Increasing Disk Space on VMware ISE

hi,
i would like to increase the disk space for Vmware based cisco ise to 600gb.
Increasing the raw disk space is fine on VMware, but how will the ISE or Linux OS modify the partition to recognise the extra disk space

Refreshing an old thread, but I was faced with this recently.
If you're prepared to roll up your sleeves with Linux, I've figured out a procedure. In my case I couldn't rehost the license since it's an NFR version - and yes Tarik is correct a restore doesn't bring in the license.

According to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/learnmore/vmsoa-172279.html this is a Virtualbox disk image and your question is about resizing a Virtualbox disk image, which is probably better placed in the VM forum e.g. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and SunRay Clients
To my knowledge there is no easy command to simply resize a disk image using the VirtualBox Virtual Disk Manager and you will have to either add another disk and play with Linux LVM, or clone the existing disk image to a larger disk image. i.e. VBoxManage clonehd --existing oldhd.vdi newhd.vdi
Both steps are not easy to explain. I suggest to check the VirtualBox documentation at http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/UserManual.html or search the internet for information about how to resize a vdi disk image.

Oracle 10g increase disk space

I am very new with oracle and can not find an answer to this question:
Is it possible to increase the disk space after installation, e.g. by configuring of an additional disk?
(If yes, in what way)
The scenario is:
After some time after our Oracle installation the disk wiil be full and we wiil need to increase the disk space without to lose the existing data.

What is about the old datafile (old data), can I keep two data files assingded to the single tablespace?
-- 1)You can use 3rd party tools like Acronis Disk Director Suite to increase the drive space without formatting
2)You can have new drive and you can move your datafiles to that new drive.
I don't want to copy the existing data to the new drive.
Is it possible to configure an additional drive for the same tablespace

Increase disk space allotted to Windows

I have a Mac Mini with following config: Mac OS X 10.5.8; 120 GB HD, 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB 667MHz DDR2 SD RAM. I have installed a licensed version of Windows XP SP2 and allotted it 10GB of space. Now I find the space woefully inadequate.
_How can I increase the disk space allotted to Windows without having to reinstall Windows?_ For a re-installation would mean downloading all the updates from SP3 till date all over again, also the drivers etc.
P.S. I need Win XP on the Mini for my children. They are taught Win XP at school.

hi, can any one please advise what should I do for my server? Dell poweredge T630 cannot reboot after trying to add new memory card. Even I remove the newly added memory card and only keep the original one there, it still cannot reboot. Before I try to add the memory card, it works well without any rebooting issues.

So, forgive me if I miss use some terms but what I'm trying to do is populate a variable inside a method with objects. My assumption is that it's a string and when you input an object it returns null. Below is a snippet of the code. The first time $This.Vavlues is where I'm having some trouble. My goal is to give the method a user name and a table and it generates a SQL query for me. :)

Disk space increase without requests

Hello,
hope someone can help with a question. We're using APEX and have developed an inhouse app for workspace and disk space requests. I noticued though that the only obvious way to increase disk space on a workspace is through an OAE requests from the workspace. Is there any simpler method from the admin login where I can increase disk to a workspace.

Nigel,
There is no interface provided in Application Express to do this. This is a standard database administration operation, to add datafiles to existing tablespaces. You can find the schema(s) assigned to a workspace using the Service Administration application (apex_admin). This will also show the default tablespace for each schema. You are then free to use the DBA tools of your choice (EM, SQL*PLUS) to add datafiles to tablespaces.

The server is failing to download some updates. Event ID 10032 (ran out of disk space & extended volume, still got error)

