InDesign 9.2 install on Mac - how?

On a Mac, OS 10.8.5, I have Creative Cloud installed with InDesign 9.0  I want to install 9.2.  CC continues to tell me that my Apps are up-to-date.  I've gone through the uninstall/reinstall twice but I continue to have InDesign 9.0 after the reinstalls.  Why?  How can I successfully update to 9.2?

Please navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminprefs.dat and rename it. Launch InDesign, go to help and check for updates and let us know whether it worked.

  • Indesign won't install on mac

    Hi there,
I've just purchased a single application membership for creative cloud InDesign.
While the program looks like it's downloaded in the Creative Cloud manager, there is no trace of the program in my applications folder, and I can't open any .indd files on my computer.
    Any assistance is much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • If I clean install my Mac, how will I reinstall Final Cut Studio?

I'm experiencing a blue screen issue with my iMac 10.6 with Snow Leopard.  And I'm resorting to doing a clean install.  I'm thinking this will remove Final Cut Studio and it's applications, making me reinstall them on a fresh computer.
Will there be an issue reinstalling this license on the same computer?  Because I can not go into the computer now to uninstall FCS.  I've been sifting through the forums and Google and haven't found an answer.

    >Will there be an issue reinstalling this license on the same computer?
No. It'll install fine.  There is no way to un-license it from your machine, like Adobe and Avid require, because you don't license it. It's just installed.
Simply reinstall from the original disks and you will be fine.

  • How to convert an ipod with Windows software installed to Mac operation

I have a 20MB ipod which has windows software on it. It is very hard to load songs onto as I can only see the ICON on the desktop and not in itunes and this way they don't seem to properly mount! I have a 12" ibook that I connect it to. I can't seem to follow how one is supposed to wipe the Windows OS (or whatever) off the ipod and install the Mac one ?!?!? Am I trying to do the impossible? A step-by-step answer would be soooooo appreciated.
    12" ibook   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Information on the iPod not appearing in iTunes is available in this article. To reformat the iPod for Mac, open a new Finder window and click the Applications icon in the sidebar; from here, open Utilities and then iPod Software Updater. Locate the most recent version of the iPod updater inside, open it, and click the Restore button with the iPod connected. Doing this will change the iPod into the Mac format and erase everything currently on it.

  • How do I re-install my Mac OSX Server from scratch

    Hi,
I have purchased two MacMini Servers with 10.6 OSX Server software pre-installed.
I have changed the organization as our company name changed and run into license issues.
I want to re-install the Mac OSX Server software and start from scratch. How do I go about this. I tried yesterday for many hours to do so and the new installs are still running into duplicate license issues and other issues. What is the best approach to do re-install? I am willing to erase the internal Hard Disk and boot (with an external DVD optical drive) if that is the best way to go. What are the steps?
I have the original CDs or DVDs and have extra, external hard disks to do a Time Machine backup, etc.
    Thanks,
    Don

If you are looking to do a nuke and pave of the system, and you have an external optical drive, then yes, that is likely the most direct method. Connect the optical drive, insert the installation DVD, and reboot the system targeting the optical disk as the boot volume (you can do this by holding down the C key or the Option key during startup).
Now, if you do not have an optical drive, you can put the installation disk into another Mac running 10.6 and use the Remote Install Mac OS X application in your Utilities folder.
    Hope this helps

  • New to Mac - how to re-install when G4 won't boot from CD

    Hi all
I am completely new to Mac, so bear with me here. I recently bought three G4's from my employer (they took over some old offices of a company that went bust and left all their equipment, which has been lying around for some years now). Wow, for a PC-guy like me it is quite a switch
Anyways, I managed to get one of the running and re-install with new OS (Panther) as I have the original discs.
However, one of them is causing me some problems. It is running OS X Server and has been setup with password - so when I boot up I get prompted to log on and can't get any further. It read a few places that it should be possible to boot from the install discs and then re-set the passwords. I tried holding down C when booting, but the machine won't boot from the CD. Tried holding C before powering on, before the chime, after the chime, when the logo displays, etc. Nothing helps. The key on the keyboard is working (tried it in the user-name box when I get prompted to log on)
I don't care about the conents of the drives - just want to re-install. But how to do that when the C-key isn't working to get it to boot from CD? Guess one of my problems could be that I don't have Mac keyboard and have to plug a Windows-keyboard into it. Also tried pressing the ALT key at boot up, but that does nothing either.
    Help?

