI handles the send/receive Web-service calls in an advanced manner and can add value-added services. SAP XI is able to evaluate Web-service calls based on the content and definitions as defined in the integration directory.  SAP XI selects the appropriate definition and sends it on as a Web service, or transforms the Web-service call to the format and protocol that the receiving destination expects.
    PI7.1
    The newest release of SAP XI was released in the 4th quarter of 2007.  It is now called PI (Process Integration) 7.1.
    Historically, SAP upgrades consists of large, comprehensive releases that compel companies to upgrade in order to take advantage of new functionalities.  PI 7.1 is brimming with new functionalities and these are the business benefits:
    u2022     strategic u2013 business innovation and synchronized information improves decision pure technology upgrade and/or retrofit of custom modifications into new standard making
    u2022     functional u2013 process improvement leads to improved productivity
    u2022     technical u2013functionality
    In todayu2019s ever changing world of technology and business innovations, the ability to accelerate innovation and develop operation excellence better and faster than competitors is critical to a companyu2019s success.  Business processes are the key to unlocking the potential of these strategies for competitive differentiation. This upgrade paves the road to an enterprise SOA (eSOA) which allows companies to quickly build and modify business processes to adapt to rapidly changing markets.  With enterprise SOA, companies can unify stand-alone processes to quickly compose new end-to-end processes, selectively redesign existing processes and facilitate seamless process design and execution across company boundaries to take advantage of business partnersu2019 expertise.  Enterprise SOA (eSOA) unleashes the untapped potential of existing business process within and across company boundaries.
    The mission of SAP PI 7.1 is to provide ONE integration platform for all types of business -- SAP and non-SAP, A2A, B2B, BPM, service enabling and BAM.  It saves operational costs and enable process transparency for all scenarios and leverage open systems.
    The purpose of SAP PI is not to reinvent, but to leverage the investments you made
    into your existing integration landscape and arrive at your new service enabled
    landscape in an evolutionary manner.
    Below are the various business scenarios and processes available in PI 7.1:
    Application-to-Application (A2A) u2013 It supports message-based and standard-based integration of internal company processes by seamlessly connecting SAP and non-SAP applications.
    Business-to-Business (B2B) u2013 It provides functions to create and manage collaboration profiles and agreements between business partners.  It supports B2B industry standards such as RosettaNet Implementation Framework (RNIF) or CIDX. The Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) is used to exchange XML documents between small business partners or subsidiaries.
    Business Process Management (BPM) provides functionality to adapt systems to changing processes.  It supports the entire life cycle of business processes u2013 from planning, implementation and monitoring to optimization.
    u2022It gives the business users the ability to directly model, manage, monitor and analyze business processes
    u2022Enables continuous process improvement and the dynamic modification of business processes
    u2022Provides the ability to change process rules without additional IT investment, thus extending the companyu2019s core business investment and maximize the return on its strategic assets.
    u2022Provides greater visibility into critical business operations for better decision making by delivering the right information at the right time
    u2022Allows the integration of people, applications and internal external resources.
    SAP PI 7.1 new features and capabilities are listed below:
    Enterprise Service Repository (ESR)
    SAP has developed a comprehensive approach and a wide range of tools to support the service identification process and is business driven with a high degree of partner participation.  The business drivers in focus are :
         business process automation
         business process innovation
         user efficiency and deployment flexibility
    SAP refers to this set as the inventory of enterprise services.  The inventory is known as Enterprise Services Inventory.  The Enterprise Services Inventory is an integral part of the Enterprise SOA (eSOA) strategy.  It provides the enterprise services to fulfill business needs.  The tools supporting the inventory is the Enterprise Service Repository (ESR).
    This is based on the Integration Repository and is the design time repository of service object for ESA.  The advantages of having this central repository include
    Orderly development
    Reuse of existing data and leverage existing investment
    Ease of development
    Model driven development
    Service orchestration
    The Services Registry is the UDDI part of the ESR which enables service consumers to find services.
    Enterprise Service Oriented Architecture (eSOA)
    eSOA in PI 7.1 addresses the shortcoming of the previous XI architecture.  It provides the foundation needed to create a modernized and responsive technology environment.  The typical SOA approach tends to focus exclusively on the technology framework and neglect the larger business process.  A combined focus on both application and infrastructure is something that SAP provides called Enterprise SOA (eSOA).  It is SOA plus Enterprise Services which enables partners and customers to plug in reusable application snippets and enable flexibility within business processes.
    It is a business-driven software architecture that increases adaptability, flexibility, openness and cost efficiency. This architecture elevates the design, composition and management of Web services to address enterprise requirements.
    Major mapping enhancements as well as reusability of user defined functions across mappings.  It supports the use of parameters in mapping programs which gives it more flexibility and applicability by allowing the transfer of values at configuration time.  Currently, parameterized mappings are supported in Message, Java and XSLT mappings.
    Folders concepts are introduced as an additional option to organize projects and interfaces. It is available in both the Enterprise Service Repository (ESR) and the Integration Directory (ID).
    The main benefit of folders is to be able to create access authorization.  This helps prevent unauthorized display or changes to configurations of an integration process or specific objects.
    Advanced  Adapter Engine (AAE) is the evolution of the Adapter Engine (AE) as known in previous releases.  Its capabilities are:
    u2022It enables for end-to-end message processing without any help from the Integration Engine (IE) during runtime.
    u2022It increases message processing speed and throughput by reducing latencies and resource consumption (both memory and processing time)
    u2022It is available both centrally (i.e. with installation and instance of IS) and non-centrally
    u2022Its features supports high volume and becomes the cornerstone of customers SOA strategy.
    u2022Local Processing in AAE:  Integration Server (IS) is not involve during runtime (mapping and routing carried out within AAE)
    u2022Classical Processing with AAE:  Processing also within through Integration Server (IS)
    u2022Local processing is feasible for existing java-based adapters.  This represents a performance and resource usage improvement.
    Point-to-Point (P2P) u2013 PI 7.1 provides a tool and infrastructure to centrally design, configure and support P2P connection.  Message types and interface can be designed in the Enterprise Services (ES) Repository without going through the Integration Engine (IE).  Connection configurations and communication channels can be done in the Integration Directory (ID) and configuration objects are automatically propagated to the backend business systems.
    Additional Web Service (WS) standards such as UDDI, WS-BPEL and tasks, WS-RM which provides WS reliable messaging, policy, security and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) which is an XML standard for exchanging authentication and authorization between security domains.
    WS-RM (Web Service-Reliable Messaging) is an open WS standard for asynchronous messaging (EO, EOIO).  Its purpose is to create a generic and open model for ensuring reliable message delivery for Web Services.  It is supported via its own entry through the Integration Engine (IE) and not through the adapter engine.  Other vendors, like Microsoft and IBM, supports WS-RM.

