Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro crashes at start up: Runtime Error-please help

I have Adobe CS4 installed on my Windows 7 PC. In addition, I have Adobe Reader XI and InDesign 6 installed. If I remember correctly, after I installed Adobe Reader XI, I uninstalled the version of the Reader which came with CS4.
So here’s my problem: When I try to download a PDF that has been sent to me in an email or open one that already exists on my computer, this happens:
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C…
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
When I click OK, I get this:
Adobe Acrobat 9.0 has stopped working.
If I try to Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro from my start menu, the same thing happens.
This makes no sense to me because
I don’t have the knowledge to figure this out. I have no idea what Runtime is.
Prior to a computer meltdown a couple of months ago and a complete reinstallation of everything, these very same programs all worked just fine.
I don’t understand why, when I try to open an emailed PDF, they don’t automatically open in Adobe Reader XI rather than Adobe Acrobat. Isn’t the general idea that people be able to open and view sent PDFs which they have been sent, which is what the Reader is for, and not usually edit them, which is what Adobe Acrobat is for?
If, instead of trying to open the emailed PDFs, I save them to my computer, I can launch Adobe Reader XI and open them from within that program without any problem. That’s OK if I just need to view the PDF, but I need to be able to edit PDFs too, so I must get Adobe Acrobat 9.0 to work.
Would reinstalling Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro help? Is there a way to reinstall that program only from the installation disks or would have to reinstall CS4 entirely?
I cannot open Adobe Acrobat 9.0 at all, so any solutions which must be done with the program open are not possible.
I would really appreciate some help.

    SOLVED!
Resetting Internet Explorer didn't work, Reinstalling Acrobat 9.0 Pro didn't work, but changing a registry key did.
Here's where I found the solution:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error opening PDF files - Microsoft Community
Here is the relevant post, but before you try it, read my note below:
    Hi,
This is known issue with Acrobat for several versions now, Adobe's current fix is just to update their software: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404597.html
The problem is with the application data being misdirected.
"The affected user has a redirected Application Data folder and as a result the network path containing the Application Data uses a UNC path that begins with \\. This UNC path causes Acrobat 9.0 or Adobe Reader 9.0 to incorrectly parse the Application Data path and give the error message."
A potential Solution would be to go into the registry. Left Click type "regedit" and right click and run the program with "run as administrator". Go to Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders and make sure see where "AppData" is pointing. If it is pointing to "%UserProfile%/Application Data" change it to point to "%UserProfile%/AppData/Roaming".
BUT, be careful about one thing: This poster seems to have accidentally used forward slashes when he should have use back slashes. Look at the very last line of his post where he advises "If it is pointing to "%UserProfile%/Application Data" change it to point to "%UserProfile%/AppData/Roaming". You'll find, or at least I did, that this key has a back slash, not a forward slash, so changing what I found: "%UserProfile%\Application Data" to "%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming" worked and now Acrobat 9.0 works fine.

  • Adobe Audition won't start C++ runtime error

Hi, I downloaded and used the trial version fine for the full trial time. Decided to purchase this weekend. It's not a cheap piece of software, so I'm hoping for some decent support here.
I managed to run the full unlocked version a few times without problems. I haven't installed anything else since it last ran. I did notice that it seemed slightly sluggish today.... then when I tried starting it later:-
    Bang!
    "Runtime Error" Program C:\Progra...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applicaton's support team for more information"
I tried a complete uninstall, restart, reinstall... same error. I'm not finding anything relevant in this or other support forms. The error message isn't tellin gme too much either.
    Help please!

OK, I worked it out. I just renamed the whole settings directory here:-
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\
and it lets me back in... don't what I've lost but at least I'm in phew.
    Thanks for he help... cough.

  • Encore DVD CS3 Start Message "Runtime Error!"

