Increasing the number of rings on incoming calls
How can I increase the number of rings on the 8800 for incoming calls? Currently,I can set only 3 rings and that is often not enough time to get to the device. Any help greatly appeciated.

What do you mean by you can se three ring? You can set 3 vibration for profiles settings. Number of time your deivce will ring is dependent on your carrier.

No, it's set by the system at 30 seconds. Using a different ringtone sometimes helps.

Ladies/Gents - I can see why BB call the leather pouch a holster - you have got to be the fastest draw in the West if you want to extract the 8900 and answer the call before it diverts - can someone point me in the right direction to extend the length of "ringing time" to allow "Ol' slow hand" here a chance to answer calls without everyone going to voicemail.

x-x, I'm sad to hear that you want to leave VZW because of this. The number of rings is standard at 5-6 rings which is approximately 30 seconds. If yours is only ringing 3 times, it may be the ringtone you have selected. Make sure to also reboot your phone often and dial *228 option 2. If still having issues, try calling yourself from another phone to see how many times it rings on that end.

Any suggestions?Try a factory restore, this might be a software problem so just plug into itunes and go and click the restore button. If this doesnt fix it then its a hardware problem meaning you need to head to an apple store for a replacement.

I want to change it so that let's say that if after 5 rings I don't answer the call is forwarded. I've looked everywhere for an answer but have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated. However it works for your carrier is how it works. Actually, from what I understand about call forwarding, it normally is an all-or-nothing circumstance...calls forward to the number you've asked them to be forwarded to, keeping you in a DND status. Regardless, though, if your carrier tells you how it works on their system, there's nothing that the device can do to override that. Unless there is some kind of 3rd party app that would do it, bypassing (somehow) the carrier network CF feature...but I've never heard of such a thing.

Hi everybody,
I am pretty new on Oracle Text so please be merciful :)
I am on Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 and I need to provide my users with ALL snippets found in a text, but it seems that CTX_DOC.SNIPPET restricts the number of snippets occurrences (I will exemplify it later).
The question is: is there a way to increase the number of results/snippets returned by CTX_DOC.SNIPPET ?
In the example that follows, I create the table "mysearch" and an index of type CTXSYS.CONTEXT, then I run the final SELECT query with CTX_DOC.SNIPPET() to obtain a list of most relevant fragments.
If you run the query - see the column "SNIPPET" - record #6 is returning only the first 4 occurrences. In this case (especially because is a single row) I would expect to find all 6 occurrences instead of 4.
Again, if looking to record #7 I have only 3 occurrences.
Then for record #8 I have only 2 occurrences.
I know that CTX_DOC.SNIPPET retrieves the "most" relevant fragment, but I would like to obtain the full list of fragments present in the indexed text. Is there a way (or an alternate method) to accomplish what I like to do.
I have also noted that CTX_DOC.MARKUP can be used on the same index to retrieve the full text "marked-up" with my query terms, so I know Oracle has indexed the text somewhere, I need only to get it out !
Any help will be very appreciated.

How do you limit the number of rings before your answerphone kicks in?
People calling me have sometimes complained that if I am not available to take the call, they have to wait for many rings - and hence a long time - before the messaging system kicks in. And sometimes, callers give up, assuming I don't have voicemail. I know you can limit the number of rings on other phones, but I haven't founf out how to do it with my iPhone. I'm sure it's easy though!!
Your carrier sets this by time, not the number of "rings" since different ring tones take different times/ring. The typical setting is 30 seconds, sometimes up to 40 seconds. Contact your carrier to shorten it.
