    Any Explanation would be appreciated!  A solution would be great!!
    Thanks.

    I found the permissions was a red herring for me - first time I run InDesign CC I get errors for all 6 plugins, then afterwards I only get one - but log out and in again, and they all come back.
    I too am running a packaged installation built using the official Adobe CC packager.
    My solution was that I found a load of symlinks are missing for the plugins the errors are thrown for. I manually recreated them and the errors are gone for good.

  • Startup Alert when starting InDesign CC

    Hi there,
    I get the following error message when starting InDesign CC: Startup Alert: Einige für das Farbmanagement erforderliche Dateien fehlen. Installieren Sie die Anwendung erneut, um eine korrekte Funktionsweise sicherzustellen. (In English: Some files required for color management are missing. Install the application again to ensure proper operation).
    Installation was done 3times. Even installed all CC Apps again starting with BRIDGE CC.
    Some background:
    Mac OSX 10.7.5
    First installation was CS 4
    Then CS 6
    Now CC
    Please help, thx
    Regards,
    Dennis

  • Startup Alert Chime

    This is a very strange one.
    For about a month the startup alert chime was gone. Of course I wasn't exactly displeased with that. In fact I was so happy with it that I didn't even investigate why it had gone away I was just happy it had gone bye-bye. And then two days ago I started hearing it again.
    Does anyone know about this or want to venture a guess as to why it went away and then came back?

    Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time.
    Reset NVRAM/PRAM

  • Indesign 2014 startup too slowly

    Since June, Indesign 2014 has been opened too slowly at startup.
    I wait usually about 5 minutes and if it still isn't opened, shut it down at task manager and start again. At the second time the program usually opens faster (1-2 minutes).
    All this is embarassing. My computer is fairly well for adobe software, the problem is in something else.
    By the way, the former Indesign (CC) is still on my system too. May be there has to remain only one? In fact I don't use Indesign CC, so can I uninstall it? will it have any influence to proper working of Indesign 2014?

    Many of us leave multiple versions installed (especially for inDesign, which has poor backward compatibility) without a problem. Each version is its own application and does not interfere with any other version.
    I have no idea why you re experiencing such slow startup with Version 10, but I would suspect some sort of software conflict -- either an incompatible plugin or a background program. Does the problem persist if you start the computer in Safe Mode? If you log in with a different user account?

  • After upgrading to 9.1 CC getting Startup Alert re:plug-ins

    After upgrading InDesign CC to 9.1 this morning, getting two dialogs:
    1) Cannot load InCopy Bridge UI.InDesignPlugin because it requires version 9.1 or later of the Username UI.InDesignPlugin plug-in. Please contact vendor for compatible version of Username UI.InDesignPlugin.  Show this alert again?
    2) Cannot load Assignment UI.InDesignPlugin because it requires version 9.1 or later of the Username UI.InDesignPlugin plug-in. Please contact vendor for compatible version of Username UI.InDesignPlugin. Show this alert again?
    Can someone tell me what these are?
    Also, click NO to not show the alert again doesn't work.

    Seems like same as this issue. Check this http://forums.adobe.com/message/5637795#5637795

  • Missing standard plugins at InDesign CS6 startup

    We recently updated from CS5 to CS6 and since then everytime I try to use InDesign CS6 I get errors telling me it cannot load plugins for some of the standard panels, for example:
    Gradient Panel.InDesignPlugin
    OutputMiscUI.InDesignPlugin
    Swatch Library Panel.InDesignPlugin
    Transparency UI.InDesignPlugin
    Text Color Panel.InDesignPlugin
    Then it gives an error that says "Cannot open resource file"
    The application will go ahead and open, but most of the standard panels are missing. This isn't an issue of trying to open a newer version with an older version, because I am just trying to open the application to create a new document.
    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.
    Help?

    Uninstall again, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) and reinstall. If you're on a mak, hold down the Shift key when booting to start up in safe made before you reinstall, for Windows, see How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista
    Return to normal startup after the install.

  • Adobe Indesign CS4 Startup Crash.

    Hopefully someone can help me with this, i'm having a problem with Indesign CS4 where it keeps giving me an error message every time i try to load it up.
    I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it to no avail. I will copy and paste some info from the event viewer below hopefully someone may b able to help.
    The operating system i'm using is Windows XP Profesional 32bit. If anymore info is required i will do my best to provide it.
    The laptop in question is running an Intel Centrino Duo T5600 1.83ghz with 2GB of ram and Nvidia Quadro NVS 110m Graphics.

    I have a possible solution for you, as i have just solved this same issue on my new installation of CS4.
    CS4 did not like any of my printer drivers, so SOLUTION: change your default printer, start indesign and then change the printer back to the one u need, or else uninstall all printers, then re-install them after indesign loads correct.
    if you hold CTL ALT SHFT and click to start indesign, then you will be prompted to decide to delete preferences or not, this may work, it may not, my money is on the printers:
    so to recap: change default printer, or remove all printers, indesign should work, and then reinstall/reselect printer.....

  • Startup Alert

    When my iMac starts I have recently seen an Alert "Warning" message pop up. It stays up very, very briefly so I only read "Your computer ..." I cannot read the entire message. I have search the console log, events log, etc for a clue
    So - how do I get a handle on what the system is trying to tell me?

