Incremental patching

Hi All,
Applying Incremental Patching
I have 3 rpds
Prod,Dev,Devworking
I have generated a patch between Dev and dev working!!
Now I opened Dev working rpd
then File-->Merge-->Patch repository Merge
Original MAster Repository as Dev rpd
Modified repository-->DevWorking.rpd
Patch selected
Then Save Merged repository as Prod.rpd!!
it is asking Password for patch?? what does it mean?
I simply neglected that and hit next button it says *"No Changes were applied to Current Repository"*
Nothing is merged
Let me know if I am doing anything wrong?
Please help me on this
My version is OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0
Thanks
NK

  • CRS XI R2 Service Pack 5 Incremental Patch

    Hi,
I'm looking for the incremental Service Pack 5 download for Crystal Reports Server XI R2 for Windows.  On the SAP download site, there are two listings for Service Pack 5.  Which one is the incremental patch?
Below is the site (I go to SAP Software Distribution Center, then Archive for Support Pakages and Patches and search for CRS XI R2:
    https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/bosap-downloads
Below are the 2 Service Pack 5 downloads that I see listed on the site, can anyone please tell me which one is the install for the incremental Service Pack 5 (I currently have CRS XI R2 SP2 running on my production server)?
    1. Crystal Reports Server XI R2 Service Pack 5
    2. Crystal Reports Server XI Relase 2 SP5 - Windows
    Thanks,
    Kim

Both links refer to the same file. So it does not matter which of those you download.

  • How to deploy 9.3.2 incremental patch (msp) over group policy

    Hello to all,
i have deployed Reader 9.3.1 via group policy in windows (software installation package).
It was installed on all clients successfully.
Now that 9.3.2 msp file came out i need to distribute the new incremental patch to all hosts in the domain.
I wanted to slipstream the 9.3.2 msp update into the 9.3.1 msi,so i tried the following command:
    msiexec /a AdbeRdr931_en_us.msi /p AdbeRdrUpd932_all_incr.msp
I also tried msiexec /a AdbeRdr930_en_us.msi /p AdbeRdrUpd932_all_incr.msp supposing that it needs the 9.3.0 initial package to work.
But the following error comes out in both commands:
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service  because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch  may update a different version of the program.  Verify that the program  to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct  upgrade patch.
    What could be wrong?
What is the recomended way to deploy an incremental patch msp file to an already deployed earlier version?

I used this MSIEXEC.exe command this morning VIA a GPO and installed on both 9.3.0 &
    9.3.1
    MSIEXEC.EXE /update \\xxxxxxx\xxx\adobereader932\adberdrupd932_all_incr.msp /quiet
This must be put in the login script under the Computer system in the GPO.
I just used Notepad and created a *.bat file, yes not good as a *.MSI but it works.

  • Issue with patch 8.1.3 deployment

He have Acrobat 8 standard deployed from an administrative image on the server. It was at version 8.1.2. I patched the image with the 8.1.3 update (AcrobatUpd813_all_incr.msp). Everything went smoothly. I deployed the updated image to our systems, and that went smoothly.
At this point, I start getting suspicious because Acrobat patches are always problematic. Sure enough, just as I think I'm in the clear, I've run into a problem. From within the program, I click Help -> About Adobe Acrobat Standard, and the version shows as 8.1.2. Add/Remove programs lists Adobe Acrobat 8.1.3 Standard.
I tried repairing the installation, re-installing - so far nothing gets the About dialog to show 8.1.3. Is there a bug with the patch? Any ideas what might cause this behavior? How can I verify the patch is fully installed?
    Thanks.

It looks as though it is a problem with the incremental patches. If you watch the log file for the registry key mentioned above you will see the installer write the correct value to the registry and then turn around and write the correct value for 8.1.2.
    MSI (s) (A8:FC) [05:57:29:094]: Executing op: RegOpenKey(Root=-2147483646,Key=SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\8.0\Installer,,BinaryType=0)
    MSI (s) (A8:FC) [05:57:29:094]: Executing op: RegAddValue(Name=VersionMin,Value=#196608,)
    MSI (s) (A8:FC) [05:57:29:094]: Executing op: RegAddValue(Name=VersionMin,Value=#131072,)
This is because when the incremental patches are applied they create multiple components in these components there are UpdateFiles_812 and UpdateFiles_813, and both of these contains different values for the same registry key mentioned above. So when the Windows Installer writes the install script at runtime the registry table entry for UpdateFiles_813 is lucky enough to get picked first and so when the Windows Installer service comes by the UpdateFiles_812 entry the UpdateFiles_813 entry is overwritten.
So if anyone is using a transform you can drop the Registry26804_812 row from the registry table and that will fix the problem.

