InDesign Adobe Color Themes only displays in Essentials Workplace

I am probably missing something but I can't get Adobe Color Themes to display in anything but the Essentials workplace. Tried with a few eg Advanced plus my own custom workplaces.
Is this (a) a deliberate restriction, (b) a bug, or (c) I have forgotten to perform some ritual or incantation?
I am using Adobe InDesign CC 2014.2 on a Windows 7 64 bit platform.

  • Why do the colours from Adobe Color Theme creation change when I try to use them?

I've been exploring the Adobe Color Theme creator in InDesign. There are the three tabs: Create, Explore, My Themes.  In the create tab I can create a theme of colours, get the combination just right, and then save my new theme.  However as soon as I save any colour out to the swatches, the colour changes! It's driving me nuts.
[Original Colour]  -Colour it comes out as-
    [green turquoise] -prussian blue-
    [strong, bright red] -darkish orange-
    [warm purple] -faded dark mauve-
My best guess was that maybe the colour profile of the document was set to CMYK and that the colour themes work in RGB, but as far as I can determine it's just "North America General Purpose 2" and the Working Spaces include both RGB and CMYK. Therefore I'm stumped. I do not have the expertise to figure out what is going on and these are significant colour changes to have a really strong, vibrant colour palette turn into something much more muted.
And if this piece of information is of any use, my yellow doesn't seem to change at all.
Any ideas please?  I've tried searching for it, but maybe I'm not putting in the right combination of keywords. Hopefully I'm just being obtuse and someone will tell me to put a checkmark in a box somewhere.

There are some slight value changes between the Theme and the Swatches, but we're only talking a change of 1 or 2 and so the colours appear to stay true now. Total pain to have to do this extra little step every time. =)
a huge, glaring, and sloppy problem which really ought to be fixed by Adobe pronto.
You can batch change the color mode of swatches if you select all of the swatches and double click them. Or, you can simply leave the Lab values and let the conversion to the correct CMYK space happen when you export to PDF.
I'm guessing the fix won't be coming soon. The original Kuler app had the same color management problem. It's hard to see how they will fix it and keep Color Themes as a cloud based web app.
When you convert the Lab swatches the CMYK values you get will depend on the document's assigned profile, so if you make two document's with different profiles assigned you'll get different CMYK values when you convert the Lab values. Here is US SWOP vs US SNAP

  • I can't access Adobe Color Themes in Illustrator

    Hi,
I've dowloaded the latest Illustrator from CC and when I click on Windows on the menu bar I don't see Extensions like I see in Photoshop. I can't access the Adobe Color Themes like I can in Photoshop. This same issue applies with InDesign. Do I need to reinstall Illustrator and InDesign?
    Thank you,
    Robert

Kuler was the extension. It is now renamed to Color and not an extension anymore. You can access the Color themes from the Window menu or from the Swatches panel (click the little icon at the bottom of the panel).

  • How can i add Adobe color theme?

It says its suppose to be part of the initial setup, but I can't find it anywhere. Can someone please direct me to how i can download the themes?

To get the Adobe Color Themes panel in InDesign CC 2014, you need to be updated to the October 2014 or February 2015 releases. The current version is 10.2.0.69 if you look under About InDesign.
Once you're updated to the correct version of InDesign, choose Window > Color > Adobe Color Themes. The panel will connect to the Adobe Color website. Click My Themes to look at themes you've saved. Click on Actions > Add to Swatches panel to download the themes to InDesign.

  • How to use downloaded Adobe color theme (.ase) in Photoshop cc?

How to use downloaded Adobe color theme (.ase) in Photoshop cc?

I can confirm this functions but there is no indication it's been successful and the swatches appear in the Swatches panel, *not* in the Libraries panel where I would expect them.  My issue is that IMO this should not even be an issue, because a palette created on color.adobe.com should just show up in PS CC unless I'm not understanding the intended behavior.
    Anyone?

  • Adobe Color Theme Issues in InDesign CC

When I create a custom color theme using cmyk the colors are visually correct at that stage. However, when I go to select it under "My Color Themes" to use it n a document, the colors are "visually" off and do not appear to match the swatches I created. Is anyone else having this problem and is there something I need to do to correct it?

  • Does the Adobe Color Theme have a scroll bar?

I can't view and explore all the themes from the color theme panel in Adobe In design? I only see some of them. When I try to drag down to see other themes I can't. The answer to my question might be simple but I can't seem to find it. Please help.

    Jeremy,
I'm able to scroll fine with my mouse.  There is no scroll bar UI, but the panel is scrollable.  Just like modern web browsers.
Can you tell me more about the problem you are facing?
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Color Themes Panel in PS CC. Does it show all your themes?

For some reason, my Color themes Panel in PS CC2014 does only show a certain amount of colour themes, and it is not resizable any further. There is also no scrolling available. Only half of my themes show up that way. I can bump them to my favourites and when synced again they show up in the favourite section, so they are synced … Anyone out there found a way to access all your themes from within the Panel/MyThemes?
    thx,

  • My Adobe Color Themes are no longer showing up in Photoshop CC?

They were there one day and gone the next.  There is now a message saying I need to sign in to view My Themes but I am already signed in.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension to no avail.  Any suggestions appreciated.

Are you sure you're in full edit? Go up to the Edit tab at the upper right of the PSE screen and click where it says Full, to make sure. If that's not the problem, what is missing?

