Increasing usb buffer size on HP Pavilion g6 / Windows 8
I have recently loaded Traktor Audio 2 DJ software and have run diagnostics on the system because of sound drag and distortion. The error message suggested increasing the USB buffer size to solve the problem. How do I do that - and do any forum members who use Traktor reckon that will solve the problem?
Thanks for the information, Here is a link to the keyboard troubleshooting steps for your computer. Click on the link and select the option for wrong character appear when typing. This should allow you to change the keyboard layout. What keyboard language do you have selected? What country was the computer purchased in?

How to increase the buffer size ?
Thanks in advanceIndeed, we are using Bex Web 7.0
The query uses a big structure and when I execute it on the web, it takes a long time (> 5 min) and I receive folowing message on top of the result page : " could not buffer query structures. Buffer too small "
When I execute the query in Bex analyzer, it takes a long time too but we dont get the message
I have checked the cache size:
- Local cache : 100 MB
- Global cache : 200 MB
Please let me know any solution as there is no BASIS TEAM. The guy who installed the soft was a consultant and is no more reachable.

Will increasing the buffer size make flash streaming video stop stalling?
I have surmised all this on my own so it could be just a fantasy, but:
I am often the victim of slow internet connections. This means that when I try and watch streaming video it constantly pauses. It's my understanding that increasing the buffer size of flash would help prevent this but I can't figure out how to do that.
ThanksYou can pause the video just long enough for the player to load enough content. Most Flash player show a loading bar if you hover the player. For short pieces you can load the entire content before starting the play.

How to increase the buffer size for Oracle?
After I installed the patch 9.2.0.4, I kept getting 'ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel' error. According to the metalink, increasing the buffer size may solve this problem. I found when I set the trace on, this problem was gone, and after I set the trace off, it came back again. I am not sure if setting the trace on increases buffer size automatically or not, but I want to start from here.
No matter how easy it is, I really didn't change buffer size before, can anyone show me how to do that?
Thanks a lot.Hi,
I think they asked to increase the db buffer cache size. You may try this
alter system set db_cache_size=<new size in bytes> scope=both;

Hello everyone,
my internet radio streams often stop or have to buffer although I have a bandwidth > 14.000 kBit/s. I read on forums that I should increase the stream buffer through the iTunes preferences. But I learned that the newer versions of iTunes don't have these preferences. Is there an alternative way? Maybe via terminal?
Thank you in advance for your help!

DannyHi all, iTunes streaming victims.
I struggled long with the streaming buffer problem of iTunes and indeed could solve it with increasing the buffer size, which features has been removed in iTunes 10. And this without updating the instructions by Apple!
Here is my solutions:

perfect for all wireless audio streaming not only for itunes, but any source on the Mac.
solved the problem completely for my 3 MacBooks, 2 airports, iphones etc.
it is not for free but a very good value for money.

I need to increase my buffer size in FMS.
Please let me know form where i would be increase my FMS buffer size.
My video is running from RTMP and i faces the problem to load. video stalled between the running. so i need to increase buffer size for running video smoothly.
Please reply me as soon as possible so i can resoled my problem.
Thanks in advance.....Hi,
You can increase the buffer size by using the property bufferTime of NetStream Object you are using. For eg: if ns is your NetStream Object then it can be done by ns.bufferTime=<desired value>.
Also you can go through this

Regd: Screen Buffer size increase
Dear Sir/madam,
We check in ST02. the screen Buffer - SWAPS are More.
we want to increase the "SCREEN" Buffer size so the Screen Swaps comes down.
Screen buffer
zcsa/presentation_buffer_area 4400000 Byte Size of screen buffer
sap/bufdir_entries 2000 Max. number of buffered screens
Which parameter size i have to Increase here 2 Parameters are available. How much we can increase it.
here RAM size is 4GB. Any Formula is available to Increase the Buffer size of the Screen. or other like Program Buffer etc.
Regards
SNB.Thanks for your Reply.
Buffer Hitratio Allocated Free space Dir. size Free directory Swaps Database
[%] [kB] [kB] [%] Entries Entries [%] accesses
Screen 96.99 4,297 141 3.44 2,000 1,722 86.10 1,506 4,525
if we want to increase we have to increase for both the parameters.
zcsa/presentation_buffer_area 4400000 + 440000 = 4840000 (10%)
sap/bufdir_entries 2000 + 200 = 2200 (10%)
What is the difference between thest 2 parameters.
1) zcsa/presentation_buffer_area
2) sap/bufdir_entries
Do you have any Formula to Handle ST02 Buffer Size Parameter Maintanence.

DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND Max buffer size exceeded
Hello,
I'm following this guide to create an index using Oracle Text:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/text.102/b14218/cdatadic.htm#i1006810
So I wrote something like this:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE CREATE_INDEX(rid IN ROWID, tlob IN OUT NOCOPY CLOB)
IS
BEGIN
DBMS_LOB.CREATETEMPORARY(tlob, TRUE);
FOR c1 IN (SELECT ID_DOCUMENT FROM DOCUMENT WHERE rowid = rid)
LOOP
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH('<DOCUMENT>'), '<DOCUMENT>');
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH('<DOCUMENT_TITLE>'), '<DOCUMENT_TITLE>');
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH(NVL(c1.TITLE, ' ')), NVL(c1.TITLE, ' '));
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH('</DOCUMENT_TITLE>'), '</DOCUMENT_TITLE>');
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH('</DOCUMENT>'), '</DOCUMENT>');
FOR c2 IN (SELECT TITRE,TEXTE FROM PAGE WHERE ID_DOCUMENT = c1.ID_DOCUMENT)
LOOP
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH('<PAGE>'), '<PAGE>');
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH('<PAGE_TEXT>'), '<PAGE_TEXT>');
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH(NVL(c2.TEXTE, ' ')), NVL(c2.TEXTE, ' '));
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH('</PAGE_TEXT>'), '</PAGE_TEXT>');
DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(tlob, LENGTH('</PAGE>'), '</PAGE>');
END LOOP;
END LOOP;
END;
Issue is that some page text are bigger than 32767 bytes ! So I've got an INVALID_ARGVAL...
I can't figure out how can I increase this buffer size and how to manage this issue ??
Can you please help me :)
Thank you,
Ben

I'm afraid, that doesn't help much, since you have obviously rewritten your procedure based on the advise given here.
Coluld you please post your new procedure, as formatted SQL*Plus, embedded in {noformat}{noformat} tags, like this:SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE create_index(rid IN ROWID,

4 dbms_lob.createtemporary(tlob, TRUE);

6 FOR c1 IN (SELECT id_document
7 FROM document
8 WHERE ROWID = rid)
9 LOOP
10 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob, LENGTH('<DOCUMENT>'), '<DOCUMENT>');
11 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob, LENGTH('<DOCUMENT_TITLE>')
12 ,'<DOCUMENT_TITLE>');
13 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob, LENGTH(nvl(c1.title, ' '))
14 ,nvl(c1.title, ' '));
15 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob
16 ,LENGTH('</DOCUMENT_TITLE>')
17 ,'</DOCUMENT_TITLE>');
18 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob, LENGTH('</DOCUMENT>'), '</DOCUMENT>');
19
20 FOR c2 IN (SELECT titre, texte
21 FROM page
22 WHERE id_document = c1.id_document)
23 LOOP
24 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob, LENGTH('<PAGE>'), '<PAGE>');
25 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob, LENGTH('<PAGE_TEXT>'), '<PAGE_TEXT>');
26 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob
27 ,LENGTH(nvl(c2.texte, ' '))
28 ,nvl(c2.texte, ' '));
29 dbms_lob.writeappend(tlob, LENGTH('</PAGE_TEXT>'), '</PAGE_TEXT>')

Changing input buffer size slows down simulated device?!?
hi,
my basic problem is having a 200279 buffer overflow.
for a quick fix I increased the buffer size using DAQmxSetBufInputBufSize, but now the signal coming from the simulated device is much slower.
how can it be?
thanx!Hi,
Buffer overflow errors occur when data is written to the buffer faster than it is being read off of it. Buffer underflow errors occur when data is being read off the buffer faster than new data is being added. In order to avoid either of these, a general rule of thumb for NI devices is to acquire around 1/10th of a second of data. For example, for a sample rate of 100 Hz, set samples to read at 10 samples.
Is it possible for you to decrease the sample rate? -
Will I increase my Buffer Cache ?
Oracle 9i
Shared Pool 2112 Mb
Buffer Cache 1728 Mb
Large Pool 32Mb
Java Pool 32 Mb
Total 3907.358 Mb
SGA Max Size 17011.494 Mb
PGA
Aggregate PGA Target 2450 Mb
Current PGA Allocated 3286059 KB
Maximum PGA Allocated (since Startup) 3462747 KB
Cache Hit Percentage 98.71%
The Buffer Cache Size advise is telling me that if I increase the Buffer Cache to 1930Mb i will get a 8.83 decrease in phyiscal reads (And its get better the more I increase it)
The question is .. can I safely increase it (In light of my current memory allocations) ? Is it worth it .. ?Two things stand out:
Your sga max size is 17Gb, but you are only using about 4Gb of it - so you seem to have 13Gb that you are not making best use of.
Your pga aggregate target is 2.4Gb, but you've already hit a peak of 3.4Gb - which means your target may be too small - so it's lucky you had all that spare memory which hadn't gone into the SGA. Despite the availability of memory, some of your queries may have been rationed at run-time to try to minimise the excess demand.
Is this OLTP or DSS - where do you really need the memory ? (Have a look in v$process to see the pga usage on a process by process level).
How many processes are allowed to connect to the database ? (You ought to allow about 2Mb - 4Mb per process to the pga_aggregate_target for OLTP) and at least 1Mb per process for the buffer cache.
Where do you see time lost ? time on disk I/O, or time on CPU ? What type of disk I/O, what's the nature of the CPU usage. These figures alone do not tell us what you should do with the spare memory you seem to have.
A simple response to your original question would be that you probably need to increase the pga_aggregate_target, and you might as well increase the buffer size since you seem to have the memory for both.
On the downside, changing the pga_aggregate_target could cause some execution plans to change; and changing the buffer size does change the limit size on a 'short' table, which can cause an increase in I/O as an unlucky side effect if you're a little heavy on "long" tablescans.

