InDesign 2.0.1 quits on opening
I have recently installed OS 10.6, when opening InDesign 2.0.1 it asked for Rosetta to be installed, which I did, now the program quits on opening.

Some InDesign CS5.5 files won't open until force quit and relaunch application (Mac). It seems that this occurs rarely, but once it does it on a file, it happes every time.

Why does my Mac quit out of InDesign while it's trying to open a file?
My Mac has decided to keep quitting out of InDesign while it's trying to open InDesign files. The problem started today so I updated InDesign CC to the latest version. But no good. It looks like the file is trying to open up there is an issue with the .idlk file.
The Mac is pretty new (12 months old) and my colleagues are on similar macs with no problems with the same files.
Any thoughts?

Here are the error messagesIt's not a signature I recognize, so I can't be definitive, but it appears to be related to text, possibly a bad font or incompatible font manager plugin. Maybe a corrupt style.

InDesign quits by opening library
I opened a CS5 library-file into InDesign CS5.5.
Then InDesign quits.
I started InDesign again, all (old) documents opened as Untiteld.
Than I got an error that InDesign it is not a legal name for the Library.
And InDesign quits again.
I removed the preferences.
I deinstalled InDesign
and installed it again, but I get the same error.
How can I fix this problem?It's not clear if you tried to open the library again, but if you didn't and ID quit after opening the other files, it sounds like some of the recovery data is preventing ID from restarting. I don't know any way to identify which part of the recovery folder content is which file, so you should remove all of it, then add back one at a time if necessary to recover some other file, but if you have recently saved versions I think I'd probably abandon the recovery data entirely.

My Indesign CC crashes every time I open a CS6 file on it!!!
My Indesign CC crashes every time I open a CS6 file on it. I have tried everything, a clean install using the clean tool on my system, saving the CS6 file as an .idml on CS6---but whenever I try to open files on Indesign CC, the program crashes!
I am using a Mac OSX Lion on 2010 Macbook Pro 15in. with 8gb RAM.
My Indesign CC is completely useless without being able to open my CS6 files, please help!

Apps quit when opening PLEASE HELP!!
about two days ago i tried to log onto microsoft messenger but when it was logging in it quit and came up with an error message and asking to send a report to apple. I also tried to log on to msn with aMSN and the same thing happened. then later that day when i open certian safari web pages (it normally happens on myspace) it just quits halfway through opening a page. now when ever i open safari it tries to load the homepage but quits.
and now it seems lots of my programs are quitting randomly. Now it quits when opening iMovie, when i try and run iWeb it says it cant find my web pages i have made and then quits, dashboard widgets dont load and then hang, even the help viewer crashes as soon as i open it. and to top it all off the paim rest area of my macbook is starting to stain.
anyway so far i have verified the macintosh HD and it says its fine. but when i try to verify or repair disk permissions it says there is an error and has to quit. I have also done the hardware test and its all fine.
i have tried putting the install disk 1 that came with the macbook in and booting from it by pressing c. what is supposed to happen because it seems to be booting normaly. it just goes to the regular desktop and when i try to repair the disk with disk utility it wont let me so maybe it hasnt booted from the disk properly
oh and the only thing i have done recently is downloading itunes 7 before i got these problems. and software update says im up to date. i tried uninstalling itunes but it still had those problems
anyway please help me because my 90 days support runs out in 20 days. and i dont like using this windows computer

I am running InDesign CS5.5 and trying to open an In Design File but getting an error message. " Cannot open the file "PDavidLCover.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file me be open in another application."Please help I really need to get this file open.
Since you've shown us the folder contents it's a good bet it isn't in use (no lock file). And it doesn't look like the file is mis-named as there doesn't seem to be anything else there that would be the .indd file (but just in case, open it in TextEdit and paste the first few lines here so we can see what the file header says), so the most likely case is the file is damaged. Is that on a removable device of some sort?

