i am unable to take incremantal backup in my machine ,plz guide me to take incrental backup

Hi Only for u
Installing NTBackup on Windows 7 / 2008 R2
If wanting the original NTBackup on Win7 / Win2k8 R2 then it can be done by creating a new folder on Windows 7 ex. C:\Program Files\NTBackup and copy the following files from Windows XP to the
folder (or extract them from the install file nt5backup.cab):
C:Windows\System32\Ntbackup.exe
C:Windows\System32\Ntmsapi.dll
C:Windows\System32\Vssapi.dll
C:Windows\Help\Ntbackup.chm
C:Windows\Help\Ntbackup.hlp
Note when starting NTBackup then it will complain about "Removable Storage" not running, and this warning can be safely be ignored:
The Backup Utility cannot connect to the Removable Storage service. This service is required for use of tape drives and
other backup devices. Please exit and start the Removable Storage service using the System Services function of the management console.

    Hi,
Please follow side by side approach for upgrade.Get a new windows box and install SQL server 2012 on it
Move databases from SS2008 R2 to SS 2012 by backup restore mechanism.
    Move
jobs and logins by Scripting out and running it on SQL SS 2012.See links as well
    Please refer to

Please help As i am running out of time as i have to upgrade TFS for that first step is to install SQL server.

    Hello,
The following are a few things you can try:
Copy the media to the local disk drive, unzip it (in case you are installing from an ISO file, and run SQL Server setup from there.
Try to unregister and register the Windows Installer with the following two commands:
    msiexec /unregister
    msiexec /regserver
Try to use Process Monitor to log the detailed error produced when the installation of dw20sharedamd64.msi fails. You can download Process Monitor from the following link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645
Share with us the error captured by Process Monitor.
    Hope this helps.

  • To install Remote Desktop Services User CAL on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition with SP1

    Dear Sir,
Presently we have installed Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition with SP 1. And now i would like to install Remote Desktop Services User CAL on this server. I have 25 digit product key of Windows Server
2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services User CAL (20). Downloaded this product key from our MSDN Subscriptions.
Kindly suggest me how to install (CAL server with product key that i have) and configure remote desktop services on my above existing server also how to point other server with my CAL server.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    1. Install Remote Desktop Session Host and Remote Desktop Licensing Role Services using Server Manager.
    2. Open RD Licensing Manager (licmgr.exe), Activate your server, then install your license
    3. In RD Session Host Configuration (tsconfig.msc), set the Licensing mode to Per User and Specify your RD Licensing server name (itself).  If you want you may configure these two settings via group policy setting instead.  The path of the
group policy settings is Computer Configuration\ Administrative Templates\ Windows Components\ Remote Desktop Services\ Remote Desktop Session Host\ Licensing
    4. You may point other RDSH servers to your RD Licensing server using RD Session Host Configuration or via group policy as mentioned above.
    5. Optionally you may consider installing other Remote Desktop Role Services such as RD Gateway, RD Web Access, RD Connection Broker, etc.

    Hi,
Here you can find the officially Hardware and Software Requirements for SQL Server 2008 R2:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.105).aspx
There should be NO problem as much as I know if the basic limitation fit you (as shanky mentioned).
I had (an clients still have) several servers with Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard & SQL
Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and Standard with no problem (today I have one old developing server with this exact installations work great for several years).

A domain account "Domain\Login" is administrator on both physcial nodes and "sysadmin" on both SQL Server instances.
Currently both instances are running on same node.
While logging on to SQL Server instance 2 thru "Domain\Login" using "IP2,port2", I get error 18452 "Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication". This happened in the past
as well but issue resolved post insatllation of SQL Server 2008R2 SP2. This has re-occurred now. But it connects using 'SQLVirtual2\Instance2' without issue.
Same login with same rights is able to access Instance 1 on both 'SQLVirtual1\Instance1' and "IP1,port1" without any issue.

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition and Full Text Indexing

Hello, we have recently upgraded our web front end server from SQL Server 2005 (Standard Edition) to SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition (in conjuction with upgrading our main production servers to SQL 2008 R2 Standard). We have 12 Databases on our production
SQL Server that are replicated to our web frontend server to the SQL Express instance. One of these databases has a FULL TEXT INDEX. The production database is running the Adobe iFilter version 9 64Bit. The FULL TEXT CATALOG has been created and populated
and performs searches as intended. However, upon replication, when using the search option on our web page based on that PDF iFilter, it no longer works. After examining the properties of the FULL TEXT CATALOG, we note that the Catalog size on the subscriber
end is 0MB in size (whereas it is 3MB on the Publication side). Also the Unique Key Count on the subscriber side is '1' whereas on the publisher side it is 30,000+. After examining the FT Indexing logs on the subscriber side shows an error: "Warning: No appropriate
filter was found during full-text index population" On the subscriber side which is running Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition, Adobe Reader 10.1.1 is installed (all 32Bit) with the Adobe iFilter AcroRdIF.dll. When running the SELECT
    * from sys.fulltext_document_types T-Sql statement, the list returned shows the PDF filter to be installed and shows the correct path. Under the System Environment Variables, that path has also been installed (from previous recommendations in researching this
problem). After numerous reboots, service restarts and re-attempts to get the FT Daemon to crawl - no success. Can anyone please help with this problem? Is there something I am missing? In an attempt to work around this problem thinking there might be a version
conflict between the 64Bit version on the publisher and the 32Bit version on the subscriber, I disabled the replication of the FULL TEXT CATALOG and tried to create a new catalog on the subscriber with the same results. Thank you for your answers in advance
    - Fustrated! Sorry, somehow this got posted originally under Server Design

Hello Jeff hope your still out there.  I wrote this question 2 years ago and upgraded to SQL Express with advanced services.  Full Text replication worked until last week.  We are operating in a virtual environment.  My publisher box
is a Windows Server 2008 R2 (64bit) with SQL Server Standard Edition.  My Web front subscriber is a Windows 2003 R2 (32bit) Server with SQL Server 2008 R2 Express SP1 with Advanced Services. Now the exact same thing is happening after 2+ years.
We are looking for possible updates that might have broken this but I am stretching that.  Any clues please?  32bit vs. 64bit?

