InDesign can't load sample plug-in

Hy,
I posted the same question on StackOverflow, so this could seem a bit like cross posting, but I didn't know this forums existed, and I think I can't get a more qualified audiece to view my question here, so here I go:
It's my first expirience with Adobe SDK's, I'm using InDesign SDK to create my custom plug-in, but I can't even get the sample plug-ins to load into InDesign. I opened up some projects located in \Adobe InDesign CS6 Plugin SDK\build\win\prj, a couple of them I compiled with visual studio 2013 in x64 build configuration. After building succesfully the project i grabbed the \Adobe InDesign CS6 Plugin SDK\build\win\releasex64\sdk and moved the sdk folder to \Plug-Ins, but when I try to open InDesign I receive an error message telling me that:" InDesign could note laod the plugin, please try and reinstall it". I did but nothing happened. I then build some other projects with microsoft visual studio 2010 (as suggested by the getting started guide provided with the Adobe InDesign CS6 Plugin SDK), building them in release x86 configuration (x64 isn't possible with visual studio 2010) but I get the same exact problem... I have InDesign x64 version installed. Have you got some ideas on what is going on?

The InDesign Application and SDK versions must match, e.g. you can't use the CS6 (Version 8) SDK for CC (Version 9) or CC.2014 (Version 10).
AFAIK InDesign CS6 Desktop was 32 bit only (not sure, haven't had to support Windows since CS5).
If that's your problem, the CC SDKs are not available for public download, you have to knock some doors at Adobe.
Don't expect too fast response even after the holidays. Where can download Indesign CC SDK.

  • I can't load up Plug Ins

I just downloaded a list of plugins from CycoreFXHD 1.7.... I have a list of plugins in a folder, but whenever I try to open them up in Adobe After Effects CS4... it says "Name of effect".plugin is an unknown file type?
Sorry, I'm completely new at Adobe After Effects

See this page for information on installing and loading plug-ins.
What, exactly, are you doing when you get this error message? (I suspect that you're trying to import them as if they're source footage.)
Are you sure that you got the right versions of the plug-ins for CS4? The 64-bit version only works with CS5, and the 32-bit version only works with CS4.
It seems a little odd that you'd be loading these plug-ins as one of the first things that you'd do if new to After Effects.

  • Can't load TWAIN plug ion on CS5 photoshop

I have a new Mac Pro OS 10.10 and loaded Photoshop CS5. I went to use my Epson Scanner and the TWAIN didn't show up. I downloaded TWAIN from Epson and it went fine. Opened PS and still no TWAIN. Tried to do the PS Update and it fails to finish, comes up with an error, (didn't write it down)
Any help or direction would be appreciated,
I really thought with a new machine and an upgraded PS this would be easy. Guess I was wrong.

unfortunately Twain hasn't been supported in PS since either PS CS 3 or 4. Since I bought a new computer a couple of months ago I decided not to load some of my old PS versions, I'm only running CS6, CC and CC2014 I can't check for you which was the exact version. Just know that CS5 definitely doesn't support Twain.
WHen I scan now, I scan into Silverfast, then open the file into PS, lot less aggravation for me. Not what you're looking for but....

  • Importing/loading samples into Ultrabeat

My plug-in reference seems to be unaccurate or either I do not fully understand this procedure...How is this done exactly?..Also, what type of file is compatible with Ultrabeat?
    Thanks
    Mr.P
    ibook G4 1.2Ghz 1.2GRAM   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Each voice in Ultrabeat consists of (up to) 2 oscillators and a noise source.
Select whatever voice location you want to load a sample into, turn off oscillator 1 and the noise, and on oscillator 2 select "Sample" which turns that oscillator into a sample playback oscillator. Then use the load button in oscillator 2 to load in whatever sample you want to playback.
If you want to create your own kits, it makes sense to have a default kit to start from, in which all voices are set to sample playback with sensible default values (such as pitch = 0 etc), so you can just load samples into each voice and save the kit under a new name when you are done.

  • Photoshop CS4 for Mac What can cause the error: Plug-in failed to load - NO VERSION

With Photoshop CS4 for Mac I install the Kodak Plug-in DIGITAL GEM Airbrush Professional v2.1.0. When Photoshop starts I get an error:
    Plug-ins that failed to load:
DIGITAL GEM Airbrush Professional v2.1.0 NO VERSION -  - from the file “DigitalAIRProv2.plugin”Flash:
       Connections
       Kuler
This plug-in works fine on my Mac Pro with Photoshop CS4 and OS 10.6 but fails on a new Macbook Air.
Reinstalling the plug-in did not make any difference. What can cause this error?

Thanks Chris, That was my first thought too but this same plug-in works on another installation of CS4. This is a Mac installation and the plug-in is Universal so it should work. Is there any other possible cause for this error? Would Photoshop refuse to load a plug-in in a low memory situation?
Also, The Flash extensions:Connections and Kuler are working OK, I just copied a little more out of the System Info report than I needed to.

