Indd CS6 script request

How would it be the javascript code to set the transparency blend space of a document to rgb in INDD CS6?
Pablo López

Note that the Scripting forum is not meant for "requesting scripts" (even though we have been seeing a lot of these, lately).
The Illustrator Scripting Forum makes this abundantly clear, right on the starting page:
Unfortunately, for some reason a similar text does not appear on this forum, which may be the reason this one is flooded with "requests" and the Illustrator Scripting forum is not.
See also Re: Can you fix my script problem? for a very appropriate parable.
Bottom lines:
1. If you want someone to write you a script, hire a freelancer. If you want a free script, hire a freelancer and then don't pay him.
2. If you want to learn how to write scripts, read the documentation, then try for yourself.
See
InDesign developer documentation | Adobe Developer Connection
How do I start learning InDesign Scripting?
3. If you need help finding some object or function in InDesign, look in the online pages I pointed you to. Only if you cannot find it, ask.
4. Do not use titles such as "Why this unfunction", "Plz Correct My Script", "Need a script to [xxx]".

  • How can I preserve word internal document hyperlinks when importing into indd cs6

I have a document that is hundreds of pages long. The document was created in word by another user and has many internal document hyperlinks. Is it possible to preserve the hyperlinks, so that they show up and work in indd CS6? The document will then be exported as an interactive pdf and the links need to work there as well.
The final product is the interactive pdf. I am just using indd to add a simple background to the content created in word. If there is any other way to preserve the hyperlinks, perhaps, by somehow adding the background in acrobat pro and excluding even taking the document into indd, please let me know.
    Mahalo!

    Thanks Lori for the reply.
Unfortunately. my Epson 3170 Photo does not come with scan-to-fax software.
I ended up creating a word doc and inserting the scans into it - on scan per page.
Thanks for the suggestion though. It is greatly appreciated.

  • Photoshop CS6 Repeated request for license number

How can I stop CS6 repeatedly requesting entry of the license number.
It is becoming a real pain!!

Here we are on January 6th and still no solution.
Having paid nearly £200 for the upgrade all I have received is a considerable amount of trouble. The problem has not only affected my upgrade to CS6 but it also seems to have stopped my RAW file processing in CS5 so that I am unable to undertake my normal working procedures.
Do ADOBE at head office know of these problems (I am aware that others have experienced similar difficulties.)?
I shall copy this reply to Adobe Systems in Ireland and UK as I feel that I have had a very raw deal in this matter. My computer systems are not unusual and are kept up to date. I have no problems with any other software and have only experienced these difficulties with Photoshop since the upgrade to CS6. Frankly it would seem that Adobe are now only interested in supporting those who are prepared to pay stupid monthly sums of cash!!!!
I have used, and still use:-  Adobe Premier, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Soundbooth and Adobe Audition and have had no difficulties with any of this software. I was seriously considering the purchase of Adobe InDesign but it appears that you only wish to support Cloud Membership purchases now so I shall have to re-think that as well. I’m really fed up with Adobe at present. After 30 odd years it would seem you no longer require my patronage.
Having got that off my chest! I look forward to the session with Adobe to resolve these issues tomorrow at 12:00.
    Will post the result later.

  • Incorrect Process builds Pantone Color tables in INDD CS6 and CC.

Why are the Pantone Color tables/libraries in INDD CS6 and CC giving the incorrect process builds?

I did just that in CS 5.5 and I received a different build. I got 100C,84.22M,41.89Y and 50.43K this is different than the builds I was getting before and matches neither.
If you want the legacy definitions you have to follow the directions in the link in Peter's #1 post—delete the new PANTONE + spot libraries, install the old libraries and uncheck Use Standard Lab Values for Spots.
They also provided their brand sheet and neither of these match the readings from Illustartor or InDesign.
If you don't want color managed conversions of spot colors Pantone now provides CMYK simulation libraries—PANTONE + Color Bridge. Those colors are process and will attempt to simulate solid spot colors but for one assumed press profile. Color Bridge builds are still different from the legacy CMYK builds.

  • INDD CS6 error: "InDesign cannot open files in the "InDesign CS5.5 Document" format.

Working in CS6 on Mac OS X 10.7.5: When I double click an INDD file in the Finder, I get the following error from InDesign:
"The document "doc name" could not be opened. InDesign cannot open files in the "InDesign CS5.5 Document" format."
This just started recently and I have not been able to figure out why. I have not updated INDD or OS X. I can't think of anything else that changed, other than maybe a Java update. Have not updated to the latest OS yet.
The files I'm trying to open are files I created with CS6 - as recent as a few minutes ago.  I can open them fine using the File>Open command in InDesign so I can open them, but I can't open them by double clicking them in Finder or dragging them to the INDD icon in the dock.
The info in Finder's "Get Info" window says they are CS6 files set to open in CS6 and I have permissions to read and write. They are not locked.
This is not incapacitating, but rather annoying and slows me down since this is one of the most common ways I open files.
    Any suggestsion would be appreciated.

