Indesign CS3 .indd icons not displaying correctly in Windows 7 64 bit.

GDay InDesign Gurus.
Ive just recently moved over to Windows 7 64 bit and have noticed that my InDesign .indd file icons are being displayed as a blank file type instead of the IND icon type. The .indd files open up correctly in InDesign upon double clicking so the issue is more of a convenience one. I have checked that the file association has been set to InDesign which is all ok as the files open up fine just there is no IND icon displayed in the file; my Photoshop and Illustrator files are all fine and display correctly but it would be nice if I could easily see my .indd files.
Ive searched the web for a solution but have not been able to fine one associated to Windows 7 64 bit.
Any help you guys can provide would be highly appreciated.
Thanks guys.

  • InDesign 6 Interactive Buttons Not Displaying Correctly in Acrobat X

    Forgive me if this has been asked. When I create interactive buttons in InDesign 6, their display is erratic in Acrobat X. Sometimes they display correctly. Sometimes, their display is erratic and sometimes they do not display at all. I have noticed that in Acrobat X, the cursor changes to the hand over the correct area, but nothing happens when I click. Oddly enough, the buttons always display correctly in Reader. This is fine for my users but makes my job in doing the final prep very difficult.

    I’ve seen this reported in this past. It’s not an InDesign issue or the files wouldn’t work in Reader.
    If you get any answers in the Acrobat forum, please come back and share them.

  • Website Icons not displaying Correctly on FF8.0

    Dear Support,
    After upgrading to the latest FF8.0, I noticed that some of the bookmarked websites in my bookmark toolbar don't display their icons correctly.
    for e.g.: I have Cisco.com at bookmark toolbar. Instead of displaying Cisco's logo next to the website name, I'm getting an empty dashed square.
    Kindly advise
    Regards
    Michel

    The MOST common cause of sites not displaying properly in any browser is the invalid code on the page -

  • Columns in Dreamweaver CS3 Template Pages Not Displaying Correctly in IE8

    I have a site that has most pages created with a template page that displays three columns below the navbar (counting a small column to the left for the logo at the top the table has four columns).  The home page (index.html - not from the template) displays the same colums as the template pages correctly, but all the pages created with the template show the first column as way to wide and the next two columns as far too narrow.
    I have trawled the internet to find a solution, but as my knowledge of HTML is limited it is proving near impossible for me to even find a relevant forum topic, let alone a workable solution.  All I want is for the template pages with three visible columns below the navbar to display the same widths as those in index.html.
    I am working on a mac and the pages all preview fine in Safari, Firefox etc, but not in IE8 on Windows 7 machines.
    I have tried rather indelicately to shove various bits of code in to fix the width of the columns and render such commands as table-layout=fixed etc, but with absolutely no effect.
    The site is: www.southoverfoods.com
    If anyone can help I will be grateful.

    You do want to fix these errors -
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.southoverfoods.com%2Fabout.html&charset =%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
    Most are straightforward.
    If you view the page in IE9, and click on the compatibility icon, the rendering looks right.  Unfortunately, I cannot force that rendering with any of the accepted meta tag usages!
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" />
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE8" />
    So I'm a little puzzled what to do....

  • Icons Not displaying correctly in Bridge 6

    in bridge 6. Image Icons in layered psd images do not show changes I have made – for example added or deleted layers.
    Also some image icon as above shows just the first layer, not added layers. I open the image in cs6 and it is correct.  The correct image is saved and working; but the icon does not show the correct image.
    Of 30 images I have worked on over the weekend there are only two in the folder that do not show correctly. The files are not bigger/smaller than the correct ones and all of them are psd.  Any ideas? Thanks, Bob

    Assuming with Image icons you mean the thumbnails in the content panel and that you are using Bridge CS 6 (which has Bridge version 5)?
    The short route to check is selecting one one the problem thumbnails and with right mouse click from the menu choose 'purge cache for selection'.
    If this works then go to the menu tools / cache / purge cache for folder and you should be OK.
    If not you have to provide more details about computer specs, OS version and exact Bridge version

  • FileMaker Pro icons not displaying correctly

    After updating to Yosemite, all of my FileMaker Pro document icons are displayed as generic icons (juts the outline of a piece of paper). This occurs both in Finder and on the Dock.
    Other document icons seem okay. If I do a Get Info on a document, the icon seems okay in the Get Info window.
    Does anyone know how to correct this behavior?
    Thanks!

