Indd CS5.5 keeps asking to update modified links

Indd CS5.5 keeps asking to update modified links when opening a document, when links have not been modified.. This happens a lot.
Any guidance gratefully received.

Hi John, thanks for your helpful suggestion.
We've picked up on some small nuances in the last 24 hours. There are two of us here in the studio and the documents and links are saved on a shared drive.
• When I open the document on my machine and update all the links, then close it and then open it again – without my colleague opening it – it doesn't ask to update the links.
• However, if he opens it after I've opened it, it will ask to have it's links updated again. And if I open it after he has opened it, it again will ask to update the links.
*Idea* could it be that one of the machine's clock settings are incorrect. ie. my colleague's new laptop?
Screen grabs are attached below. The go in the order of before and after.
The plot thickens: I have also loaded this software on to an iMac out side of the office; not connected to the server, just running on its own. I have some images on an external hard drive. I have exactly the same problem if I unplug it and re-plug it. When I re-plug it doesn't just simply find the links, it says they have been updated.
Any more ideas would be appreciated.
Best regards.

iPhoto iphoto keeps asking to update thumbnails - EACH TIME. I've told it ignore 5 times, and each sessions involves about 100 photos and 2 horus of clicking no - help!
Where is the file that I can update?
    Thanks
    George

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

What are you talking about exactly?  There is normally no need to install anything to read or write Asian languages on your Mac.  Tell us what language for starters and what it is you think you can't do now.

  • CC keeps asking to update

    Hi
Is been more than five weeks where creative cloud app keeps asking to update PS CC and PS cs6 with the camera raw 8.3 update. I already update three times and nothing happened.

First, thanks for your quick reply. In this moment I have installed version 8.3.0.141 on PS CC. I already checked the first (from 5) PS camera raw 8 8.3 log after version 8 8.2 and look for "error" but nothing appeared. The last log instead, shows this:

  • Have purchased ilife11 garage band but garageband keeps asking for updates

How do i upate garageband to ilfe11 already purchased and downloaded it

    Hi Paula,
If I understand correctly you already purchased iLife '11 and updated your computer with it. I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say that GarageBand (GB) keeps asking for updates. Perhaps this will help. Even though iLife '11 is a new software, there already has been a number of software updates to iPhoto '11, iMovie '11, and GB '11 as well. The new software updates come during weekdays, usually on Tuesday or Wednesday. In general it's advised to check up for new software updates on regular basis. I do it every day from Monday through Friday. Sometimes there is whole bunch of updates available every week, and sometimes there is nothing for some time. So, if by any chance you haven't updated your software since the time you installed iLife '11, it's possible that all these updates are waiting till you do what you have to do, meaning, click on Apple icon in upper left corner of your screen, and then click on Software Update in scroll down menu, after you do that, the box with a message will appear on the screen. If there aren't any updates it will say so, in that case click on Quit. If there is something available, go for it, just follow the instructions. You can update right away or latter, but you need these updates. If you want to be sure that your GB is up to date, open any project, click on GarageBand in menu bar (left upper corner of your screen), then click on Check for Updates in down scroll menu. If there is update available, just follow the instructions, if there is nothing there, the message box will appear saying that your GB is up to date.
    Cheers!

    Hey Duddy1888,
Thanks for the question. Try changing your payment information to “None”. If you are unable to select “None” as a payment option, see the following resource:
Why can’t I select None when I edit my payment information?

If you have an unpaid balance or payment due, you can't select None as your payment type. To see which order you need to pay for, view your purchase history. When you sign in to the store, you may see a message that there was a billing issue with your last order. Click the Billing Info button to see the order.

  • CS5.5 Keeps asking for serial number!

    Hi,
I have had 5.5 installed since it came out. I returned from a week away and it instantly promped me for a serial number which i provided. It accepted it but now keeps prompting me for it over and oevr again without letting me in to any of the programs! It is happy with the serial number provided (green tick) but then keeps asking me over and over for it. It's driving me insane! Can anyone help?
I have tried ininstalling it and installing it again by way.
    Thanks,
    Sam

I would call Adobe Customer Support. We are volunteers here and can't help with serial number issues.

