Independent reqmt consumption

Hi,
I am using Stategy 50 where the independent requirements are consumed for final assembly only when sales order comes.
But the client requirement is that Ind reqmnts to be consumed only when prodcution order is created.
please let me is there any possibilty?

Yes, that is how I understood it.
My requirement is when the MRP run for Customer requirements,the planned orders to be generated for 10 nos.
But the reduction of forecasted planned orders should happen only when i convert 10 nos planned order to Production order.
Let is focus on what would happen  after  the customer order arrives, but before you actually convert the planned to production.
Depending on the time lag, MRP could run multiple times.   During this period, you have two planned orders:  One unconvertible for 100 (from PIR rqment) and one convertible for 10 (from the SO rqment).  The total of these two orders is 110 Nos.  Each of these orders will generate dependent requirements for the lower level components.  One assumes that your purchasing people are going to use these dependent requirements to buy raw materials.  Eventually, you will have enough raw materials to build 110 FGs.
This scenario could be repeated over and over as new sales orders appear.  With each sales order entered, you get additional clones of demand (the forecast is never consumed but sales orders add to the demand).  Unless you convert every planned order immediately, you run the risk of increasing your total requirements over the amounts that you predicted you were going to sell.
Now, today, you convert the FGs planned order to a production order.  Suddenly, the forecast is now consumed, and now the total Rqments for FGs is 100 (90 from PIR and 10 still existing from the Sales order).  MRP runs, and generates a planned order for 90 (non convertible)(let's don't quibble right now about MRP parameters, the overall effect is the same).  Now, the planned order for 90 Nos and the Production order for 10 Nos create dependent requirements for the components.  You now have requirements for the components to support 100 Nos of FGs.  You clearly do not need the extra 10 Nos worth of Raw material that you thought you needed 'yesterday'.
To answer your original question, SAP does not have a strategy that exactly meets these requirements.  I personally would never try to implement such a strategy.

    I wish to know if the consumption of the product from MD61, is based on MM MRP3 view settings only???
    We use,
    Consumption mode: 4 (Backward/Forward)
    Backward Consp :999
    Forward Consp :999
    Once goods issue done on today's date, I can see the part to be consumed first from the current week's demand & then it goes either forward or backward based on the MRP3 setting.
    But meaningfully, it must consume from the oldest date (meaning back-date) of when the demand was created right???
    I can give ex. Assume we are currently in wk 19. If the demand is created like,
    wk 17 - 2
    wk 18 - 1
    wk 19 - 2
    wk 20 - 1
    When I set the Consumption mode to -02 (backward/forward) & if I create a sales order for 4 pcs.
    After I do GI, I see the demand as below,
    wk 17 - 1
    wk 18 - 0
    wk 19 - 0
    wk 20 - 1
    Becos I have set backward first & then forward, it consumes first from the current week's demand of 2 pcs & for the next 2 pcs, it goes to wk 18 & wk 17.
    But supposedly it should take from this order wk 17, wk 18 & then wk 19.
    Pls do share if there are any settings need to be done on Delivery side, as this is affecting only when I do PGI.

    Hi Surendra,
    For better control, the forecast quantity should match the sales order quantity for plg strategy 40.  If there are cases when sales order quantity is greater than forecast, you can create a control check in ECC to inform the users who creates the sales orders to get a popup message to create a sales order with rush order type or any other type to track the excess sales orders received against forecast.
    In SNP, once this rush order is entered, upon subsequent net change heuristic plan which runs day night, it considers those excess quantities and puts up purchase requisitions and procurement & production can be planned based using those PRs in SNP.

  • How to extract planned independent reqmts allocated quantity ref MD73

    Hi expert,
    I am looking for a hint that I could share with our developer on how to get the unallocated/or allocated portion of a planned independent requirement (we are developping a kind of multilevel shortage report). For exemple, report MD73 provide this information and in MD04 we see the unallocated portion.
    Is there anyone who was able to program this using function module, tables or anything else? The standard BAPI like BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_GETDETAIL doesn't provide this information.
    Someone recommended to use tables MDKP,MDPS but not sure if could achieve my goal. Some other recommended fm REQUIREMENTS_ALLOCATION but I'm not convince eigther. I hope there is a simpler way.

    I maybe tempted by MD_MRP_LIST_API since the report we develop will be generated after our daily MRP run. This FM provides right away the information for scenarios with MPN-MRP set (materials with interchangeabilities). I don't see yet how to get this with MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST.
    Could you explain why you used  Requirements Allocation module? Are you refering to the fm REQUIREMENTS_ALLOCATION ? Is it to know which items have PIR (we are currently using BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_GETDETAIL for this)?
    By any chance would you know what is the parameter INPER wich is passed to the fm MD_MRP_LIST and MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST ?