On Friday, 9/17 @ 7 am, after deselecting Windows 2003 in products, I ran Server Cleanup Wizard (as well as sqlcmd -I -i"WsusDBMaintenance.sql" -S "np:\\.\pipe\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##SSEE\sql\query"), and 0 bytes were freed which I thought
odd.   I then selected Windows Server 2012 R2 and Office 2013 since we're going to be using those.
After this, on 9/19 @ 7:30am, the server had the message:      Event 364 Content file download failed. Reason: There is not enough space on the disk.    Source File: /d/msdownload/update/software/secu/2014/04/coreservermui-it-it_ebb7e1e8d487b90ffd719f06122a3db947b3f949.cab
Destination File: e:\WSUS\WsusContent\49\EBB7E1E8D487B90FFD719F06122A3DB947B3F949.cab.
At some time during the day on 9/19, our SAN admin increased the volume (all server's volumes are on a SAN) from the SAN end, and I extended it in Disk Mngmt on the WSUS server.   I went home for the weekend
I came back today (9/22), saw I had gotten the "the server is failing to download some updates. Event ID 10032"   on Saturday 9/20 @ 1:30am.   I checked the volume \WSUScontent is on (the volume we extended) and it has
17GB free. So I assume space should not still be an issue.
The same 10032 error had occurred on 9/19, at 1:30 pm, but I assume it was before my colleague and I bumped up the disk space. But why it occurred again the next day I'm not sure.
However, since the 10032 error on 9/20 @ 1:30am, it has not reoccured, and no yellow or red event messages. So possibly all is well now. Could it have been that WSUS was being sluggish to recognize the increased disk space, even though Windows
itself recognized it?

But your steps don't really address deleting all (solely) 2003 updates.
Correct. First, because you cannot DELETE updates, unless they are expired or old revisions, and use the Server Cleanup Wizard to do that.
Second, because the article was about removing *unneeded* updates. It does not consider the scenario where a product category is being retired
When I go to my "2003" update view, sorting by Any Except Declined, and Status Any, I still see tons of 2003 ones, some solely for it, others that apply to 2003 and other OSs. I want to leave the latter, but delete the ones solely for
2003. Not just superseded ones, but ALL that are solely for 2003.
You cannot delete updates. You can DECLINE updates, if that's what you want to do.
So let's talk a minute about these updates that might be applicable to operating systems other than Windows Server 2003. Let's be practical about the other operating systems listed. If you look closely, I suspect you will discover that those "other
operating systems" are either Windows XP or Windows 2000, but nothing else. Do updates for Windows XP or Windows 2000 really matter to you? I suspect not.
The reason I highly suspect this is because the practice of building packages targeted at multiple operating systems was terminated when Windows Vista was released (actually I think it happened with the release of WSUS v3, but this is just a matter of trivia,
the relevant point is that it's not done anymore, and has not been done for many years).
Ergo, I know for a fact, that NONE of the updates applicable for Windows Server 2003, will be applicable for any newer operating system. Ergo, it probably doesn't matter at all, so just SelectAll -> Decline if that's what you want to do.

What kind of hardware do I buy to add more disk space?

I like to know how can I increase my disk space on my Mac OSX 10.3.9? What is the name of the product I need to buy? I made a mistake and thought I needed more memory to get more disk space. First, let us get some info on your computer. Boot up your computer in Panther. Then go to Apple Menu > About this Mac. Click the button More Info. This opens up the System Profiler. The top item in the sidebar is Hardware. Click on this if it not already selected. On the right side under the title Hardware Overview is a list of specs. Copy this and paste it in your response to this post. That will give me the basic information about your computer.
Now to some of your questions. Your computer has two kinds of memory: 1. RAM memory, is like your brain. It holds things in your mind while you process information. When you stop thinking about it the information is not there anymore. 2. Your Hard Disk Drive, is like a notebook in which you write down the stuff you think about. It keeps a permanent record. If the notebook is not big enough it soon fills up and you can't store information anymore.
That is about where you are. You need to increase disk space. There are two basic ways to do that. 1. Remove stuff from your Hard Disk Drive (HDD). That increases the amount of free space, but it does not increase the capacity of the HDD. The leads us to the second way. 2. Replace the HDD. You cannot make it bigger, you have to buy a bigger drive and install it in your computer. That will give you more disk space. The System Profiler will tell you how big your drive is. Just under Hardware in the sidebar is ATA. That is your hard drive. Click on it. On the right side it gives you all the information. Note particularly under Macintosh HD the heading Capacity. It tells you how much your drive can hold. Note, too Available, which tells you how much empty space you have on your drive.
When I upgraded to Panther I thought I was also increasing my "disk" space capacity? True? Or am I confusing myself more?
Panther is an Operating System. It is what makes your computer function. It makes your computer able to run applications. It is installed on your HDD, and adds power to your computer, but it does not add disk space. Only a Hard Drive does that.
OK, that's enough for now. Post back with further questions and I will try to answer in the best way I can.

