InDesign CC 2014 Will Not Launch

I am running Windows 8.1, and I have been trying to get InDesign CC 2014 to work all night. I looked up on these forums possible solutions, but they either do not work, or do not apply. When I attempt to delete preferences to make it work, the folder is empty and has nothing to delete. I also ran the Cleaner tool, but when I check the report, it says it failed. I am at a loss. Does anyone have other solutions?

The problem here is the installer failed to set the permissions on the preference folders, so ID cannot write them (which is why they aren't there). Find the two Adobe folders under Appdata/local and appdata/roaming and set both System and your user to full control for the folder and subfolders.

  • Premier Pro 2014 will not launch

I've downloaded Premier Pro 2014 and tried to launch it, but it freezes every time and won't even force quit. I have to hard crash the whole computer to get out of it.
I've tried reinstalling, setting the permissions to read/write in the Adobe folder in the library, and tried to reset the preferences on launch as described here. But nothing works.
Also I'm having basically the same problem with After Effects 2014.
I think it has something to do with Media Core, but I can't figure out how to remedy. Earlier versions of PP CC and AEP CC are both working fine. Just these new versions will not launch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Computer is a MacPro, 2.93 Ghz Quad-Core with 10GB of RAM.
    Thanks!

    It's working! Yay!
Strangely, there is no 8.0 folder in the Plug-ins folder. So I pulled the plugins out of the 7.0>MediaCore folder and then was able to launch PP 2014. After getting it running. I quit PP and dragged the plug-ins back into the 7.0>MediaCore folder and was able to launch PP 2014. And this time it launched with all the plug-ins.
I was also able now to launch After Effects CC 2014 with all its plug-ins working.
Is it possible there's a different file structure for PP 2014 Plug-ins?
Anyway it's working. Thanks for your help.

  • Indesign CS 4 will not launch

I had to buy a new computer as my mac book pro expired. After uploading all files i tried to launch Indesign CS4 and it would not launch but gave me an error code 150:30. can anyone help me out here?

Sometimes migrating an InDesign installation to OSX 10.9 will work. I have a customer who lately did that with InDesign CS5 and astonishingly it worked for him (OSX 10.6.8 => OSX 10.9.?). I would have never adviced him to do so. Also all other apps in his CS5 Design Suite did work. Was it by chance? Fingers crossed, that he could work on flawlessly…

  • InDesign CS5.5 will not launch on new MacBook Pro

I have a new MacBook Pro and a new install of CS 5.5. All apps launch and run with the exception of InDesign. Trying to open a new or existing InDesign filr results in the spinning beach ball of death that can only be exited by a force quit; InDesign not responding. Anyone else experience similar? Any suggestions?

    Please try recreating the preferences

in case it doesn't help then please delete all the files at the location :  /Users/<current user>/Library/Logs

  • Indesign CS4 will not launch in Windows Vista

Indesign CS4 will not launch but all other CS4 programs will in Windows Vista, has been worked perfectly up until mid february, I have spent two weeks dealing with Adobe support, and finally I ran “Windows Installer Clean Up” and restarted as requested on phone call to adobe today, then ran “WinCS4Cleanupscript” which inform me that it was clean (or words to that effect) and restarted. Did new install of CS4, at registration I noticed that the Reg Form was pre filled and with my preferences which was a bit strange. After all that Indesign still does not launch but is running. Please can anyone help.

This is the earlier thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/2621367#2621367
I think the onus is on Rapport to sort its software to prevent it interfering with other applications, and there is a post in that thread that indicates that Rapport is both aware of the problem and is working to overcome it.
I would hope that Adobe itself would have picked up this problem by at least monitoring this forum, but other than adding it to the knowledgebase for its technical support, which I don't expect is an overnight thing to do, I can't see what else it would be expected to do.
Perhaps if anyone from Adobe is monitoring this problem they could chime in here and let us know what the position is. I strongly suspect that Trusteer may have been the reason I couldn't get InDesign to run under Windows 7, and so I rolled the whole shooting match back to XP. I am planning to reinstall W7 with the knowledge that I may have to toggle Trusteer on and off to run InDesign, but it would be helpful to have some assurance from either party that a fix is on its way.
In the previous thread the Rapport response implied there was reference to the problem on its FAQ page. If there is I can't find it.

  • Itunes will not launch after latest update 2/2014

Just installed latest update for iTunes on 2/21/2014 on my MBP running snow leopard and after restarting MBP iTunes will not  launch.
    Thank you
    MacBook Pro
Late 2008 unibody running Snow Leopard 10.6.8

Yes, first, I would run Disc Utility; Verify Disc, Verify Disc Permissions, & Repair Disc Permissions.
Then I would go here > http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ for the .dmg file download.
Then I would reinstall iTunes. So, unless you do not have enough free space on your hard drive, that should work.
Otherwise, it may be time for some spring cleaning...

