THer are two folders that hold the prefs (and the recovery folder is next to one of the prefs files) and the paths can be found at Replace Your Preferences
Note that these folders are HIDDEN in recent versions of OS X, so if you don't know how to access hidden user library folders see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 and later

  • Open multiple occurances of the same document

We are running reader 9.1.1 and need to be able to open multipe occurances of the same document. Yes, I know how to open the same document multiple time with <window><new window> the problem with this is editing a form in one window changes it in all windows. I need to ope independant occurances or the same form. Can this be done? The /n switch will not work for this either! Hope somebody has an idea.

Simple solution, yes. Unfortunatly its not that simple... Having multiple copies of the same document posses issues when updating the document. This doucument is updated almost daily and is distibuted to many users across a network... Having to have users open multiple copies of the document creates many logistical and use issues.

  • I can no longer (since upgrading to the latest firefox) open up multiple tabs of the same page (something I need to be able to do when emailing and referencing multiple emails while writing one email). The only option it gives me is to 'switch to tab'.

    Question
I can no longer (since upgrading to the latest firefox) open up multiple tabs of the same page (something I need to be able to do when emailing and referencing multiple emails while writing one email). The only option it gives me is to 'switch to tab'.

I'll try to make this clear. I USED to be able to left click on a hyper link and the hyper link would open in a NEW tab. Now for some unknown reason the hyper link by default opens in the same tab (window). I have to right click the hyper link in order for it to open in a NEW tab. (Yes, my 'tools'> 'options'> 'tabs' are set to "open new windows in a new tab." (Please no answers telling me to get rid of the Ask toolbar because I don't have one.) Thank you.

  • Multiple link of the same document

1.I heard that when I buy a windows server, there comes also a free edition/foundation edition of sharepoint. Is it right?
    2. When I upload a document to the free edition of sharepoint, is there any position for me also to enter the metadata of the document to facilitate future searching of the document? Please show me some screenshots.
    3. Under ambiguous circumstances where a document can be put into two locations/folders, people suggest to set a multiple link to this document, so that when I click the link inside either one of the folders, I can get the same document. It means there is
no need to upload the same document to both folders. It is not simply a normal shortcut which we usually come across in window explorer. Can Sharepoint do this?

    1. Yes, it's called SharePoint Foundation Server.
    2. Of course, this is a core functionality of SharePoint. See
    https://www.google.nl/search?q=sharepoint+document+library+metadata+screenshot&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=d9nIU6usNofGPNG6gPAF&ved=0CB8QsAQ&biw=1400&bih=748 for screenshots.
    3. No, although you can use the document id service to generate a permanent link and use that link in a metadata field to refer to the source doc. Not in the free version, though

  • How can I distinguish multiple tabs of the same site in the tab bar?

    Hello,
I've been following some massive open online courses (MOOCs) and its been necessary to have several tabs open at the same time for the same site. I would like to be able to distinguish these tabs by being able to put a tag instead of the site url ('instructions', 'template', 'code', 'scratch', 'docs' etc. etc) and/or a colour code.
Does anyone know if and how this can be done?
    Many thanks

This one colors tabs, but the author warns that it doesn't work with other tab-related extensions, so you probably need to keep searching for one that does everything you want:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/colorfultabs/
If you don't find a do-it-all extension, you can modify the tab titles with a userscript that is specific to that website. This is because the tab displays the text designated in the page as its title.
You either could "hard code" the list of words for each of the pages, or you could have a script extract information from the page, for example, the first main heading, or some other predictable bit of data. The script then would insert your preferred wording as the title of the page and Firefox will show that on the tab.
To see how that appears, so you know whether it would be useful, you could do this experiment:
On a web page that has useless tab text, open the Web Console using command+alt+k (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+k). In the line at the bottom next to the caret, paste the following code and press Enter:
    document.title="Magic!";
If you decide you want a script written for this, you could try the request forum on userscripts''.''org:
    [http://userscripts.org/forums/2 Ideas and script requests - Userscripts.org]
Although some people offer small payments, that usually isn't necessary to motivate people to help.
Let me give you a brief warning about that site, though: over the past year, a lot of popular scripts were duplicated and reposted with additional code that hijacks your Facebook account. Be cautious when installing scripts, check the reviews, make sure there are no references to Facebook.

  • How can I actually open multiple tabs of the same site, instead of performing the new "switch to tab" action?

For example, sometimes I would like to open multiple tabs of Google Maps to get directions to multiple locations, and I haven't found a way to do so without open a new instance of the browser. Thanks.