Increase disk size for virtual server

Hi,
A virtual server system drive is currently at 90%full. How to safely allocate more disk space to the system drive of that virtual server without causing issues to the installed Operating systems on that drive.
I read through the Virtual Iron documentation and nothing mention about increasing disk space for virtual server.

I was hoping to increase the virtual storage of the drive attached to virtual servers and not the actually physical storage.
I was looking around in it and found was able to increase the disk space by by editing the virtual storage disk.
I tested creating a new disk (5GB), increase the disk space(10GB) and login to virtual server and extend the new disk with the unallocated disk space.
It does seem to work and appear as 15GB.
I just concern if windows operating is installed on that disk, will it cause any issue if I extend it with the unallocated disk space?
Or it's safe to do so?

in DB02 (I am running on Oracle so perhaps it may look different as yours...)
Hit Current sizes.
In the next screen you'll see your table spaces. The size is the reserved size on your hard disk(s); used, is your data stored. When you delete data from BW, eg PSA; the used space will decrease but the Size will remain until your DBA or basis guys reorganize the table space (or shrink the DB in MSSQL).
One thing to remember: when you delete PSA, sometimes the request is just logically deleted but the DATA is still in the table. You can run RSRV in order to verify that (elementary test, PSA, consistency).
So if you have deleted considerable amount of data and you think the % of free space more than acceptable and your basis is till telling you to reduce the amount of data, ask them to reorganize the database....

Managing disk space

Hello Mac gurus!
I'm wondering if there is any way for me to manage the disk space taken up by different user accounts on the same laptop. My laptop has two user folders on it. One of them, the one I use most often, has only 100MB left of space. The other, which I use less frequently but which I need to have on the machine, has 25GB of space available.
Is there a way to transfer to my main user folder's allocation the disk space that my laptop is allocating to this second, less-frequently-used user folder?

I do think FileVault is probably the problem. I don't like it in general, and I suspected it here because a FileVault user account actually IS inside a separate volume - a password-encrypted disk sparse-image which is normally invisible because it is in /Users/.username/ , a hidden folder. It sounds like that disk-image volume is out of space.
The size of the FileVault sparse-image is normally set to the size of the entire disk when created, so running out of space doesn't usually happen unless the image file gets corrupted. However if the FileVault account was migrated into your present computer from an earlier computer with a smaller disk, it doesn't get updated and won't take advantage of the increased disk space. Had you done this?
Regardless, the goal now should be to free up enough space to turn off FileVault. How big is your HD, and how big are your two user accounts? Is the second account also FileVault protected?

When i press command+I (Get Info) i see that there is 140 GB "Available Space" on my hard disk but when i click on my hard disk icon on the desktop, and then press "space" i only see 102 GB free!! What the f*???

If you are seeing daily increases and decrease in your disk utilization (for example it increases during the day/overnaight but in the morning the disk space has recovered what you are seeing is the impact of Tar optimization.
The Tar Persistence manager is the underlying storage mechanism for CRX. Data is stored in append only tar files. This means the when you update a node or property the new values are written to the Tar files, the indexes are updated to point to the new location, but the old data is also still left in the file. This mechanism allows for a much faster write mechanism. So the more you frequently you update existing content in your repository the larger you Tar files becomes.
There is a process called Tar File Optimization that by default is scheduled to run from 2 AM to 5 AM server time. This process identifies all the orphaned data in the Tar files and deletes, there by reducing the size of the tar files on disk.
So if you are in heavy content migration mode, or moving large amounts of content between instances you can see large swings in your disk space utilization as the Tar file balloons up during the day and then shrinks back down over night. In some cases depending on how large your repository is the 3 hours allotted by default is not sufficent to complete the optimizaiton so you may not be recovering all your disk space. During normal production operations this will normally average out over time and the 3 hour window is enough. However during periods of heavy usage, especially during QA or content migration you may find that your tar files are ever increasing in size. If that happens you need pick a period of time over say a weekend and trigger the Tar File optimization to run until complete to recover as much of your disk space as possible.

As someone else pointed out you may also have an issue with your data store which requires a different clean up method.
Another possible culprit is your Lucene index files. Depending on your data model and repository size you can swings in your Lucene indexes because like the Tar File it periodically cleans itself up and large amounts of content change can cause this cycle to become more pronounced.
