InDesign Cross References with DTP's Cross References PRO

There are already posts all over the forum about how inter-document cross references in InDesign are "fragile" and slow and can cause crashing, which I recently learned the hard way. We tried to live with the slowness and the breaking links, but the show-stopper was that we couldn't export our largest book without InDesign crashing. (The book contains 150+ individual documents.)
Based on some recommendations, we are now using a trial of DTP's Cross References PRO plug-in for InDesign. I removed all cross references that were created using InDesign's native cross references, and added several new ones using the plug-in. The slowness has gone away and the cross references don't seem to be breaking anymore, but InDesign still crashes when I try to export our book. DTP's support people insist that their plug-in should be able to handle large books, unlike InDesign. (And I've heard very good things about their support.) Is it possible that our files and/or book are corrupted from when we had the native InDesign cross references? Has anyone switched from native InDesign cross references to DTP cross references?

I don't think it's been determined if you have the latest ID update for your version of ID? BTW, which version are you using?
Where is the "too many files open" message coming from? Operating System (which?) ID? What's the exact message? A screen shot would help. Back in the days of DOS and early Windows, there were commands to set the number of permitted files open at once. Not sure how to do it in modern OSs. If it's an ID message, perhaps someone's got a suggestion.
Some folks on the forum like to see crash files so they can try to analyze them. Search Google for terms like "adobe forum indesign pastebin" without quotes to find some of those postings and learn how to send your crash report files there, and look at the names of those who volunteer to analyze the files.
I was thinking that two book container files that hold the same total number of files in the original single book might lighten the processing load and perhaps avoid a crash. With some work, I think it's possible to get the pagination and other numbering schemes, and x-refs to emulate a single book. I think that this is different from exporting half the files from one book, then the other half. It's not tested, just a thought. One other thought is to remove one file at a time from the book, starting at either the beginning or end, and export, until you find the maximum number of files that succeed consistently. Then try from the other end, to see if the crash happens with the same number of files, or perhaps same number of pages, or even, perhaps, at the same page. Perhaps the number of cross-references in the content is related to the crash. Again, just brainstorming.
You might explore with DTPTools support whether they'd want to see your crash files, to determine if the problem traces to their plug-in. Also, perhaps they'd like to look at your whole project - if it's permissable with your company or client, to see if DTPTools' techs can reproduce the crash.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Change price in Sales Order created with reference with Quote

Hi Experts,
Need to change price (eg..1000USD to 1100USD) in sales order (va02). Here Sales Order is created (va01)with reference with Quote(va21) where price in maintained (as 1000USD). so price in Sales Order is copied from Quote. Now, If I want to do the change in Sales Order (from 1000USD to 1100USD) kindly suggest me what are all the possible ways. Can I do the changes within the existing documents rather than creating new docs. due to the change.
Note: User is creating new Quote with 1100USD and creating subsequent new Sales Order with new Quote.

In va02 you double-click on the material that has been entered, then in the new screen goto the condition tab, here u will find the $1000 that you have entered, and then change it to $1100.

Premiere Pro CS 5.5 can't do a simple cross dissolve with MPE enabled?

When adding cross dissolves to a project that I'm working on, I've come across an odd problem. I say odd because this should be dirt simple, but Adobe seems to have messed this up. Please advise on any solution or work around, or perhaps simply see if you can recreate the issue so we can get Adobe to fix this.
Problem:
Cross dissolves transitions don't seem to work consistently in cs 5.5. Note: I know how transitions work, and I'm not doing something stupid like trying to apply a transition to a cut without actually removing any video between the two clips (assuming the clips came from the same source video.). I'm able to recreate this issue on two different systems with premiere pro cs 5.5 by doing the follwing:
Create a new project and and sequence with the default settings.
Enable the Mercury Playback Engine if it isn't already enabled.
I import the Wildlife.wmv video that comes default with Windows 7 systems.
Drop it the video into the sequence.
Ripple delete about a 2 second section of the video. be sure to do this in the first half of the video, and make sure the the video changes the scene during this period so that you will notice the cross dissolve transition when it is applied.
Apply the default cross dissolve transition to the edit.
Review the edit. For my test, this edit always seems to work fine.
This is a screen capture of the working cross dissolve transition.
Now let me show you what happens when I do a similar edit somewhere in the second half of the video clip.
As you can see, for the duration of the transition, only the clip to the left is shown. At the end of the transition effect the program out preview jumps to displaying the clip to the right. There is no transition.
Additional notes:
This second transition works fine with MPE disabled, but because if of my other problem http://forums.adobe.com/message/3725642 that I have with MPE disable it is not a viable work around.

