Indenting of Consumables and stationary items ZCON - Auto PR generations
Dear All,
We are Diagnostics industry having around more than 1000 consumables & Stationary items under Material Type : ZCON
Manual PR is being prepared every month after reviewing stock and past consumption. But it takes lots of energy to review each materials every time.
I am looking finding following options for Auto PR generation ; please suggest relevant transactions or practices in similar industries
a ) Entering Minimum Stock Level in Master
b) Material Category to ND/PD or other
c) System Alert after getting lower level of stock. etc..
Please suggest the practice or any transactions.

Hi,
You can use CBP (Consumption-Based Planning) for achieving this.
You need to :
1. maintain a MRP Type (VB), Re-Order Point and Lot Size in Material master for teh products.
2. Run MRP at regular intervals (daily / weekly depending upon the consumption patern)
System will automatically create a PR for each product that has stock level below RoP.

Unable to set default date for Date Picker item using Auto Row Processing
Okay, I have searched through the forum for an answer, and have not found a thing to account for my problem.
First, does anyone know if using Auto Row Processing has problems updating an item/field in a record where the Source is defined as Database Column if the 'Display As' is defined as 'Date Picker (MM/DD/YYYY)'?
I ask this only because I found out the hard way that Auto Row Processing does NOT fetch the value for an item where the field is defined as TIMESTAMP in the database.
My problem is as follows: I have a form that will CREATE a new record, allowing the user to select dates from Date Pickers, text from Select Lists, and entering in text into a Textarea item. The information is saved using a standard (created through the Auto Row Processing wizared) CREATE page level button. After the record is created the user is able to go into it and update the information. At that time, or later, they will click on one of two buttons, 'ACCEPT' or 'DECLINE'. These are Item level buttons, which set the REQUEST value to 'APPLY' (Accept) and 'UPDATE' (Decline). The Accept button executes a Process that changes the Status Code from 'Initiated' to 'Accepted', and sets the Declined_Accepted_Date to SYSDATE, then another Process SAVEs the record. The Declined button runs a Process that changes the Status Code from 'Initiated' to 'Declined', and sets the Declined_Accepted_Date to SYSDATE, then another Process SAVEs the record.
However, even though the Status Code field is updated in the database record in both Accepted and Declined processing, the Declined_Accepted_Date field remains NULL in the database record (by looking at the records via SQL Developer). WHY??? I looked at the Session State values for both the Status Code and the Declined_Accepted_Date fields and saw that the fields (items) had the expected values after the process that SAVEs the record.
The following is the code from the Accept button Page Process Source/Process:

As can be seen, the Status Code and Declined_Accepted_Date items are set one right after the other.
As an aside, just what is the difference between Temporary Session State vs Permanent Session State? And what is the sequence of events to differentiate the two?Here's yet another thing that I just looked into, further information...
One other difference between the date field I am having problems with (Accepted_Declined_Date), and other dates (with Date Pickers) in the record is that the Accepted_Declined_Date never gets displayed until after it is set with a default date when the Accept and Decline buttons are pressed.
One of the other dates that works, the Received Date, is able to write a default date to the record that is never typed into the box or selected from the calendar. That date is placed into the box via a Post Calculation Computation in the Source, which I set up as: NVL(:P205_REF_RECEIVED_DT,TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'MM/DD/YYYY'))
However, I do remember actually trying this also with the Accepted_Declined_Date, and setting the Post Calculation Computation did not work for the Accept_Decline_Date. Could this be because the Accept_Decline_Date is never rendered until the Status Code is set to Declined (in other words, there is no need to display the date and allow the user to change it until the record is actually declined)???
The control of the displaying (rendering) of the date is set via the Conditions / Condition Type: Value of Item in Expression 1 = Expression 2
Expression 1 = P205_STATUS_CD and Expression 2 = L

We want to maintain stock of stationary items, and these items are procured externally.
Which material type and valuation class to be used for it?

If you have considered as a non stock materila. then you can procure for consumption account..
This can be done through in Standard PO mention Account assignment category as K and given the G/L account and procure... so that while doing the GR it will hit the cost center account and also materila will not be valuated
or else make frame work order where u dont required to do the GR.... direct invoice verification
Examples on where this business process can be used include: Services: example buying flowers, travel. Perticular if the receipt process is not very formalised. It is also sometimes used for utilities (water, electricity...). -
Item Attribute - Auto Expire ASN
All,
There is a profile option under VMI on the General Planning Tab for items called Auto Expire ASN. The only thing I have found is in the Inventory User's Guide - "If selected, the advanced shipment notice for the item expires."
Can anyone provide insight in to how this attribute works? Is it only for VMI items?

How exactly can you do that? What kind of item type and attributes should I use?
I don't see anything that jumps out at me as a method for doing an LOV unless it uses a custom application component attribute - but that doesn't sound that it would work or would be searchable via a search engine!

Serial Number assignment for main items and sub items

My client's requirement is to maintain the serial numbers, so in this regard when i am confirming production order in this i need some information how the serial numbers are picked and consumed for main items and the sub items.

