InDesign CS2 - don't want to ignore Whitespace elements

Hi,
I am working of InDesign CS2 on XP-SP2, while doing manual XML import i can successfully uncheck "Do not import contents of whitespace-only elements" but i can't do the same using script....
I am using following chunk of script in CS2 which doesn't work with ESTK2.
mydoc.xmlImportPreferences.ignoreWhitespace = false;
I noticed this works well with CS3 plugins in CS2. I need to resolve this with CS2 only. Let me know if you have any clue.
Thanks.

Under Document Offset, specify the number of lines that are to be ignored at the beginning of the document.
This enables you to skip comment lines or column names during processing. If you do not make an entry, the default value is zero lines.

  • I don't seem to have View anymore. I can't fix my screen. Why is Mozilla deciding that I should ignore threads. I don't want to ignore threads. I can't fix this

    I am really distressed that Mozilla apparently unilaterally decided I should not see all my threads. I DO want to see all my threads. In fact, one reason I don't get my mail from a website is that I don't like my messages grouped according to threads.
    The instructions given in the Ignoring Threads article do not seem to match my computer. Here are the instructions: "To ignore a thread you select Message | Ignore Thread, or simply use the K (for "kill") keyboard shortcut." I don't see "View" or "Message" or "Ignore Thread." How can I fix this?
    (And please, Mozilla, stop making decisions for me. )

    View is in two places.
    First on the menu bar where it always has been. The menu bar is hidden in the newer versions of Thunderbird. Pressing the alt key or F10 reveals hidden toolbars.
    There is a new AppMenu button located in the upper right of the screen. It is a square area with 3 horizontal lines. View is located here also.
    Thunderbird is software that runs on your computer. It is configured by you.

    Hi gurus!
    In my sender communication channel I specified Document Offset = 1 to spent the first row in file(header)
    But it doesn't work.

  • How do I stop the grouping of emails into threads when I don't want to ignore subsequent emails.

    I would like to have emails come in and stand individually, not grouped with other emails in the same thread but can't find the setting to do this.

    Gosh, that was so easy and I thought I had looked there already. Surprised the solution didn't come up when I did my search for answers. Thanks so very much.

    If you are unable to enter the passcode into your device, you will have to restore the device to circumvent that passcode.
    Is the music purchased from iTunes? If it is you can contact iTunes support and ask them to allow you to re-download the music that you purchased from iTunes.
    Also, do you sync the device regularly? When syncing an iPod Touch/iPhone a backup file is made. That backup file doesn't contain your music but it does contain your address book, application data, pictures, notes, etc. After restoring your device, you can try restoring from the last backup that was made of your device so you will not have to start over completely from scratch.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I purchase a serial key for InDesign CS 5.5? (I don't want CS6)

    Can anyone from Adobe tell me where I can buy a serial key for my InDesign CS 5.5? I already have the program and earlier purchased the other CS 5.5 programs, I don't want the CS 6 version. Seems impossible to locate on the Adobe homepage - help appreciated!

    Adobe's online store only sells licenses for the current versions of their products.
    You may be able to find a retail (boxed) version from a third-party reseller, but given how long CS6 has been around I doubt it.

  • I downloaded the free trial of Creative Cloud.  But now I don't want it and can't access my InDesign

    That trial is now over and I can not return to my old files in InDesign.  It keeps taking me to a page asking me to purchase the Creative Cloud for $29.99 a month.  I don't want it.  I just want my InDesign to work again.  Anyone?  Please help.  I need those files. Thanks.

    But I bought the program - years ago
    Can you describe more completely what that means? What version?

  • TS3367 I don't want to update and even if i did, i don't have enough memory. I use facetime a lot so is this problem going to be fixed or just ignored??

    We've been told to update to fix the facetime problem. But the update changes the phone completely which i don't want. Plus i don't have the memory. So are you going to fix this or just take the easy route by telling people to update???!!!

