InDesign CS5, rendu des photos

bonjour,
cordialement

bonjour Benoit
merci, tu as vu juste encore une fois
bien cordialement

When the Photoshop and Illustrator files are placed in InDesign, they look blurry - whether viewed in InDesign, printed, or saved as a PDF. Can anyone give me some tips on how to fix this? Thanks!

  • Rendu et transcodage des photos panoramiques : horriblement long

    Bonjour,

  • Anchoring objects to text in InDesign CS5.0

    Hi,
I'm trying to convert a heavily styled book with lots of photos and charts to Kindle. When I export to Kindle, it's a mess. Is it possible to anchor objects to text in CS5? I know CS5.5 can do it, but I'm having a hard time figuring it out in CS5.
Any helpful hints for making this conversion as easy as possible ... and without knowing any HTML would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I highly recommend Elizabeth Castro's ebook to learn the basics of creating EPUB files—"EPUB Straight to the Point"
Formatting ebooks - EPUB Straight to the Point
Here is how she suggests you do it in InDesign CS5:
Place the cursor in the flow of your book where you want to illustration to go (at the beginning of a paragraph).
Press Return to create a separate paragraph for the illustration
Apply an Illustration paragraph style. She suggests setting autoleading so the paragraph expands to the height of the illustration.
Choose File > Place to place the illustration in that paragraph.
If you need a caption, press return to create a new paragraph and apply the Caption style.

  • InDesign CS5.5 crashes while applying Template to a page

    Hi,
We installed Adobe InDesign CS5.5. on 10 Windows XP SP3 32-bit workstations with 2 GB RAM. On every computer, when a user tries to apply a template to a page in a .indd document, InDesign immediately shuts down without displaying any error messages. Hi,
I am not sure if this is a "Master Page since we use a French version (the functionnality is  named "Gabarit" in French), so here is a printscreen which shows what our users try to do:
Immediately after the drop is completed, InDesign shuts down without further notice as described before.
I fully patched one machine to 7.5.3, rebooted it and it still does not work.
I know 2 GB is a little bit short, but since this is currently a corporate standard in my customer's organization, I will need to be sure that this is the direct and only cause before any upgrade request can be made.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Ghost image in InDesign CS5

I opened a file that was created in CS4 in InDesign CS5. I have been working on it for a few days. I am now on page 39 and I am encountering a very annoying and puzzling problem.
On that page, I had an image with a caption behing a text box that runs on the whole page. Wrapping for the image was set to wrap around.
Now in CS5, the text is OK but the image and caption are like ghosts - I cannot select them, delete them, edit them. They were on the same layer as the text, send to the back. When I make the layer invisible, the text, image and caption disappear so they are still on the same layer. I moved the tex box away and the image is there but untouchable. When I updated the image which I edited, the image updated but wrongly since I added some info on the bottom and now it is cut off. The image is still there unmovable!
How can I get this image to become accessible now or how can I delete it and start over?

In order to see the previous panel, the layer panel had to be opened and here is how it looks. There is no locked layer at all. The picture in on the top layer (green - labeled Text) When I hide the layer the text and photo disappear. So the photo is on the same layer as the text as I placed it. When I move the text out, the photo is there in the middle of the page but cannot be selected. The photo is not locked and was not locked earlier either. When I right click on the photo area, nothing happens because it cannot be selected. If it was locked, normally it still could be selected to unlock it. But it is not selectable. It is like a ghost but at the same time, since it was originally set to wrap around, when I move the text over it, it wraps around the box that I can otherwise not select.

  • , Page Numbering/TOC in InDesign CS5

Hi, I am using InDesign CS5 and need some help showing the page numbers for a section that will be added after printing.
I have almost completed a low volume 400+ page book (60 copies) and need some special numbering.
I am using 8 & 16pp signatures in this book. The first section is: Front Matter, the second section is for Front Text, the Center Section is a color photo album with 40pp (2-16pp & 1-8pp signatures), and the fourth section is Back Text.
The Center Section will be printed on a color printer and hand inserted at the binders. I have no problem with the numbering of all the sections, but I would like to have the center section to be included in the Table of Contents of the book. I could update the TOC manually but as I move things around that would be a lot of work and I might have errors later. I hope that I made this question clear enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would add the pages for the color section and any headings you want to include in the TOC, and simply not include it in the PDF you send to the the monochrome printer, and include only that section in a PDF for the color printer.

  • Indesign CS5 is automatically altering the appearance of RGB images on the screen?

I am working on the layout for a plant field guide. The photos are all RGB files and when placed into indesign they appear as they should. However on some pages (pages where there are lots of images) the colour automatically appears as if converted to CMYK. This appearance suddenly applys to the whole page and every image displayed.  If I drag one of these images which looks terrible in CMYK to the next page it goes back to looking like it does in RGB.
I have tried changing the colour management of the images in Photoshop and Indesign and saving files as every possible format (jpg, png, tiff, psd, pdf etc). Makes no difference.
When I expert the document to pdf for printing - the same thing has occured. The one page - with lots of images - has generated with the appearance of CMYK but the following page with fewer images still has bright colours (same as the RGB original file). When I print this pdf to a CMYK printer the files print as per the pdf - the page with images which appear in CMYK colour format - look dull and are not true to the flowers colours and the other page prints as per the RGB files - perfectly.
Can anyone tell me how I can override this change in Indesign CS5? It seems to have little to do with the colour management of the images and more to do with the percentage of the page which is RGB colour images.
Any help would be much appreciated.

