Indesign CS5 ne crée plus de fichier "AdobeFnt13.lst"

Bonjour,

  • Can I upgrade to inDesign CS5 WITHOUT installing Pagemaker 6.5 plus?

I'm on Windows Vista 64 and I need inDesign CS5. Since Vista won't let me install my Pagemaker 6.5 plus, I was wondering if I can just input the licence from Pagemaker.
    Thanks

It means that there is more than one upgrade. You can upgrade from earlier versions of InDesign or from Pagemaker. These have the same price but if you buy the InDesign upgrade from earlier versions of InDesign it won't accept your PM serial number.
You need to buy the correct PM to InDesign upgrade package which will prompt you for a Pagemaker serial number when installing.
Is that a bit more clear?

  • Paramétrage liens dans fichier SWF depuis Indesign CS5

    Bonjour,
    Merci d'avance.

I don't know the answer to this poster's question but I can offer a translation...
    "Hello:
I am installing the trial version of Indesign CS5, and I am attempting to create interactive documents using SWF.  I would like to know how to set it up so that when I click on a link in my final SWF file, it opens directly in the navigator. [web browser? not sure]
I've been told that it's necessary that I authorize my flash player, and admittedly that works, but the question is: can I customize these hyperlinks upstream in Indesign in a way that those who click on the link directly open the URL without a Flash player message?
It's a little complicated to explain - I hope I've been clear enough.
    Thanks in advance"

  • InDesign CS5, à votre avis ?

    Bonjour,
        Loic

    Bonsoir Loic,
    • Fichier -> Importer
    • Glisser l'image depuis Bridge

  • InDesign CS5 lag slow on Snow Leopard 10.6

I am reaching the end of patience with this one and starting to wish i'd not paid for a CS5 upgrade.
I installed under Mac OS 10.5 originally, did all updates and had font and other deathly slow issues in Photoshop.
In the end, I enacted a TOTAL system maintenance routine and upgraded to System 10.6 in order to try and get round probs with CS5.
I since have ditched all prefs, reset all caches, cleared all logs, done total font checks and removed a couple of corrupt ones, repaired disk permissions etc etc etc....  Photoshop 'appears' to work ok, although saving and saving to web can be sluggish (pizza wheel waiting for it....)
InDesign CS5 is now taxing my productivity. I thought it was my Wacom Intuous 3 tablet, but find the issue (at the mo as I've not noticed anything significant yet in Illustrator or Photoshop) only occurs with InDesign CS5.
The issue is the glitchy interface - stepped or delayed movements of objects across the page, selecting menu dialogue boxes can take a second when i click on a value, slightly steppy movements make selecting the tiny up and down arrows on some menus very tricky to be accurate.  PLUS saving and saving PDFs in particular as well as PLACE images CMD-D can be deathly slow.  It used to be almost instaneous, slowed only by the hard drive firing up. Now i try to do things and have to wait on many actions. It's doing my head in!  This is NOT PRODUCTIVE.
In InDesign i have tried turning off Live Redraw, dropping display quality to fast (makes working almost impossible as i need to see what i'm doing), and disabled the Preflight option that is on by default, and i'm sure other options too i've seen on forums.  But no better.
I have a Quad Core 3Ghz Intel Mac with 14Gb RAM, and an NIVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT graphics card.
IS this APPLE or ADOBE issue?  How on earth can i get my speedy productivity back so i can move around the screen smoothly, save and place quickly, and select menu dialogues without waiting for it to react..... HELP!

