Increasing storage by deleting photos/video after installing OneDrive app?

I'm trying to create extra storage on my phone. I had 4.8 GB of photos/video. Then I deleted a ton of photos and large videos and now its still saying I have 4.8 GB. Why is it not changing?
Note that I recently installed OneDrive app to backup my photos/videos. Not sure if this makes a difference?

If you are trying to reduce content to gain memory for an iOS Update you wouldn't need the extra space if you update via a computer and iTunes vs. an iCloud update.  In any event you could always delete Apps to gain storage because after you update the iOS you can just re-download the Apps for free from the App Store.

  • HT201317 when do photos download to my photo stream after installing it on my PC

    Hi,
When do photos download to my photo stream after installing it on my PC?
I have already waited for over an hour and my iphone is connected to W-Fi
Would my McAfee have something to do with the delay?
    Thanks.

Photo stream photos will be deleted once you reach 1,000 unless you import them into iPhoto. You can set your iPhoto preferences to import them automatically.

    Hey Bakak,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you keep getting a message to authorize your computer when trying to transfer applications to your iPhone. Here is an article on things that may cause this. I suspect that the section "Authorize using the correct account name" may be most relevant. It is possible that you have multiple Apple IDs and iTunes accounts.

  • After installing an App, the icon does not appear on the desktop?

After installing an App, the icon does not appear on the desktop? Where would I find it?

Some people have found that an app (usually iBooks for some reason) hasn't appeared on a homescreen until after the iPad has been reset and has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Also depending on what the app is have you got an age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding it ?

After installing an app on iPhone 5s, I can't use it outside of wifi (using cellular or mobile data) and the app is not listed in settings to enable its use of mobile data - any clues on what is wrong here?

Steps to take to resolve this issue:
    1/  Turn off Wifi
2/  Ensure Mobile (cellular) data is on
3/  Turn iPhone OFF and then ON (re-boot iPhone)
4/  Without turning Wifi on, open an app that requires mobile (cellular) data.
5/  The app will now show on the Settings list with the option to enable or disable mobile (cellular) data
6/  In time all apps that require or use mobile data will be added to the list automatically.

i can see a possible workaround... download all photos to folder. delete all the photos from iphone and then sync photos with folder name like "OLD". i have tried this with years... like "2008"... but then whole thing became toooo slow so this is not a good way to go. despite the fact THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AT FIRST PLACE

  • My pictures in I photo deseppeared after installing Lion

I can't find my photo in I photo after installing Lion they all disapeared?

If you are having the same issue, then it will work for you too.  The key is activating Quicktime 7.  If you have not done this, then it will not work.  You also may need to pull the iPhoto plist.
    - close all open windows and quit iPhoto
    - in the top menu, you should see "Finder" beside the apple.  You also should see "go" in the top menu
and then hold down your option key on your keyboard.  This will make a "library" appear under your home in the Go drop down.   Select the library, then go to your preferences folder.
There, look for the following files, and drag them out to your desktop:
         - com.apple.iApps.plist
         - com.apple.iMovieAPP.plist
    - select "go" in the top menu bar and select utilities
    - launch Quicktime 7 by doubleclicking it
    - you should see a small quicktime window appear
    - quit Quicktime
    - launch iPhoto and test the video playback

  • What is an efficient method for increasing speed without deleting photos?

    I have a late 2009 model, 27-inch iMac G-5
    Model Name:                        iMac
      Model Identifier:                iMac10,1
Processor Name:               Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:              3.06 GHz
      Number of Processors:    1
      Total Number of Cores:   2
      L2 Cache:                            3 MB
      Memory:                              4 GB
      Bus Speed:                          1.07 GHz
      Boot ROM Version:            IM101.00CC.B00
      SMC Version (system):     1.53f13
      Serial Number (system):   QP******5PE
      Hardware UUID:      ****
It has become frustratingly slow of late.
Full Disclosure:  I have 18,660 photos and 81 videos in my iPhoto app.  I understand that deleting some of those would improve speed but these photos represent a good portion of my long life and having turned 75 on the last day of March, 2014, I doubt that I have enough years left to even begin such a task.
I would likely spend days and days agonizing over two nearly identical photos trying to decide which one to discard, then as soon as I made that crucial decision, would probably rethink my choice and pull the rejected photo out of the trash …
    So my question is:
Other than deleting photos (a task I will continue to eschew forever, thank you very much), what are the options available to increase the speed without a substantial commitment of funds from my meager life savings?
My frustration is such that soon, I will be forced to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at a local Mac Store but the nearest one to my home is some 30 miles away and I’d like to avoid the hassle, if possible.
I understand that there is software available online the purports to safely increase the speed of a Mac but not being a techie and of a naturally suspicious bent, I hesitate to download apps unless I’m absolutely assured of their safety.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

  • Delete CS3/CS5 after installing CC?

Can I safely delete CS3 and CS5 after installing CC? I am worried about memory issues on my iMAC.

    Hi SJCinHKG,
Definitely you can remove CS 3 or CS 5 applications from your machine as you have separate uninstaller for these applications. Please go to control panel and remove CS 3/ CS 5 under Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features  in Windows 7.
If you are using MAC then please got to link below to uninstall adobe CS 5.

  • Why am i getting poor quality photo prints after installing lion using canon pixma 6120?

After installing Lion, I began experiencing poor quality photo prints on my Canon Pixma 6120 printer.  Prior to Lion, my picture prints were all high quality.  Now, anything black in the picture is faded.

Lion should not cause the blacks to print faded. The printer drivers used by Snow Leopard and Leopard are the same version as that used by Lion.
For starters I suggest you check that you have the latest version installed. This Apple KB article shows the MG6100 series has v10.51.2.0 as the latest version.
I also recommend you do a Nozzle test print. This can be executed from the MG6120 control panel or via the Printer Utilties window (via Print & Scan, select the printer and then open Options & Supplies and then select the Utilties tab).
If the nozzle test print is okay but the blacks still look faded when printing photos (note the printer has two black ink tanks - one for photos and one for text) then try a reset of the printing system. This will remove the MG6120 from the Print & Scan pane but not the supporting drivers. So you will only have to add the printer again.

  • How to get prompted again if I want to delete a video after playing?

At first I chose to keep the pop up after playing but now my iphone is full and would like the ability to delete video files.
Wish there was a global menu at top to give me options at all times.

Just delete the videos like you would with a text message or email. Swipe your finger across it and press delete.

  • When to delete lightroom 3 after installing 4

when do you delete lightroom 3?   Before or after installing lightroom 4 upgrade?  What is the best way to do it?

Other than saving a little space thre's no need to delete Lr3. However, if you really must then simply drag the application to the trash (Mac) or run the uninstaller (Windows). Either method will only remove the applicaion whilst leaving catalogs, presets, etc etc behind for use in Lr4.