This is the first time I've posted in a help forum. This solved all my problems. Hopefully I didn't offend to many CMYK inks along the way.
    You guys are brilliant.
    I am a converted friend.

  • Object set to overprint in InDesign CS5.5, but in fact knocks out

    Hi
I created a document in InDesign CS5.5 that had a background image and, on top of that, a small circle to act as a cutter guide so that the printer knew where to drill a hole for binding. I set the circle to 'overprint' in the attributes pane, and then exported the layout under the PDF/X-1a:2001 setting in Acrobat. Later, the printer said that the circle was in fact knocking out from the background image, even though separations printed from my laser showed the circle on its own separation and no hole knocked out of the image. Any idea what I've done wrong?
Many thanks if anyone can put me right - Andi

Hi Rob, Thanks for your reply.
Yep the cutter is set up as two different colour Pantone + CMYK spots in Illustrator- (I did CMYK+CMYK coated because you can't seem to change the name of the Pantone Coated colours).
I have looked at the Object inspector above ( I was relying on turning on and off the pantone colours to see if the overprint was working - when I turned them off the photo below was knocked out).
However, the object inspector says Overprint = True.
Thanks for your help with this

  • InDesign CS5.5 Won't Place Word 2011 Files (Mac); Missing Filter?

I'm confused. I opened approximately 15 Word files, cut all the photos, then saved them as Word 97-2004 files. Then I opened an InDesign CS5.5 file and tried to place each Word file but I keep getting a "No filter found for requested operation" error message. I was able to place a couple of the files but I got the error message for all the rest.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

Hi Robert, we haven't seen you here for a while. Welcome back.
    Thx
I know Jongware complains bitterly that Word import can be really flakey. Did you try daving as plain .doc, too? Seems like MathType equations are also the subject of a fair number of posts, too, but I'm not sure they are really a similar problem. I don't suppose there's any way for you to convert the eqations to .ai or PDF and still use them as links in Word, or to embed rather than link?
I'm working on big tool to automatic mass processing big number of Word files. One of the steps is to prepare Word files with MathType equations for further manual processing. I have a macro (for Word2010) to automatically  export all equations to EPS files. The next step is to reImport EPS files back to Word - so they will be imported into InDesign as linked files and then they could be automatically correctly positioned withing the text.
The problem is - I've done reImport step in Word2000 - as 2nd macro - and it works perfectly fine for DOC files saved from Word2000.
Of course I can do this in InDesign - but I think it would be faster in Word.
I think missing import of the linked files for DOCX files is a BIG bug ...

  • Colour change in identically exported PDFs: InDesign CS5 to CS6

Artwork turns out with a greener hue in a PDF Print document exported using InDesign CS6 trial software that has ruined a whole print run.
This catalogue has been printed in past years using CS4 and CS5 software, each time the colours in the exported PDF proof, PDF Print file and InDesign files being accurate and matching perfectly.
This time I used a trial of InDesign CS6 - Importing the same mother file as previous years and working on the document. When exporting the document however, despite using identical settings to export PDF files in the past, the exported PDFs turn out with a greener hue than the previous CS5 PDFs. I trialed a few different kinds of colour conversions in the PDF export window (i.e. 'no conversion' to 'convert to destination - RGB') just to see what happened -  and all turned out with the same result. The colour change is small but this was exxaggerated at print and as a result the colours
looked drastically different from the catalogue the year before. Printing aside, (as it's a whole other ballgame), it came down to this slight PDF colour change.
I'm wondering if anyone can help explain this - does CS6 handle colour exporting differently to CS5?

    Hi Eugene,
Looking up the settings, they say the following:
InDesign CS5: Unsynchronised "settings are not synchronised for consistent colour"  (odd; CS5 version is where the file exported with accurate colours)
InDesign CS6: Synchronised "using the same colour settings for consistent colour management"   (CS6 version exported with a colour change)
Another thing I've realised that might be an issue:
The product images are still in RGB format (supplied by the photographer), where everything else in the artwork is in CMYK format. I've run a test export where I've converted everything to CMYK and exported it to a PDF.
    The results:
InDesign CS5: Same colours consistently on both PDFs with RGB images and with all CMYK images.
InDesign CS6: Green hue across PDF with RGB images in it, Correct colours in PDF with all CMYK images.
So is this where the problem lies? The CS6 software having Synchronised colour settings shows a colour change when RGB photos are exported to PDF?
    Let me know your thoughts...

  • Swf-Ressourcen in pdf-Datei (Acrobat X Pro und InDesign CS5)

    Hallo,

Ja klar - in Flash/ Flash Catalyst.

  • InDesign CS5 Slooooooow

    My system - iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 16 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, OSX 10.6.7
Installed InDesign CS5 and it seems to be running very very slow. It's very jerky and not smooth at all. Moving photos and scrolling the page is very jerky and delayed. I have looked through many of the forums and discussions and have tried turning off certain preferences and nothing seems to help. I maxed out the memory to 16 GB and that has not helped. I ran applejack and that did not help. I thought it might be because the file is a catalog file with many pages and images but I did a save as to the file and deleted all the pages except one and it was still very jerky.
Live Screen Redraw is set to Never.
Display Performance is set to Typical.
I use Suitcase Fusion 3 as font manager.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What I just noticed is there are very complex frames around the images (I did not originally create the document). Each frame has many many points. There are a few of them on almost every page. These seem to be the elements that are very hard to move. Is there any way to simplify a frame without deleting individual points or is there something else I can do?