Probably won't work because it sounds like an OS problem of some sort, but you can try trashing the prefs. See Replace Your Preferences

  • Changes to using graphic settings in Bridge CS6 scripts

The "CS6 Tools Guide" document shows no changes in how graphical settings should be used for Foreground Colour, Background Colour, Fonts and Font Size, as well as the use of Images in panels.  All these work as before with scripts used in Photoshop CS6.  But with Bridge CS6 the use of an image will crash Bridge, whereas the settings for Colours and Fonts are just ignored.  Does Bridge CS6 now have customised settings for graphical changes to panels?  Or is this a bug?

I'd much rather have 32 bits that do what they ought to… sounds like CS6 has 48 that don't…

  • PS CS6 Scripted Pattern Fill Problem

    Hi,
Has any one seen this before?
When i do a normal Fill with Pattern the pattern is the right colour, image (1)
But if i select Scripted Patterns Image (2) it always comes out with random colours.

There is also a scripted UI for these scripts http://uebelephoto.com/CS6_Fill.html
Scripted Fill UI v 1.2 for Photoshop CS6
This script creates a User Interface for changing the variables in Photoshop CS6's new scripted fills, so the average user does not have to edit Photoshop's fill scripts. There is a readme file included with the zip download that describes the script in more detail and how to use it. This script is free and can be modified for your own use, but it can not be modified for resale.
This script is a work in progress and there are some bugs with it, which I will attempt to fix as time permits.
    Updated 5/1/2012
I do not use it nor do I understand its UI

  • Why does spellcheck suddenly freeze the program in INDD-CS6? Only happens on some characters/words.

I use CS6-INDD for Mac.  Sometimes during spellcheck everything freezes.  If I go to Force Quit I see that INDD "is not responding."  The type appears to have no odd characteristics.  Only happens sometimes.  How to stop it????

Ask in the ID forum and be more specific. We know nothing about your language settings, fonts used, paragraph styles and whatnot. It is imaginable that you are using a specific font with glyph substitution like ligatures and the spell checking can't deal with it or something like that...

  • INDD CS6 multiplies tab of the same document

When i start up Indesign CS6 on my macbook pro, sometimes it opens up automatically an infinite number of tab/ window of the same last document i've worked,

THer are two folders that hold the prefs (and the recovery folder is next to one of the prefs files) and the paths can be found at Replace Your Preferences
Note that these folders are HIDDEN in recent versions of OS X, so if you don't know how to access hidden user library folders see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 and later

  • InDesign CS5 and CS6 Scripting Changes/Incompatibilities

I'm new to InDesign scripting and need to write a very complex Javascript for InDesign using the Toolkit. My concerns are if CS5/5.5 users will be able to run the script written for CS6. Are there known incompatibilities with the different releases? If so, where can I find a document to compare the differences. I will probably need to support both CS5 and CS6 (and anything in between), so a possibly solution may be to build for CS5, but if I do, will I be missing out on any key new features of CS6?

There are differences from 1 DOM version to another and they can and will break your script if you haven't designed it to handle them. For example:
If you want to use script labels like me (because they are awesome) the following will break if you use CS5 or later:
    app.activeDocument.pageItems.item("myLabel").remove();
So you'd have to force the DOM to V6.0. But when doing so remember to revert back to the original version after you're done or you'll create bigger problems. This can be done like this:
    app.scriptPreferences.version = 6.0; // CS4's DOM version
    app.activeDocument.pageItems.item("myLabel").remove();
    app.scriptPreferences.version = 10.2; // Current CC DOM version
This is very inconvenient (for me at least), so I wrap functions that require DOM changes with a custom version changer to handle this for me. In regards to a list of incompatibilities? Not sure, maybe someone here has one, I know Jongware has a website with all the DOM changes from 1 version to another. This can be found here:
    Indesign JavaScript Help
    Hope this helps.

  • Trouble with AI transp in INDD CS6

    [CS6 on Mac]
I have a vector illustration with highlights created with gradient+screen and a shadow created with gradient+multiply. When I imported into INDD I was getting a solid ring around my highlights. So I re-saved the AI to v8 (the only version that allowed me access to the transparency flattener settings! All other versions of AI had those settings greyed out). That solved the issue of my highlights perfectly -- nice smooth fade to transparent. BUT, now my shadow, which previously was no problem, is banding. I went back to the AI, and with the transp flattener showing "high", I saved again, but this time as a version CS6 AI, but this did not solve the issue. I could easily re-create the shadow in INDD but I want to send this file out to others without these little time bombs in it. Thoughts??