I installed the Production Premium Suite CS3 with Encore DVD on Windows XP SP2. Dell Dimension 9200 Intel Core 2 DUO
at the startscreen of Encore DVD, i got the Runtime Error! Message.
    Solution:
In my case, the "virtual Daemon Manager" also "Daemon Tool" was the problem.
I had mounted an iso file, after dismounting the file and close the tool resolved the problem.
    Encore DVD is working now!
    Juergen

As the first person in the World to have installation issues originally with Encore 1.5 upgrade (for which the well-known Joe Bowden had to get Adobe tech support to write a special bit of code to brute-force some Encore components to register), I was hoping I would not have any issues with their newest tools.
But I too had a problem with running Encore CS3 - the dreaded Runtime error which has been reported here.
I am running a Dual dual-core Xeon machine with 8GB RAM, Quadro FX 5500, in Windows XP Pro x64.
My colleague had got Encore running on his machine without any problems, so it was annoying to find I had this issue.
We have the same systems, with same software. The only difference is that I have some SCSI hard drives, a SCSI DLT drive, and SCSI CD-RW on top of the DVD writer.
After patching Encore CS3 and trying some techniques listed elsewhere on these forums to make the software work, in the end I had to go to my Control Panel, and disable the SCSI CD-RW drive.
As soon as this was done (a silly but not terrible workaround), Encore CS3 would happily load, and sees both my DVD writer and DLT drive just fine.
Just thought I'd let people know what worked for me....
    Good luck!

  • Cant start EM - 404 error - this problem is gone, but I have a new problem

I installed Oracle XE, weblogic server, SOA, did all configuration by following Oracle's doc. When creating domain, selected:
    oracle soa suite,
    oracle enterprise manager,
oracle business activity monitoring, oracle service bus.
The weblogic console started fine. However I cannot start EM (http://localhost:7001/em). Always got 404 error.
I had the above problem yesterday, today the EM works fine :) However, the SOA node is missing on the left pane. I only seethe following 3 nodes under farm_base_domain:
    1. Application deployments
    2. Weblogic Domain
    3. Meta data repository
On the Oracle SOA suite 11g tutorial, there should be one more node: SOA
How could I get the SOA node back?

I wish I could help, I just went through the same thing. The only thing I was able to do was sync it with itoons and it re-downloaded all the apps that we're on itoons... If the games are anything like most of mine I was able to "teather" them and then All I had to do was go back to the game and from the start it asked if I already had an account and it had me certify who I was and I got all my stuff back... Hope that helps... Probably not tho... The upgrade from 3GS to 4s is painfull and time consuming!

The solution to this problem in general, for any Windows service, is specifying a working service account / credentials that the service will use. So something like:
    1. Go to Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Double-click the service and click the Log On tab.
    3. Select This account and type the username and password used to login, e.g Administrator or whatever local service account you created for your GroupWise agents.
    4. Click Apply > OK.
    5. Restart the service.
Also, when in the Lon On Tab, ensure that the authentication type is set to the appropriate value ( Local System ) and that the account you specify does not have the "Deny log on as a service" checkbox applied via policy on the account or groups it belongs to.

thanks for the help on that one. i have one problem (well two!) anyways, when i start that service its telling me at started and then stopped. also its telling me that it dose not have any work to do.
is this normal? second problem i get a blank page instead of the login page on webaccess. dose this have anything to do with the first problem? i just want a solution to all of these problems!

  • ABAP runtime error for 0CRM_OPPT_H and I while running RSA3

    hello Gurus,
I'm having problems while running RSA3 transaction for these data sources.
    0CRM_OPPT_H
    0CRM_OPPT_I
    0CRM_SALES_ACT_1
    0CRM_SALES_ACT_I.
I'm getting ABAP runtime error for these.
    This is the error:
    Runtime Error          CALL_FUNCTION_CONFLICT_TAB_TYP
    Exception              CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE
I tried finding OSS notes for these, but I didn’t succeed.
I activated the data source from RSA5, and then I tried RSA3. That time I got “Errors occurred during extraction”.
After that I activated delta at BWA5, then I started getting runtime error.
Even though I activated at BWA5, I am not able to see the data sources at BWA7.
Am I missing any thing…please guide me through this….
    Thanks

Thanks for your replay... All the DS and related tables are active..
But wen I tried to re-generate the DS again... this is the warning I'm getting... Any idea why I'm getting this....
The even-numbered length of the DEC field SAMPLE_QTY_ALLOW can lead to problems
    <b>Message no. R8569</b>
    <b>Diagnosis</b>
You want to use the field SAMPLE_QTY_ALLOW in the extract structure for DataSource 0CRM_OPPT_I. This field has a field of type 'DEC' (or 'CURR' or 'QUAN') with an even number of characters.
This can create problems since the length resulting from calculations in ABAP (for example, in extractors or Customer Exits for extraction) is too large to be inserted in the database later (PSA in BW), causing a short dump.
    <b>Procedure</b>
This warning is only relevant when the maximum length of this field is exceeded during extraction, for example when the field is expanded in the Customer Exit through a calculation.
More information and a remedy can be found in SAP Note 641744.
When I search the OSS note, SAP suggesting to apply 883310 note.
In my company we are using CRM 4.0 servie pak8. SAP suggsting to install service pak 11, but my client is not interested to upgrade to 11 as CRM people are working on service pak 8.
By any chance we can use specific note which change the ABAP code to solve this problem... Please give me some suggetions...
    Thanks