thanks for the heads-up Peter.  Id not have thought to deactivate Adobe stuff first.
I've ordered a new WD Caviar Black (larger cache than i have on current drive) so a slight upgrade of drive, and as you say, a preserved backup.  I dont have any spare bays in my Mac as i've filled them with other drives used for backups and other stuff, so i may need to buy an external case for the SATA i'm taking out.  No matter, it will be sorted this weekend.
thanks all for help. fingers crossed this rather drastic step works!
Glad I thought of it. However, if you're keeping the drive, and don't have other installations, you can keep the backup drive installations active if you'll have a use for them if you boot from that drive. With your slow performance issues, you'll probably not want to use InDesign on that drive, but perhaps you'd want to use some other rarely-used apps from that drive. Yes, space, the final frontier.
OWC has USB drive adapters that work with many types of drives, including SATA, for about $30. They're open gizmos - no enclosure, no power supply, no fan, etc. They also have notebook-sized (2.5") drives up to 1TB  with USB portable enclosures under $200, less for smaller.
Consider an extra empty drive for use with Time Machine, as an ongoing automatic backup. It's very comforting. An alternative or supplement is yet another drive that you use with Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper, inexpensive shareware, that make complete and/or incremental backups, on demand or on schedule. I use Time Machine to back up a Time Capsule drive - wired or wirelessly - and CarbonCopy Cloner to back up to a portable USB drive that's Velcro'd onto the top case of my MacBook Pro.
Oh, and for suspenders to go with my two belts, or maybe that's a belt to go with my two suspenders, I also use Carbonite online backup - wirelessly or wired, about $5/month for unlimited storage. Their gotcha is that data is kept while it's on your drive, and then they delete it from your storage 30 days after you delete it from your drive. I had tried other online storage - Mozy, and some others, but at that time, about a year ago, they didn't work reliably. Probably better now. Not sure if they keep data after you delete it from your drive, or for how long after you delete it. I think also that some online storers define "unlimited" differently.

  • CS5 InDesign cannot open files in the InDesign CS5 document format

I'll be working in InDesign CS5 with no problems then at some point I'll double click on an InDesign file and a window comes up and says - InDesign cannot open files in the InDesign CS5 document format. Sometimes when this happens I have to completely reboot my whole system before I can get InDesign to function correctly. Is this a flaw with CS5? Did not happen with previous versions. It doesn't always happen but I can't figure out what causes it. Would appreciate anyones help. I'm getting to really HATE InDesign!!

I have not uninstalled and reinstalled, but I did just switch over to another workstation using Time Machine. The previous system was Leopard. This one is running Snow Leopard.
I'm not sure how to parse this. When you say "switch over to another workstaiton using Time Machine" do you mean, "started using another machine that happens to be using Time Machine for backups and is also running 10.6 instead of 10.5"?
Or do you mean, "Used the Time Machine program to upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6?" If you mean the second one, well, I can't say I am surprised that things are messed up. And that would make your problem rather different than the other posters, which is good reason for you to have started your own thread (and thus your own solution)....
I'm a little bit leary of getting in and changing things in Terminal, without understanding what I am changing. Plus this is a workstation at work, so if I screw something up, that is not a good things, and I don't have time to spend a day fixing things back up again, with the way our workload is.
Well, you can find a lot of marginal documentation about lsregister and Launch Services, but I wonder whether your understood the ramifications of messing with Time Machine (or maybe I have misinterpretted you!). I'd be surprised if you found another way to fix this, other than uninstall/reinstall.
    Good luck.

  • Problem downloading Adobe InDesign CS5.5 family

I have subscribed for Online Store Download of Creative Suite CS5. Download of instructions plus the actual product downloaded successfully. Now wanting to continue downloading other downloads seen in my downloads. One I just downloaded is called Adobe InDesign CS5.5 Family. To download without Akamai Manager I downloaded the file using the Alternate Download Method.
So the download now resides on my desktop and a folder is titled Contents. When I double-click it shows font family folders. How do I install them into InDesign? Do I drag the icon onto my InDesign Application Icon...
    Help most appreciative.

  • Problem using Adobe InDesign CS5 to prepare a PDF to upload to Magcloud:

I’m using the 30-day trial version of Adobe InDesign CS5.
I’ve downloaded the Magcloud template, created a document using InDesign CS5, exported it to PDF and uploaded it to Magcloud. Magcloud rejects my upload, saying it has the wrong number of pages. For example, if I create a 24-page document in InDesign, Magcloud thinks it has only 13 pages – front and back covers, plus 11 two-page spreads.
Details, please, on how to export from InDesign CS5 so that Magcloud will see the same number of pages that InDesign does.
    Thanks,
    RC

Sounds like you exported to PDF (Interactive) instead of choosing PDF (Print) from the dropdown or using one of the Print presets from File > Adobe PDF Presets...

