Indesign carga en forma permanente en determinados archivos

Estimados:
Trabajo en una editorial de una revista muy conocida y trabajan en MAC con el Indesign CS5.5.
Cuando se abre un documento lo cual son varias paginas con textos, e imagenes, el cursor en forma aleatoria, inicia una carga permanente, provocando que al escribir, se repita una letra mas de una vez, y a veces llega a 4 veces un carácter de repetición sin haber tecleado esa cantidad de veces.
Los archivos tienen Links a Imagenes, pero estos aparecen rotos.
El problema sucede en una unica MAC, ya que se probó en otra MAC y funciona en forma normal.
Se realizó la prueba con otros archivos con la misma carga de imagenes, y funciona normal, pudiendo escribir sin problemas.
Tambien se probó de abrir un archivo en blanco y escribir en él, funcionando en forma normal.
Vuelvo a comentar que el problema es aleatorio, ya que de un momento a otro deja de pasar, y al ratito vuelve.

lo primero que probaría es tirar las preferencias de tu indesign, esto se hace apretando shift+control+option+command y abriendo el programa desde el dock, te va a preguntar si querés tirar las preferencias y respondele que sí.
si esto no funciona y como dijiste que el save as funcionaba, se puede hacer una limpieza del archivo aún más drástica que es salvarlo como para cs4 (.inx o .idml). no me acuerdo si en cs 5.5 era con save as o con export, pero buscá alguna de esas extensiones. y después volverlo a abrir
otra podría ser que el sistema de esa mac sea diferente al de las otras, podrías mandarnos una breve especificación de la mac donde sí anda y la mac donde no? (sistema operativo, memoria, velocidad del procesador, una captura del "about this mac" sería suficiente)

I wish that soon InDesign CS6 Interactive Form Fields will include the COMB field for entering data in various formats such as phone numbers, credit card numbers, using some sort of format like [number of characters] ["(nnn) nnn-nnnn"]. I use comb fields a lot. Likely others do too. I realize that we are at v1.0 in the InDesign Interactive fields, so I hope that the developers will consider this for the next release!
I long for the power that Acrobat fields have to be implimented in InDesign.

InDesign CS6 & CC - form field PDF output very erratic, unusable, disappointing ...failure.

Until very recently, my workflow has been to add the form fields in Acrobat. However due to problems getting form fields to tag properly in this workflow the client has requested that the form fields be added in InDesign which on one page or very simple tests forms appeared to work fine. Based on successful tests with single page test documents we embarked on a much larger job with a very false sense of confidence
I've just spent several days adding complex form fields to a 26 page form in multiple languages which includes text fields, check boxes and combo boxes. When output as an interactive PDF, several of the text fields and combo boxes do not highlight as form fields, but when clicked on repeatedly sometimes behave as check boxes, not as text input fields and sometimes highlight as a field when moused over, but are otherwise inert. I have tried using both text frames and images frames to create the text fields from indesign with similar results.
Check boxes sometimes work, in other cases, give an "on" value rather than a check mark which disappears when you click on another check box or move your curser off the check box.

I've spent several days now, reinstalling software, downloading the CC trial version to see if a later version would give better results, Outpting single pages, smaller page batches but nothing I have tried has improved this problem. The results are basically unusable, which is a major disappointment because it means that InDesign is incapable of performing a task it is advertised as being capable of. I am about to begin the tedious task of rebuilding this form in acrobat, but hope that someone from adobe will be willing to weigh in on this subject. If needed I can provide both the source files and the disappointing results.

Thanks for sounding in. Yes, up until now I have been doing the layout in InDesign and adding form fields in Acrobat. But there are two major flaws with this workflow;
1. there is no way to properly tag form fields in acrobat as the accessibility tool "Add form fields to tags" does not appear to do anything in the way of adding tags, so in the age of accessibility these forms are basically unusable to a person using a blind reader
2. when the client makes edits (which they always do), you have a big workflow downstream, at the very least you have to go through and cut and paste from the old PDF to the new PDF
Besides which Adobe has boldly made the claim that, as of CS6, the form fields can be set-up in InDesign...

Indesign to PDF form

I'm trying to get a form from ID to PDF then create a form. The issue I'm having is getting a multi line field to be recognized. I've attached a sample here.

With "manually", Bob meant you cannot do it in InDesign (which must make it as good as 'manual', in his opinion ).
Using Acrobat Pro, all you have to do is open the PDF and start the Forms Wizard. It's the top item under the Forms menu. You'll be amazed at how well it does:
All I did was start the wizard and hit "OK"!