I too am experiencing this issue. AVCHD footage, GPU Acceleration, trying to apply a cross dissolve, and instead it randomly seems to see it as a simple cut. The Cross Dissolve is simply ignored... Adjusting the footage length, removing the CDissolve, re-rendering, etc. have no effect. For whatever reason, in that specific location on the timeline, a cross dissolve with GPU acceleration is impossible. Yet, in other sections of the timeline, it is just fine.
(The Fast Blur trick mentioned above worked (Thank you!) however, when I changed my playback resolution on the screen display, that broke the fix. Deleting the fast blur, and applying it to the clip on the other side of the cross dissolve, re-enabled the work around)
I also see an issue when a clip changes in the timeline, (cut from one piece of footage, to another) the video will begin to studder, dropping frames. Framerate seems to drop to about 2fps. To get smooth playback back, I have to pause and resume the playback. Even if this is done very very rapidly, it still fixes the playback issue. it's just really annoying to have to constantly stop and resume playback everytime a video clip changes in the timeline.
I have a dedicated hard drive for video, and a dedicated mirrored array for the OS. the video drive is a 7200rpm SATAII drive, and I'm using AVCHD footage. I really don't think it's a disk speed issue... particularly as pausing and resuming (even if you do it as fast as you can possibly hit the keys) fixes it. I'd rather not spend the $ to set up a RAID 10 for video, if I can avoid it and particularly if it's not needed.

I made the changes you suggested: imported flash.Display.MovieClip and also made the class extend MovieClip.
The error is still throwing in compiler errors. I am not really good enough to edit this class because there are some functions I don't still understand very good. This is the class below:

Access of undefined method/property through reference with a static type Class

I get the following error: (it's not word for word but you get the idea)
Error: Access of undefined method getStatus through reference with a static type Class.
Here's what's happening in the code. I'm trying to create a User class that is instantiated at the start of my app. I want the User class to have properties like mainStatus, with helper methods like setStatus etc. Pretty simple.
so on my HardDisk I have my flash_working folder with all my flash projects. I created my class file/package under the directory com.mypackage

the public getStatus() function that you created needs to be referred to through an instance of the class.
So:

Also, an aside. You can create a getter/setter for status, to avoid having to do the function as such.

I can't drag and drop any music from iTunes into the iPad tab on the left it just come up with a red cross ? Help !

I just up loaded a load of music onto my computer and then when I press ctrl and s and try to drag the album tag over the iPad one it just comes up with a red cross and won't let me drop anything in it !

You will need to Sync your iPad and all Music/Albums Selected will transfer over from iTunes..

Partial Payment of CM with "V" in invoice reference

Hi Experts,
Can you please share your insights as to why SAP doesn't allow partial payment/clearing of CMs with "V" in invoice reference when "Include invoice reference" is activated in the editing options of processing open items. I've read that this is such for invoice-based items. What does that mean?

My scenario goes like this, the CM is greater than my invoice, so I'd like to partially apply the CM to clear the invoice. But F-51 (F-53 or F-58 may also apply), won't let me use partial payment (payment amount column is displayed only and full application is automatic). I've read that when "include invoice reference" is activated, partial payments for invoice-based items are no longer possible. Btw, the CM is not related to any invoices, and only contains "V" in invoice reference.
My question is what's the reason that SAP determines that my CM is "invoice-based" when the CM has "V" in its invoice reference?

Tds line item not simulating while posting as reference with FBR2

When I am posting an Invoice using previous document as reference with Tcode FBR2 WTax line Item not simulating, but while I am posting without reference i.e. with Tcode FB60 it is simulating, this problem i am facing in production server from this fiscal year but in development server it is working properly.
what is the possible cause and how to solve this problem.

For WHT cannot be deducted by using F-02 OR FB01. It seems system is using the same transaction in background and not FB60 and hence tds is bnot getting deducted.

I want to copy some text from the TLF, by copy operation. I am getting this type of Error.

In the previous build, i dont use to get this type of error, but in this nightly builds i am getting this type of error.
Can anyone help me to fix the same or any workaound.

This functionality is still available, but it has moved. It's now in a TextClipboard class, in the same flashx.textLayout.edit package. So you should replace calls to getClipboardFormat() with TextClipboard.getContents().

Count Function Specific with Cross Tab Name for Multiple Cross Tabs

Hello Friends I have cross Tab1 and Cross Tab2 based on 2 query data providers. I need to feed calculate the Count of Items in Cross Tab1 and DISPLAY In cross Tab2
Dimension name is ITEM ID
So if there are 21 items in Cross TAB1 then in Cross TAB 2
I want to display "Number of Item" = 21
so do this i Created a count variable
=Count([Item ID]) In Report
which give me 21 in cross tab1 but when I drag that to cross tab2 it give me count of Item in Cross Tab2 = 87 which is wrong since i want 21
so How do I fix this Count in Cross Tab 2
Please help with code to say Count([Item ID]) In Report from cross tab1

Hi,
Have you tried for the solution given in the previous thread by converting it to the dimension or detail?
What result did you get?
If you use "Report" operator/keyword then the formula will give you result for whole report. So if you have sections in the report then you can replace it with Section keyword.
Also measure are dynamic and gives result according to the dimesion you associate with them. so you have to convert it to STRING dimension or detail. before using it in the next block.