  • Chatserver socket and port problem

    hi,all.
    i write a chat server use java socket. now is more than 2000 users connect to my server. but too many user make the chat message speed slow. now my server is open one port to listen the client connection. who can tell me if i change my server to open multi port to listen the client connection will rather than open one port. or it is same effect.
    please give me some advice. thanks.
    my homepage is:http://www.easyfad.com

    my server system resource is no problem. Have you timed the bus on your machine?
    18% of memory means physical or total. If total is that 18% hitting the hard drive?
    What is your actual network speed? A 100m ethernet has a theoretical speed of about 12 meg per second, in practice you will never get even close to that. A normal ftp transfer might only get 500k per second. And networks can be significantly overloaded.
    What are the configuration parameters for your IP stack? It might be configured incorrectly for the type of traffic and quality of traffic that you are getting.
    The above are all possible things that can affect performance. And there are probably more. Standard OS tools are NOT the best way to measure platform performance. They can often provide misleading numbers, even when one knows what the numbers really mean.
    if i use multi port to create socket connection,
    if it will help to increase message sending speed ? Like I said I can't see how. Something is causing a slowdown. Your NIC can only process so much traffic. If your NIC was the bottle neck and you had two NICs then that would help. But if it was me I really wouldn't try a two NIC solution until I had exhausted every other possibility. First because it is unlikely to the be bottleneck and two because setting up a 2 NIC (or more) server is not plug and go solution.

  • Are they any ways to help performance on JMS

    I need to get as many messages as I can to go thru the JMS queues, is there any way to improve the JMS Queueing performance for PTP ?
    Thanks, John

    Hi John,
    Briefly:
    Start the consumer before you start the producer so that the initial messages do not need to queue.
    DUPS_OK_ACKNOWLEDGE and AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE perform better than CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE.
    Use separate transactional sessions and non-transactional sessions for transactional and non-transactional messages.
    Tune the Destination parameters: a smaller capacity increases message throughput; a higher redelivery delay and lower redelivery limit reduces the overhead.
    Choose NON_PERSISTENT messages wherever appropriate to avoid the persistency overhead.
    Set the TimeToLive value as low as feasible (default is for messages to never expire).
    Receive messages asynchronously with a MessageListener implementation.
    Choose the message type that minimizes memory overheads.
    HTH
    Martin