Premiere Pro CC 14 won't quit or open projects
Hi-
Here is my situation. My HD crashed in my iMac last week and it has been replaced by Apple. I've now reinstalled all of my apps. Everything seems to be working fine except for Premiere. I can open Premiere, open a project and it loads fine. If I try to quit or open another project while Premiere is open, it does nothing. Literally nothing.. just sits there like nothing had happened. Even if I can get to the open project window, I'll select the project to open and then it just returns to the current project... with no options to save, cancel, etc. I can still work in the project after this.. no spinning pinwheel or hang up.
I did use a Time Machine backup to get a lot of my files back. I'm not sure if that messed up permissions or what, but I have followed the steps listed by Kevin here to no avail Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later) .
One thing I did try was making a new user account with admin privileges and Premiere seemed to work. The only issue is that many of my other programs don't work because the serial # is associated with my main user account.
Here are the specs of my machine:
iMac 27" late-2012
3.4 GHZ i7
32 GB DD3 RAM
OS X 10.9.5
Any help would be much appreciated since I'm close to a stand still since I can't move from project to project.

I was able to contact Adobe via their online chat. I had a representative do a screen share to figure out what was going on. From what I can tell, he went in and repaired permissions for my Applications folder, updated the CUDA driver and deleted all of the "Adobe" folders in the user profile and the system profile. After that, he re-opened Premiere and everything seems to work now. It must have been some corrupt file in one of the Adobe folders OR a bad permission. Either way, I thought I'd report back. -

It crashed indesign when I was pdf'ing the document and now it crashes indesign every time I try to open it.
It is my only version.
I have tried many ways to open it but nothing has worked - can you help?
I've just realised that now - Indesign crashes when I try and open any document!

NB Someone suggested I send it to Adobe and they may be able to fix it, but I can't find a contact email to send it to.You need to empty the InDesign Recovery folder (which is hidden in your user profile/library). You can find the path to InDesign SavedData in this link: Replace Your Preferences and the recovery folder should be in the same folder with the InDesign SavedData file.
Once the recovery folder is empty you should be able to launch ID, then try opening the file. If it wasn't damaged while writing it back to disk it will be fine, in the last previously saved state. -
I downloaded the iOS7 and I can't force quit the open apps. I was told, "Force-quitting apps is a little different though: Instead of tapping and holding on the icon, you flick a thumbnail up to dismiss it." Unfortunately, that didn't work. Any comments please & thank you
Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. Prior to loading 1OS7 it was easy to force quit applications that were still open by double clicking and seeing an a red "x" you had to click on.
It doesn't work that way with the new operating system and the instructions that were given "Force-quitting apps is a little different though: Instead of tapping and holding on the icon, you flick a thumbnail up to dismiss it."
Do not work.

Quit all open dock applications at once?
Is there a way to quit all open dock applications at once? I find it time-consuming to go in and quit applications I have used in the dock one at a time.
May be I don't understand why they even stay open after I quit what I was doing with them? Is it possible to set it up that way? I find it is not very Mac-like

Press command+tab to show the application switcher. While keeping the command key held down, you can press q on a selected application to quit it. The only one you can't quit is the Finder (as this is the application that shows you your Desktop). -
Indesign CS4 double click the file opens app. but not file
One of our systems that is running Win XP Pro SP3 with InDesign CS4 loaded and file associations fixed, when an INDD file is double clicked the application opens but the file does not. If we open INDD and go to file open and select the file it opens. Just not when double clicked. If I put the file on another system everything is fine. Anyone seen this before.
I'm pretty much at a loss. You might want to make sure that the open action is programed correctly in Windows.
Open Explorer and go to Tools > Folder Options... and scroll to .indd, then click the advanced button and select the Open action. Click Edit, and make sure that the "Application used to perform action" line includes "%1" (in quotes) after the path to InDesign. I believe the "confirm open after download" box should also be checked in the edit screen.
If that's OK, I'm guessing it has to do with SP3. Doe you have SP3 installed on the machine where it works? -

Are you facing issue opening files created on CC2014 on CC version, If yes then you can follow the following article. You have to save the files in IDML format in order to open them in older versions.

If you have CC version installed , you can also try to upgrade to CC2014 version from Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App and open the files without any problem.
