Even i take mouse over to those links it shows the handover, but text appearing and links does not work.
I have tried in cs3 too, but same problem continues. (i am working on In Design CS6)
Can anyone tell me the solutions ?

Make sure you're choosing File > Export > Adobe PDF (Interactive) and NOT  Adobe PDF (Print).
Make sure you're previewing in Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Reader and NOT other PDF readers (like Mac Preview).

  • Indesign cs6, export interactive pdf

    When i export my interactive document to pdf, the result is not working well. All the roll over buttons are blinking when the mouse cursor point on it. also i have problem with layers. the appearance of layers is not as same as file, so some images go under other.
    I have no problem in preview and it works well in preview but when i export to pdf the result is catastrophic.
    Is there anyone have a same problem? Or anyone know what i am doing wrong?

    I am having the same problem. Here are my screenshots. In Acrbat 10, in the layers pane, the layers names show up correctly, but in the actual graphics of the PDF, the layers are displayed in the reverse order.

  • InDesign CS6 Export to PDF has missing objects

    When exporting to PDF, I have a 6-page document that has missing objects from the master.
    Here's the document with the content removed:
    lab.cyke.net/pdf/MissingObjects.pdf
    The first and last pages were constructed correctly. All pages in between are screwed up. Any ideas?

    @Jongware – I have a case with InDesign CS5.5 7.5.3 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 where master pages based on each other lead to false representation of page objects.
    Not only in pdf export, but also on the actual InDesign pages. Made an IDML from it, opened that in InDesign CS4 and the error was gone.
    This problem is documented at the German-Swiss forum "HilfDirSelbst" at:
    http://www.hilfdirselbst.ch/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=496285#496285
    Some screen grabs together with the IDML are attached there.
    After opening the IDML from InDesign CS4 with the error gone, I exported another IDML from CS4, opened that in InDesign CS5.5 7.5.3 and the error was present.
    To detect the error look at pages 1* and 4 of the mentioned screen grabs.
    Uwe
    //EDIT: *the screen grab of the pages palette of InDesign CS5.5 shows the error on page 4 only. The error is present outside of page 1 as well, but cannot show on the screen grab.

  • InDesign CS6 to Interactive PDF

    I want to design an Newsletter in CS6 and export it as a interactive PDF. The end goal is to be able to email the Newsletter out, but allow the end user to be able to modify the text in each section so they can personalize it as necessary. Additionally, I want them to be able to add thier own logo to the newsletter. I know much of this can be done in Acrobat X but can it all be done in InDesign CS6?
    Can anyone point me to some resources if it is possible.
    Thank you.
    Randy

    I can tell you what they'll tell you in the Acrobat forum: PDF is considered a FINAL format. It's not intended (or constructed) to be work the way you would like.
    allow the end user to be able to modify the text in each section so they can personalize it as necessary. Additionally, I want them to be able to add thier own logo to the newsletter.
    The only thing that approaches what you want is creating form fields in InDesign that can be filled out when a user received the PDF document.
    If each recipient had a full copy of PAID Acrobat application, they could make minor changes in text and pictures. To have the greatest capabilities, they would need to own the latest version, Acrobat XI, which has stronger editing features than earlier versions of Acrobat.

  • InDesign CS6 - Exporting Issues, PDF being sent to Photshop and saving as a psd rather than the requested pdf? Please help!

    Hi
    I have an issue in InDesign CS6. It has been happening the last couple of days now.
    When i export to pdf. regardless of quality instead of being saved as a pdf it is being sent to Photoshop which then saves the file as a psd...
    I have updated InDesign to the latest CS6 update which helped the issue yesterday but today the same problem is back. Help please what could be the problem and how do I fix it?
    Any advice is very appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sam

    ExportPDF is a subscription service for exporting PDF files into Word and Excel, from Adobe Reader. I suspect you need the InDesign forum, as InDesign is the product here.

  • Why does my InDesign CS6-created interactive pdf w/ email submit button no longer submit from Reader

    Last spring I created a 6 page interactive pdf form to email my clients. At the end of the form, I designed Print and Submit buttons. I tested it in Reader and both buttons worked. However, now after revising some of the fields in the same form, the Submit button isn't working in Reader. A message pops up stating that only a data file will be sent, rather than the form. After clicking OK on that (although I do want entire form to be returned via Submit), an error pop-up states "This operation is not permitted."
    What do I need to do to correct this problem so that clients can receive this form via email attachment, open in Reader and then return completed form via email submission? Do I need to open the pdf in Acrobat after converting from InDesign, and edit some feature there? Again, it is essential that my clients can open it in Reader. I have Googled this question but so far not found help.
    Thanks for your assistance!

