Independent Application Component - Developed by Oracle9i AS

We have developed an Intranet Application using Oracle9i
Application Server(Portal)and Oracle 8i. We would like to run
this product wothout having Oracle 9i AS(Portal).
Is it possible to convert the Oracle 9i AS Application as
executable file.If there is anyother alternative way to run this
application without 9i AS , plz.mail me.

I have solved the problem.
As you suggested, this is a new system.
I ran RSA9 TCode for installing "Application Component Hierachy". After installed, i got all Application Component Hierachy" in RSO2.

Can not create an Application Component on SAP R/3 system

I have a source as SAP R/3 ( ECC 6.0 ) and Target as SAP BW 7.0
a)Log on to SAP BW 7.0 and used the ID3CLNT400 source system , by using Modeling --
> Source System -- choose Customizing Extractors from the context menu of the source system ID3CLNT400
In the transaction SBIW on the SAP Source system , choose the Business Information Warehouse -- > Post Processing of DataSources
 > Edit DataSources and Application Component Hierarchies.
Choose the IMG Activity Here , I am getting one warning.
"NO Valid Application Component Exists"
When I hit the continue button .
Here when I create an Application Component and SAVE the changes, I am getting the following error.
Package "Z_Train" doesnt exists. Chose "Display Object " or "Cancel"
Because of this , I couldnt creat an Application component and also couldnot load any thing on the SAP BW side. Also , I am no way connected to the "Z_TRAIN" Package

I am working on Production system when I go to rsa5 it displaying the msg

Diagnosis
Currently no application component hierarchy ("APCO_MERGED", database table RODSAPPL and RODSAPPLT) exists in the system. This is required in BW so that the DataSources can be displayed correctly in the source system tree.
Procedure
Copy the application component hierarchy from the Content using transaction RSA9.
In development system I went to RSA9 & transferred the application componet then its asks or pkg name I have given the pkg name also before use the datasrcs , I have transported the same thing to production before transporting the datasrcs but in production the application component herarachy did not get transported I think that why its giving the msg No valid application component hierarchy exists but my datasrcs got transported ,pls suggest me what has to be done
Should I import the same request in to production again
Or shall I run rsa9 again & transfer the application component hierarchy again & transport it to production id I do this will already transported datarscs have any effect in production

Webdynpro ABAP independent application

hello,
I have developed independent application of webdynpro ABAP
i want to integrate it on portal
i have page, create iview, assign application url to the iview - all this i do in portal content administration etc
but in later versions, instead of iview etc, there is bankend transaction code, ie tcode in R/3 where I can assign my web dynpro application to portal
I need the name of that transaction code. kindly help with your inputs

Hi Bhakti,
AFAIK there is no such kind of facility available so that you can directly assign your webdynpro into the portal using any t-codes.
But the SAP Enterprise Portal supports the Web Dynpro application development with functions like:
Event handling of portal events
Navigation between Web Dynpro applications within the portal or to any portal content
WorkProtect mode
And With Web Dynpro you create interactive Web-based user interfaces for business applications. The portal allows the role-based and secure access to different kinds of information (structured or non-structured), services, and applications using a Web Browser.

Unable to see the Application component 0PA_PD

Hi BW Experts,
I am able to see the application component 0PA_PD under application component PA in our development system. I have activated a data source under 0PA_PD in the development system. I then moved the data source to our test system (R/3). However in our BW test system, I am unable to see the application component 0PA_PD under PA in the modeling and hence am unable to replicate the data source in the test system.
Could you please advice what I have to do in order to see the application component in the test system.

I did replication of the top application component PA but still the 0PA_PD did not show up.
I also ran the RSA9 and still the 0PA_PD did not show up under the PA. Other application components like 0PA_BN are appearing under PA but not the 0PA_PD.
I checked the test R/3 system and the data source is available under the application component 0PA_PD. But somehow the 0PA_PD is not appearing on the test BW system.
Please help.

Adding an application component - missing something obvious

Hi,
We just upgraded to portal (running server and portal on windows nt) and I am developing. We have reports already completed in reports 6i. However, I am having trouble adding them to the pages or even in the "other providers" listed in portlet repository. The report is connected, as when I click on "edit" and then "run," it runs. I just don't know what I need to do so that the report shows in the "application component" when I click on "add item."
I am sure that I am missing something obvious. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to transport Application Component Hierarchy of source system

Hi,
Our BW pulls data from CRM.
In CRM Development, all content/generic datasources are placed under specific nodes in Application Hierarchy which I can see in RSA6.
But all these datasources exist under NODESNOTCONNECTED node in CRM-Quality !!! How can I transport application component hierarchy ??

If your application component hierarchy is assigned to local object then first you need to change the package.
Go to TCode: SE03
For Object Type Selection use: DSAA
Object: APCO
Now change object directory from $TMP to the one being used in your porject.
Also check OSS notes:

For changing the paackage:
Go to TCode: SE03
Select option Change Object Directory entries (Under Folder Object Directory)
In the next screen you box Selection by Object you look for the 1st emptly line
Or you can also click on create object directory button
In the Object type box (Small box for 4 chars) type in DSAA or you can also do F4 and find it..
Then in the box next to it you put in the Object Name
In this case it should be APCO (if this does not work try apco_merged)
Select it and hit execute...
OR
try se09 - choose workbench request - cursor position on request, menu - request/task->object list->include object->freely selected objects
under 'selection by type and name' choose 'selected', mark the checkbox on last blank line, and give 'dsaa' and *
in next screen, cursor on 'apco' and click icon 'in request' (include in request), do the same for 'apco_merged'.
release the request and transport.

RE: Application component is BLANK in PSA for 2LIS_03_UM

User perform settlement thru K088. I performed RSA3 to check the data. The application component and transaction key is filled with value.
I checked the BI prod and look into the PSA for the same accounting document. Here, the application component is missing and so is the transaction key. Becuase of it, there is no update on the revaluation to the SOH value.
Can some one tell me why it is happening like that.?
I did a similiar check on my DR system (copy of LIVE data) and does a similiar operation and extract it to my development BI box.
In this setup, both the Dr and BI development shows that the application component is filled. so is the transaction key.
Is there some patches missing in my SAP PROD.box?

1. select industry sector in T.CODE: MCB_( process keys will be activated)
2. select NDI and BW options in TCODE: BF11.
after that recheck it again

Whatever you have on infosource,will have same components.
Goto RSA1 then source systems. double click on source system then right click on ypur R/3 source system then say display datasource tree.

Exception During Testing WebDynpro Application in Developer Studio

1)During Recording i am getting successful result as follows

assume you deleted Application Component in development(we are not discussing abt transportation here). Deleted application hierarchy already moved to BW(meaning already replicated). next time if you replicate in BW, recently deleted Hierarchy will be deleted in BW as well.
if it is new Application Hierarchy, it will be appeared in BW after replication.
Once you delete the application hierarchy,it will generate request number(provided it's laready assigned to Request and released). New application hierarchy needs to assigned to Transport Request Manually. check in Forum you will find lot of material(SAP Note: 382471.

Transport Application component hierarchy problem

Hello, I need to transport the App Comp Hierarchy, in our R3 when i do RSA9 it asks for package, but in our ICH and SRM box it didnt prompt the request. I've read the previous posts where create a request and assign a objects manually
as in note 382471

when i try to do this either in our Customizing or ABAP client i get this error..

Logon on to ur development system go to RSA9 then it will pop up u the screen to transfer the application component yes or no , u say yes then it will ask for the package name ,give the package name which u have already created ,
then go to se09 & relase the request ,now logon in to other system eg: - quality system ask u basis person to import that request in to quality