InDesign | Mystery/unwanted form function appearing in exported Interactive PDF

I am working on a project for a client that is a large interactive PDF with navigation, built in InDesign.
On a recent version, exported PDFs on opening say "This document has form data that must be filled out" even though we have built no form function into the IDD document. When I click to "highlight fields" in the PDF, and scan all the pages, nothing is highlighted.
Does anyone know what is happening and how I might be able to track down and correct the issue?

For anyone arriving here with a similar problem, the solution is to export the Interactive PDF from InDesign with password security to restrict all changes on the exported PDF. This will eliminate the 'forms' message from appearing when opening the PDF.

InDesign Buttons and Forms... Not Working

I'm using Adobe InDesogn CC 10.1.0.70 x64 Build, the problem is with the check box option from Buttons and Forms, They are, simply, not working... I'm trying to add a check box on my pdf I'm creating in InDesign.. I'm using checkbox from "Sample Buttons and forms".. but nothing is working.. I'm just dragging the Check Box samp and drop it in my canvas, exporting it as PDF with "Hyperlinks" checked.. and Interactive Elemnts with Include Appearance chosen but the check box doesn't having any action!! I don't know what I should do to make this work please help

InDesign CC interactive forms - PDF is blank when printed from any printer

Hello - I have created an interactive PDF form in InDesign CC, which appears to work perfectly. However, I cannot get it to print. It shows the information on the page in the print preview, but the page is completely blank when it prints to a printer.
In InDesign, I have double-checked that the ‘printable’ option is selected for all my buttons & it is saved as an interactive pdf. I have tried it on different printers, yet I still cannot figure out what’s going on. Even the logo or the title, which aren’t interactive, don’t print. The form is sent very nicely via e-mail, but we need to be able print out the filled in form on our end for our files.
Interestingly, when I save it as a regular PDF file, the information is there, however, all the interactive fields (text boxes and/or buttons) are missing.
I have narrowed it down to the ‘Submit via e-mail’ button that I created in InDesign. If I do not have the ‘Submit’ button, everything works and prints exactly how I want.
I am using Acrobat Standard X as my default PDF program.
I posted this question in the InDesign forum and was advised to ask my question here. Any insight anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

InDesign - Buttons and Forms in InCopy

Within the Buttons and Forms section of InDesign - do the PDF options revert to their default when sections are exported to Incopy?
I have set up a number of checkboxes and form fields (and updated the button values/ PDF Options), and want to export these to InCopy for use in other InDesign files, however, when I place the InCopy fields the PFD options appear to revert back to the default, rather than retaining the PDF Options I had put in place.
Is there a way that I can keep the PDF Options without manually updating each field again?

Never tried that, but I'd be far more inclined to do this using snippets instead.

PDF of InDesign doc displays form elements list when opened

Saw a thread on this with no answers in the Windows InDesign. I have a file with interactive elements (navigation buttons). When some people open the file in a web browser the top of the page displays a warning message that there are form elements in the document. Is there an easy way to turn these warnings off? I didn't add any form items. Just made some graphics have button actions.

Import word files in InDesign but only Form Text or selected styles

Hi Guys,
I have this magazine I design a few times a year and the articles are sent to me as word-files with tables they have to fill in in order to know who the author is, what the title will be etc.
I would like to find a way to easily import the content of their articles etc. in Indesign and I found out that importing Word files is simple as goodbye. Me happy!
But now I constantly have to copy-paste their article text out of the table and paste it elsewhere in the InDesign file, so I thought: isn't there a possibility to, while importing the word file, select what styles should be imported (so that the instructions I put in the template for their word articles for instance won't be put into the InDesign file but only the forms they fill in) or can I setup the importing of it to only import the form field text (if the word file would be set up as a form with protected items fields they can fill in?).

I am using indesign CS2 and i'm trying to import a Word document into a new chapter for a book i'm laying out. it's about 30 pages, but there are at least 80 foot notes. i'm able to get about 1/2 of the document with the footnotes to flow correctly, then EVERYTHING disappears. the only way i've been able to get the remaining text to appear is by adding characters to the text. i'll hit "vvvvvvvvvvvv" a bunch of times and "magically" a little chunk of text and it's footnotes appears. then the ole disappearing act happens. so i do it again. i'm able to get all the text to appear finally, but when i delete the "vvvvvvvvvv" from the places i inserted them, the text disappears again. i have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. any ideas?

