Independent Requirements

I have a list of independent requirements for several different materials and I need to mass change these independent requirements to have the requirement type of "VSE". Is it possible to do a mass change of the requirement type, without deleting the requirement? Can someone please tell me the best approach to doing this.
Thanks,

As I am aware it will only delete the PIR, not the PIR type, which I think you have to do through stg in material master. It is apperaring from stg.in material master.
Once you delte the requirements in MD74, change the stg group in material mster mrp3 and then goto MD61....

  • Planned Independent Requirement Not getting displayed in MD04

    Hi,
I am assigning material to nwa and doing advance procurement by using procurement type PIR. Reservation is getting created after release of activity but the same is not getting displayed in MD04.
The items of the reservation are getting displayed in MB23.
what could be the reason for this?

    Hi,
Planned Independent requirements (PI) are normally configured for consumption by 'Dependent' requirements. Hence the PIR would have been replaced by the reservation from 'dependent' requirement. You can test and verify the same in development system.

  • What is the use of t-code MD74 - Reorganising independant requirements

what is the use of t-code MD74 - Reorganising independant requirements

basically it to delete the unwanted PIR for the last period.
Let us say you planned PIR for 100.
At the end of Period the total salae order were 90, PIR shows 10 excess, this has to be deleted. We can do it manually, but this can be done collectively
pl go through the link below

With the reorganization function, you can delete planned independent requirements for which there are no sales orders in the database. You can delete the planned independent requirements history.
A key date is required to carry out reorganization which is calculated as follows: the system checks whether a reorganizing interval is maintained in Customizing for the plant that you want to reorganize. If an interval is maintained for this plant, the system uses this information to calculate the key date. If no interval is maintained for this plant, the system checks whether intervals are maintained for any other plants, and selects the largest interval to calculate the key date. You can change the key date proposed in the initial screen for reorganization.
You can change the proposed key date when deleting the history. You can set a shorter interval for deleting histories than for deleting the requirements records.

  • Purchasing & Order Tracking for New Independent Requirements

Could anyone tell us how they are currently handling new independent requirements that are not available in the system?
We are looking at a solution for our purchasing organization for engineering demands where a user needs to purchase a part or service which does not exist in SAP. Currently the user is manually procuring the item. We would like to come up with an automated solution so there will be better inventory tracking and reporting.
Part of our problem is that the item does not exist in the material master in SAP hence cannot be purchased through the system. Do we have to insist that all part be loaded into the system, but then this would slow down the up-front buying process thereby affecting engineering design.
Any thoughts/ ideas or best practices would be much appreciated.

    Hello Fred,
You can purchase materials and services without master.
    - by free text entry
    - by select items from OCI enabled supplier catalog

  • Netting independent requirements with strategy "50"

    Hey Gurus,
We are using strategy "50" for our top level materials.  We would like to net the independent demand (VSF requirement) that we have entered in the system but it seems that it is only netting for strategy "40".
Is there a way to use strategy "50" and net the independent requirements placed against those materials?
    Sincerely,
    Nina

We found the answer in the strategy group set up.

  • Creating Planned Independent Requirements for an MRP Area.

    Hi All,
    I am trying to enter Planned Independent Requirements for an MRP Area, with requirement type VSE and I get the following error;
"Only stock requirements are allowed when planning at MRP area level".
I can enter at the Plant level with no problems.
    Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
    Kevin.

The following is the excerpt from SAP [Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/81/470a58ddab11d1b55b0000e82de178/frameset.htm] I think you maintained a planning strategy in the MRP view (for the plant) which doesn't support VSE.
You can delete PIRs from an MRP area by deleting the MRP area number from the Creating Planned Independent Requirements screen and recompiling.
When you define the planning strategies and parameters in the material master, these parameters apply to the whole plant, including all the MRP areas within the plant: You cannot maintain the MRP areas separately.
The integration of the MRP area and the assignment of the MRP area in the sales order is supported only by a user exit in the sales and distribution user exit pool.
Sales orders with MRP areas are created irrespective of the availability check control group in the material master.
Customer order processing of production sales orders with the item category (account assignment Step E Single) is only maintained in the MRP area of the plant.
In Customizing and in the MRP area user exit, make sure that when transferring individual sales orders, only requirements types KE, KEK, KEKS, KET, KELV, KEV, KEVV, VSEF, and VSE are generated.
The following requirements types are valid for the MRP area: KE, KEK, KEKS, KET, KELV, KEV, KEVV, VSEF, and VSE.
You cannot plan with preliminary planning materials in the MRP area.
There is no planning strategy for the material segment of the MRP area.
The planning strategy for the material master segment of the plant is assigned to the material segment of the MRP area.
The consumption mode and the periods of adjustment are derived from the plant in the MRP area of the material master.
Only consumption customer requirements with planned independent requirements are allowed: VSF requirements with KSV and VSFB with KSV.

  • How to associate independent requirements to specific customers in SAP

    Hello Experts,
I have a question about customer independent requirements.
My client has some customers for which they expect more sales. So, they want to enter some specific requirements, start producing  and want to make sure that they are kept reserved for these customers and do not get consumed by the others.
They do not wish to enter fake sales orders into the system until they actually get the order , nor do they wish to go for scheduling agreements, with these customers.
So, I thought of using customer independent requirements and tried transaction code MD81 but in MD81, there was no place to enter a customer no. anywhere. Without mentioning the customer, how do we ensure that the stock produced shall not get used up by other requirements? We are followng a make-to-stock scenario and planning to run MRP and generate planned orders to carry out the production.
Can anyone please suggest as how to handle this requirement in SAP?
    Regards
    Papri

    Hi,
MD81 is for Customer Independent Requirement and this is a specific requirement from customer.
Production execution happens only after receiving the requirement from the customer i.e. MD81 then rest of the process is same only difference is produced stock ( sale order stock ) is delivered only to the particular customer and It can not be delivered to another customer independent requirement.
In your case it is possible to associate with specific customer because your are creating the requirement through MD81.