  • Strategy 92 don't consumption the Pir for WBS element

    Dear Gurus,
    i insert in the material master MRP3 the group strtegy 92 (Planning with final assembly).
    After we insert in the MD61 the planned indipendent requierement whit the transaction MD61 and
    we set the field "Acct Asst Cat" = Q and the insert the WBS Element.
    After when whit the transaction VA01 we create the sale order position whit the same WBS element the system
    don't consumption the Pir , but propose the double quantità to product.
    I need use the WBS element in the Pir and in the Sale order but i need to consuption the Pir quantity whit the sale order quantity.
    There is the customizing settinG?

    and also check
    Reqmt type of customer reqmts
    is Allocation Indicator is set as 1?
    IF Not
    maintain in OVZG for your Requirement Class specified in strategy for customer requirement
    for PIR Requirement Class maintain the setting In OMPO

  • Restricting PIR consumption based on custom Order Type

    Hello Experts,
    We have implemented BADI MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS in our system ( Version 4.7 )so that we can restrict the consumption of Order Reservations.
    For this we have added code as per OSS Notes# 608760 and 127370 for the BADI Interface.
    We have included MRP Element "AR" so that consumption can happen for the order reservations.
    The BADI is restricting consumption of PIR now for the order reservations, but now we want to restrict the Consumption of independent requirement only against reservation generated by customized Order type ( Say ZXXX ).
    Does this functionality exist for this BADI? If yes,then how can we implement this?

    You can use Business Add-In (BAdI) MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS to make the consumption and reduction processes for planned independent requirements more flexible.
    In the SAP R/3 standard system there were previously four possibilities for consumption and reduction of planned independent requirements (planned independent requirements consumption indicator):
    SPACE     no consumption
    '1'     Consumption with customer requirements (planned independent requirements)
    '2'     Consumption with dependent requirements, dependent and manual reservations, release order requirements from stock transfers (dependent requirements)
    '3'     Consumption with planned independent requirements and dependent requirements
    You can use Business Add-In MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS to realize consumption processes in which there are controls to define for each MRP element whether consumption or reduction should occur.
    This Business Add-In replaces modification note 127370 in release 4.70.

  • Forecast Consumption Reduces Planned Quantity

    All, I would appreciate the Community's feedback with regards to why we are seeing the forecast (Planned Qty in RRP3) reduced.
    A number of examples have been identified where the forecast quantity has been reduced by the withdrawn quantity and the Remaining Quantity reflects the Planned Quantity.
    We are more used to seeing the forecast remain as per the DP forecast but Remaining Quantity reducing by the sum of allocated quantity and withdrawal quantity.
    Columns represent From and To dates, Plan Qty (Forecast from DP), Withdrawals, Allocated, Remaining Plan Qty.
    Row 1 is the reduced forecast which when released to SNP = 516 for the w/c 04.08.2014

    Question 9: What are common reasons for the reduction not  occurring?
    Response:
    For planning strategies with planned independent requirements consumption: Have the prerequisites for the consumption been fulfilled (see Note 772856)? Were there independent requirements quantities to be reduced at the time of the goods movement in the forward/backward consumption periods (planning quantity > 0)?
    For goods movements from inventory management (MM): Is the 'Independent requirements reduction' (PABKZ) indicator set for the movement type (transaction OMJJ)?
    For goods movements from SD (for example, transaction VL02) for reducing the make-to-stock production (requirements type LSF): Is the 'Requirement reduction' (PABKZ) indicator set in the requirements class of the customer requirement (transaction OVZG)?
    For stock transfers/transfer postings: A reduction does not occur for stock transfers in a planning segment. Only stock transfers between different plants, MRP areas and planning segments can reduce planned independent requirements.
    Is an MRP type that provides 'Reorder point planning', 'Forecast-based planning' or 'No material requirements planning' set for the material? See the modification of Note 68641 if you want to allow the reduction for these materials.

  • Sales Order and Production in different plants

    Dear Experts,
    I have a scenario where Customer specific Sales orders (MTO) will be created in one common plant, whereas production can happen in 2 other plants.
    The common plant doesn't physically exists and is created in SAP to cater common requirements (raw materials, plant equipment, shared services, common items etc).
    There are 2 ways to create Sales order:
    1. Create order for both production plants in individual plants. (In SO line, specify the individual plant)
    2. Create order for the common plant. The requirements should be distributed to both the production plants.
    If I go with the 2nd option, SD, LE and QM will not have pain areas.
    But, when i run MRP, the SD requirement will show in common plant. How can I transfer that to production plant?
    I do have PIRs in individual plants. The same should be reduced as well.
    I can create an so specific order though CO08, which is not preferred. Is there a way to auto-convert the requirement to another plant?