Hi all
We are currently busy finalising our FI-CA BW Data Modeling exercise - and in process to complete Dataflow documentation.
We will make use of the standard open and cleared item extractors with enhancements on different levels. Some background on the requirements:
- We will have to extract document types, divisions, dates, clearing reasons, contract account, Business Partner etc.. information to meet the requirements.
- We will have to keep history for at least 26 months to produce the required management reports (very high number of data), and 'partition' the cubes on date level for both Cleared and Open Items.
- Most of the reports display 13 months worth of billing/ payment figures. I.e. the report for the end of October show billings vs. payments for October 2006, September, August, July, ... to October 2005.
- The requirement is that the report figures will not change from one month to the next (i.e. if I run the report for end of October - all figures from October 2006 to Oct 2005 will remain the same when I run the report for end of November). I.e. if reversals, transfers, returns etc. occur - these will be picked up in later months.
- For the above requirement, we are looking at extracting open (end of month) and cleared items (for the specific monthly interval) on a monthly basis, and appending the data in the cubes. We will then always base the June figure in the report on the June month extraction (LAUFD/ LAUFI fields) and we will pick up any movement in the next month/s - i.e. July.
Has anyone had these types of requirements before - to report on billings vs. payments, and report on history as described above. We would appreciate it if you could share your report requirements, and also design documents, especially the DataFlow documentation that we can look at as input to our design.We had a requirement to retrieve "aging of receiveables" by customer. Basically, it goes thru each record and depending on the due date places the amounts in the following buckets (example). 0-30 day Overdue, 31-60 days Overdue, 61-90 days overdue, 30+ days overdue, 60+ days overdue) etc all the way to 6+ years overdue.
There are also cooresponding buckets for coming due analysis. For example, what is: 0-30 days coming due, 31-60 days coming due, 30+ days coming due, etc...
To do this, first I needed to be able be able to produce an open items statement at any given time in the past. Now, this seems impossible because of how the items go from open to cleared all the time. And an item that was open one month ago, may not be open anymore.
What I did was first remove any selections on item status. Then compare the posting date with teh key date in the past, if the posting date is less than or equal to the key date, keep the record.
Then compare the clearing date with the key date. First, keep all that are #. (This keeps all records still open from that posting date/key date)
Then, add another check for all items that were cleared after the key date (GT Key Date). This gives you the open items on that date.

FK10N will give me the periodic bal statements and NOT line items display which will also have balance carried forward.
F.41 and F.43 again gives the periodic and line items...but i want the vendor balances to be in the format given above..
like say, account statement.

i know the report FBL5N is use DDF LDB and the report work flow is BSID->BKFP->BSEG
but i don't know to differentiate Open Items and Cleared items in this report.
Open items and Cleared items stand for a field flag in these table (BSID,BKFP,BSEG )? if true the field is?
or they must be calc in program ? if true what about calc rules?

Here is the difference in Open Items and Cleared Items.
In FI first the document is Open (when it is posted) so the entry is made in table BSID. Once the document is cleared, it will move from BSID to BSAD. And for Cleared item you will see Clearing Document no and Clearing date values updated (these are blank when the item is open).
The only difference in Open and Cleared is via Clearing Document and Clearing Date. If the values are present, it means document is cleared.

Interest calculation on Open items and cleared items
Dear Experts
I am trying to do needful configuration for interest indicator on which interest can be calculated for open items and cleared items as well. But, system is calculating interest for open items properly, but not calculating interest on cleared items with same interest indicator, I am repeatedly getting error "interest calculation indicator is not compatible with this type of interest calculation"
Is it possible to use same interest indicator for open line items and cleared line items of customer?
If possible, request you share the needful config steps to do same.

depending on the requests you can setup a item interest calculation or a balance interest calculation "Define calculation types".
IIC: check settings (item selection, all cleared items, only items with payment, no cleared items) "Prepare item interest calculation"
I guess you have setup the item interest calculation - maybe you have mixed some entries with BAIC.
Check in "Prepare account balance interest calculation" whether you have entries with the indicator you want to use.
At least check your entries in "Define time-based Terms" If you have entries with Balance account interest calculation the system gives even an error.

G/L Balance and Line items difference
Dear Mates,
We have a Inventory-Spare Parts G/L account
When i see the FS10N g/l balances ,there is a figure appearing as 25,82,887/- in the period February and when i double click on the above said figure to see the line items whose total comes to 30,89,627/- with doc.type: WA.
Can please tell me ,what could be reason for the difference between Balance appearing on the initial screen and line items total.
Please treat it very urgent as auditors are sitting on my head.

Opening Balance at the start of fiscal year
Debits and Credit during the reporting period
and the Cumulative Balance.
Please note the above report will not give you line item details.
S_ALR_87012247 report is specifically for poland, in the description it is mentioned that the line items will be displayed, unfortunately, for other countries, there are no line items visible. Therefore, you may explore the possibility of copying this report and changing the code in order to bring the line items along with the totals. -
Chart and text items are not synchron
hi all,
i am a newbie in apex 4.0.
i have two regions. the first shows a chart, based on pl/sql-code. second shows text items for possible filter an the current statement of the chart.
when user clicks on a bar in the chart then
1. i set the the first text item as filter,
2. a pl/sql-code runs, build a sql statement, assign the sql statement string to the second text item and
3. returns the statement for the chart.
it works fine. the chart refresh. and the data i can see are correct.
but the text items in the other region doesn't refresh.
when i press "refresh"-button at browser level everything is fine. chart and text items fits together.
what can I do to refresh all regions when the chart changes the sql-statment / User clicks?
Is there any way to read out the current statement of a chart?

Edited by: Jogi on 09.05.2011 12:31Bernd: the reason I asked about views is that you don't have any error messages. This might indicate that (a) you have no items in the view, or (b) there's something wrong with view-role-user assignment.
To check for (a), please go to the published procurement catalog, and go to Views tab. Check that your View is Active. Click on your View ID link to display view details. You should see a list of characteristics assigned to your view in Assign Characteristics sub-tab (the list should not be blank!). Go to Assign Items sub-tab. Navigate in your schema to find items that are supposed to be assigned to your view. You should see "Yes" in the "Assigned" column for those products. If you don't, then you simply don't have any items in your view.
Another thing I'd like you to check: when the user calls your procurement catalog for search, do you see the name of the catalog displayed just below the drop-down "Select Categories Hierarchically"?
