I am using Measurement and Automation Explorer Version 3.1.1.3003 to view pictures on a pc that are being sent from a video camera looking through a microscope. The image I see in the viewfinder of the microscope is MUCH smaller than the image that is displayed on the pc screen. Looking through the viewfinder of the microscope, I can see ~20 mm across the object, but the display from the camera in NI-MAX shows ~4.5 mm across the object. How can I change how much of an object is displayed on the screen in NI-MAX?
The camera is attached to the microscope with a camera adapter on the top of the microscope. The lenses the camera "looks" through and the lenses used when one looks through the viewfinder are the same, so theoretically, there should be no difference in what is displayed on the pc and what is seen through the viewfinder. We have ruled out the microscope and camera as the cause of the problem, which narrows it down to the NI-MAX software itself.
I saw in the forums that you can zoom out on an image; however, this does not change the distance across an image that is seen, just makes the picture of the same ~4.5 mm across the object smaller in size.
Any ideas or suggestions?I have attached a picture of the object's image being displayed on the pc monitor. Where the field of view (FOV) in the microscope is almost 30 mm, the FOV displayed onscreen is about 7 mm. After contacting companies various times I discovered there was a reducing lens that goes in the C-mount adaptor, but it is over $300.
I thought maybe that the FOV could be changed in in NI Measurement and Automation Exploer (NI-MAX). Any ideas?

How to screen capture paper Layout model in oracle reports
Hi,
I have several reports and i need to be able to capture paper layout (model) view in pdfs or jpgs for presentation etc. Short of going and doing screen prints, is there an automated/batch way to do that since i have several reports. One path that comes to my mind is the XML route with appropriate style sheet that preserves the pdf look and feel)
Note that i am not asking to run a report with data which i can do manually, but instead need the layout model in the jpg/gif/pdf formats.
Thanks,Hi
How do you know that your report server is up and running?

Report Builder Layout Model Missing
when I went to edit an existing report in 10g, I found the display of the Layout model is missing.
The fields and frames are all visible in the Object Navigator but they just don't show up in the layout screen.
Is there an easy way to fix this - or do i have to rebuild the report from the queries?
**** Doh **** Noticed the layout model was pointing to the Trailer pages - hence no details.
Apologies
Edited by: Elaine L on Feb 8, 2010 12:34 PMhi,
first u check u r layout model ,
totally three sections are there
1) header section
2) main section
3) trailer section
i think u r checking the layout in header or trailer section
first u have to check in the main section
if its not there u can with other two sections,
in these three sections not available in u r layout , go to the object navigator in the main section --> select the some fileds and repeating frame
and apply the color of black of red in selected fields and repeating frames,
after that check u r layout model -
Mapping Variables(Object View) to Measures(Model View)
Hi,
In my AW, I have created a cube, And then I have created a new variable in the object view and populated it using load programs. Now. when I try to create a measure in the model view of the same cube based on this variable, I cannot see any option for assigning a variable to a measure. Can someone please help me out in doing this?
I need the measure in the model view, because it looks like, when I create a relational view, only the measures that are defined in the model are added to the view and not the variables available in the object model.
Thanks,
BharatHi Bharat,
The mapping editor is used to map a measure to a relational data source. Therefore, unless you convert your data source used by your DML program to a relational table/view (if it is a text file you can use an external table to present the data to AWM as a relational table, or if it is an Excel spreadsheet and your database is on Windows you can use the heterogenous gateway service to load directly from Excel by exposing the Excel worksheet as a relational table) you will not be able to use the mapping editor.
To assign an OLAP variable to an measure within a cube you will need to create a custom calculated measure. This will allow you to create a measure that "maps" to your OLAP DML program. There is an Excel utility on the OLAP OTN home page that allows you to create custom calculated measures (at the moment this feature is not AWM10gR2 - but is available within AWM 11g). Click here for more information:
http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/olap/SpreadsheetCalcs_10203.zip
My advice would be to try and convert your data source to a relational table/view and using the mapping editor. This will allow you to benefit from the many new features within OLAP cube storage such as compressed composites, data compression, paralled processing, partitioning and aggregation maps. Of course you can code all this manually but it is much easier to let AWM do all this for you via a few mouse clicks. Please note - that everything you build outside of the AWM model view has to be managed (defined, updated, backed up etc) by you rather AWM. So while there are lots of advantages of using OLAP DML, I personally always try to load data into my OLAP cubes using AWM mappings and save OLAP DML for providing the advanced types of analysis that make OLAP such an excellent calculation engine.
Hope this helps

