InDesign crashes when I use the clipboard too much

Wow, this site is truly terrible.
Anyway.
I am experiencing a crash in InDesign when I use the clipboard too much.
I have a habit of hitting "Ctrl + C" more than once, and this appears to trigger a race condition that causes a crash.
It's reproducable but doesn't happen every time.

Are you saying you hit Ctrl-C more than once without changing the selection? I don't tend to do that, so I don't know if it's a problem, but I've NEVER had that error using the clipboard in ID. What version of Windows are you running? You seem to have ID CC (dark interface is a clue), but is it 32- or 64-bit?

Photoshop crashes when I use the marquis tool.

Photoshop crashes when I use the marquee tool. As soon as I make a selection it crashes my computer (every time!) by either rendering the screen black or sometimes all white. I have to force shut down and restart. I'm using MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8 with Photoshop CS6. I am not in a position to update OS at this time. Is there anything I can do to work around this problem? It's extremely time-consuming and infuriating.

That is not an application crash - that is a kernel panic, which means there is a hardware defect, a bug in the OS or a bug in a low level driver (like parts of the video driver). Kernel panics are not caused by applications, but by defective hardware or bugs in the OS and drivers.
Resetting prefs may avoid the settings that triggered the crash - but the cause remains in the hardware, OS, or driver code.
Since Apple is not going to update the drivers in 10.6.8, your best bet is to update the OS when you can, and hope the new drivers are in better shape. Unfortunately, it is also possible that you just have a bad GPU or video RAM - and fixing that would require replacing the video card or system (in the case of laptops or all-in-one machines).

Illustrator crashes when I use the move tool. No help here in the forums. Ridiculous problem that is so basic and that completly ruins workflow.

PS CS 5.1 crashing when I use the Quick Select took in the neg format

I am using PSCS5.1 and when I use the "quick select" tool and use the "Alt" key to turn it to the negitive so that I can cut out stuff I do not want to select I get a message that say's "Adobe PSCS has stopped working" and it closes down the whole program! I'm using a PC with Vista.

Theresa, it could be helpful if you'd go look in your Windows Application log for error entries corresponding to the Photoshop crashes.
Click Start, type event viewer into the search box, and click Event Viewer when it comes up.
Navigate into Windows Logs > Application, and look for red Error entries.
When you find the one(s) for the Photoshop crashes, look at the info in the General tab specifically for faulting module. List the name(s) immediately following faulting module here.

PSE 9 crashes when I use the Spot Healing Brush tool

When I use the Spot Healing Brush tool PSE9 crashs completly. Is it a bug? In the older version 8 I had no problem.
I use WIN XP SP2, Intel Pentium 4, 3 Ghz, GPU: NVIDIA Geforce FX 5700, DirectX 9.0c 4.09.00.0904.
I tried it also on another PC with WIN7 and it caused the same problem.

I know this post doesn't really help you guys, but I'm also using PSE9 on a Win7 Intel Quad Core Dell computer and the spot healing brush works fine. I only offer this post to indicate that it apparently is not a universal bug in PSE9. Perhaps an Adobe expert can jump in here and help. I can only offer that in Preferences I do have the RAM dialed up to 80%, but I don't think this is related to your problem.

Hi, when I updated to iOS 6.1, I noticed that I crash sometimes when I use the keyboard. Otherwise it's fine. What should I do?

I was on the phone earlier with apple care for some questions regarding safari, and I mentioned to him about all the problems people are have with the 6.1 upgrade, and asked what could they do if their ipad is out of warranty. He said anyone with an ipad that has problems with a upgrade, has up to 30 after it was released to call apple support for help at no cost.

Motion 5 - Keeps crashing when i use the text tool

Just installed the Motion 5. Crashes wheni use the text tool for no reason. the project browser doesn't load too. What happened to apple products? They used to be good.

I had the same issue and what solved it for me was to clean up the fonts.
I moved all my fonts from /Users/me/Library/Fonts to /Library/Fonts ....
that did it for me ... plus it renders the typefaces correctly when you open projects later.

Bridge crashes when I use the export panel (when I try to specify a folder)

Hi all!
Every time I use the export option, no matter where I access it from, when I try to specify a folder to move the file to, bridge crashes.
I can't just use "move" or "copy" to because I want to change the file format as well as move it.
Has anyone encountered this?
I already have the bridge 4.05.11 update installed.
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Every time I use the export option, no matter where I access it from, when I try to specify a folder to move the file to, bridge crashes.
In the export panel at the top right is a small menu icon, if you click on it and from the two options choose manage modules.
Next to ' select modules to enable' is a small icon of a toothed wheel. Click on it and first choose check for update (probably showing non available but give it a try) and then choose reinstall all modules. Restart Bridge and check if it is working. If still not restart Bridge holding down option key and choose reset preferences and see if that worked for you.
And there are other ways to save as new file format in new location. Assuming you have Photoshop also active go to the Bridge menu Tools / Photoshop and choose 'image processor, explore the options and set them to your wshes. You can also create an action in Photoshop for this goal and instead of image processor choose Batch and find the action you created

I just installed a bunch of new fonts on my system (0s x 10.6) a couple thousand to be exact. now when i try to use the text tool . photoshop crashes. i ran font book and got rid off all the brocken fonts. my other system has llike 3000 fonts and has no problems. this is on my laptop which is a less powerful machine but still well equipped.

Sounds like a corrupt font.
Even though you "ran font book" have you also run a utility like Onyx or Cocktail to clear font caches?

Photoshop CS6 Cloud crashes when I use the eyedropper tool

Since upgrading to CS6 Creative Cloud subscription a few weeks ago I have noticed Photoshop has crahsed a number of times when I am using the eyedropper tool - very frustrating, please help.

PS4 crashes when I use the crop tool

I have CS4 Design Standard and it is loaded on my IMAC and Powerbook. When I use PS4 on my imac and use the crop tool, it just hangs up and I have to shutdown and restart. However, it works perfectly on my powerbook. Any suggestions?

First, just press the Clear button in the tool's Options bar.
You may simply have some values or units in the Options bar fields which are trying to generate a ridiculously large image.

InDesign Crashes Whenever I Use the Type Tool

Whenever I type anything into a text box, InDesign freezes and then shuts down. I can only type 1 or 2 letters before this happens and it happens every time whether the document is a new one or an existing one. I can place a picture into the document with no problems.
I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard from Leopard and wonder if this has anything to do with it. I run a Mac with CS5 InDesign Version 7.04.
The crash report informs me 'EXC BAD ACCESS(SIGBUS)" and "Kern Protection Failure", which means nothing to me.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like you have several options open to you:
1. As Peter Spier suggested in #17, please export your document to IDML and open the exported file and see if the problems persist.
2. Email your file to Ariza-san. Perhaps you are not aware, but it is actually extremely rare for Adobe employees to offer your this level of diagnostic. Count yourself very lucky and take advantage of it!
3. You might also also try exporting one of the stories to InDesign Tagged Text, deleting the existing story, and re-importing the story. But I'd try that last.
All I can think of is that there might be a conflict between the text in the old documents, created with LILO, and the new text added which had LILO unplugged. Is this feasible?

In any case, is it possible to get LILO back? It is present in my computer.
This question is also quite confusing. If you have it installed, you have it installed. If you moved it out of the Plug-Ins folder, all you need to do to restore it is to move it back. What is the question?
John, the only possible Unicode I have is the British pound symbol.
Well, it only takes one. There is an outside (low) possibility your crash is related to unicode characters. I would see if you can replicate the problem in documents that lack the £. But try the other suggestions first!