  • Adobe Color aka Kuler download and viewing issues

Ive been trying to utilize the new adobe color and I'm finding that once I find a palette I like, I try to download it and when I try to view it, the file type is un supported in all of the CC apps I have including photoshop, Illustrator and after effects Does anyone know how to use them once their downloaded or at least how to view them so they can be used?

You don't need to download the ase file from color.adobe.com to view it in photoshop / Illustrator / After Effects / InDesign / Flash.   These products have  "Color Themes" panel  at
Windows > Extensions > Adobe Color Themes
    or
    Windows > Color Themes
Simply  favorite a theme on color.adobe.com and it would show up in this panel.  From here you can use them directly in your designs.
Let me know if that works out for you.

and the user want to compare each other months with Jan's price.
they want to display the exception color when the rise or down rate greater or less than 5%.

    100   105   (105-100)/100=5%  104    (104-100)/100=4%  ....

    Hi,
its simply not supported for BEx Analyzer. Exception reporting on another key figure is only possible for Web Reporting.

  • Spry Menu Text only displays in hover color, doesn't sense browser edge

I have a Spry horizontal menu in a website that is working fairly well in everything except IE6.  Firefox, Safari, and IE7 are all fine.
In IE6, random menu items only display in the blue hover color, so they are invisible until you hover over them.
My second problem is that the menu is right-aligned, and the button on the far right has three submenus.  I would like the second two submenus to automatically open to the left of the first submenu when opening to the right would cause them to be cut off by the edge of the browser window.  How do I do this??
Here is my code (I've customized it with suggestions online, but just can't seem to fix the problem with IE6).

  • Mac OSX 10.5: "Let InDesign Determine Colors" is my only option.

    ID 6.0.3
Trying to print to my Epson R2400 inkjet: I'm getting lousy colors and wasting an immense amount of ink toggling all the various options in trying to get a decent print.
"Color Management" has a "Color Handling" dropdown-control but it's stuck on "Let InDesign Determine Colors". I'm sure I'd get better colors with this printer if IT could manage them. How can I fix this?

    (A) InDesign's print dialog is where one
is supposed to be able to print from. Saving to another app and
printing from there is counterintuitive and a total waste of time.
    (B)
Yet another layer of options and settings to wade through. And print
settings in Acrobat are not, to the best of my knowledge, saved with
    the doc.
    (C) Yet another file to
store, make room for and keep track of. Not surprisingly, the
print-quality pdf I just created is substantially larger than the .indd
    file it originated from.
Im not looking to argue the issue, but instead to maybe shine a different light on this...
    (A) Agreed, you should be able to print straight from ID, but its not a waste of time. Quite the opposite. Exporting to PDF lets you FAR more accurately preflight your documents before print as well as (assuming you export using X1a compliance) flatten them properly. MANY times you will have font issues at print, printing from Indesign will leave you blind to these, as well as flattening issues AND spot color issues resulting from converting them outside of the native applications they were created in.
    (B) Again, that is one way to look at it. I however see it as the Only print dialogue i ever deal with. I export everything to PDF, (AI, Quark, Indesign, photoshop everything) then print. I only need to know that one dialogue. As for print options, i just save them for different types of printing, jsut a few saved profiles will cover most prints.
    (C) Cant argue here. The ID file doesnt inclued all the links so it is MUCH smaller... but also much less portable, compatable etc.
I dont use PDFs to print because i have to, i do it because in my humble opinion, the benefits are just too many to pass up.

  • How to Fix: Color CC Only Syncing Old Saved Kuler Themes to Illustrator, Not Any New Themes I Make/Save?

When I open the Color Themes panel in Illustrator CC (2014.1.0 Release), and click the "refresh" button, it only pulls in the themes I had saved on the web back when it was "Kuler." No new themes that I make (that show up on the web under "My Themes") sync with Illustrator. How do I get the new themes to sync?
(I've already logged in & out, restarted the programs and the computer, to no avail.)
    Help?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I am running OSX (10.9.5), and I just installed the latest security update & restarted. Still, it doesn't seem to resolve my problem, unfortunately.
Within the Color Themes palette, it still has my old themes, but when I refresh, the new ones don't show up, and it doesn't mention any error.
Incidentally, when I open the "Illustrator"/Application menu and scroll to where it lists my Adobe ID email, in the fly-out menu it says it wasn't able to sync my settings because an "Unknown Error Occurred." However, nothing seems to be out of order when I click in to manage the sync settings.
    Thanks,
    Rachel

  • Why do Adobe Color CC and Indesign CC not convert CMYK to RGB the same?

I recently used Adobe Color CC to create a color theme that will be used for both print and web.  I created the theme with approved CMYK values with the intent of saving the .ASE file to be imported into other CC apps.  Corresponding RGB, Hex, Lab and HSB values are automatically created.  Of course, we are using CMYK for print and RGB for web
A coworker had separately created the same exact CMYK theme in InDesign CC, and created RGB values from the same exact CMYK values I had used in Adobe Color.
The InDesign RGB values are quite different from the Adobe Color values.
Anyone know why the values are not the same, and moreover, which CMYK to RGB conversion values may be relied upon for accuracy?
EDIT: I guess the real question should be, What are the color management settings built-in to Adobe Color CC, and can they be duplicated in desktop Adobe CC applications?
    Thanks very much

I found what change it to normal way, but logicaly it's should not be a reason for autoconvert colors. If I choose CMYK and want add CMYK color it should be CMYK (in name minimum) and not RGB.
File->Documents Colors->CMYK(should be, but RGB was)
Right now options open like CMYK, not HSB. But if I want color in RGB it added like CMYK. Options like in CMYK, not HSB, again. Still look like error.