    HI oliviat38527079
    Seems that the hyperlink you created on the button to move to the next PDF is not working once it gets moved to a different computer via email, this happens when there is a change in the file path.  It works fine when its on our Mac Computer as the path is fixed because the PDF was created on the same computer, however the path gets changed once it is mailed to a different computer.
    I would recommend you check the path of the hyperlinks & make sure they are fixed.
    Suppose the path set in the hyperlink is C:\Users\NewFolder\PDF\file1.pdf , then the path of the file on the computer to which you have mailed it should be arrange in same manner so that the hyperlink works.
    If its possible for you to share the PDF file then please do, so we can have a closer look & try to resolve your issue.
    In case you any doubts please reply.
    Regards,
    Aadesh

  • Exported PDF is Blank (branched, formerly Re: InDesign CS6 Export to PDF has missing objects)

    Just recently went from CS5.5 to CS6 and now when I export files in InDesign to pdf they open and are totally blank. What am I doing wrong?

    Jeanne,
    I've brancehed this to a new discussion because I'm pretty sure your problem is differnt fromthe one inthe trhead where you posted originally.
    What's your OS? Are the PDFs opening automatically at the end of export, or are you opening them manually?
    Are your pages blank in ID if you switch to Preview mode?

  • Exporting to PDF - Missing letters   InDesign CS5

    I'm using CS5 at work.  My boss already had a commercial font, the Helvetica Neue serie.  I'm using that font right now in an InDesign document for our yearly catalogue.
    The InDesign file is perfect, pictures and texts.  But when I translate it to a PDF, letter go missing, 'li' 'ni' 'lo' and sequences of letters like that, all around the catalogue.
    I know there are some threads that talk about missing letters but in previous versions of InDesign.
    Anyone got an idea ?
    I created once of twice PDFs without that problem, so I wonder what is happening ?

    should I change font then ?  it's kindda late, it's uploading with corrections right now to China....
    Well, if what you have works for you, and if it's already on its way, then it's a bit late to change the font or change the way you made the PDF.
    For the future, though, it would be good for you to figure out what went wrong. Now, I don't have a full set of Helvetica (horrors! I work in a nonprofit), so I had to try this with other fonts. I picked Minion Pro at first, actually. I exported all kinds of PDFs, both for print and for interactive, and I couldn't make the ligatures drop. And I viewed it in my browser as well as opened from the desktop, I tried it with generic Times, I tried it in many, many ways. I was not able to reproduce your issue.
    It'll be worth the time spent digging if you can figure this out. Here are my guesses:
    1) You folks are using a plugin or another app or some non-Adobe PDF viewer in your browsers. I remember in the early days of... um... I think it was Preview on the Mac circa 10.3?  it would sometimes mess up display of ligatures in embedded fonts.
    2) Everyone in your organization has the same corrupt version of Helvetica. (A very, very long shot.)
    3) There's a bug in the Interactive PDF export. (Another very, very long shot.)
    4) The font is not actually embedding correctly in the interactive PDF for unknown reasons, and we can't tell.
    Anyhow, if it's a problem with your setup or your working methods, better to find out now rather than later. And if it's a bug, same. I'd start by trying to export interactive PDFs with other fonts that do have ligatures to see if you can narrow it down to "just ligatures" or "just Helvetica."

  • InDesign CS6 exports PDFs wrong.

    When I try to export a file from InDesign CS6 as a PDF it always comes out looking like this:
    I tried downloading a patch that was supposed to solve the issue, but my Adobe Updater won't work either. The progress bar loads all the way but then it just jumps back to asking if I want to install the new updates without ever actually installing anything.

    That's totally useless. We don't know anything about your PDF settings, your version of Acrobat, your document, fonts used, paragraph styles, your system and so on. Ask in the ID forum and provide a lot more of those details.

  • Any ideas on how to get Acrobat X Pro (ver. 10.1.12) to recognize/create form checkboxes after exporting an InDesign CS6 file to PDF?

