INDD Guides dragged from Ruler stop showing sporadically

Working on a iMac 27.5", Retina, OS 10.10.1 in InDesign CC
Dragging guides from ruler, suddenly the guides stop showing right in the middle of working on a document. And no, I didn't change any preferences or settings. Also, on a multi-page document, the guides will show on one page but not on another.
Aaaarrgh! Frustrating!!!
Anyone know how to fix this?
Help?

Is it only ruler guides, and not margin and column guides? And the shortcut Cmd+; (semicolon) doesn't make them hide/and/show?
It isn't because you are in Preview mode, is it?
The only time I have ever had quirky trouble with guides was whenever I made a new document, and in the new document dialog box, I had turned on the Preview switch. If I leave that off, I don't see the come-and-go problem of disappearing guides.

The iCloud backup only backs up your camera roll photos, not photo stream photos. Also, photos only remain in photo stream for 30 days. After that they are removed from your photo stream, but will remain on your devices that already have them. If all your photo stream photos are older than 30 days, that would explain why they don't stream to your iPhone 5 even though they are on your iPad.
To get them on your phone, you can use an app like PhotoSync, which will wirelessly transfer photos from any album (including photo stream) between your devices. Alternatively, you can save the photo stream photos to the camera roll on your iPad (by opening the My Photo Stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then import them to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), put them in a folder, then select the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync them to your phone.

Go to iTunes menu, STORE and sign out. Then you can sign in from there or create a new account which should match the account you have on your iPad and iPhone.

If I make a playlist of my favorite Sax players by dragging there songs from their homepage into my playlist not purchasing them. Mouse pointer drops clips while dragging from canvas to timeline

Hi, I hope some of you guys had the same and know how to solve it.
I'm have a problem with my mouse pointer dropping the clips in the timeline before I release the right button on my mouse.
I select a clip that I want to drag from canvas to timeline, I right click and drag it to timeline and FC only give me like 2 seconds to line up the clip on the timeline and then FC drops the clip into the timeline by itself. I don't even release the right button on my mouse. It seems like this is some kind of setting in FC.
The same thing happens when I try to drag the clips around the timeline, the pointer grabs the clip, but I can move the mouse all over the timeline and nothing happens.
And the last but also very frustrating part is when I try to scroll with the play head in the canvas, the mouse pointer grabs the playhead and holds it only for 2 seconds, then it drops it and I have to go and look for the playhead again and drag again.
An help and advice is appreciated.

Sure, I think you're are right.
I will lean them with time, it was just frustrating when all of a sudden nothing works. My compressor went nuts at the same time.
When I try to submit the compressor would say that "can't submit batch unable to connect to background process"
So, I didn't finish anything I was doing today. I went to exported using QT but the clip came out to me somewhat very shaky, in the moments when camera is zooming in it shows on the screen as it I'm zooming for 2 second and then stopping and then zooming again, it's not a smooth footage. Kind of making me think that my grafics card isn't good enough. I got to research this issue now. Oh.

Premiere Pro CC: Drag from source monitor to timeline

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out why this does not work. I can only drag video from the Source Monitor into my timeline. But when I try to drag audio, it just shows me a stop sign and no errors. So I can't really figure out why this is happening.
The workaround for this is to make the clip in the project window into it's own sequence, cut the clip and it's audio, and paste into the working timeline. However I don't think this is a good way of working and it's really annoying. Tried looking for results on how to fix this and only found ways of going around the problem instead of getting the problem resolved.

Dragging from the address bar to desktop... Why open a new window?

Running 64bit Windows 7 Pro with SP1 installed. Also running Internet Explorer 11.
When I drag the icon from the address bar of IE to my desktop to create a shortcut to that webpage, the current tab will close and a new browser window opens and loads the page. Why does this happen, and more importantly, how can I stop it?

I don't think it will be a show stopper...
another workaround is to store all of your links in your Favorites folder (or Favorites Bar folder)...
then the Address bar autocomplete makes it easy to retrieve the web address and navigate back to the website....
If you are using the desktop to store your downloads (zips/whatever), there is no need for this as the IE Download Manager will retain a listing of downloaded files (until you clear it)... you can also choose to save your downloads to the Desktop folder

Partial solution to the "Video on Demand won't resume from paused/stopped point" issue

I don't know if there's a better place to post this...if so, plmelt me know.
I had the same problem - here's what seems to be working on my system (DVR model # QIP7232-P2).
If you're watching an on demand show, and wish to exit the show, but resume watching later at the point where you left off:
1. While your on demand content is playing, press the 'GUIDE' button on your remote. This should bring up the TV programming guide, with 'FiOS On Demand' showing as channel 900. Your on demand show should still be playing in the small box on the screen.
2. Use the number buttons on the remote to enter another channel, hit 'OK' to move the guide to that channel, then hit 'OK' again to change the TV to that channel.
This should save the on demand show at the approximate location (+/- 1 minute) where you stopped watching, and allow you to view other content (live TV; DVR recorded shows). When you're ready to resume watching the on demand show:
3. Bring up the On Demand menu (tune to channel 900 -OR- press the 'MENU' button on the remote and scroll down to VOD -OR- press the 'ON DEMAND' button on the remote).
4. Navigate to the show you were previously watching.
5. Hit the 'OK' button on the remote, and select 'Resume Play' from the option menu. This should resume the show within 1 minute of where you left off.
Again, it works on my DVR model, and so far, I've only tried it on the free network TV shows, but I don't see why it shouldn't work on other models/program types

This has worked for me to get a VOD to resume. Instead of selecting the video directly and pressing resume, try going to MY LIBRARY under the VOD menu and then MY RENTALS. Video should be there and every time I have done this the resume function worked. IMPORTANT - It won't if you try it from the normal selection method before going to MY LIBRARY as this resets the position flag to the beginning.
As with all unofficial "fixes" YMMV

Email disappears after dragging from inbox to subfolder. It is not lost because if it is unread it shows as an unread email in the sub folder. When I set the folder to view # of emails the # of emails shows next to the folder, but the actual emails do not.Also
if the email that is moved to a subfolder has not been read it will show an unread email in the subfolder but still not be able to view the actual email.
This does not happen on all subfolders.

Tried resetting the view on that folder already? You can do this via the View tab.
Otherwise, you'll have to share more details like at least your version of Outlook and type of email account.

HP Pavilian System Fan 90B Error Options Stopped showing up after a few minutes

I've gas thus pavilion g6 laptop for a year and some months now and I got the error message telling me to go to the hp tech center site. I took out the battery last night and left there there still morning when I turned in the computer it said the same thing then I took the batter out really quick then put it back in and the error screen about the fan stopped showing up but i don't think the fan is working, I don't feel any breeze coming from it... I don't know I'd it's fixed... Can I fix it...? Without breaking my computer open?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I saw your post regarding the problem with the fan. You are going to have to open up the notebook to replace the fan or you can take it to a local technician. If you want to do it yourself here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for your model. On page 75 you will find the part number for the fan and instructions on removing the heat sink assembly which the fan is apart of.
