Buttons are swapped in InDesign CS6 for Mac

Has anyone else noticed that the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons are swapped in the "Options" dialog box for placing a linked graphic in InDesign CS6? It probably seems like a minor thing but when you use the "Show Options" feature a lot when placing a graphic it's very aggravating. Every other dialog box, including this one in the previous versions of InDesign has the Cancel button on the left and OK button on the right. I hope this gets fixed as I'm so used to the "OK" button being on the right that I'm constantly clicking "Cancel" by mistake and have to start over again. Arrgh!!

How do I reinstall Indesign cs6 for mac? I uninstalled it as it kept crashing.

My InDesign cs6 kept crashing. It wouldn't let me save documents so i would have to export it as an idml and then open that and save it as a indd again. This was happening for a while and today I tried to create a new document but it wouldn't allow me to. So kept trying to force quit it and try again. I ended up unistalling the software but don't know how to reinstall it.

No. Nothing. Just doesn't allow me to save, save as or undo. And today it wouldn't even allow me to create a new document. I have uninstalled InDesign cs6 and trying to download the whole of creative suite 6 again. I'm not sure if this will work but I couldn't think of anything else.

Indesign CS6 on MACs with OS 10.8 are having problems with links

Indesign CS6 on MACs with 10.8 are having problems with links. All links to other files have to be updated when opening a file although definitely nothing has changed to the linked files.
We can rule out our company's networking and the system hosting the files (HELIOS software on RedHat Linux VM). This happens with newly created Indesign files and with old ones. E.g. we create a file on Tuesday, save it and open it again on the exact same MAC on Wednesday and all links to other fiels (.indd, .png, .bmp, etc. nothing uncommon) have to be updated as they all show the yellow triangle + black exclamation mark symbol next to them. Has anybody else experienced this, What can we do? We have tried absolutley everything and updated all software from MAC OS to CS6 itself but nothing seems to help on the long run.
Any further information required?

We actually noticed that there also seems to be something wrong with the timestamps:
If we open the infos via the MAC finder to a file (.psd e.g.) which is linked in one of our indesign files, it states a certain date of creation.
If we then switch to the Indesign file we just opened in which we had to update all links and open the infos to exactly the same file we looked at in the finder, a different date of creation is stated. So there also seems to be a mistake here (hope it's clear what I mean).
We are ruling out our network as the error cannot be "re-enacted". We have created numerous test files in Indesign (simple white page containing one link to a .psd file which is also used in one of the supposedly defective files) and have opened them on various MACs with various OS versions over the past days/weeks but unfortunately the files open without any notifications or errors.
Just as a background: a few months ago, the problem seemed to occur between MACs with differing OS, 10.6 - 10.8 at first. A file which was created on a 10.6 MAC could not be opened without updating all links on a 10.8 MAC. That is why we updated everything to 10.8. The error did not occur for about 2-3 weeks but then reoccured again.?
Have you heard anything similar?

How do I create a Table of Contents in InDesign CS6 for a print book that easily converts to epub?
Can anyone point me to a link for a step-by-step (not a video) on setting up all the elements of a print book properly (pages, table of contents and index) so they will convert and reflow perfectly from print to epub in InDesign CS6. This is not about building an ebook from ground up, but taking 50 backlisted print books (converted from old versions of Quark to InDesign) that now need to be converted to epub formats.
OR could someone point me to the link in the Adobe InDesign CS6 support that explains how to create a Table of Contents for a print book (5.5" x 8.5", 288 pages), one that will convert when the file is converted to ePub (for MAC OSX)?
Just downloaded the 706 page inDesign CS6 reference manual from Adobe <http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/indesign_reference.pdf> but there's not even a search feature on the pdf file.
Up until this week, we have only done print books, creating the TOC the old fashioned way, as a fixed page, comprised of two columns: page numbers and chapters/subject. The files I have created are taken by our printer and printed beautifully.
However, when I convert the same book to epub in CS6, the character and paragraph styles converted beautifully - but everything else is all over the place! The table of contents is on different pages, the columns split apart. That goes for the page contents as well - everything is all over the place. when it's converted to a pdf -- total perfection. Never any problems converting with perfection to pdf format and reading those on the various readers.

