InDesign 2014.2 displays beach ball every few seconds
Hi there, is anyone else having the issue of InDesign being unresponsive every 30s or so? The programm hangs and shows the beach ball for 10s, then it works again. I've turned the preflight off already. Doesn't matter whether I'm editing a book or individual documents, display performance also doesn't seem to matter.
I'm running Mac OS 10.10.3 Public Beta, but I haven't used InDesign in a while so I'm not sure it started with the beta.

MacBook Pro freezes every few seconds
Hi All,
My two year old MacBook Pro started freezing randomly one day. It happens with any application that I have open (Safari, Word, Finder), I get the beach ball every few seconds for any operation I try doing. When the cursor comes back I have seen spikes of CPU usage and the relevant program also shows as 'Not Responding'.
I have tried everything, PRAM/SMC resetting, hardware test, disk repair etc. The latest being a clean install of Mavercks. It was fine for a few hours until it started freezing again like before. I made sure not to install much and didn't even copy my backup over yet. Here is my EtreCheck output, can someone please HELP!!

Beach ball every time iMovie opens
I get the beach ball every time I open iMovie. Have repaired permissions and verified the disk to be OK. I have the latest 9.07 iMovie.

How much free space is there on You STAR-UP (Mac OS) Hard disk ? (others do not count)
Did You try.
• Trashing iMovie pref files (while iMovie is NOT running)
• Repair Preferences
Else
TO GET IT TO WORK SLIGHTLY FASTER
• Minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up hard disk
• No other programs running in BackGround e.g. Energy-Saver
• Don’t let HD spin down or be turned off (in Energy-Save)
• Move hard disks that are not to be used to Trash - To be disconnected/turned off
• Goto Spotlight and set the rest of them under Integrity (not to be scanned)
• Set screen-saver to a folder without any photo - then make an active corner (up right for me) and set pointer to this - turns on screen saver - to show that it has nothing to show
• No File Vault on - Important
• NO - TimeMachine - during iMovie/iDVD work either ! IMPORTANT
• Lot's of icons on DeaskTop/Finder also slows down the Mac noticeably
• Start a new User-Account and log into this and iMovie get's faster too - if a project is in a hurry
• And let Mac run on Mains - not just on battery (if a PowerBook)

Why is my 24-inch LED display flashing black (and sometimes scrambles) every few seconds?
I have recently upgraded to a new iMac: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7. 4 GB 1333 MHz DDr3. AMD Radeon HD 6970M. 1024 MB. Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4. I have it attached to a 24-inch Cinema Display.
Before I switched to my new iMac, it would blink black a couple of times a day. This was going on for a LONG time, but was not a big deal. However, now that I have switched to the new iMac, it is every few seconds. And it has now added the "scrambled" screen to it's repertoire. Fun. And, as I am typing this...it just went black and has not come back on.
I've read a few threads on this happening, but haven't found any substantial evidence as to what is causing this. It's beyond annoying. Has anyone learned anything new?Okay. Murphy's Law. As soon as I posted this, I found an answer (hopefully!). My situation fit the criteria at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4045?viewlocale=en_US and I installed the update and so far, so good. I'll keep you posted.

I'd like to display portions of text which cycles to the next
one every few
seconds.
I've found a perfect example of what I'm after here...

On the top right of the page is an area showing client
testimonials which
changes approx every 5 seconds.
It appears to fade out and then fade in the next. Is that so
or is it just
an optical illusion?
I'd be grateful if anyone could point me in the right

About a week ago my MBP started freezing every few seconds showing the well known spinning beach balls every time, even when running no apps, I've sepnt plenty of time looking for a solution, I've read this problem might be due to a physically damaged hard drive, bt I've tested it several times using different apps and it shows no error, I've read from another discussion about Etrecheck as a useful app to quickly gather certain system information that may help point to a cause of this problem, so I hope some of you guys can help me checking the log output. My browser keeps pausing and giving me the color wheel every few seconds
Whenever I'm using Firefox my browser pauses every few seconds and if I am typing something nothing comes out, or the color wheel comes out (I'm on a Mac), if I'm watching a video it pauses every few seconds... it's sort of maddening. I do have about 20 tabs open at a time, I don't know if that is what causes it. It doesn't seem to happen when I am in Safari.