  • ATP against planned independent requirements

I have set up materials that are linked to planning materials using strategy group 63.  I have tested setting the planning material consumption to a 2 for forwards/backwards and 3 for forward only.  I have set up planned independent requirements by week.
When I book a sales order it gives me a material availability date that is in the week prior to the availability of the material based on planning.  For example I have 100 parts available for week 30 which starts on July 21 yet my sales order shows a material availability date of 7/16 and a goods issue date of 7/18.  How can I ship the goods if they are not available yet.   Any ideas on what could be wrong??
Many thanks for any and all help!!

    Hi YMReddy,
my requirement is that I input PIR for some materials, and want those materials reserved by this PIR, since this PIR are special, can not be used by other requirement.

  • Report showing independent requirements for several materials

    Hi
    Workiing in SAP 4.7
Looking for a report where I can see independent requirements over time,  for several materials, based on a time characteristic such as month/week. So for example I want to see the independent requirements for 10 different materials in a list, with the time characteristic on the horizontal axis.
Is there any such report? I am NOT asking for MD05/MD06/MD61/MD62.
    Thanks in advance,
    Lars

    Check in MD73
if you are using requirement plan then check based on requirement plan else check based on MRP controller by giving period

  • Sales Orders Assigned to Planned Independent Requirements

    Hello everyone
I am trying to write an SQVI query which will show me which sales orders are confirmed against which planned independent requirement; so it will show the same data as MD73.
Is there a table which links the sales order to the PIR?
    Thanks
    Jen

    Dear ,
Find below the table required by you : Go to Se 16
PIR Table : PBIM   ,Here you will find Sales Order Filed : KDAUF
Please Check PBED and PBIC which is also useful .

  • Urgent - Deletion of Planned Independent Requirements

    Hi
I need to delete Planned Independent Requirements (MD62). I tried using the bapi 'BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CHANGE' setting the delete_old parameter to 'X'. However this does not delete the planned independent requirement.
Plz suggest a method for deletion of PIR programatically.
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi,
Have you checked in ECC MD04 tcode. What is the date it is showing there?
If in MD04 date of ind. requirement is showing same as APO then there is no problem it is expected behaviour.
If not Try running CCR to correct inconsistency.

  • Plan independent requirement?

    hi
what is plan independent requirement and what is the link with it sales order.is it made after sales order or before sales order.please explain in detail.also please explain what is the the difference between
    mrp type PD and VB.
                                                                                    regards
                                                                                    sanjay

As the name suggests ,it is independent on sales order or any other orders. It is the input to MRP. If for a material you are creating PIR in MD61 as 100 in 1 month, It means you need 100 qty of that material produced in your plant after one month. It is independent.
Then MRP will give you the procirement proposals like purchase requisitions(if externally procured materials are short of the requirement..i.e for 100 qty) and planned orders(if inhouse materuals are short of the requirement..i.e for 100 qty)...
PIRs are those which are created by you.. you can create them at any time. MRp will take care of making the necesary materials to be available for that requirement...i.e it will prompt us the dates on which the materials have to be available in the plant to meert the requirement...
    PD and VB:
    PDwill work with BOM structures.
Imagine the final material A , and its component B
you need 2 pieces of B to produce 1 piece of A.If you work with PD and you receive for example a sales order for A of 10 pieces , the MRP with PD will determinate that you need 20 pieces of B taken into account the sales order delivery date.
The system will use the BOM to know the quantity that you need. You will not have additional stock for the component B. The system will procure when and how many pieces you need.
IF with the same example you work with VB for component B, then you have to define a reorder point (example 5).
If your stock is bellow that level ,the system will procure to get again the reorder point level. If you have enough stock (example 30) the system will not create any purchase requisiton for B, independent of the sales orders of A , and the reservation of 20 pieces.
When yuo work with expensive components you should use PD , because you don´t have stock without pegged requirements.
if the materials are cheap and you need to have allways some stock , you can define VB as planning type.

  • Uploding MD61 (Planned Independent Requirements) Using BAPI

    Hi,
i am using BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE for uploading the planned independent requirements (MD61).
The flat file structure is like
    Mat. Number...................Week 01 Forecast...................Week 02 Forecast..................Week 03 Forecast.
    2011905..................................907........................................911..........................................916
the problem is  i am  uploading  material no and  week 01 forecast. i am unable to upload remaining quantities for the same material no.
    plz help  me regarding this.

I haven't used the BAPI to change Independent requirements, but there are standard transaction MD74, MD75 and MD76 to reorganize Planned independent requirements by date. These jobs are normally scheduled to run at start of period.

  • Uploading Planned Independent requirements

    Hi Gurus,
Could anybody suggest how to upload planned independent requirements with LSMW? I have tried doing the same with the direct input method but the standard program gives an error and does not run. Is there any way of doing the same?
    Thanks and regards,
    Abhik

LSMW Will not work for PIR use BAPI 'BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE'  for PIR creation.
In SE37 You can check this.