I'm currently using Count Buffered Edges.vi to do Buffered Event count with the following settings,
Source : Internal timebase, 100Khz, 10usec for each count
gate : use the function generator to send in a 50Hz signal(for testing purpose only). Period of 0.02sec
the max internal buffer size that i can allocate is only about 100~300. Whenever i change both the internal buffer size and counts to read to a higher value, this vi don't seem to function well. I need to have a buffer size of at least 2000.
1. is it possible to have a buffer size of 2000? what is the problem causing the wrong counter value?
2. also note that the size of max internal buffer varies w
ith the frequency of signal sent to the gate, why is this so? eg: buffer size get smaller as frequency decrease.
3. i'll get funny response and counter value when both the internal buffer size and counts to read are not set to the same. Why is this so? is it a must to set both value the same?
thks and best regards
lynHi,
I have tried the same example, and used a 100Hz signal on the gate. I increased the buffer size to 2000 and I did not get any errors. The buffer size does not get smaller when increasing the frequency of the gate signal; simply, the number of counts gets smaller when the gate frequency becomes larger. The buffer size must be able to contain the number of counts you want to read, otherwise, the VI might not function correctly.

Error -200609 occurred at DAQmx Write: Selected Buffer Size Too Small
Hello, I'm writing some simple test VI's that I will eventually build upon to make an externally clocked analog output VI. I started with a very simple program to output finite samples using the onboard clock with the DAQmx Timing.VI. When I run the program, I almost immediately get an error. The error message is below.
Error -200609 occurred at DAQmx Write (Analog DBL 1Chan 1Samp).vi:1
Possible reason(s):
Generation cannot be started, because the selected buffer size is too small.
Increase the buffer size.
Conflicting Property
Property: Output.BufSize
Corresponding Value: 1
Minimum Supported Value: 2
Task Name: _unnamedTask<1C>
I have used DAQmx VI's before in similar applications and never encountered this error. Additionally, I read at the link below that DAQmx Timing.VI should be generating the buffer automatically. Any ideas as what could be causing this?
Specs:
Windows 7
Labview 2012
PCIe-6353 as DAQ board
Below is a picture of my block diagram and the VI is attached.
Solved!

Best buffer size for BufferedInput/Output Streams?
I'm developing a client-server application where one server serves an undetermined number of clients. The server spins off threads to service each client individually. The clients send data (serialized objects) to each other via BufferedInput/OutputStreams wrapped in ObjectInput/OutputStreams. The streams are created like this:
toServer = new ObjectOutputStream(new BufferedOutputStream(theSocket.getOutputStream()));
fromServer = new ObjectInputStream(new BufferedInputStream(theSocket.getInputStream()));I've never had more than a handful (5-6) users on the system at one time, and it works fine. However, I haven't the resources to test the system with a large number of clients, and I'm wondering if the default buffer size is enough to handle a potentially large amount of traffic to a client. Should I increase the buffer size just in case, or should I not worry? Does the buffer size even matter when using an ObjectInput/OutputStream?
I'd appreciate any good advice.There is an underlying buffer size of 1024 in ObjectIn/OutputStream anyway so the buffer should be at least this large. Generally 4k is adequate unless you are doing very high data volumes in which case 16k, 32k, 63k may help. If you are on Windows you should also up the socket send/receive buffers which by default are 8k: change this to at least 28k. The precise value depends on the network link & in theory should be >= the bandwidth-delay product.

I knew the 2 might be connected but I recently read some information which confused me. I thought a larger buffer size was good, but I've just read that increasing the buffer size lengthens latency. Can anyone enlighten me on the relationship between these; just simple answers, please.
Audio is sent through the system in chunks. Chunks of the buffer size. Buffer size is measured in samples so a buffer setting of 256 samples rewquests and provides audio in 256 sample packets. As a real time application, this cannot be predicted so the buffer reads from the present/past as opposed to looking ahead of time. The chunk will be handed off to CoreAudio that much ( time ) later, in comparison. So...
Larger buffer increases track/plugin count since you allow the computer more time to manage it's tasks.
Decreasing allows for less total system throuhput ( = less latency ).
Many people have found a good balance for this ( if they need to dynamically alter system resources ) to be:
Low buffer size while recording, for minimal latency
Then increase buffer for mixdown, allowing more pluggies and tracks.
Your latency setting is also dependent on your audio hardware and system busses. So, a good interface and driver on a dedicated FireWire bus can allow you to decrease your buffer setting.