  • Adobe Reader 8.1.2 patch planned?

Can anyone give a statement whether Adobe plans to release an incremental patch to 8.1.2 instead of the full installer? For Adobe Acrobat 8 they offer one. I would prefer to not deploy a full package for each security fix.

Not to make excuses or anything but, it's more than a security patch.

  • Here we go again...cannot update 10.0.0.1 via GPO

Per usual, I'm trying to deploy some of the patches released via the Adobe Gods and once again, things aren't working.
I'm a bit behind in updates just becasue of these issues.  Everytime I try and update, I run into brick walls and it's always such a hassle I avoid it as much as possible anymore.
My new struggle is updating our existing clients from 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.0.3.  I've downloaded both incremental patches (AcrobatSecUpd1002.msp & AcrobatSecUpd1003.msp) but get errors right away.  When I try to apply the patch to our existing install I get the error message:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.  Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."
These are the commands I'm using:
    "msiexe c /a AcroRead.msi /p AcrobatSecUpd1002.msp"
    "msiexe c /a AdbeRdr1000_en_US.msi /p AcrobatSecUpd1002.msp"
I tried both AcroRead.msi & AdbeRdr1000_en_US.msi just in case something changed when I applied the AdbeRdrUpd1001_Tier1.msp update a while ago.
So again I'm flustered and confused and don't know where to go from here.  I just wish this would be easier and not be such a headache every time I need to push updates down to the clients via GPO.
Would having a program like installshield or Wise or some other similar program help with stuff like this?  If so then I'm going to definately start pushing my boss to approve the purchase of it!!!
    Heeeeeeeeeeelp!!!

Ah, okay.  We got an email here at work saying that 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2 were vulnerable and to update to 10.0.03.  So I went to the FTP site to see what was availiable and saw those updates.  I didn't realize it was only for the other versions.  My bad.  Thanks for clerifying!
EDIT:  Geez...I need to figure out what email is connected to what username and delete one of these things before I drive myself batty!

  • Adobe Reader 9.3.4

Does anyone know if the 9.3.4 is cumulative?  It would be helpful to have that info in the release notes, no?

    It is incremental.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4761
    Installation Instructions
This update requires that Adobe Reader 9.3.3 is installed on your system. To determine which version of Reader you have currently installed, choose Help> About Adobe Reader.
If you have version 9.3.3 installed, download and install the incremental patch.

  • WITH clause, Oracle, UNION problem

I have a table with two fields, SYSTEM and DATEOPENED.  It's basically a log of events.
For each row, I need to calculate how much time has elapsed between one row and the next for the same system.
Basically, when I execute this directly against the database (replacing parameters with actual TO_DATE('...','...')), this works flawlessly.
The problem when I run this in Crystal Reports is that the WHERE clause of the CUMULATIVE portion of the UNION is completely ignored.  I get ALL the data from the database for the CUMULATIVE.
I inverted both portions of the UNION (DISCRETE first and CUMULATIVE second), which had the result of completely removing the CUMULATIVE portion of the result set.
    I'm using Crystal Reports 11.5.0.313 (XI R2)
    The query looks like this:
    WITH ACCT_DATA AS (
      SELECT SYSTEM, Round(DateOpened,'IW') WeekDate, Sum(IsUDRWithinThreshold) CNT_WITHINTHRESHOLD, Count(1) CNT
      FROM (
        SELECT SYSTEM, DateOpened, (
          CASE
WHEN SYSTEM='system1' AND ((Lead (DateOpened,1) over (PARTITION BY SYSTEM ORDER BY SYSTEM, DateOpened))-DateOpened)*24 < 5 THEN 1
WHEN SYSTEM='system2' AND ((Lead (DateOpened,1) over (PARTITION BY SYSTEM ORDER BY SYSTEM, DateOpened))-DateOpened)*24 < 5 THEN 1
WHEN SYSTEM='system3' AND ((Lead (DateOpened,1) over (PARTITION BY SYSTEM ORDER BY SYSTEM, DateOpened))-DateOpened)*24 < 9 THEN 1
            ELSE 0
          END
        ) IsUDRWithinThreshold
        FROM  ACCT_FILES
        WHERE SYSTEM IN ('system1','system2','system3')
        AND Round(DateOpened,'YYYY')=Round({?ToDate},'YYYY')

