Indesign CS4 suddenly crashes down when I click on "edit" or try help. Can anyone help?
Hello,
I am still using Indesign CS4 (Version 6), so far no problem, but since new Macbook with Yosemite several Problems, also with Illustrator.
I cannot print from Indesign, so far just printing the PDFs, thats possible.
Since today I cannot use the software at all, as I cannot click on "edit" anymore. The software immediately crashes down when I click.
Searched the internet, someone told sth about "Zusatzmodule", but it also crashes down when I search for sth in the "help".
Can anyone here help me?
Kind of devistated, because its my business, need to work with InDesign...
thanks
P.
I'm sorry to say this but Yosemite and CS4 are incompatable. You're now five versions behind the current on InDesign, and CS4 was never tested with Yosemite.
You should seriously consider upgrading to either CS6 (perpetual license) or get a Creative Cloud subscription for your business.

Hello everyone!
My 16months old 12" PowerBook suddenly crashed last time when I was working with it. I didnt do anything particularly challenging. The PB didn't get extremely slow or anything. All of a sudden it just turned down within a second. and the display went black. By the way, it was not running on battery but over power cord.
Then right away after crashing there was this weird high-pitched sound coming from the backside of the PB. When I tried to turn it back on the sound muted, still the PB wouldn't go back on.
It felt as if it wast all the way shut down, and not really on either.
I tried the key combination shiftoption+applepower button (or whatever it was) to restart it, but it didnt work.
so I took off the power adapter cord, and took out the battery.
After putting the battery back in i was able to turn the PB back on.
All this happened 3 times now.
very weird and very frightening!! Does anyone have a clue?? Can anyone help???
PLEEEASE!!
thanx.
PowerBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.4) 1.33 GHz, 512 MB, Mini-DVIThat's not much to go on, but here are a couple of guesses that may lead you in the right direction:
1) The high pitched noise could have been a fan dying, followed by the CPU overheating and the system shutting itself off to prevent damage. If you left it sitting for a couple of hours and it rebooted okay (or started to), and then crashed again shortly thereafter then it's probably a fan.
2) If now the system sounds and feels like it's booting up normally, but with nothing on the screen at all, the lamp (not sure what the technical term is) for the LCD could have gone bad. This happened to me a while back. If you have an external monitor available, try plugging it in and see if the machine comes up on that display.
Either way you're almost certainly going to want to take it in to be serviced. Best of luck! -

GPU panics on your 15-inch Mid 2010 MacBook Pro can be indicative of a known defect in its NVIDIA GPU. This problem is acknowledged by Apple, and they had a gratis servicing of the problem for three years from the date of purchase. They will still service the problem, but it is no longer guaranteed to be gratis. -
I have not been able to open up Lightroom on my computer for over a year now. Whenever I double click on it, this comes up - can anyone help? Problem signature: Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:lightroom.exe Application Version:3.4.1.10
First thing to try is the latest version of Lightroom (currently 5.6). If it don't crash, then problem solved - upgrade.
If Lr5 won't run on your machine, then Lr4 instead.
If both Lr5 and Lr4 crash on your machine, then at least you know it's a not a Lightroom version problem but something wonked in your system.
If you can't figure out how to resolve the crash on the system you have, then it's time for a new system (or try another converter/editor app).
PS - A few things to try:
* After re-installing new version, if that doesn't fix it, then get rid of all Lightroom-related data files (rename them so they can be restored), in case problem is in Lr data file.
* Remove all non-essential hardware in case problem is hardware/driver.
* Startup up machine with minimal software services.
* If still no go, consider updating driver software, including mainboard drivers and/or bios firmware if need be.
* Of course run all the system hardware and software diagnostics you can - problem could be failing disk or ram..
* Check system event logs for any clues.
If you don't know how to do some of these things - ask.
Do not say "you've tried everything" unless you want a lecture - there is most definitely something you haven't tried. It's like when you can't find your car keys - you haven't looked everywhere - there is somewhere you haven't looked!
PS - Has Lightroom EVER worked on your machine? what's changed since then..
Good luck,
Rob -

Indesign CS4 OSX crash, usually when opening
Hi,
I'm running with latest osx and Indesign patches (clean install), but this happening 3-4 times per hour: com.apple.launchd.peruser.503[133] ([0x0-0x5f05f].com.adobe.InDesign[1851]): Job appears to have crashed: Bus error
I uploaded one crash report:
http://pastebin.com/CYuf7rWi
(I found a related know bug in 6.0.6 update release notes
"Known issues include the following:
Users are unable to hide InDesign CS4 using the cmd+h keyboard shortcut.
InDesign CS4 may unexpectedly quit when using the Place, Save, Save As or Export commands using either the OS or Adobe dialog boxes.
To address these issues, download Mac OS X Leopard v10.5.6 or later from Apple’s web site."
but i have 10.6.8.)
Thanks for your help!