How to create an infocube with a different time reference characteristics

I need to create a similiar cube with a different time characteristic.
When I copy from inventory cube, the time reference characteristic is 0CALDAY. I tried to change it but not possible,
How then can I create a similiar cube with 0CALMONTH as the reference time characteristics?

Hi Colin,
If you want your time reference characteristic to be 0CALMONTH, then you must ensure that all other time characteristics in the cube can be derived from this characteristic. the infocube by default chooses the most refined time charactersistics as its time reference characteristic.
That is in the cube you could then have characteristics lik 0CALQUARTER, 0CALYEAR...You cannot have 0CALWEEK or 0CALDAY since these cannot be defined from a value in 0CALMONTH.

Check double invoice with GL account and Reference field

I am very new to SDN. I have one query.
I know we have the option of control double invoice against Vendor/Customer by using reference field. But here my client is asking that control has to be from GL account and reference field, becoz some times he will receive the shipping bills 3 or 4 times agianst one billing document ( i am booking Transporter Vendor invoice by using FB60) with same bill number but expense GL's will be different most of the times. Some times knowingly or unknowingly same GL Expenditure account will be repeated with the same shipping bill number. This was happend most of the times.
So can i know how can i get the GL account and Reference field checking and error message for the same.

I feel that having a check on GL is not a good idea. If your client insists you can go for an exit or BTE.
We used BTE to have the same functionality of Logistics for FI documents also in our office.
Duplicate Invoice check process documentation is given below for your ready reference --

Check Flag for Double Invoices or Credit Memos
Indicator which means that incoming invoices and credit memos are checked for double entries at the time of entry.
Use
Checking Logistics documents
Firstly, the system checks whether the invoice documents have already been entered in the Logistics invoice verification; the system checks invoices that are incorrect, or invoices that were entered for invoice verification in the background.
Checking FI documents
The system then checks whether there are FI or Accounting documents that were created with the original invoice verification or the Logistics verification, and where the relevant criteria are the same.
Checking Logistics documents
In checking for duplicate invoices, the system compares the following characteristics by default:
Vendor
Currency
Company code
Gross amount of the invoice
Reference document number
Invoice document date
If all of these characteristics are the same, the system issues a message that you can customize.
When you enter credit memos or subsequent adjustments, the system does not check for duplicate invoices.
Exception: Country-specific solution for Argentina, where invoices and credit memos are checked for duplicate documents.
No message is issued if you enter a document that has previously been reversed.
Dependencies
The system only checks for duplicate invoices in Materials Management if you enter the reference document number upon entering the invoice.
In Customizing for the Logistics invoice verification, you can specify that the following characteristics should not be checked:
Reference document number
Invoice document date
Company code
This means that you can increase the likelihood that the system will find a duplicate invoice, because you can reduce the number of characteristics checked.
Example
The following document has already been entered and posted:
Reference document number: 333
Invoice date: 04/28/00
Gross invoice amount: 100.00
Currency: EUR
Vendor: Spencer
Company code: Munich
You have made the following settings in Customizing:
The field "Reference document number" and "Company code" are deselected, which means that these characteristics will not be checked.
Now you enter the following document:
Reference document number: 334
Invoice date: 04/28/00
Gross invoice amount: 100.00
Currency: EUR
Vendor: Spencer
Company code: Berlin
Result
Because you entered a reference document when you entered the invoice, the system checks for duplicate invoices.
The reference document number and the company code are different from the invoice entered earlier, but these characteristics are not checked due to the settings you have made in Customizing.
All other characteristics are the same. As a result, the system issues a message that a duplicate entry has been made.
If the "Reference document number" had been selected in Customizing, the system would have checked the document and discovered that it was different from the invoice entered earlier, so it would not have issued a message.
Checking FI documents
Depending on the entry in the field "Reference", one of the following checks is carried out:
1. If a reference number was specified in the sequential invoice/credit memo, the system checks whether an invoice/credit memo has been posted where all the following attributes agree:
Company code
Vendor
Currency
Document date
Reference number
2. If no reference number was specified in the sequential invoice/credit memo, the system checks whether an invoice/credit memo has been posted where all the following attributes agree:
Company code
Vendor
Currency
Document date
Amount in document currency