  • InDesign CS2 Help with Bullets

    Hi,
    I'm having a small issue with bullets in InDesign CS2.
    I have them all aligned correctly except I can't seem to figure out how to leave a line space in between each bullet...
    eg.
    lsekfjsldkfjsdjf
    slkdjskdjlksjd
    I have my text justified with the last line aligned to the left, I tried deleting the bullet and putting in a soft return but this makes the last line of each bullet stretch right to the end of the line which looks funny.
    Does anyone know how to fix this? I hope that makes sense... if it doesn't email me at [email protected] and I will send you a screenshot.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jen

    The problem, as I see it, is that when you insert an extra return
    between automatically bulleted items, you get an automatic bullet that
    you don't want. The simple fix is to put in an extra return but turn off
    Bullets for that paragraph (yes, anything that ends with a return,
    including just an empty return, is a paragraph in this case).
    A better way to create vertical space is to use Space Before instead of
    spacing with extra returns. Space Before or Space After the paragraph
    will disappear when the space happens to fall at the top or bottom of a
    page.
    Even better would be to define your bulleted list item in a style,
    complete with bullet and space above.

  • Don't want column width in new document window

    Suddenly, and I can't determine why, my InDesign CS2 has started putting column width as an option in the New Document window. It didn't used to do that. I don't want that to be there. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Xerces2 does not report ignorable whitespace with schemas

    I use JDK 1.3 with the Summer 02 XML pack, i. e. JAXP 1.2_01, but I also tried the current Xerces2 2.2.0.
    When I parse XML files and validate them against a schema (using SAX; namespaceAware, validation and schemaValidation all set to TRUE of course), parsing and validation work all right except for whitespace being reported via characters() instead of ignorableWhitespace(). I heard of similar problems from someone who uses DOM, so the problem apparently does not lie in SAX.
    I did a lot of searching on the topic, and it's not one of the common things like "you have to supply a grammar" or "you have to switch on validation". Xerces2 documentation says the parser has to be able to recognize ignorable whitespace as such. Thing is, when I supply a DTD instead of a schema, everything works fine.
    My XML schema is pretty complex, so I took one from w3schools.com for testing:
    The schema:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    targetNamespace="http://www.w3schools.com"
    xmlns="http://www.w3schools.com" elementFormDefault="qualified">
    <xs:element name="note">
         <xs:complexType>
              <xs:sequence>
                   <xs:element name="to" type="xs:string"/>
                   <xs:element name="from" type="xs:string"/>
                   <xs:element name="heading" type="xs:string"/>
                   <xs:element name="body" type="xs:string"/>
              </xs:sequence>
         </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>The DTD:
    <!ELEMENT note (to, from, heading, body)>
    <!ELEMENT to (#PCDATA)>
    <!ELEMENT from (#PCDATA)>
    <!ELEMENT heading (#PCDATA)>
    <!ELEMENT body (#PCDATA)>The XML:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <note xmlns="http://www.w3schools.com"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.w3schools.com note.xsd">
         <to>Koch</to>
         <from>Heckler</from>
         <heading>Reminder</heading>
         <body>Lunch at 12!</body>
    </note>This is the XML with the reference to the schema. Validates fine, but reports the tabs and line feeds as characters. When I change the XML to reference the DTD, I get my characters() calls. Since I suspected my code, I also tried all that with the DocumentTracer sample program supplied with Xerces2. Same behaviour, no ignorableWhitespace() calls when using schema.
    So what is it? Is there a special way to mark up whitespace in XML schema? I don't think so. By now I suspect Xerces2 to be responsible for the problem. I'm not too experienced on the subject, but AFAIK XML schema is fairly new, and so is Xerces2. Just wanted to ask around befor stirring trouble at Apache...

    Did you guys ever find a solution for this problem.
    I didn't have this problem with DTD's.
    Also, I noticed that when parsing using SAX parser, resolveentity callback used to get fired even if the validation was set to false( in case of DTD's).
    But don't see that happening when using XSD's.
    Thanks

  • 10.4.6 + InDesign CS2 =  Total Disaster.  PLEASE HELP.

