Increasing speaker phone volume past maximum

I work in the health care industry and I have to speak with patient's via translator services with my phone. I place my phone in speaker mode and max out the volume. However a lot of times the translators speak softly or the volume just isn't loud enough for my patients. I know the speakers can go louder because I play music that's double or triple the volume of the calls. Is there a way to further increase the volume on the phone? Applications? Thanks.

you can increase but its depend on your speaker capacity if you increase it more then speakers capacity i will damage you speaker.

I have increased speaker phone settings to maximum both on the side slide and in settings. Are there any add-ons which can increase speaker phone volume?

  • Since update yesterday my speaker phone volume is real low

Since updated my Galaxy 5 on yesterday the speaker phone volume is real low..anyone else experiencing this or know whats going on? I haven't had this phone 3 weeks and now this....

We want to see you enjoying the update on your new phone, stina34. Are ringtones and other audio like music still playing at the same level as before the update? While on a call, have you tried to adjust the volume up and down? Is the call volume when not using speaker phone still at a louder level?

  • Low speaker phone volume

What's the deal with the speaker phone on the 3gs? It appears to be using the same volume as the earpiece speaker. You can barely hear the person talking when you have it on speaker phone.
However when using the Ipod or something like Pandora the speaker volume is really loud.

Yea, that has been one of my biggest complaints about the iphone. The speaker phone volume is embarassing, you can barely hear the person talk when you put them on speaker in regular environment. I wish they would make it as loud as the music volume. I remember Apple releasing a software update to make the speaker phone louder back with the 1.0 software series. I hope they do another one of those updates and make it loud as ****..lol.

  • Speaker phone volume

I have noticed the speaker on the iphone sounds great when listening to music, it's loud and clear. But when I try to use it as a speaker phone the volume is so low I can't hear the person on the other end at all. Is there a separate volume control that I'm missing?

The update has not worked for me. The speaker phone volume is so low that I can hardly hear it at all. Funny, because the iPod volume works fine through the speaker.

  • Speaker phone volume vs Ring volume

The ring volume is always able to go very loud..why can't the speaker phone volume do that same?

Its a function of the size of the speaker - turn it up much higher and the cone will break. The speaker is about 1mm across - its not a ghettoblaster and in a quiet room, its very audible.

  • Phone Volume - Speaker Phone Volume

Hi, just got an iphone - I like the phone, but the earpiece volume and speaker phone volume makes carrying on a simple phone conversation difficult.
I have adjusted the volume on the side AND in the setting it is slide all of the way to the right....
Am I out of volume options?
Any help would be great - thanks!!!!

Boy, what can you say about difference of opinion?
Anyway, I must personally disagree a bit with both davistld01 and Nick Buraglio. I guess my problem with their testimony is that it's delivered like a tire iron, and I think the issue is slightly more complex...
First, I agree that I would like more headroom in the gain of both the earpiece and, much more so, the speakerphone. But the devil is in the details...
Having had both a Treo 650, and most recently a 700p (still have it), I found the speaker volume of Palm Treo's quite wanting. But Palm Treo owners have had the benefit of the extremely popular 3rd party app, "VolumeCare". This nips the problem in the bud... And there was a brief period when I upgraded to the 700p that VolumeCare hadn't been updated, and the reintroduction of standard volume was a rude awakening... iPhone I find similar, except the speaker sound is a bit more 'tinny'. But, unlike Treo whose speaker is on the device back, iPhone's is on the bottom. This helps, because you can hold it with your hand such that the sound is directed (by your hand) forward. It makes a big diff, and is not awkward IMO, but natural. This may be exhibited by the commentary about using the speakerphone on a table, which essentially accomplishes the same thing.
And on the earpiece, I find it pretty similar to most mobile phones. That is, the effective volume depends greatly (maybe a bit more than most) on how you align it with your ear canal. If off by just a bit, gain drops off significantly. And if I'm in a noisy restaurant, say, I can press a bit against my ear and get ample sound volume.
So, two final observations... First, again I would like to see more headroom in gain. Second, it seems that the available iPod speaker volume is very good IMO. So it appears that there's ample gain available. It just seems that it's too limited. This makes me think that the deficit can be corrected with an operating firmware update.

  • Can I increase the phone volume?  I might return the phone...

I've had the iPhone for two days now and I just started testing out the phone functionality and the maxed out volume is VERY LOW. I've heard about the iPhone having low volume but this seems really bad and I might return the phone because of it...
Unfortunately, I will lose 10% of $500 plus any other AT&T charges so I'm hoping that a workaround is available.
    Can anybody help me out?

When using the phone, try moving it around on your ear. It sounds good when you finally find the spot where the ear piece hole is directly over your ear canal.
Good advice. I find that even small changes in position make a dramatic difference to the perceived loudness.