  • Adding Audio and Video Content to EPUB from InDesign CS5.5 | CS5.5 Design Premium Feature Tour | Adobe TV

In this episode, Colin Fleming shows how simple it is to embed audio and video content in InDesign CS5.5 for export to EPUB.
    http://adobe.ly/xT0jKh

I have placed audio and video into InDesign. I did it just exactly the way this video told me. Everything works well in the preview panel. However, when I exported it to EPUB, the file of the EPUB is so small (I guess, it should have been larger because I had added video and audio file into it). Plus, When I open it in EPUB reader (ibook) and Adobe Digital Edition, It shows nothing.
What I want to do is to create an EPUB which contains image, and sound. I want to make the image as a button which plays sound when I click it. I did it by setting he button to play when clicked, but again, it is not showing at all when published to EPUB.
I hope that there will be a good solution to this matter.
    Thank You.

  • Newbie needs InDesign CS5 help: text overflow into new page

Hello...  so, I've been using InDesign CS5 to create a document, because it transfers nicely into the pdf format.  I had written most of the stuff a couple months ago, am transferring it to InDesign via copy and paste, and then have to go in an "re-do" the bolds and italics and hyper links etc, b/c it does not transfer those things to InDesign.  I can live with that.  However, with this 10+ page document, how can I copy all my text and paste it onto 10 pages+ of InDesign, rather than piece-by-piece on a page-by-page basis?
As of now, I have to take the first page of my original, and then copy and paste and estimate, add and subtract until the sizing is right...  and then I have to do that with page 2...  and page 3... and page 4.. and... well, you get the idea.  More than 10 pages of this!  Now, the straw breaking this camel's back is the fact that I have to go in and do a revision in one part...  so that I have to move and shift part of page 2 to page 3, and page 3 to page 4, and page 4 to page 5, and...   ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Is there ANY way to get text to simply overflow from one page to the next?  When you try to drag a text box down to the next page you've added, it stops at the bottom of the page and will not let you flow into the next page.  I am not particularly tech savvy and don't know coding or html or etc.  I am looking for a way to allow text to flow from one page to the next as if you were writing a Word doc.
I have 80 more pages and 7 more documents to do this with.  Please help!  I want to cry at the thought of dealing with this in every single 8 to 12 page document I'm recreating.

All is not lost for autoflow even using copy paste. Here's a nifty little trick that will help you:
ID does not require a text frame before you paste, so if you don't start with one, or don't use the one you've already drawn, ID will conveniently draw a 2" square text frame in the center of the screen if you issue a paste command. This frame will contain all of the copied text, but most of it will be overset (you'll see a red plus sign inthe "out port" on the lower right of the frame).
Overset text can be picked up and flowed using autoflow, just as if you were placing a text file, so use the selection tool (black arrow) to select that small text frame if it isn't already selected, then click the red plus sign to pick up the overset. You should now have a loaded text cursor that looks sort of like the upper left corner of a page. DON'T click it anywhere yet.
First press backspace to delete the small text frame (which should have remained selected). Now you can start your auto-flow holding the Shift key and clicking your loaded cursor wherever you like. All of the text, including what was visible in the now deleted frame is in the cursor waiting for you.

  • Création flipbook Offline Indesign CS5

    Bonjour,

    Cordialement,

  • InDesign CS5 and InCopy CS3

I work at a weekly newspaper, and we have been using and InDesign/InCopy workflow for several years. The Reporters use InDesign CS2 (never did get around to installing the CS3 upgrades we bought because at first the computers they use wouldn't handle it, and after the computer upgrades got done all around, no one ever bothered). After the stories are written, the editor reviews them in InCopy, then releases them to the page designers who are now working in InDesign CS3 as part of Standard and Premium Suites.
We are considering upgrading to InDesign CS5, but absolutely NONE of the reporters or the editor needs (or will ever use) the listed improvements included in InCopy CS5. Since there are nine InCopy products in the office, and as everyone knows the economy sucks - especially for PRINTED NEWSPAPERS these days, we really hate to have to upgrade just for upgrades sake.
I have downloaded InDesign CS5 trial to check if our CS3 files will open and work in it, after reading an article published in the Washington Newspaper, a publication put out by the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association, reported that one of the state's newspapers happily upgraded to CS5 and had a nightmare of problems just opening their CS4 files. This has my editor very nervious about us upgrading. So... I'm testing it out, and I can't place, then open and edit our CS3 Incopy Files. I get a message that says "this story needs toa be converted to "InCopy Document" format to edit it. I've saved it in InCopy CS3 to both incx and incd formats, and both receive the error. Has Adobe made simple InCopy files incompatible with InDesign? I can import files from just about everywhere BUT InCopy??? The Sister Program?
Please advise a simple work around, or I'll bet our upgrade is totally put off.
    Daria Lacy
    The Reflector