    Thanks - - OK, after experimentation, the Alert is due to the APC UPS that is connected via USB.
    The message is a warning that the computer is running on battery power. The only issue is that the computer is NOT running on battery. So the alert goes away nearly immediately (which is what makes it hard to read).
    I did not install any APC software, and am simply using the Energy Saver panel. So - perhaps I have messed up in setting up UPS settings? Since it is unsettling to receive an unreadable warning, and since it really seems to be of little consequence, I wonder how to fix this.

  • Indesign Startup and Update problem

    After I updated to the latest CC desktop today, I can't open Indesign.  The following Startup Alerts appear: EBookExport.IndesignPlugin and UI.IndesignPlugin.  I can't update Indesign: The download appears to be corrupted message appears. Please assist me.

    Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
    I uninstalled Indesign and I am busy re-installing it again, it got stuck at 90% for 3 hours today but I will try again tonight.
    Thank you very much for helping me.

  • InDesign does not recognize Digital Publishing.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in

    When I try to open a specific file, or just launch the program, InDesign will open a few seconds, freeze, and then crash. The first few times, I got the message:
    Startup Alert
    Adobe InDesign does not recognize Digital Publishing.InDesignPlgin as a valid plug-in. Please reinstall the Digital Publishing.InDesignPlugin plug-in and restart InDesign.
    Show this alert again? Y/N?
    I've tried searching for what this plug-in is, or searching other forums for a similar problem. No luck. I tried uninstalling InDesign CC and reinstalling. No luck. I tried downloading and installing something called "AdobeDigitalPublishingPatch-CC-27.0.0.dmg." No luck.
    Let me know if you know how I might fix this. Like I said, I am running InDesign CC on Mac OS X (version 10.8.4).

    Hey Hank,
    I tried both deleting my preferences the way you suggested, as well as doing another uninstall, and checking "Remove Preferences"... and neither worked. InDesign is still opening, freezing, and then crashing.
    I even found the Digital Publishing plugin, and tried removing it from the Plugsin folder. That made the error message go away (which started reappearing after I reinstalled), but it didn't do anything related opening or creating a file.
    Sigh.
    Any other ideas?

  • InDesign won't close files

    Hallo everybody,
    I'm new her at InDesign-Scripting-Forum, but I have a great problem, and hope there is somebody out who can help me:
    My problem is that InDesign won't close files which have been opened.
    Just a little Javascript (I have reduced it to the minimum):
    var myFile="1.indd";
    // Open the file
    var myDoc=app.open(File(myFile));
    // Close the file
    myDoc.close(SaveOptions.no);
    if(app.documents.length > 0)
            alert("Still " + app.documents.length + " files opened");
    If this script starts from InDesign Javascript Panel, there are no problems or errors.
    InDesign will open the file (1.indd), and closes the file, and no alert will appear.
    But.... if the Javascript ist copied to the InDesign "startup script" folder, so that InDesign should
    run this script on InDesign Startup,the alert will appear.
    If you are running the script in a loop, just like working with 10 files of a current directory,
    InDesign will show alert of 10 opened files at the end.
    So.. at the end of the script, I want to move the (opened and closed) file to another directory.
    But when InDesign "says" the file is opened, I cannot move or rename the file.
    (It is only possible when running the script manually by the Javascript Panel).
    Can anybody help me, so that I can close the file, or that InDesign will close the file
    when running as a "startup-script"?
    Thanks very much.
    Martin.

    I have 8 MB of RAM. I restarted all the software, but not my computer.
    It is in the left column that I am having the problem.
    There was a previous discussion thread where a user on Mountain Lion was having the same issue, but it wasn't resolved in that discussion thread either.

    I am on InDesign CC and on a mac.
    It worked to reinstall the program via my Creative Cloud app.
    First I had to uninstall the app though...

  • I updated InDesign CC. Now when I try to open it, I get multiple error messages.

    The first error message reads "Startup Alert. Cannot load Assignment UI.InDesignPlugin because it requires version 9.3 or later of the Username UI.InDesignPlugin plug-in. Please contact vendor for compatible version of Usrname UI.InDesignPlugin."
    What does this mean? I'm running on OS 10.8.5. Does this mean I can only run InDesign CC on OS 9.3 or later now? It worked on 10.8.5 before I updated yesterday.

    I just tried to update it again, but it doesn't give me that option and shows that it ID CC was updated yesterday. I also tried to update Extensions Manager yesterday, but it failed twice. So now I wonder if that could have something to do with it.

  • Why can't I package in InDesign in CC 2014?

    The package option seems to be completely absent in my InDesign CC 2014. As per Adobe's recommendation here (link) I tried changing workspaces to Advanced to no avail. I still have Adobe InDesign CC version on here and it has the package feature so that's our workaround right now. Does anyone know why I'm not seeing the package option?

    So it looks like Manage Extensions has been moved under InDesign on the menu bar. I launched it and it installed the Extension Manager.
    I rebuilt my InDesign preferences and got what must've been a suppressed Startup Alert
    Anyone happen to know how I can reinstall these plugins?