  • VOLUME and SPEAKER PHONE

I had to return my 8GB Iphone yesterday as the volume on the handset and speaker phone was absolutely poor! I need my phone for BUSINESS and not being able to hear is a large issue for me. The Apple salespeople at the store tried to keep me quiet and hushed me to the back for the return. I was by no means causing a scene just wanted to return it. The Apple techs and salespeople acknowledged the problem and said it has been the reason for most of the returns and were not sure of any updates. When the Store Manager came over to give me a credit he didnt speak one word to me. Sorta Rude...
I compared it to my Blackberry Curve and there is NO comparison of the headset volume or Speaker phone volume.
I am so dissapointed but will try generation 2 when it comes out! The Iphone is a great phone but Apple HAS to figure out the quirks and bugs.
For all you critics it is a Great phone and has some great tools and features but it is a PHONE and my MAIN purpose is to talk on it! And when you cant hear then their is a TRUE ISSUE. And yes I took the plastic off too.
I hope Apple gets this solved. As I would consider re-buying!
    Cheers
    BD

Of course most believe it is a solvable issue. The problem is that for those of us that need to use this for the phone feature the majority of the time, volume is an absolute neccesity. The 14 day return period is running out and some of us do not have the luxury of having more than one cell phone that we can use for the phone purpose until the issue is resolved. Any why should anyone expect one to do that? The phone was $650 with tax, then $80 a month for something you cannot use daily, is truly asking a bit much unless you have money to burn.
I'm not knocking the iPhone, I think it is a great item, but as a phone, it needs to have appropriate volume. And if Apple is not talking and releasing a statement about it, why should anyone wait around for something that may or may not be fixed in the very near future or even how long 'very near' may be?.... Especially when you cannot even get two Apple reps to acknowledge their is an issue with the volume?

  • IPhone 4s speaker volume goes really loud after Siri or speaker phone?

Anyone else notice the speaker phone volume goes really loud on the 4s after using Siri, voice memo, or speaker phone in general? Even when the volume is set low (like one or two) any thoughts? Not for games, music, or movies though.

I apoligize, after I wrote this then it showed like four other threads about it. Sorry for the re-thread.

  • How do I increase voice speaker call volume when ...

    Hi
    http://www.bootstrike.com/NSeriesN95/faq.html
I have got my brand new N85 8GB, I tried the suggestion (197) in the link above to increase voice speaker call volume when I am in a call, but it did not work, neither for the "Speaker" nor for "Handset".
    Any suggestion ?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should increase volume during a phone call with volume keys, unless your keybord is locked during conversation. Try to talk with your phone slided up (open keyboard) and try to increase volume with your side volume controls.
    Good luck

  • How do you increase the voicemail volume on an iPhone 4s ( Verizon ). The phone volume is fine. It is when I retrieve voicemails. Even the speakerphone is faint. I have adjusted the side volume buttons and the volume control in settings. What am I missing?

How do I increase the voicemail volume on an iPhone 4s ( Verizon )? The phone volume is fine. I have adjusted both side volume buttons as well as the volume control in settings.

Number one - that person has given you false information...the Apple store genius bar supports all Apple products whether in or out of warranty.  Checking is free, service on an out of warranty item is not free.
Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
Since you show that you have iOS 7.0.3 you might want to update that iOS to 7.0.4...plug the iPhone in so you are on a solid power source, then while on a WiFi go to Settings > General > Software Update and update to 7.0.4.

thanks, that seamed to work. I had the volume turned all the way up but I guess maybe I needed to repeat that while using phone, sort of two step.. good to know

  • No phone audio but speaker phone works

Since the 2.2 upgrade my phone audio will be dead unless I turn on the speaker phone. Doing a powerdown reset has fixed this in the past, but today no help. I searched the fourms and found others with 2.2 audio issues but in their case the speaker phone is not working, opposite of my issue.
Sometimes it will work normally. Anyone else have this issue or a solution. This problem did not surface until the 2.2 update.
    Thanks

I had the same issue and a restore from backup and a reset to factory default settings did not work. I did notice that when I tried to turn up the volume the phone thought that my headphones were plugged in. I plugged my earbuds in and I could make calls and hear just fine but when I took the earbuds out I could only use the speaker phone.
So I took it into the Apple store and they said that there is a sensor in the earphone jack that can be clogged with dust and dirt. They then preceded to pull out a can of air and sprayed into the headphone jack and it now works just fine. So if you have a can of air give it a try.

  • Can't hear phone calls/button sounds or use speaker phone lg extravert

I tried to make a phone call but can't hear any ringing, the call goes through but nothing happens. My volume for the earpiece is at maximum and so is the main volume on my phone, I can't hear the button sounds either. If I hit the play button, I can hear the ringtone it plays for volume check and it will also play the power up and power down tones. I tried to use speaker phone, but when I touch the button it won't work. I took the battery out and that did not help at all. I also reset my phone, and that also did not help. I checked my alarm setting since I use that frequently and it works just fine too. I am extremely unhappy because I had this phone replaced in August because the camera stopped working and now it looks like I'll have to do it again but out of warranty.

        @ceasonly
I'm glad you still have some way to hear the audio on your phone, but let's get that speaker working! The most common reason for the phone's sound to stop working would be the switch on the side has been nudged accidently. Try to enable then disable Silent Mode http://bit.ly/Xhs40k to get the volume working again. Also, try to simply restart your iPhone by holding the power switch and home button together for 10 seconds. Nothing gets erased but it helps cleat out any temporary glitch your phone may experience.
If you're still having trouble, the next best step would be to reset the phone's settings http://bit.ly/HWRbPl. This does erase information from your phone, so make sure to back up http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 your iPhone information first.
Keep me posted if you continue to have audio trouble.