    Bob,
I have to feel that you aren't really reading my posts. While I did mention that our reporters and editor lessentially use InCopy for a word processing program, I did specifically mention in my last post that we use the program for exactly what it was originally intended, for reporters to write and edit, for designers to layout the text, and for writers/and or correction people to get into the files and fix problems - up until the last minute, so yes, we do need to use InCopy, in the manner we were told it was developed for. We don't use it for viewing layouts - that's what InDesign is for.
PLUS, none of our reporters have time, inclination or need to view the layout as it appears in InDesign. If they did, we'd get InDesign for them. They are busy investigating and writing stories, they don't have time to learn even the basics of layout, and frankly, they don't even want to. The one single reporter that is interested has learned some of the basics of InDesign, but she doesn't use it on a regular basis, and dosn't need or want to view the pages. She does need and want to edit a story occasionally even after it's been placed into the layout, but she want's to view it as the same copy she wrote, so she can do it quickly, not as a page layout she has to hunt thru it and every other story on the page to find the problem.
I don't mind Adobe stopping selling older versions - don't blame them at all on that one - if you're buying a new product - go buy the latest and greatest. If the version didn't matter, you wouldn't have to worry if about matching your other versions and you wouldn't need to find an old version. But why BUILD IN obselecense in a PART of a system within just a couple of years. We're using CS3 InDesign, yes, but we bought it just shortly before they came out with CS4. If we'd known when the release would be (we don't track the industry close enough to be checking on when release dates are "expected" to be) we'd have probably waited the 4 months and upgraded to that. But time wise, we haven't had the CS3 THAT long, so I don't go along with the "two versions back is too old" theory.
I'm afraid I don't quite see why the text fit would change from one version to another when the fit is based on font, text size, etc. And that doesn't change, Times Roman, 10.5 point on 10.7 leading...  And as far as split/span/balanced column features and mutiple page sizes - those aren't going to affect our work flow at all. All we need is the ability to write text, and edit that text from other desks besides the designers, as well as the designers being able to open the file to fix headline size in InDesign.
As for the reporters getting the trial version and trying it out - did you miss where I mentioned that we provided CS3 to all of them, and pretty much none of them bothered to load it onto their computers??? They don't want any bells and whistles. They want to keep going as they are going.
If they wanted to go to the latest and greatest - it'd wouldnt' be an issue - but they don't need or want it, why should they be forced to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading?
And that also brings up the issue, when we buy those 7 versions that aren't going on computers with InDesign (and the whole rest of the Standard and Design Suites) who wants to bet me that it's gonna take more hard drive space, more ram, and there's a huge potential that it ain't even going to fit on their computers and still leave room for it to think?
And just one other though - just because backwards incompatibility is a fact of life in today's programs - does that make it good or right?
What this basically means, with no specific NEED for the designers to upgrade to InDesign CS5, and the requirement that if they do we'll have to upgrade not only the reporter's versions of InCopy AND most probably, their computers, we will probably put off upgrading and wait another year and a half for CS6.

  • InDesign cs5 keeps crashing whenever I try to alter the footnote formatting via Type Document Footnote Option or Paragraph Styles using Span Columns

InDesign cs5 crashes whenever I try to alter the footnote formatting by going to Type > Document Footnote Option > and then I try to select a Paragraph style I've already set up. The Paragraph style I need to use includes Span Columns, which I think may be the issue. I think this because when I then I tried to create a new document and re-import the styles, it won't even let me add Span Columns feature to the Paragraph Style in question.
I can send screen shots of everything (e.g. dialog boxes) if that would be helpful in understanding the issue I'm having.

  • Impossibilité d'exporter en pdf (InDesign CS5)

    Bonjour,