  • After updating firefox today to 6.0, firefox is unable to load multiple tabs at the same time. When I try, firefox refuses to load any pages, and instead is stuck trying to connect to each page.

After I updated firefox to 6.0 today firefox has developed a problem loading multiple tabs. When I try to load 10+ tabs, either at the same time or by opening each tab separately, each tab is stuck trying to connect to the desired page. This continues if I close all the tabs and try to load a single page, the single page is unable to get pass connecting. In order to load a new page when this situation arises I must close down firefox and start again, and the program has no history of the previous session.

  • Firefox opens new tabs automatically, so i end up with multiple tabs of the same site. it's like it is consistantly trying to restore my last session.

Firefox keeps reloading tabs from my recent history over and over. So i might end up with multiple tabs of Pandora, Google home page or other sites I go to all the time-all running at the same time . rebooting does not help.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • XML to InDesign, multiple versions of the same document

    Hi everyone,
I have a small project that I need help with.
I am working on an online survey for a client of mine; which consist of 10 odd pages of questions as well as free text entry on some of the questions. Some of the questions requires number input which then converted into charts (bar graphs etc.) Survey is done as a web app (using .NET and C# and MySQL) and resulting data converted into XML format in order to generate a report based on the answers that the members provide.
Currently XML data is imported into MSWord and report is generated as .docx file.
Client is not happy with the presentation of the word so I suggested that we can use InDesign to have a better look/feel of the report, using the same XML structure.
There are 1000+ members that need to take this survey, which means that report has to be generated for each client individually (different answers, total page numbers, branding and so on.)
I understand the basics of generating a book from XML to InDesign but I can't figure out how can I apply this workflow into producing 1000+ different copies.
Do I need to have 1000+ InDesign documents with SAME XML structure but DIFFERENT branding (different heading colours etc.) or is there a way to generate the reports with using a single InDesign template, supplying each member's survey results as a separate XML file and generate the report.
It would be great to know if the process can be automated such as :
    - Saving all the XML files (Survey answers) in a folder
    - Save all graphs for each client in a separate folder (e.g. /client_name/graphs)
    - Open InDesign and select the XML source file <- This is where I stuck. I can only imagine doing this work for every single member
    - Generate reports (saving as PDF documents)
I'll be happy to answer if you have any questions or need clarification.
    Any suggestions welcome
    Thanks

You probably want to look at InDesign's Data Merge feature.
Unfortunately it won't accept XML directly, so you'll have to convert your XML to CSV or TSV. But that's pretty easy to do.

  • Open multiples reports for the same document

    Hi,
I created 3 PLD reports for PO, I am wondering in SDK, how can I open all 3 PLD reports when I click on the preview button for a PO document?
       Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
You cannot. I use Crystal Reports when I need to open more then one document layout at the same time.

  • Is there any possibility to bookmark multiple tabs at the same moment in the firefox 5? Becouse this is a very important function for me.

That function was in the Firefox 3, and it was ultra effective. Why do Firefox 5 do not have it? It should be progress, not downgradation.

You can access bookmark all tabs by right-clicking on a tab, or use the keyboard shortcut Control+Shift+D

  • Can I view multiple sheets at the same time?

My search fu hasn't been up to finding how, or if it is possible, to view multiple sheets of the same document at the same time. Can it be done? Either a split view in a single window or multiple windows would be fine.

    marchyman wrote:
Thanks for the answer. Another workaround is to copy the table that I'm interested in and move it to the sheet where I want to see it. When done I can copy it back or delete it. Just seems like extra effort for something that should be built in.
No need to copy the sheet. You could just drag it to the sheet where you want to see it, and when done, drag it back 'home'. (This can be done using the icons in the sidebar.)
Caution: Changing to this method will require vigilance on your part to prevent accidently deleting the table instead of moving it. frequent Saves are recommended.

  • Is there a way I can have more than one tab of the same website open?

It seems kind of silly that I'm not allowed to turn off the feature where it switches to the tab that is already open of that site, even if it is in a different window. Sometimes I need to have duplicates of a site open, like alarm clocks, or certain info sites.

There's no reason why you shouldn't have multiple tabs of the same site open if you want to.
Can you do the following first of all. Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and update Flash.
If the problem persists in spite of the above, try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

  • How do I e-print multiiple copies of the same document

Trying to use the HP eprint feature. I have no problem with a single document, but cannot find the option to print multiple copies of the same document.
    This question was solved.

Well the ePrint feature does not have the "print multiple copy" feature. Your options are to either send the email more than once or make a copy of what you have sent, once it prints out. I hope my response has helped answer your question! Thanks