  • Newly created InDesign 5.5 file missing plug-ins, can't open now

How can I open an InDesign 5.5 file that says it's missing plug ins and won't open, when I just opened and created the file last week?

When I try to open a CS6 file in CS5.5, I get the error message:
The way to generate this other message:
is to try to open something that InDesign can't open. This is sometimes an InDesign file that is corrupt. Once I found poorly configured backup software keeping files open. In other cases I've had clients hand off files that were supposed to be InDesign files but turned out to be renamed zipfiles or PDF files or Word files (all of which fall under the "may not support the file format" statement above). You've already ruled out it being open elsewhere by searching for .idlk files, and you've ruled out plugin issues already (by not having a CS6 file generate the new "because it was saved with a newer version" message, and chances that you've installed some kind of plugin that ), so it almost has to be a file that is broken or misnamed in some way.

  • InDesign can load a standalone PS outline font when font managers cannot?

    Hello:
Just curious if anyone can confirm that InDesign will successfully load a Postscript outline font if located in the file relative 'Document fonts' directory or if loaded in the InDesign*.app/Fonts directory.
I am used to seeing PS fonts work only when screen fonts are correctly paired with the printer font and did not realize InDesign has this ability. It is essentially making it's own screen version of the printer font on the fly.
I've run into this scenario now a number of times when client files are supplied for output.
If we try to use a font utility, the fonts won't load correctly, but if we put the PS outline in the InDesign/Fonts folder the app sees it and does not report it as missing.

    Screen fonts? Printer fonts?
I feel like I just stepped back in time about 20 years.
Type 1 fonts (or as you refer to them Postscript) fonts should work just
fine if properly installed in the system or if found in the other
folders you mentioned. This is no different than if you were referring
    to TrueType or OpenType fonts.
What "font utility" are you referring to and what operating system and
version of InDesign are you using?

  • How can I load an applet using Java Plug-in?

I have written an applet and have tested with appletviewer, but I can't load it from a browser. Ghlin told me that I need to use Java Plug-in to load it. Please tell me how.

Click on the Products and API link at the top left of this page. Download the Java Plugin. Be sure to get the developers version. Inside that developer's version there is a tool called HTMLConverter. Run HTMLConverter on your HTML and it will modify the applet tag in such a way that if the user already has the Java Plugin then it will use it. IF not, then the user will be asked if he wants to download it.

  • Can't load EXS24 Samples

    Hi,
After wiping my drive I reinstalled Logic 7.1 (Install Disk and Content Disc). Since then I haven't been able to load my EXS24 instruments while in Logic. All the sample files show up in my project manager and in the finder (the default location: LIbrary/Application Support/Sampler Instruments) but whenever I try to load, say "Yamaha Grand Piano" in the EXS24 it tells me it can't find it. Any advice? Thanks so much!
    j

When you say you are loading a sample, I presume you are not trying to load a sample using the EXS24?
If you are, you should read the EXS24 manual, because that is not how it works - the EXS24 directly loads "sampler instrument" files only, and it's those that contain references to all the sample files.
So you open the EXS editor, create a new instrument, load your samples into that, save it, and then select your instrument in the EXS24. Long-winded, but that's how it works.
Or did you mean something else?

  • No tool bar in Indesign - can you reinstall plugins? How?

    Hi
Recently downloaded the latest updates from Indesign - all EXE and ink files in my computer were taken over by Extension Manager. While getting a techo to fix this - I noticed he deleted a few plugins in Extension Manager, at least I think that's what he did.
Computer now fine, but when re-opening Indesign.
    1. No toolbox on left sidebar - tried TAB got nothing.
    2. Menu along the top only appears if you click on a text box in previous document
Obviously no toolbar - can't put any text box or images box etc into new document.
When opening Indesign this is what I get.
eg? Can't load Dynamic documentswi.apln  transform panel
Install Transform Panel Plug-in, restart Indesign
Also for Graphic Panel, Output miscui.apln requires Swatches plug-in and a few others object style, transparency ui, text colour panel, text wrao, layout adjustment the list goes on.
And never did get that new update - overlay creator uploaded and working - stalls says it can't open after zip file loads.
A/ Do I need to just reinstall the plug-ins they are asking for - how would I do this? Any help appreciated.
B/ How do I get the new upgrade working if I can't run the zip file?
    Thanks