    Thanks, coreworksnet.
    I was also seeing this problem with FM 13. I was able to get around it, but it was a headache. I had to go into each individual DB file and do a Get Info. That dialog shows the icon for the document (which, strangely enough, showed the correct icon). I then copied the icon over from the FM app (which visually did nothing). But once I closed the Get Info dialog, the icon for the DB file was correct.
    Repeat a few dozen times for all of my DB files, and it seems okay now.

  • Icons not displaying correctly getting text instead.

    I have tried all options that I have found on your forum with no luck. I went as far as resting my Firefox to default with no success.
    Using MAC 10.8.5
    My setting are set up correct - Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above is checked.
    I also rest this as well
    gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled
    So far no luck I am still getting text instead of the icons.

  • Brush icon not displaying correctly

    Hi folks,
    I just installed CS4 on a lovely new Dell notebook with WUXGA display (1920x1200) and am having a problem that I have never seen before. When the brush tip is small (up to 35 px at 100%)  I see the entire circle defining it, but as I move into larger and larger tip sizes the circle starts to disappear from the bottom right, becoming just a smaller and smaller circular fragment until it disappears entirely at around 300 px. If I select the center crosshair, this also disappears around 200px (when only a small circular crescent is left), and then reappears at around 400px (minus any trace of the circle).
    It is obviously some sort of display issue: if I change the image size the behavior is the same when the circle is the same size onscreen, so it is the display size and not the absolute pixel size which determines it. This happens whether I choose normal or full-size tip.
    Has anyone experienced this? It is not only annoying, it is positively serious, since at certain sizes I cannot even tell where or how large the brush is.
    Clear type on or off makes no difference. I have not noticed any odd display behavior with any other program.
    Any suggestions most welcome.
    Toby

    This was a very common fault in the early days of CS4.
    You need to update to Version 11.0.1 and get the latest video drivers.
    You might have to experiment with OpenGL settings in the preferences too.

  • InDesign CS4 page numbering not displaying correctly in Pages Panel

    Hello,
    I searched the forums for a solution to my problem before posting. I am sorry if I'm doubling someone's question but here I go:
    I noticed this problem I have about 6 month ago. When I create a simple document with automatic page numbering everything is fine. When I try and create a section (i.e. I want my numbering to start at 1 at page 3) it actually works however in the Pages Panel the pages are displayed with their basic numbers. You will agree this is rather confusing. I've tryed different files, same files on different computers and so on. The problem has to do with my installation of InDesign CS4 and I suppose it's some kind of a display option I accidentally turned on.
    Could someone please suggest a solution? Thank you!

  • InDesign CS5.5 fonts not displaying correctly when applying styles

    Hi there,
    My problem is this - I've set up character and paragraph styles in a document. Yesterday everything in the document was working as expected. Today I open the file and some of the fonts are displaying incorrectly ie instead of a selection of type being bold (where a character style has been applyed) the whole paragraph is now bold and doesn't respond to having the character style removed.
    There are no error messages, the program loads, doesn't crash, did go slow but I resaved all the linked files and it moved along at it normal speed - it is quite a complicated document. Other files seem to behave, so I thought it might be a corrupt file. However when I tried to save to IDML  the process was interminable, so I cancelled it (tried this several times and with a simplified file - removed all the images).
    I've cleaned out the font caches.
    I  trashed the program preferences.
    Hope somebody out there has a idea.
    Thanks

    Most likely reasons for what you are seeing is the paragraph has the bold style assigned to the whole thing as a character style (maybe nested without a valid end trigger?), or the basic character attibutes of the paragraph style were changed to bold. Slightly less likely is that you managed to apply Bold to the whole paragraph as a local override (which owuld show up as a + sign next to the paragraph style name).