InDesign CS6 on Mac OSX 10.9.3 crashes on startup

I have a problem with InDesign CS6 on Mac OSX 10.9.3 and I'm really desperate right now...
I've installed the CS6 Master Collection some days ago.. all programs (f.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) are working fine, but InDesign doesn't.
When I try to start it, it suddenly crashes during (or immediately after) the step "Starting up Service Registry":

Playback Lag in Premiere Pro CS6 for Mac

I'm editing a project in Premiere Pro CS6 for Mac, and the playback is really laggy. Its fine if you're viewing one long clip, but it gets really laggy when it switches between clips. The sound will play, but the playback screen will be frozen on the last frame from the previous clip. I use the latest thin model of the iMac. Can anybody help me?

How do I insert applets in DW CS6 for Mac?

I am a student and my textbook lesson is asking me to insert an applet using insert, media menu but I do not have that option on the Mac version. I have an applet file and I've tried inserting it in as a plugin but when viewing it in the browser it has "pluging missing" in stead of the applet. How do I insert an applet in DW CS6 for Mac?

I did have a problem with Java on my iMac but not on my Macbook Pro. My IMac Java hasn't worked correctly since Apple quit updating Java and turned the updates over to Oracle and the console application was removed from system settings. I installed the Java JDK on my iMac (it was already installed on my Macbook Pro). The consol application is now in my system settings and when I go to the Java site, the JRE is running properly on my iMac where it wasn't before.
I opened the page on both computers and it still says the same thing, "Missing Plugin". When I click on the words "Missing Plugin" it says "This page contains content that can't be shown because it's type is unspecified."
I checked to see if Java was enabled and it was.
I also updated the Java plugin before and after trying the page several times with the same result.
I'm thinking that it's an error in the code because the code doesn't look quite right in my novice opinion.

InDesign CS6 for Windows: Type tool crashes program and am getting missing plug-in msgs.

Just installed InDesign CS6 for Windows. When I open the program, I receive three messages:
(1) Paragraph Panel.APLN needs Justification Panel plugin;
(2) Runin Styles Panell.APLN needs Find and Change Panel plug-in;
(3) Objectstylesui.APLN needs Graphics Panel plug-in.
To top it off, the type tool crashes the program.
I couldn't locate any current forum postings that appeared to help. I have uninstalled and re-installed the software. I have done an update from Adobe.
Advice? This is an educator's addition if that matters.

Thank for your help Peter. My software is working just fine now.
For others who might encounter these issues, here is how - with Peter Spier's help - I solved my problems. I uninstalled the previous CS6 version and re-booted. I disconnected from the Internet and then disabled my antivirus protection, antispyware and firewall. I had to do this in Norton as well as Windows (Windows Defender and Windows Firewall). Then I re-loaded the entire CS6 and re-booted. I opened InDesign. I no longer got the msgs about plug-ins missing. I then opened a new file and checked the Type tool. It worked fine. I opened an InDesign CS3 file, saved it as a new file in ID CS6. I was able to successfully edit text using the Type Tool.

Shake reduction doesn't appear in filter menu in CS6 for Mac, how do I get it?

I downloaded and installed CS6 for Mac over the weekend. There is no shake reduction in the filters menu, under the shapen filters. I looked in several places for it and can not find it. I updated the software also and it still does not show. Does any one know why this filter is not in CS6 for Mac? How do I get it?

These fetaures are only available in Photoshop CC (aka CS7), which will only become available beginning on June 17.

Could try saving as tiff provided layers and transparency are chosen at the time of saving. But it's hard to give a definitive answer as it depends on the final usage. For example PSD's tend to work better in applications like In Design in comparison with tiff.

Tools Panel missing in Photoshop CS6 for Mac

I have been using Photoshop CS6 for Mac for about 6 mths. now. When I opened it yesterday to work on some photos, I noticed that my tools panel that is always located on the left side of my screen had disappeared. I have been unable to locate it anywhere. Also, the top of my photoshop page looks different. Any assistance that I could get would be greatly appreciated.