Think I'm out of my depth in terms of ability to follow your instructions and experiment. InDesign plugin disabled makes sense - but where to find how to fix it based on your thoughts above, you've lost me!!
Sorry. In one of the myriad of directories, that file may exist. If it does, you may safely remove it -- then InDesign will use all installed plugin files. (If removing files makes you nervous, as it should, then you can just move it to the Desktop or some other temporary location or name so you could always put it back.)
As for Extension Manager I ran it and while everything listed against InDesign is ticked, some are greyed out but they are ticked - (Aside: I can't see any point in this program - I open it and have no idea what's it's supposed or not supposed to do. Other than uninstall stuff. Don't get it's usefulness.)
I think it's not quite fully baked but that they're planning to improve the situation in the future. Think of it as a work-in-progress.
Pretty frustrating this end - have no idea what to do next. Guess whilst I can look for the plugin's txt file - wouldn't know what to do if I did or did not find them!
Yes, do that. Find it and remove it.
What would you suggest? Buy another Indesign? Don't really want to do that -
    It also won't help.
Another computer would work. Oh, you might also try another user account on the same computer.
The preference files I'm thinking of should be per-user (I think).
Alternatively I can "open" txt and image boxes in Indesign by placing a photo or copying some txt from word - then delete both but the boxes remain:) Awesome Adobe 2011:)
Gotta say, I don't think this one is quite Adobe's fault. I suppose they gave you (or your technician) enough rope to hang yourself, but it's not like you should expect the program to work if you randomly go in break off a few pieces on the inside and toss them in the trash...

  • Feature Request: Ultrabeat: Load Sample auto copy file name to Drum Voice

Feature Request: Ultrabeat: Load Sample auto copy file name to Drum Voice
I wish that when I load a sample into a drum voice, that it would automatically copy the name of the sound file I'm importing to the drum voice minus the extension. If I were importing BD01.wav I'd like for the drum voice to display BD01. As it is, I have to import the file, then name or rename the drum voice to BD01. When importing large quntities, this becomes a giant pain, and I'm looking for anything programmatic that could save me a load of time. When I think of all the time I'm going to waste...and if you multiply that by all the number of users...that's a lot of wasted time.
I wish of course that the program could suck up and autoload all of the sound files within a directory, names too, until the voices were full. Then I could just fine tune and kick out ones I don't want or want in different order. Not a big deal for users who are importing from all kinds of different sources, but say for impoting libraries like NI's Battery, it's a big deal.
Maybe these could be choices in the load sample menu.

Microsoft pulled the plug on DirectSound HAL in Vista due to lack of hardware support. The SAL exists for
software compatibility, good intention but bad performance as there is no longer a direct path from
    DirectSound to audio drivers.
People choose DirectSound for its Direct-ness
but there is no reason to choose it now.
    DirectX SDK was integrated
with WIndows SDK which ships with Visual Studio 2012 so you don't need additional downloads for
    WASAPI and XAudio 2.
Just look up the documentation for headers/librarieslike every other Windows API you use. If you have a hard time to find the documentation then you need to go to search engines and find search engine tutorials.
There are plenty of samples for both WASAPI and XAudio 2, both in the Windows SDK and online. The DirectX team has some suggestions on which to use on their team blog.
You can find experts for those APIs at the Windows Desktop Pro-Audio Application Development forum and the
Audio/XACT forum on MSDN (link left out for you to practice your search skills). Again, it is fine to ask for hints but don't ask the whole
solution. You are competing with others who just need a hint to finish work here. The time spent on working on your assignment would be better spent on helping on giving hints to others.

  • Cannot load quicktime plug-in

On a MacBookPro OSX 10.8.2 using the Chrome Browser I keep getting "Cannot Load Quicktime Plug-in 7.7.1".
I searched the internet and all I get are posts of people havving the same problem.
Anyone know the solution, or a hint to searh in the right direction?
    Thanks

    Update:
I Stumbled upon a solution/workaround. Possibly a quick and dirty one, but it looks like a solution:
In the "\Library\Internet Plug-Ins" folder I discovered the file: "QuickTime Plugin.plugin".
I renamed it to "save QuickTime Plugin.plugin" to disable it and restarted the browser.
I hoped it triggered something to renew the file to solve the problem.
A new file didn't appear, though.
On the other hand: I could view a sample video someone posted to illustrate his same problem, and I have not seen the "Cannot Load Quicktime Plug-in 7.7.1" message anymore!
Can anyone with the same problem confirm this is a solution?

  • I am running 10.5.8, and just updated my java to java 5 update10. Now my firefox is missing the Java plugin, and I can't load any Java applet at all. When I try it with Safari, it hangs when certain Java applet loads. HELP!!!

Suddenly my Java plugin is missing and i can't load any Java with Firefox at all, even though i have it enabled in the browser! i've tried loading in java embedding plugin, but it doesn't work. what should i do???

It's not in Tools> Add-ons >plugins?  Should be Java Plug-in 2 for NPAPI browsers 13.5.0. What are you seeing there? I don't think it's called the embedding plugin any longer.
Might try getting the Firefox 5 standalone application. Trash the current one and replace it. Doing this won't affect your Profile or any settings.
    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
If it's enabled, how can it be missing?
If this doesn't work, ask here. No need to register. Make sure you put (Mac) in the title.