  • CC desktop app keeps asking to update.

    Hi all,
It's been since the release of photoshop 14.2.1 that the dektop app keeps on asking me to update Photoshop even though the software has been updated (succesfully) straight away.
Why is this happnening and how can I stop it?
I'm using a 2013 MBP retina with the latest mavericks.
    Thank you everyone!

    Hi Noel,
Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer.
The CC desktop app behaves like photoshop isnt updated yet, even though it is:
At first I just thought that the update process was unsuccesfull an so I kept on updating like it shows in the activity tab:
Photoshop is working just fine its just that is annoying having this notifications popping up with no reason.
Hope this gives a better idea of what's happening.

  • CS5 Upgrade - Keeps asking for Serial

I'm upgrading a colleague's CS3 Design Premium with a CS5 Design Premium install. I've purchased the upgrade from our Adobe Reseller and downloaded CS5. I installed it (putting in the serial number given on the Licencing website for CS5) and it seemed happy enough and kept instlalling for about half an hour.
When it had finished I opened Photoshop CS5 and it's prompting me to say trial 30 days or enter a serial, so I enter the serial again - it gets a nice green tick, cool, no, not cool the same thing comes up after I accept the terms and conditions. I foolishly think perhaps it needs to be done multiple times due to the components in CS5 - I've done it about 8 times and it's stll the same situation!
So, I Google it and find out Adobe reckons I need to use the CS3 licence number, I've dug out what I'm 99% sure is the CS3 serial number and put this in - it gives me an orange triangle and telsl me it's invalid. (not a red cross).
Not sure what to do next really. If I try to open CS3 to see what hte licence key is (I believe you can see it partially?) it just states it needs to be reinstalled due to a catastrophic failure.
Any help or guidance guys? - I have two other CS4-5 upgrades to do as well, hoping they will be a little easier

So I think I may have fixed this. The problem it seems was with the original CS3 which wasn't loading properly - due to a licensing error it seems.
I followed a blog post which had about 8 different steps to fix it, trying them in order, the only one that worked was renaming a database file which seemed to trigger it to load properly, and ask for hte serial. I popped this in and CS3 was working again. Loaded CS5 and input hte new serial, that seems to have sorted it.
On a side note, on both ths version and a colleagues CS4-CS5 updated version it seems that updates are disabled? - They're just greyed out witn no option to run them :/

  • ITunes Producer keeps asking to update

I've been having a badge for iTunes producer show up on the MacApp store for quite a while now.
No matter how many times I click on update, it always returns asking me to update again.
Today I found out something else about this issue thats just plain silly.
Everytime i click on the update button, I get that it was last updated:
Here you can see the last time I clicked on the update button was Jan 30th.  Same version, same features.  I clicked on it again a few minutes ago today and not I have:
So now the last update time was today.  Yet again MacApp store shows that iTunes Producer is available for Updating, so I click on it again:
It just keeps going and going, and going...
    What can I do? :-)

    1. Search "This Mac" in the Finder for outdated copies of the app(s) that keep being updated. Delete any you find. Make sure the search scope is "This Mac" or you may miss some.
    2. If the search results seem to be inaccurate, rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.
    3. If the above steps don't resolve the problem, back up all data, then quit each app in question and uninstall it by following the instructions on this page. Alternatively, you can drag it from the Applications folder to the Trash, and empty. The data files you created will be preserved. Verify in Spotlight that there are now no copies of the app on your system. Download it from your Purchases history in the App Store.

    hi,
everytime I compile/debug a mobile project to my  Desire Z phone, I get this popup telling
me that I don't have the AIR3 runtime. No matter if I click yes or no, it keeps doing that,
and then it takes about 15 secs eah time before the app is actually installed on the device.
When I check the AIR runtime on my phone, it's the 3.0.0.388 version.
    Could this be a bug?
    Jeff.

Try setting up the phone, going to Settings > General > Software Update on the phone, and updating from there.