    Hello,
First, you can't use that SQL directly in Crystal Reports unless you are using a Command object. In which case CR does not modify the SQL at all. It may be due to multiple results sets in which case CR will have problems logically with this type of SQL.
what happens if you use SQLPlus to test the SQL and results?
Also, before doing any of that you are using the original release of Crystal Reports XI R2. Go to the Businessobjects tab above and download SP4, full build. Easier than applying all of the incremental patches but it does require you to un-install CR first.
Test again, if you still get the same problem then do more debugging.
Also note in you reply what DB driver you are using, ODBC, OLE DB etc., and who's driver, Oracle's DataDirect, Microsoft etc.?
    Thank you
    Don

  • Questions about upgrading from Exchange 2010 RTM to Exchange 2010 Service Pack 3

I am preparing to perform an maintenance upgrade on our current Exchange 2010 Server, to Service Pack 3 (and any post-SP3 roll ups), but I have a couple questions about the process.
    Current Exchange Server details:
    Exchange 2010 Standard
Version: 14.0 (Build 639.21) - from Exchange Management Console
Version: 14.0.702.4000 - from Outook client
Active Directory forest and domain levels: Windows 2008 R2 native
    The questions I have are:
    1.  Can I assume that because it's version 10.0.702.4000 I am on Exchange Server 2010 RTM Update Rollup 4?
    2.  Can Exchange 2010 Standard RTM be patched directly to Service Pack 3, or would I need to perform incremental patches (i.e. SP1, SP2, etc.) before going to SP3?
    3.  Do I need to manually perform the AD domain schema prep before applying Service Pack 3, or will the Service Pack 3 update process automatically handle the modifications of the AD schema?

    Hi,
Here are my answers you can refer to:
    1. Firstly, I’d like to explain , we can use connection status to check our Exchange server version from Outlook client:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/determine-the-version-of-microsoft-exchange-server-my-account-connects-to-HA010117038.aspx
And I check my version from both EMC and Outlook client. It’s same.
    2. We can directly update RTM version to SP3 , and the update will take an additional 30 minutes or longer per database.
    3. Since Exchange 2010 SP3 makes updates to the Active Directory schema, we need prepare AD domain schema. However, it will automatically prepare AD and the domain when you install the update.
For more information, you can refer to the following article:

  • Error updating Reader to 8.1.6

Is anyone else getting a version not found error while upgrading Adobe Reader 8.1.5 to 8.1.6? I've also tried updating 8.1.4 from an administrative installation point but I get the same error.
Below is the log from msiexec:
MSI (c) (B8:14) [17:27:42:550]: Final Patch Application Order:
    MSI (c) (B8:14) [17:27:42:550]: Other Patches:

The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer an
d that you have the correct upgrade patch.
    C:\WINDOWS\Installer\dc83.msi
MSI (c) (B8:14) [17:27:42:550]: Product: Adobe Reader 8.1.5 - Update '{AC76BA86-7AD7-0000-2550-7A8C40000816}' could not be installed. Error code 1642. Additional information is available in the log file C:\adobe.log.
    MSI (c) (B8:14) [17:27:42:566]: Product: Adobe Reader 8.1.5 -- Installation failed.

    Option 3:
         1) Installed from an 8.1.3 patched incrementally to 8.1.5 and an 8.1.5 AIP created with Adobe source files, and customized with the adobe tuner.
         2) attempted to patch via SMS (using DFS links, not Distribution Points,) verified patch failure by running with the classic double-click method on a few test machines
         3) Cried in defeat
Curiously, I've discovered that the patch works if it's run locally, but does not work if it runs from a network share.  I think my solution is probably going to be to write a script that copies it to each machine before running the SMS program with elevated privileges.
EDIT:  looks like I was mistaken about the deployment scenario, our current production machines were actually reinstalled with an 8.1.4 AIP, and that seems to be the breaking point.  A new installation from the 8.1.3 AIP can be patched up to 8.1.6, no matter what incremental patch level it's currently at.  Seems to be a mismatched product code issue?