BD64 Model View - Wrong Maintenance System
Hello.
We refreshed our QA system from Production. Production is in a different CUA than our test systems. The QA system still thinks that it is in the production model view n BD64 and I cannot get it to accept the new distribution model from the CUA for our test systems. Furthermore, the entries in BD64 in the QA system are grayed out and cannot be deleted locally. The production CUA doesn't recognize the new system at all either.
How can I get the QA system to point to the right maintenance system in BD64?
Thank you.Nevermind. I deleted the DM and redistributed.

Distribution Model (ALE) - Message type has to be deleted from model view
Hello,
I want to delete a message type from an existing model view in the distribution model (of the maintenance system).
But when I mark the concerning message type and press Edit->Delete the message 'Action cannot be carried out on the nodes selected' occures. Deleting the complete model view would work...
Does anyone know how I can get this without setting up a new model view?
Many thanks in advance,
Juergenhi,
>>'Action cannot be carried out on the nodes selected'
you get this message if you try to delete a message type
from a model view that was not created on your system
(it has been replicated and it's maintained on another system)
so you can only delete this message type on the system that has
"master" distribution model
if it's not master then it's usually grey and you can only delete if it's black in change mode
>Deleting the complete model view would work...
if you try that you will see info that it's not the "master" system for this model
check it and let me know

hallo iam just starting with JavaScript in CS3 and what i found most confusing is the Adobe's Object Model Viewer in ExtendScript2...
its no help whatsoever and i didnt figure out the logics of the various dictionary items listed, whatsoever...
if this is currentlly the only complete reference to CS3 JavaScript model than god help us....
the ExtendScript2 Object Model Viewer needs to be COMPLETELLY REWORKED to become a full powered dictionary tool instead of an unorganized pile of items
have you tried InDesign CS3 AppleScript Dictionary in Apple's ScriptEditor... thats a dictionary of object model as i would imagine
1) its FULLY tree-structured dictionary from topmost level down
2) all items are categorized and sorted BY TYPE using various icons
3) every item has a properties catalog card with nice english explanations of that function with hyperlinks to all other relevant items
IS THERE ANY ALTERNATIVE TO VIEW CS3 JAVASCRIPT OBJECT MODEL AND NOT USE THE EXTENDSCRIPT2 WEAK VIEWER ?????Hi Rosta,
I have to admit that I don't understand. I see very little difference between the ESTK object model viewer and the AppleScript dictionary viewer. If anything, I think the ESTK version is superior because it connects methods with their objects--something that the AppleScript viewer doesn't do at all. But I pretty much find them equivalent.
Regardless, the descriptions are *identical* between the object model viewer in the ESTK, the AppleScript dictionary viewer, and the Visual Basic/VBA object browser. All descriptions come from the scripting resources in InDesign, and all languages use the same description string.
Jongware's HTML version, however, is much better than any of the above. Its hyperlinking is very good, and everything else can be found with your browser's Find command.
Relying on the object model viewers has freed me from the task of maintaining the reference PDFs--which was taking almost all of my time. Without that burden, I can focus on writing the Scripting Guides, Scripting Tutorial, and example scripts. While I agree that the object model viewers aren't perfect, I believe that this is a better use of my time. I think that scripting examples are more useful, overall, than reference documentation (which simply repeats the information from the scripting resources, in any case).
One very nice thing--because we have to rely on the object model viewers, we were allowed to fix literally hundreds of errors in the descriptions in the scripting resources.
Thanks,