It is a server yes. But it doesn't matter though about the lock.
Here's what happened so far which also solved my problem:
    - Moved around on the RAM sticks and then managed to boot into OF
    - Reset security-mode as described in various forums and guides
    - Still couldn't boot from CD - even after resetting PRAM and NVRAM.
    - So I searched the net (sorry to my boss for not doing much work today) and when I came home I was armed with many useful hints to do the dance with the machine.
... but just before we stepped onto the dance floor, I noticed a post-it taped to the side of one of the OTHER machines (I bought three from my employer's storage sale and all three from the same company whose offices they took over). And on that post it was two words one of which was Administrator. It turned out that the other one was the password. Dough. So much ado about nothing. But, at least I learned a lot about the Mac-world along the way.
However, when I pop the CD in I cannot see it when I logged on - faulty device? in "ABout this Mac" is shows the DVD-drive just fine. Is it concivable that someone could have disabled it some way? If so, how do I enable it again?
Thanks everybody for all your patience with me

If you have a Mid 2010 model: Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery. If later then see below:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
If you have an earlier model:
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • Once bootcamp is installed on my Mac, how easy is it to go back and forth from windows to Mac? Just a press of button or do I have to completely log off of one to go to the other?

Once bootcamp is installed on my Mac, how easy is it to go back and forth from windows to Mac? Just a press of button or do I have to completely log off of one to go to the other?

Using vitual machine programs (VirtualBox, Parallels, VMWare Fusion) you can run both at the same time.
Load Windows under BootCamp.  Then load the VM software and select the existing BootCamp partition as the "virtualized space".
But ... BootCamp first, following Csound1's advice about backups.  And you will wantto boost RAM most likely because you need to allocate certain amount of system RAM to each "virtual machine", as well as leaving some for OSX.
    But ... BootCamp first.

  • CS6 Camera Raw - I can now only crop using aspect ratio in the custom crop setting rather than being able to set the dims in cm and inches? anyone know how to revert? ever since installing new mac operating system things have been strange!

CS6 Camera Raw - I can now only crop using aspect ratio in the custom crop setting rather than being able to set the dims in cm and inches? anyone know how to revert? ever since installing new mac operating system things have been strange!

    Hi Kglad.
I have looked at all of my settings both in Bridge and CS6 Photoshop regarding Camera Raw. I am at a loss how to set the crop tool in cm or inches as I once did - now the only option is to crop using ratios of 1:1 etc etc - This is infuriating as lots of my square crops I could set at 10" x 10'' specifically to print one to one to fit frame and mount size -
Now if cropping using bloody aspect ratio of 1:1 (square) the actual dims of the crop are roughly 4.25 inches x 4.25 inches. this means I then have to open the whole image in photoshop in order to crop at the dims I have set! It was so much quicker in terms of batch cropping in camera raw being able to set dims in centimetres and inches but they have gone and mucked around with it, with the new bloody update! Unless you are an absolute genius and know how I can go back to having an option of CM, Inches and aspect ratio within the custom crop settings? (Please say you do)
here is the new tutorial for CC -  my guess is they have scrapped the control we had over the custom crop settings

Is the Adobe CD a MAC app ?
If it is a program for Windows you will not be able to install it.
If you nedd that program you can either buy the equivalent for Mac or install a way to run Windows under Mac (may be a cheaper solution)

  • How to Re-install Individual Mac programs on OS X 10.8.3

What is the process to re-install individual Mac software like Image Capture, DVD Player or the Terminal app, for example. I'm running Mac OS X 10.8.3.
    Thanks.

I meant to use those Mac apps as an example for this discussion.
Basically, any specific Mac app that needs re-installation is the focus.
While some combo updates may include a given app, it's a random chance that the app needed is the one being updated.
While Pacifist used to work when users had an install disc, it's not useful with Apple's current policy of downloading the Mountain Lion OS X directly online. That's really why I'm asking. I don't think Apple has considered that, down the road, people may need to install specific apps, and to reinstall the entire OS, needless to say, is very time consuming. Getting one's customized OS back to the way it was is a huge amount of work, and as a result, users may opt to do without given apps because of this hassle. The real answer is to burn a copy of the OS X Mountain Lion installation process onto a disc so that Pacifist can once again be useful in this regard. I'm not sure how to do that but there may be a way.
