Indenting of a previously written article by me into an ibooks author book?

Is it necessary to indent a previously written short article by me when I put it into my ibooks author book? How would I do it since I already have it in a page with other text before and after it? Can all the paragraphs (5) be indented at one time?

This has proved unsatisfactory to me so far. Lines are left in etc.

There are two basic menus for fonts - one from the main menu bar and one from the toolbar. You can also bring up the font manage dialog.
I don't recommend trying to hard to force an otherwise foreign font, as it inevitably needs to be usable/supported on iOS as well, and that can get tricky w/3rd party fonts, as an example, even with the expanded font support in the latest iBA.
If you need to discuss fonts more, I suggest starting a new thread....preferably with a slightly more brief title, thanks.

Trouble extracting data from a previously written file

I am trying to extract two arrays from a previously written file, which contains two arrays, seperated by a /t char. The files are saved in this format;
Wavelength(nm)ower(W):
*lambda1**power1*
*lambda2**power2*
"lambda#" and "power#" are both actually numbers, but I wanted to illustrate that they correlate.
Furthermore, with the extracted data, I would like to write a new file, which uses the information (during another sweep) to calculate a third value (called EQE), which is dependant on the power and current at a given wavelength. So while the VI is reading current per lambda, it should also be able to find out what the power value at said lambda was and calculate the EQE.
The VIs I have so far are attached. The third portion of "problem.vi" is enclosed in a while loop, so it repeats a lot of times.

Use a Read Text File function. Right-click on it and there will be an option to read lines or characters. If you set it to read lines and leave the number unwired, it will by default read a single line. You don't care about the header data, so don't worry about the output unless you want to show it on the front panel for debug reasons. From there, read the rest of the file as you already have.

How do I add paragraph indentation to a style in iBooks Author?

I have a book with a lot of quoted verse in it, which needs to be indented. In order to make the verse distinctive to the eye, it's both slightly tighter set than the rest of the text, and left-indented.
I can set up the tighter settings and save them as a style, but there seems to be no way to indicate indentation in iBooks Author.
Currently I go in and use list indentation in each instance of the verse, which isn't the right way to go.
What am I missing?

Try using the Inspector/Text/Tabs...see if it supplies the control you need.

Thanks. I've tried this and apparently the template I'm using is one of those where it doesn't work. I've tried dragging it as well as cutting a pasting but it always travels back to the end of the book. Maybe I can try changing the template temporarily, move the preface page, and then convert back to the original template. I'll experiment a little.

If I copyone of them and do a past special/value, it does not work.
Try just Paste instead of Paste Special > Value
I know your question is about Excel, but this works in Numbers:
Copy 1 234 567 (with spaces) and Paste (not Paste Special) into a Cell in a Numbers Table. The result is 1234567 and it behaves as a number. A formula will consider it to be a number:

The reference is from Cell A2 to Cell A1 through a formula, such as: =A1+1

Can I insert an article that is a .pdf file into an iBook?

I am trying to insert an article into an iBook but I cannot see any option in the Help topics for adding a .pdf file. Do I treat it as an "image"?

I have found that Author treats a pdf as an image. When i have multiple pages in a pdf or want it to be searchable, I make a Keynote of the text and then add an HTML Keynote

What version of Word and what is the file extension?
What is it about the text that is different?
When you say fond do you mean font/typeface? If so what font, and is it on your Mac? Is there something special/different about this font?

Either use copy/paste and then format/style as desired, or take it to Pages or WORD and insert chapters - which may still require resettling.
If you're looking for a 1:1 port, with all styles and layout intact, you may be dissapointed, tho.

I write a newsletter...in order to add the previously saved articles to the form, I am forced to use the form as a draft in order to go back and forth. Extremely irritating and awkward. please help

The newsletter is for nurses. I save "blurbs" from articles w' the link all month long. I then pull up the form for the newsletter and (while on AOL) I used to diminish the form copy the "blurb" and enlarge the form and paste the article. Although this sounds awkward, it was relatively easy and quick. I then posted the completed Newsletter form on our website.
However, since I acquired DSL and using Firefox.....I am in a quandary. I can not do as I have previously done. I am forced to make a draft of the Newsletter, copy the ''blurb'' , pull up the draft and paste , then save the draft. Very very awkward and and can become confusing if interruptions take place. Then, send a notice BCC to segments of 10 members or more (there are about 800 members) that the newsletter is posted. What an ordeal. I finally figured out to make the roster a 2nd draft and the form letter a 1st draft. Saving each over and over. Exhausting. The Notice is monthly....

How do you retrieve notes previously written as they seem to delete themselves and I am losing work

I have twice lost notes in the past week as the system seems to be deleting them. Any ideas why? Had a techi person look at it (who should know about iPads) but he couldn't help either. Getting so frustrated as losing hours of work.

In your Notes app, do you see Accounts at the top left? If so, click on it, then click on All Notes.

Why Illustrator 10 crashes using files previously written to CD?

Help! I'm using Illustrator 10 in Windows XP Pro, s.p. 3. Lenovo p.c.
Want to copy files to a c.d. using CD Write Wizard (Windows program). OK with straight .ai files, but had trouble with composited files (ie, multiple .ai files placed on one page) until realized that I had to first save the composite file as tif or eps with embedded .ai files. OK, was then able to complete the copy without crashing. But now, I can open a composite file (.eps or .tif) once in Illustrator, but when I try to open another file, Illlustrator just shuts down, If re-open and try to open another file from the CD, I get a Windows fatal error. Says "cannot reference memory xxxyyy". Suggestions appreciated.

Copy the files to your hard drive and try opening them from the hard drive, faster access tiems adn taeks some variables out of the picture..
If you are still having trouble, copy all your placed files into a folder and call it "images_unlinked" then try to open your illuitrator file. Sometimes a corrupt image can cause your memory table to become corrupted.

Hello Robert,
With the latest version of iTunes on Windows, the menu bars are hidden, and it sounds like yours need to be enabled before you can authorize your computer. You can follow these steps to enable the menu bars:
To keep the iTunes menus active, change the setting by selecting the Menu icon in the upper-left, and then selecting Show Menu Bar. Alternatively, you can press Control-B.