ExtendScript Toolkit - Object Model Viewer
Hi all,
I know there's not really a way around this but I'm curious if anyone knows why the Object Model Viewer in ExtendScript Toolkit doesn't have After Effects Object Model in the Browser dropdown? It has it for Bridge, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Not that jumping into the AE Scripting Guide is much of a pain...but it just seems like it would be appropriate to have it inside ESTK...In my opinion, this should be one of the top priorities of the ESTK. It has been a constant frustration for me over the last everal years that this hasn't been included for After Effects. I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted trying to look up examples in the scripting guide and other people's work when it would have been far faster with this feature. To me without this, it seems the that particular tool (ESTK) has made very little improvements that are obvious to me, especially with the fact that my scripts run far slower in newer versions of After Effects since CS4.

Width of a Layout Model
Hi !
In Report 6i, I want to print with format A3, I have to use matriciel printer whose portrait orientation is landscape's ink jet or laser printer.
I need a physical page composed with one logical page, both have width 29 cm. In fact, in the Layout Model I want to use width 29 cm, only 20 cm is permitted even in the Object Navigator, I put unit Measurement Centimeter, Max. Horizontal Body Pages = 29 and Max. Vertical Body Pages = 21.
The Report Builder help topic said that I can specify my logical page. I have to put the number of Horizontal Panels per Page size and Vertical Panels per Page size, and I dont know where I can put it.
Can you give me a solution?
Thanks!hello
your answer is
click on the report name ..go to property palette and under Report Max.horizontal Body pages / also vertical below it .

I am new to Oracle Reports. Does anyone else find the Layout
Model awkward to work with or am I missing something basic? It's complex, but not awkward. But it's true, you need some
experience in working with it. It's difficult, but powerful.
I suggest doing most things through Wizard/Templates and as you
get more confident, start entering into the Layout Model. Among
Problems that I find more annoying are:
- On previous versions adding a parameter required lots of
savings as sometimes it GPF-ed on Windows
- On previous versions the usage of Additional Default Layout
needed the user to be disconnected from the database...
otherwise it GPF-ed
- On current version the most annoying thing is that when you
try to modify a frame's size it automatically enlarges to the
encosing frame. You can only bring it back by turning Confine
Mode off (the lock), which of course can cause problems if you
forget it like this...
You can try to read Oracle Developer - Advanced Forms and
Reports by P. Koletzke & P Dorsey . The report part starts from
the basics.
Other rules I try to follow:
- Learn the basics
- Save as much as you can, use lots of versions
- Most of the time you can use Undo, so take one step at a time
and you can undo it.
- Color the frames, fill in the frames with color so you can see
what is on top of what -
30EA2: Data Modeler Viewer annoyance when exiting
Hi,
Almost always when exiting sqldev, I'm prompted with a dialog stating the 'Data Modeler Viewer is waiting for tasks that should finish, such as writing files', being able to Wait or Exit now. In the Log, I get an entry 'Delete Design: "Untitled_1"'.
Please make sure to clean up correctly before prompting such a dialog.
Thanks,
K.Hi,
I can confirm this is happening on me too.
I am confused, since I didn't invoke Data Modeler Viewer, yet the prompt appears just before prompting to Save the modified Worksheet.
This probably a minor bug, but hopefully to be addressed, since it is quite confusing.

Modifying the layout of a standard SAP WD view
Hi,
I need to modify the layout of a SAP std. WD app. view. We need to re-group few fields that are already available on the screen. So this is not necessarily an enhancement, but just a modification of the layout. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
The only way I can think of it is by using 'Remove Element' technique in WD enhancements . Any suggestions ?
Thx.>
Harmeet Singh wrote:
> And I also wonder if SAP gave the capability to 'remove' the UI elements, they could have somehow given an option to change the layout as well.
The future of this sort of activity (layout rearrangement) is actually not in the Enhancement Framework. The goal is to increasingly use Floorplan Manager and Generic UI Building Blocks. This makes the UI layout much more customizable by storing as part of the FPM configuration instead of part of the development object. Of course Freestyle WDA components will always be necessary and the Enhancement Framework will remain for those options, but GUIBB will be used wherever possible for increased freedom.