  • Dreamweaver CS3 menu icons not displaying

    I just recently reinstalled my OS X and CS3 Suite with the original CDs because there were some issues with Illustrator unexpectedly closing before it had even opened the desired file. The reinstalls went without problem on all applications in the suite except Dreamweaver; the application menu icons are now replaced "broken image link" icons, and my ftp connect button has disappeared as well.
    Here is a screen shot of what I'm looking at in the Dreamweaver interface:
    http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e120/wbelyea/Screenshot2011-04-28at123001PM.png
    I have tried repairing/reinstalling the application by itself and the entire suite, but I am still getting the same result, and only in Dreamweaver.
    I have also tried clearing the .plist file and cache, but that hasn't helped either.
    Has anyone heard of this happening before? I've had a difficult time finding anything similar on the forums.
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    I've just repaired permissions(without issue), and did a quick Disk Verify after that, this what came back:
    Invalid volume file count
    (It should be 615725 instead of 615726)
    Invalid volume directory count
    (It should be 173801 instead of 173800)
    The volume Hugonaut HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired.

    [could this be the cause of the issue?]
    Yes that could definitely be the root of the issue. Put your OSX disc or disc that came with your Mac and boot up to that.  Run the disk repair utility from the menu at the top of the screen (you don't need to re-install OSX).  See if it can be fixed.
    And just a friendly reminder, make a backup of really important data before doing too much more.

  • InDesign CS5.5 does not display fonts correctly

    InDesign CS5.5 does not display Futura fonts correctly. I have removed all versions of Futura from FontBook on my Mac (running Mac OSX 10.7.4) but CS5.5 - Indesign, Illustrator & photoshop - still displays Futura as being open but only InDesign does not display the font correctly. The font displays correctly when I open InDesign CS4 and all other versions of Illustrator and Photoshop.  I really need to use this font. What's going on with InDesign?

    In your first screen shot , there are 2 futura font ,one is Adobe Type 1 font and the second one is True Type, you might have installed both the type of the font on your computer sometime. Now you have removed all the futura font and it is still showing in the Indesign , also the same thing happened with the Minion Pro , seems to me the font cache is not updating.
    First remove the Adobe Font cache's file:-
             At the Finder, choose File > Find.
             Type AdobeFnt.lst, select the system drive, and then press Return.
             Delete all AdobeFnt.lst files found (for example, AdobeFnt10.lst).
    then clear system font cache  :-
    Launch Terminal (from /Applications/Utilities)
    Enter the following command at the prompt and press Return: sudo atsutil databases -remove
    Restart your computer immediately
    and check

  • Gradient fill not displayed correctly after applying a rotation angle

    Hello,
    I've created a rectangleframe and applied a gradient fill, and afterwards I have applied a rotation of -90 to the gradient fill. After the rotation the gradient does not display correctly anymore (after saving the document to .idml I've noticed that the property GradientFillLength was not recalculated after rotation). Is there a command to force the update or am I missing something? This problem occurs in InDesign CS3/CS4.
    Thank you
    UIDList targetList(m_SplineUIDRef);
    InterfacePtr<ICommand> applyCmd(Utils<IGraphicAttributeUtils>()->CreateFillRenderingCommand(
                    gradientUid, &targetList, kTrue, kTrue));
    CmdUtils::ProcessCommand(applyCmd);
    InterfacePtr<ICommand> angleCmd(Utils<IGraphicAttributeUtils>()->CreateGradientFillAngleCommand(
                    gradientAngle, &targetList, kTrue, kTrue));
    CmdUtils::ProcessCommand(angleCmd);

    Thanks. I saw those threads but this is not that issue. I really think that this is a bug in the latest update for illustrator.