"Guardar excepcion de forma permanente" no se puede marcar.

Cuando pido conectarme a un sitio que tiene certificado de seguridad me pide siempre la comprobacion y "antiguamente" no habia problema, pues se podia marcar la opcion para que "guardase esa excepcion permanentemente".
A partir de no se qué version de Mozilla esa opcion aparece pero no se puede marcar.
¿ como se puede hacer esto ahora ?

Esto me pasa por querer hacer las cosas rapido y en vez de
usar illustrator
utilizo Corel... pero en fin...
Hice un folleto con corel de 20 paginas... cuando iba por la

sacarle el backup automatico...
cuando llegúe a la 20 lo guardé y me fui a mi
casa...
Hoy cuando lo quiero abrir... lo revisualizo bine... lo
intento abrir y la
barra de carga va bien... va bien... va... CHAN! se me
clavó en el medio y
me aparece el ARM de corel (asistente de errores del
programa).
NOOOOOOOO!!!...
¿alguien conoce algun programa para recuperar archivos

Intercambio de archivos en indesign 5

Hola, me acabo de descargar la versión de prueba de IDD5, y no veo la función de exportar / intercambio de indesign. Para poder abrir un archivo en una versión anterior.
¿existe?, ¿dónde?

Entonces... mejor quitar todas las opciones que vengan referentes al mundo de la impresión, no?... Y así dejar un programa solo y exclusivamente para dispositivos móviles. Que no digo que puediera ser, pero que todavía hay gente que trabajamos en otros formatos todavía.Sería absurdo bajar de versión un documento que ha sido creado para móviles.Y por cierto... IDML no me ha funcionado.

Bueno la frase final encerraba un toque ironico que no has apreciado. Comparto contigo que es una pena,pero tiene su explicacion. Primero el formato INX tenia ciertas limitaciones y deficiencias, y al añadir nuevas funcionalidades al programa vieron que no el formato no daba mas de si y contenia los problema ya comentados y diversos errores decidieron reemplazarlo por otro mucho mas potente, completo, fiable y ademas editable, el IDML. El nucleo del problema de la no compatibilidad entre las sucesivas versiones de InDesign, es que podemos considerar que el archivo consta de dos partes una del diseño de las paginas y otro de sus contenidos, de su gestion, y la forma en que lo hace que es analogo a una base de datos. Esta es la causa de que los srchivos NO puedan ser compatibles entre las sucesivas versiones, algo muy distinto a los formatos graficos, etc. A diferencia de otras aplicaciones InDesign ha tenido que (intentar) adaptarse e incluir soluciones para algunos profundos cambios tecnologicos que no se planteaban o no eran direcciones previstas años atras. Por ejemplo la creacion de documentos interactivos, la creacion o salida a EPUB, documentos para tabletas tipo iPad y dispositivos moviles, ... Incluso algunas mejores en flujos actuales han tenido que postponerse para incluir funciones nuevas que reclamaban nuevos tipos de usuarios.

Form Inside InDesign

We have manuals for tools we sale, and I put them together with InDesign. These manuals are interactive PDF's. I am wanting to add a Quality Assurance form inside the manuals. So if customer has a problem with a product or service they can fill in this form and click the email button to send this form information to us.
I use Livecycle Designer ES4 to build all forms we use inhouse and to send out to customers. I have also used Acrobat & Indesign for build forms.
The problem I'm having is with Indeisgn when you place a interactive PDF into Indesign (be it from Livecycle or Acrobat) you lose all info for that form. And making a form inside the document using InDesign and adding a email button. When the email button is used to email the form you don't just get that one page you get the complete manual.
I would think there may be a script you can use to have it email just the one page this form is on. I know some javascript and have wrote some scripts, but I'm still new to the script world.
Is there a way to embed this form so that it will work the way I'm needing?

I inserted the form but the form I am using is an XML form and Acrobat will not let you insert an XML form. You can add it as an attachment.
The only problem with the attachment is, if you don't have something that info's you that there is an attachment present it could be missed.
I made a quick form from InDesign and exported it to an interactive PDF. Then went and inserted this PDF form into the PDF manual and it worked like I am needing. The only problem is when you click the email button it still emails the complete manual. I have to now figure out how to be able to email only the one page.
I thought I may have to add a link that takes you to this form on our website so it could be completed and sent from there.

Via createPDF you would not be able to electronic sign the PDF form, you would either require Adobe Reader or purchase Adobe Acrobat to sign the PDF.