    After installing 10.4.6 my Adobe InDesign CS2 no longer works. It crashes every time I start it up. I've repaired permissions, cleared caches and troubleshooted the system fonts folder. No luck. PLEASE HELP. I'm missing deadlines, losing money and sweating bullets.
    I can't believe Apple wouldn't test this update on all Adobe Design Apps and end up alienating their core audience. Shocking.
    Any advice or fix for this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    G5 Dual Core 2.3   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    The one thing you should have done was create a clone of your system hard drive on a firewire external disk, then you could have booted from that and kept working then returned to deal with the 10.4.6 problems later when deadlines aren't looming. Remember that for next time.
    There should be no problem running IDCS2 in 10.4.6, something else is wrong. Get Disk Warrior and run repairs.
    If necessary do an Archive and Install of Tiger, then a full update to 10.4.6 (Repairing Permissions before and after everything), then reinstall InDesign (test InDesign after the Archive and Install first, it might be fixed just from that). This is practically a sure thing so if deadlines are getting tight you might just want to go right for this instead of messing around with other fixes first.
    And whatever you do get an external firewire drive and SuperDuper! and make a clone of your drive so everything is backed up and you always have a fail-safe system to fall back on.

  • Exporting a inDesign CS2 File to Illustrator CS2 and Preserving LInks

    Hi,
    I have 3 InDesign CS2 files that have several links which have been modified withing the file. The printer needs these files in Illustrator format with the links preserved, so they can swap images, adjust colors and such.
    I am having a problem exporting these files to Illustrator CS2 while preserving the links.
    I have tried exporting as hirez PDF/X-1a as well as a EPS. They both embedd all the files. When I go to relink everything the images come in as their original form as expected and I find I have to reformat every image which is very time consuming.
    I don't want to spend hours trying to relink everything for each package, so I was wondering if there was a way I would be able to export them while preserving all my images as links to Illustrator. Is that even possible? Is there an option in CS3 perhaps? I am willing to upgrade if necessary.
    Please Help!

    My boss is in charge of talking to the client and the printer. I am the designer asked to post this question to see if there was another way besides spending hours adjusting these files. I believe he is going to try and convince him otherwise looks like I will be relinking and adjusting for a while to give them what they want.

  • InDesign CS2 background export to pdf

    I'm using inDesign CS2 and want to export a file to pdf that has a grid background. I setup the grid in the CS2 preferences, but when I export the file, I don't get the grid background. I have tried a few things with the Adobe PDF presets > Define, but with no luck.
    It's a houseplan that shows up fine in the pdf, but with out the background grid.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    John

    Although InDesign (any version) PDF export provides for exporting the baseline grid (except for PDF/X export), there is no provision for exporting the document grid. If you want a grid to be output, it would probably make sense to manually create a grid on your master page(s).

  • InDesign CS2 printing issue with 10.6

    I've just got my ir C2880 printing thanks to help on another thread but...
    Printing from InDesign CS2 to this printer I am getting an error message:
    Printing Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem.
    Any hints?

    As others have stated - This is a problem with 10.6.5 overwriting boot.efi (Which PGP modified in 10.0.0 and above with pgpboot.efi).
    This is a fairly easy fix, and was provided in the PDF cited above. For those that don't want to wait, here are the instructions provided:
    *1. Insert your Mac OS X CD.*
    *2. Boot to your Mac OS X CD.*
    *3. Do not install Mac OS X; instead, from the Utility Menu, select "Terminal."*
    *4. Type the following command: +diskutil list+*
    You will need to note the disk identifier for the boot partition for your system disk. The boot partition is named "Boot OSX" and is the partition immediately following your system disk. For example, if your system disk is disk0s2, you should find a boot partition with the name "Boot OSX" with the identifier disk0s3.
    *5. Type the following command: +diskutil mount <bootpartition>+*
    *Where <bootpartition> is the disk identifier you learned from issuing the previous command. This will mount the boot partition for your system disk.*
    Example:
    Diskutil mount disk0s3
    Note: You may need to take note of certain disk information during this
    process, so PGP Corporation recommends having writing materials available
    to you before you begin.
    *6. Navigate to the CoreServices boot directory. This directory is located at the following path: +cd "/Volumes/Boot OSX/System/Library/CoreServices"+*
    *7. Copy pgpboot.efi to boot.efi. To do this, type the following command:*
    *+cp pgpboot.efi boot.efi+*
    *8. Select Terminal > Quit Terminal.*
    *9. Select Installer > Quit and choose to restart.*
    You should now see the PGP passphrase prompt and if you successfully enter your passphrase, your system will boot correctly.