  • InDesign CS5 Runtime Error

I've seen a ton of these discussions around here but none of them seem to help my specific problem so hopefully somebody can help me out.
We just bought InDesign CS5 at my job, I'm the lead graphics coordinator, and I'm getting runtime errors every time I try to start it up. Start up seems fine until it gets to "Starting up Service Registry." Once it gets there I get the error "Runtime Error! Program C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS5\InDesign.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way..."
    Here is the error signature:
    AppName: indesign.exe     AppVer: 7.0.3.535     ModName: msvcr90.dll
    ModVer: 9.0.30729.4148     Offset: 0005bea4
I have Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5 installed on this machine as well and have had no problems with them at all. I'm on Windows XP SP3, and I made sure InDesign was up to date as well. I really hope somebody can help me out because I have a $1/hour raise relying on this program! If you need any other information let me know, thanks.

    Hi Chris,
I'm having a very similar problem to you.  Exactly the same error message and the same faulting module [msvcr90.dll] (the other websites about this type of error seem to be related to other modules).  Did you find a resolution for the problem?  Did the clean wipe and reinstall method work?
    Thanks,

  • InDesign Runtime Error - Urgent

Can someone please help?  I just downloaded a trial of CS4 and am using InDesign (in hopes of making a purchase), and there is a RunTime error every time I try to open InDesign and it shuts down.  If it's going to be this difficult to edit a document, it may be easier just to recreate it then try to work with InDesign.  Please help as I have a few days left on my trial that I am testing for my organization, and at this rate, we certainly won't be purchasing CS4.
    Thanks.

Without more information it's really hard to know what to suggest. Turn off Live Preflight to start.
Also try making a new user and see if the program works in the new user.
But there probably isn't a lot of point in trying to fix a CS4 demo -- you'll be hard pressed to find legitiamte CS4 licenses now that CS5 is the current version. Is there a reson you aren't using the CS5 trial?
Some more info on the machine and OS might help, too.
I'm about to hit the road for a while, so I may not get back to you for a bit...

  • Microsoft visual C++ runtime error in InDesign

I made an index in InDesign CS4.
Since doing so, my computer crashes regalary and on unexpected moments while working in this index.
It says: Microsoft visual C++ runtime library. This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.
I tried another document with the same result. I still did the job, by regulary saving and starting again, but I would really like to have this problem solved.
Who has the same problem? Can anybody help me?
I use Windows Vista. This week I got the service pack 2, but the problem still exists.

Thank you very much for trying to help me, I really appreciate this!
But please look at my second message, I wrote:
"And I unabled the automatical preflight in InDesign"
    This doesn't solve the problem.
I went to the office yesterday, where I have another copy of InDesignCS4 (Creative Suite) installed under Windows XP (I use Vista) and I had exactly the same problem. I can open the file, but it works very slow and crashes after some time. I can make it crash immediatly by right clicking and adding a word to the user dictionary.
I have two files with large indexes and tried both of them. The file with the smallest index of the two takes more time to crash, I am able to do some things before it slows down and give me the C++ runtime error.
Again: all my other files without indexes work without any problem.
I tried everything you sent me, but nothing works.
I really believe that the problem is that in InDesign I cannot make a large index.
And I still would like to know if other users tried to make large indexes and if they have the same experience.
    Thank you very much!

  • Runtime error in starting Lightroom

I receive the following message when I try to start Lightroom:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program:...Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.2\lightroom.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Lightroom ran well for several days and then failed to open with the above message.
I have tried everything I know to do (uninstalled and reinstalled the application, restored the computer to a restore point before Lightroom was originally installed, etc.) and do not know were to go from here. Suggestions would be appreciated.
I am using Windows XP sp2 and have 4 GB of ram and 250 GB of hard disk space.
    Thanks,
    Cliff Culp