What security roles are you talking about?
built-in server- or database-roles? - those cannot be renamed.
User-defined roles can be renamed at any point in time without any problems unless you write code that specifically accesses them by name yourself.

  • What are share point server 2013 & Share point Designer 2013 & Office 365 & Yammer & Share point 2013 & Windows server 2008 server & Windows Server 2012 Server Data Center?

    I need some clarifications.
What are share point server 2013 & Share point Designer 2013 & Office 365 & Yammer & Share point 2013 & Windows server 2008 server & Windows Server 2012 Server Data Center? How each them are related in collaboration system?
Is Share point server 2013 and Share pointer Designer 2013 available in 32bit version? If not, then how to use it in 32 bit machine by using any VMs?
    Thanks
    Senthil

    SharePoint Server 2013:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-sharepoint-collaboration-software-FX103479517.aspx
    SharePoint Designer 2013:
Designer is used to develop SharePoint pages using HTML/CSS/JS as well as SharePoint Designer Workflows
    Yammer:
    https://about.yammer.com/
Windows Server is Windows, but the Server OS. SharePoint runs on top of supported Windows Servers editions (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485.aspx).
SharePoint Server is 64-bit only (trial:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/hh973397.aspx), although Designer does have a 32-bit edition (full product:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35491).
You will need the capability to run 64bit VMs. Minimum recommended all-in-one VM for SharePoint is to allocate 24GB of RAM, but you can get away with as little as 12GB (I wouldn't go below that). Because of this, it generally rules out 32bit OSes as a virtual
    machine host.

  • MS SQL Server 2008 server is experiencing blocking

    All,
The DBA & I are at a loss as to what could be causing an intermittent alert to be produced against the MS SQL Server 2008 server. The following email is what I've been provided:
SQL Services Alert: COMPANY.com - COMPSQL01 is experiencing blocking
spid BSPID DatabaseName    Login                          LastBatch        Runtime (Alert@:1) Command
    394  0     ORAEPM_HP_HPBUD 102.16.4.126\ORAEPM_HP_HPBUD 2015-04-06 10:52                  5 (@P1 int)SELECT * FROM HSP_ACTIVITY_LEASE WHERE ACTIVITY_ID = @P1

From what I've been told, it appears that SPID 394 is the offending one but it appears to be clashing with SPID 404 and causing the blocking to occur. Both appear to be automatic processes executed by Planning to monitor\track the status of the various Planning applications in operation.
As background info, the following applies:
    - All servers are MS Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 (64-bit);
    - Hyperion Planning is v11.1.2.3.502;
    - The RDBMS platform is a MS SQL Server 2008 (64-bit) instance;
    - ORAEPM_HP_HPBUD is the RDBMS database accessed by a custom-developed Planning application while ORAEPM_HP_VISION is the RDBMS database for Oracle's Vision Planning application;
Has anyone ever encountered - and resolved - such an issue? If yes, how?
    Many thanks in advance,
    JBM

Can you pin point a particular TopLink query tied to the " FETCH_APICURSOR* " call in the app and post how it is being created?
My guess is that the application is specifying the TopLink query object to return a cursor or stream and not closing it in all cases, or keeping them open for a long period - did you say they were leaking, or is it just that a large number are open at a time leading to performance problems?
This streams+cursors are described in the TopLink docs here
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b32441/qryadv.htm#CJGJBHGJ
    or the 10g docs here:
    http://sqltech.cl/doc/oas10gR3/web.1013/b13593/qryadv010.htm
If this is the case, you might want to use a different strategy such as pagination instead of cursors, described here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/b32441/optimiz.htm#CHDIBGFE

  • Installation problem on windows server 2008 r2 datacenter edition 64bit

    hi
today, i tried to install the current maxdb 7.8 release on my virtual server with a windows server 2008 r2 datacenter 64bit edition os. at the first installation, i got an error message something with "rte runtime error". at this point, the installation stopped.
because of this error, i tried to uninstall the failed installation. this was not possible, in the uninstaller, i didn't see any components, so i can't uninstall.
so i tried to delete the files manually: the entries in the start menu, and the application's path under "program files"... first, i need to kill a process named "serv.exe", that creates a tcp daemon under port 7200... after killing it, the deletion of the dir in program files was successful.
this is very very weird, now my server is "contaminated" with an uncomplete uninstallation of maxdb...
why maxdb 7.8 has problems on windows server 2008 r2 datacenter 64bit edition???
    thanks for feedbacks!
    regards, jan

    > no, because i canceled this virtual server - another method to solve this problem. (i have really no time for things like that..!)
If you take the time to give exact error messages then someone will be certainly able to help
    > on windows server 2003, there are NO problems.
Windows 2003 != Windows 2008 - they use a different kernel, a different security system (UAC) and other features that may prevent a succesfull installation in the first place.
I installed a MaxDB 7.8 just today on Windows 2008 R2 and it worked fine.

    Hi Monika,

If we want to implement RAC 11Gr2 Enterprise Edition does the operating system also has to be enterprise edition or is it possible to install RAC 11GR2 Enterprise Edition on Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition? All Oracle Database 11g Release 2 is supported on the following Windows Server 2008 R2 editions:

    Windows Server 2008 Foundation (x64)
    Windows Server 2008 Standard (x64)