    I have tried everything I can think of to try to get it to work (which it did until recently when I had Acrobat reinstalled). OS is Windows 7.

    Are you sure you're exporting interactive PDF?

  • How to export interactive pdf?

    hi,
    pls help me,how to export interactive pdf?
    thanks,
    vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    you can use following commands to export the interactive PDF
    InterfacePtr<ICommand> pPDFExportCmd(CmdUtils::CreateCommand(kInteractivePDFExportCmdBoss));
    if (pPDFExportCmd == nil)
         break;
    InterfacePtr<IInteractivePDFExportPrefs> pExportPrefs(pPDFExportCmd, IID_IINTERACTIVEPDFEXPORTPREFS );
    if (pExportPrefs == nil)
         break;
    instead of
    InterfacePtr<ICommand> pPDFExportCmd(CmdUtils::CreateCommand(kPDFExportCmdBoss));
    if (pPDFExportCmd == nil)
         break;
    InterfacePtr<IPDFExportPrefs> pExportPrefs(pPDFExportCmd, IID_IPDFEXPORTPREFS);
    if (pExportPrefs == nil)
         break;
    and then set the export options through api IInteractivePDFExportPrefs
    Hope this helps.
    Regards

  • InDesign CS6 exporting to Adobe PDF (Interactive)

    Created an interactive form in InDesign CS6, but when I export to a PDF file, using Adobe PDF (Interactive), the purple bar "Please fill out the following form…" is not visible in my PDF file.
    PLEASE NOTE: My Adobe Acrobat Pro preferences do not have the check mark on under >Form >Always hide forms document message bar. The check mark is off.
    I want the purple box to be visible in my interactive form, yet it is not. WHY????

    Because this isn't really an InDesign question, I'd post this in this Acrobat Pro forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat/forms
    That's never worked that way for me.

  • Indesign CS6 for windows 7 crashes when exporting interactive PDF (Print PDFs fine)

    Any advice guys this is driving me nuts - was working up until a few weeks ago and after system rebuild from crash no longer working?

    Hi Guys, thanks for the advice. I am assuming you disable and extension through the Extension Manager? The problem is its not listed under indesign - when I select Indesign and look at all the plugins they are all authored by adobe? Extensis is listed under my About Plugins Directory and seems to be working fine. I did find a comment on a blog somewhere about checking, unchecking or toggling the 'create tagged PDF' checkbox which occasionally works. Indesign often completes the PDF file then crashes and after I have force quit Indesign the PDF works fine once the OS has unlocked it from being written. Any other ideas? I have re installed indesign and suitcase - no luck. Its couldn't be an Acrobat Problem could it? Its seems to write the PDF and then hang for a while, then say it cannot save "filename".
    Thanks again for your time

  • InDesign | Mystery/unwanted form function appearing in exported Interactive PDF

    I am working on a project for a client that is a large interactive PDF with navigation, built in InDesign.
    On a recent version, exported PDFs on opening say "This document has form data that must be filled out" even though we have built no form function into the IDD document. When I click to "highlight fields" in the PDF, and scan all the pages, nothing is highlighted.
    Does anyone know what is happening and how I might be able to track down and correct the issue?
    Many thanks
    Scott

    For anyone arriving here with a similar problem, the solution is to export the Interactive PDF from InDesign with password security to restrict all changes on the exported PDF. This will eliminate the 'forms' message from appearing when opening the PDF.

  • InDesign CS6 crashes during PDF export

    I have been attempting to export a magazine design to PDF using the dialogue in InDesign CS6 (for Mac). The PDF gets to around 90% in the background tasks panel and crashes every time. I have removed preferences, reinstalled InDesign, upgraded to Suitcase Fusion 4 and am still having problems. I have even tried printing as a .ps file and it crashes during that as well. A few weeks ago I had a similar problem but found that I was opening CS5 .indd files and not resaving them as CS6 .indd files before exporting. Once I resaved/renamed them in CS6 it appeared to fix the problem. Now I can't seem to fix this one. I have exported other files and it works fine. I even packaged the .idml file and a colleague of mine opened it up in CS5.5 and was able to export it. I thought it might have something to do with corrupt fonts but I disabled all fonts and still couldn't get it to export. Any help or advice would be much appreciated as I am on a deadline.