I would take your machine into a Apple service center. Its highly likely a hardware issue. The most likely issue being the display has failed. If there is no external damage to the machines display they will replace the whole display under warranty for you. -
T500 wireless connects and disconnects every few seconds
The machine has the Intel 5100 adapter in it, and runs W7 x64. There are numerous other devices using wireless in the same house, including two T61ps, which do not have this problem.
The T500 is using the latest Access Connections for W7, and the latest Intel drivers (the machine is 10 days old, and is fully updated using Lenovo System Update and Windows Update. Not much 3rd party software yet due to this and another problem with the T500.)
Every few seconds, the wireless will disconnect, then reconnect immediately. I have tried turning off power management for the wireless adapter, including telling Windows not to power it off for power savings. This occurs running on AC power, haven't tried on battery. (This is irritating enough as it is, but it makes W7's Windows Explorer keep moving things up and down in the display as the network items disappear and reappear.)Hi Graham,
Try increasing the roaming of your wireless card from aggressive to low and power output to maximum in the power management option.

Satellite C series - Programs switching to background every few seconds
When I use any program, every few seconds it will switch/flick to the background so I have to click in it again. It will still be displayed, but it requires me to click in it to continue using it actively. For example, I am not able to type continously - I will type a few words and then will have to click the mouse in the program to continue. Or if I'm watching a video, I can't watch it full screen as it will go out of full screen mode after a few seconds.
Obviously this is very disturbing and means I can't work on the computer as my typing is continuously disrupted.
Any support or advice much appreciated. Thanks :)It is very strange issue. Ive never heard about it.

Skype makes computer stutter every few seconds
Sometimes this happens right away and other times it takes a few minutes but when I'm on a video call and only on a video call skype makes my computer start skipping or stuttering every few seconds. If I get my girlfriend to wave her hand on skype u can see the video pause for a split second every few seconds which also happens to anything I'm doing on the computer anywhere.
I've installed and uninstalled skype but nothing helps.
I have the brand new 2015 Macbook pro with broadwell processor. I've also used skype on the 2014 Macbook pro retina and it does the exact same thing. I never could get it to work right. My girlfriend has an old poopy 2012 macbook pro with no retina and she doesn't seem to have the issue. She has Yosemeti installed just like I do.
My processor runs about 40% usage in activity monitor. As you know 40% is only for one of the cores I assume since it can go way above 100% when check the activity monitor for whatever reason.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Don't want to get rid of a mac b/c of this one issue.I'm having the same problem, and I don't understand what started causing it. I assume it's the last two releases of Skype that I've upgraded to, because I don't remember this occurring on such annoyingly frequent level. I am running Windows 7 home premium x64, 4GB memory, Intel celeron 1.60 GHz.
It's very disappointing to see how with every new version of it, instead of fixing things and making the overall performance better, it seems to become worse. After Skype 6.9, every version has started increasing the resources used, and now thanks to skype, my laptop starts to freeze when I'm in a video call and try to watch a youtube video, or open a website. The CPU jumps to 100%, then drops a little, but it keeps a steady 50-70 % during the call, which is HUGE. And before someone suggests I buy a laptop with a more powerful processor, I'll say that just a few months ago it was working perfectly well, so the solution shouldn't be taxing to MY budget, surely!
I wish there was a chance to downgrade to a previous version, but no, you took that option away too, God forbid someone misses the ad-saturated versions, full of lagging and stuttering, constant freezing of the camera and constant "connecting" message, saying the internet connection is slow, or there is a problem with it, when in fact the Internet connection is perfectly fine and fast. What gives??? -
My macbook isn't charging continuously. It goes between 'charging' to 'not charging' every few seconds. What could be the problem?

Have you checked the connections from the power adapter to the MBP? Note the pins in the power adapter are spring loaded. See if they are free. Are the connections discolored?
Have you checked the battery status? Open System Profiler or System Information and look at this display:

To prevent freezing or lagging/slow response on any BlackBerry, the most important practice you can adopt is to be sure to CLOSE applications when you are finished using them.
If you just hit the red "end call" key to go back to the home screen the application actually stays open and running in the background. If you do this repeatedly you will have lots of apps open and consequently your memory will get used up. Lack of memory is the biggest reason your BlackBerry slows to a crawl or locks up. If you get into the habit of actually using the menu key to close the applications this will at least slow down this memory-clogging process. You still may have to do a battery pull or use the "Quickpull" app once in a while when things get slow.
To check what applications are running on your device in the background, press the Menu key then choose Switch Applications. You will see the icons of each application there.
So now, check your applications running in the background. There are commonly four or five applications that will always be running (Messages, Call Logs/Phone, BlackBerry Messenger, Homescreen, and the Browser; there are other third party applications such as BeeJive, and BlackBerry Alerts which will also run in the background which you cannot close if you want them to operate). Make certain that the browser is NOT on an active webpage (open the browser and choose Menu > Close). Close any other applications that do not need to be running (the camera or a game you were playing or Google Maps).