That said, I have no idea why it's crashing, perhaps John will...
Well, this one is weird. If there wans't any narrative, I would have thought that the eyedropper tool was being clicked (LButtonUp in frame 14) and then it was failing somehow related to reading/writing attributes from the eyedropper.
It doesn't sound like that's what you're doing.
CS4 is getting kind of old, you might think about upgrading. Or at least trying with the free trial to see if CS5.5 works better for you?
Sorry I dont have anything better right now... -
IPhoto 11 keeps crashing when importing. I need a fix. Can anyone help?
I have an older mac that is running Lion. I had to upgrade my memory to run Lion. I am now running 4gb of memory. I have my iPhoto library on an external hard drive. When I go to import photos whether from a camera, iPad, iPod Touch, it shuts down iPhoto. I can bring up iPhoto and see all of my photos and I can even burn photos to a disk or flash drive. But I am at a loss about importing.
I have been reading other threads about 3ivx and uninstalling it. But I don't have it. I have searched high and low for it on my Mac but have found nothing relating to 3ivx.
Can anyone help me? I am frustrated. Thank you.Process:

i am so tired. Have used many hours now to find a way to get my fotos from my Iphone to my PC'er (windows 7). I have downloaded Icloud, but I cannot aktivate "foto" When I click on icloud there comes a window, where it seems that I can click on foto. But within sekonds the 3. (foto) possibility freezes and the vindow sort of changes: You can still se the choice "Foto" but it cannot be activated. Can anyone help, please!
Thanks for the link to your system.
You have a Combination BluRay and Surround System that includes WIRELESS Rear Speakers:
Rear wireless ready: Yes, 5.1ch wireless system included, 7.1ch wireless option with purchase of SH-FX67 + SB-HS100A
This could account for why the BluRay is generating interference with your wireless network signal.
You can go thru the process of changing the wireless channels and other changes to the Verizon Actiontec Router or hook up your old router which was working before you switched to FIOS.
FIOS has a Superior Product over any cable system and I would hate to see you leave over something that was out of their control.
By the way, looking at the picture of the rear connections for your Panasonic you would want to have an Optical Toslink cable go from the back of the Verizon HD Set Top Box (Optical Out) to the Optical In jack on the back of the Panasonic. This connection will provide you with Dolby Digital sound (If Broadcast by Channel) while you are watching TV. You may need to switch inputs on the Panasonic Remote to get this to work. You may also have an Optical Out jack on the TV that could be connect as well if you are using an HDMI Cable.
Your Verizon STB would be connected to the TV by either HDMI, Component, Composet, or Coax (Highest Quality to Lowest Quality). The HDMI would also provide sound to your TV so that it's internal speakers would work if desired.
If you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to click the "Solution?" button so that others can more easily find it.
If anyone has been helpful to you, please show your appreciation by clicking the "Kudos" button. -

I have an infuriating problem with Elements 4 crashing immediately after an install on mac OSX 10.4.11, can anyone help ?
I was given the computer, which still had Elements 4 on it although it always crashed on opening, i removed the program and bought a 2nd hand hard copy of Elements 4 from eBay.
When i install the new copy it opens up with the "credits" but at the bottom right it still shows the past owners name as licensee briefly, then crashes before fully opening.
Does anyone know what is going on? I know it's an old version but i find elements4 perfect for my needs
Thankyou for reading.
SimonMore information needed. Are you saying you're just running the computer from the PO's user account? I would very strongly recommend erasing the disk and starting over with a fresh install of OS X for a number of reasons.

my ipod isnt turning on but it still makes a noise when i plug it into the charger can anyone help me?
Hey there cameronw99,
It sounds like you are unable to see your iPod Touch screen, as it stays black but it makes the connection tone when you plug in the USB cable. Use these steps to resolve the issue with the iPod from the following article:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
chttp://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,

I have solved my own problem !
If you go to the security serttings under your windows/outlook settings page and TURN OFF 2 step verification then you can login using your normail hotmail password.
If you have 2 step verification switched on, your IPAD cannot prompt you for a security code so it gets "stuck" I guess. Once I turned this off, I was able to add my hotmail back to the IPAD .... HOORAY -
Itunes seems to be crashing 9 times out of ten when i open the movies tab to view my films. When it finally stops crashing i realize My pad is not recognized by itunes while plugged in via usb on the mac. It still charges but itunes doesn't see it. HELP ME PLEASE !
Thanks GuysI just tonight restarted and logged into my Mac after this upgrade being applied. I discover that I am completely unable to play back song samples in the iTunes store. The first time I double-clicked an item, I got the immediate gray-screen "You must restart now." After restarting, I tried again, and this time it didn't even crash gracefully...the top third of my screen display has been overlaid with Linux-level white-on-black text, explaining the Darwin kernel's inability to cope with whatever the f*&k just happened. "Frame not mapped or invalid" was the gist of the message.
Good thing I have my Windows machine here to login and complain...