  • Adobe Illustrator CC will not launch

My Adobe Illustrator CC simply will not launch. It only opens a dialog that says, "Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 quit unexpectedly." There is a button that says "Reopen", but when I click there, it only opens the same dialog page. I have filled out the problem, which is suppose to notify the problem to Apple but so far so results have come to me with what might be wrong.
Can anyone, please help me to get Illustrator up and running again. Thanks

  • IE 10 in Captured OSD WIM will not launch on certain platforms

    All,
I've been fighting this issue for a couple of months now. I have an active case that I've opened with Microsoft recently that I am still working on them with.
For some background, I have a Windows 7 SP1 OS WIM that was built and captured via SCCM on a VMWare platform. It includes all patches up through February 2014. This also includes Internet Explorer 10 via the WSUS update. We are NOT installing IE 11.
The build and capture sequence finishes without error and I've imported the OS WIM into SCCM for deploying.
This is where issues start on some of our systems.
We support about 35 models. On certain models, Internet Explorer 10 will not launch. In addition, we get the dllhost.exe memory leak issue (where it keeps spawning a process). The ONLY common thread I can determine is that they have a discrete nVidia GPU.
    The models are as follows:
    HP EliteBook 8770w - Quadro K5000M
    HP ZBook 17 - Quadro K4100M
    HP Z600 - Quadro 5000
    HP Z820 - Quadro 6000
    Dell Precision R7610 - Quadro NVS310
Each one of these systems, as stated, complete the imaging process fine and everything else appear to be running without issue. I've even cut the driver package back to only including a network and storage driver and the issue STILL happens.
Has anyone else seen or experienced this issue and have a solution? I've had some success with uninstalling the KB2670838, rebooting, reinstalling KB2670838 and then reinstalling IE 10. After doing that, it appears to function properly.

    Mikhail,
Hey there. I never did come back to this thread, but even after working with Microsoft for months they were unable to definitely determine what was up. They event sent a specialist out to my office, worked side-by-side with me and deeply analyzed what was
    going on.
If I recall correctly, the culprit did point to the IE 10 Pre-req patch KB2670838. Including that patch in the WIM would cause issues with several of our systems when trying to use a unified WIM. So, we install that patch and IE 10 during our provisioning
    process for Windows 7 systems.
As for the drivers, the issue would occur even if you gave the machines the basic two drivers it needed (Network and Storage). Removing the video drivers from the equation didn't resolve the issue at all. I know it sounds odd, but the widespread corruption
of the registry we were seeing was baffling to say the least. Again, removing KB2670838 (and thus IE 10) from our WIM fixed all of our issues.
One more thing I wanted to add was that it also (for an unknown reason) caused the local certificate store to be completely deleted on the nVidia based systems. This prevented the SCCM client from installing as it could not validate the signature on the
    ccmsetup.cab file.
Again, on systems that were non-nVidia the WIM would deploy and work fine without ANY issues. It is just on those systems with nVidia GPU's that all the odd issues occurred. Why could never be determined. We just finally moved on with a work around.

  • Flash CS3 will not launch

After years of using Flash CS3 on our Windows 7 computer, it would not launch. So we did a system recovery -(everted to factory image), re-installed Windows and updates, installed Flash CS3, then successfully did the license verification. But Flash CS3 will not launch.
We copied the Flash Icon from the Start Menu to the TaskBar. This is the icon we clicked on to do license verification, but now we can't use it to launch Flash CS3.
    Thanks for any ideas.

    8GB Memory
    1TB Hard Drive
    Model: HPE-210y

(I realize Flash CS3 is not meant to work on Win 7, but it has for years on this computer and on a Toshiba laptop, also with AMD processor)

Well I decided to reinstall OSX to see if that would help,
and that seemed to fix it. I'm still not sure what the problem was,
but a fresh install seemes to have fixed it :]

  • Photoshop will not launch

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard.  I installed Creative Suite 4 Design Standard.  Ilustrator and InDesign run well, but Photoshop will not launch.  Do I need to uninstall the entire suite and reinstall it again, or can I just reinstall Photoshop?

I downloaded updates from your website and Photoshop is now running.

CS4 works just fine on Snow Leopard (even CS3).  Lion has some bugs that
cause problems with older versions. And we need to know more about why you
can't launch Photoshop. What error message do you get?

I recently installed Mavericks on this iMac and upgraded to Adobe Cloud 2014 now InDesign CC 2014 fails to launch and I get a crash report. Has this happened to anyone else?

It isn't happening to everyone else, but if there was a trend of it happening to a lot of people, that would probably show up in the official InDesign user forum. But there aren't a lot of crash reports there, so it isn't something that's happening to everyone. There are a couple, so you might look at those. But since there is not a huge wave of crash reports, the problem might be more related to a problem on the system rather than a problem with InDesign, like a corrupted font.
The best place to troubleshoot is probably over at the Adobe forum since the users there know InDesign very well.