    Hello Prem,
    Quota arrangement with special procurement type P ('Production in alternative plant')
    As suggested you can use the Quota arrangement  in this case along with special procurement key production in alternative plant
    Production in Alternative Plant - Special Planning Processes - SAP Library
    The customizing for the special procurement SPRO -> Production -> Material Requirements Planning -> Master Data -> Define Special Procurement Type for both required plants.
    For quota arrangement which has a special procurement P - Prod. other plant" defined in MEQ1, you should make sure that the field "procurement plant" is correctly maintained and percentage.
    Quota usage should be 4 in material master. Please test this for PIR consumption BAdi 'MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS' will be helpful

    Hi,
    Does anyone know in which table the main fields that are displayed in MD04 are held?
    I know they are in the structure MDEZ, but I need the associated tables.

  • Inactive version to active version

    Hi Gurus.
    In this scenario I want to convert the PIR's that I am getting from APO in inactive version and I want to convert it into active version before running the MRP.Pls suggest how to do it?

        Mostly you can do planning with different version numbers in planned independent requirent.Unless and until you active the version, it will not transfer the independent reqmt to stock requirement list.
         To active any version number, go to change mode (T.C MD62) and give the material number, plant and version number which you want to activate and press enter, it will go to next screen.There besides material name field there is check box for version.Just tick that.Now if you see in stock reqmt list (T.C MD04) you will see the indep reqmt got transfered.
          Hope this way you will resolve your problem.

  • Extract PIR information

    Hello PP experts,
    We are developping a shortage report which explode any type of demand. Would you know the best way to fetch the planned independent requirements and especialy the uncomsumed portion which is visible in MD04? Is there a function providing this?
    PIR are stored in tables PBIM, PBED and PBHI. Apparently the withdrawal qty would reflect the consumed portion (PBED-ENTMG).
    Your help with this will be greatly appreciated and will speed up our project.

    Consumption mode :2 Backward and forward consumption
    My independent Req is 'VSF  Planning with final assembly'
    My sales order item category is 'Zwac', rety is using ZWAC-M0-KSV 'Sales order with consumption'
    but before i create sales order:

    After that:
    MRP element  Received/Requirement quantity

    but i expected like this:

    Dear,
    If you have planning stategy 40 , then PIR qty will be consumed duirng MRP run if both PIR created with VSF and you have incomming Sales Order qty .Let say you have 100 pc PIR and also 150 pc of sales order , run MRP-MD03 ,  it will create 150 pc Planned order or PR .
    If your using and Sales Order is not getting consumed upon while running MRP , then couple of checks in this case :
    1.Is your PIR (created in MD61) "VSF"?
    The requirement type should be KSV to consume with VSF. Please check OVZI to check why your item category in Sales Order get the requirement type 041.
    Here you must have following set up :
    Requirement Class : 041 , Availablity , Requirement Check box Marked and Allocation Indicator-1 .This Alocation indicator basically Controls the consumption of customer requirements with planned independent requirements whereby the customer requirements type is only allocated one consumption strategy.If it blank that means no consumption with customer requirement .
    Please check If you want req. type 041 to consume with VSF, then you have the change the configuration of planning strategy. Use path Production -> Production Planning -> Demand Management -> Planned Independent Requirements -> Planning Strategy -> Define Strategy.
    2. What is the schedule line category in your SO ??  Is it "CP"? You are using customised item categoery zWAC which may be inharited from WAC-Order /Delivery Requirement (OVZI)

  • Consumption of Independent Requirements

    Hello,
    I had a question regarding consumption of independent requirements.
    In my current client the user has to give Independent Requirements for the semi-finished product i.e. the component(e.g..B). This component is also used as a BOM component in another finished product(e.g. A).  So is there any way the dependent requirement(from finished Product A) can consume the independent requirement of the semi-finished product B?
    Or is there any other work around?
    Any help is highly appreciated.

  • Consumption indicator in transaction MD61

    Hi,
    I would like to know where I can control the setting of the consumption indicator (PBPT-VERKZ) in transaction MD61, Creation of planned independent requirements (the consumption indicator is found in the header of the transaction).
    I want it to be set to 3 (Consume customer reqmts, reserv., dependent reqmts) and I am using planning strategy 40 for my material.
    Anyone knows?

    I have tried to change the consumption indicator to 2 and 3 for requirements class 101, which is the requirements class used by requirements type VSF (for planning strategy 40).
    It does not affect the default value of the consumption indicator in transaction MD61, for some reason. I think these are two separate settings, and the consumption indicator settings in the requirements class is not the same as in transaction MD61.
    Try for yourself and you will be surprised!
