InDesign CS6 - Probleme bei partieller UV-Lack-Beschichtung

Hallo zusammen
um eine Postkarte partiell mit UV-Lack zu beschichten, habe ich folgende Anweisung meiner Druckerei befolgt:
In Adobe InDesign wählen Sie Lack als normale Farbe in der Farbfelder-Palette aus. Um eine Lackfarbe zu erstellen, wählen Sie in der Farbfelder-Palette Neues Farbfeld. Es öffnet sich ein neues Dialogfenster. Hier geben Sie den Farbnamen Lack ein. Da diese Farbe nicht aus CMYK zusammengesetzt wird, wählen Sie den Farbtyp Volltonfarbe. Stellen Sie nun als Farbe 100% Magenta ein. Wählen Sie nun das Objekt Ihrer Wahl mit dem schwarzen Pfeil an und duplizieren Sie dieses. Legen Sie das Objekt passgenau über das andere und färben Sie dieses mit der neu erstellten Lackfarbe ein. Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie alle Objekte, welche Sie mit der Lackfarbe eingefärbt haben auf Überdrucken stellen. Gehen Sie hierzu in die Attribute-Palette und markieren Fläche Überdrucken mit einem Häkchen. Nun schimmern unter den eingefärbten Flächen die darunterliegenden Objekte durch.
Leider schimmert bei mir das darunterliegende Bild nicht durch und die Volltonfarbe wird vollfächig und mit 100% Magenta dargestellt - was läuft da schief?
Ich habe alle Schritte nochmals geprüft und meines Erachtens habe ich alle Punkte richtig befolgt...

InDesign CS6 Master: Manche Button und Memuefenster (Ebenen) reagieren ploetzlich nicht mehr.
Plötzlich reagieren einige Buttons nicht mehr (z.B. Schriften, oder einige Ebenenveränderungen). Bei Neu-Dateien oder auch bei gespeicherten Dateien.
Ich habe einige Schriftarten aus Window 7 (32 bit) aus dem Font-Ordner gelöscht. War ein Tipp aus Adobe. Ohne Erfolg.
Wieder Schriften in InDesign CS6 und Windows (Fonts-Ordner) von der Masten CS6-DVD hineinkopiert. Ohne Erfolg.
Ich habe InDesign CS6 deinstalliert - nach früheren Adobe-Vorgaben mit dem Clean-Tool und manueller Bereinigung. Dann erfolgte von der originalen DVD eine Neuinstallation von InDesign CS6. Keine Änderung der Probleme. Ohne Erfolg also.
In den anderen CS-Programmen von PhotoShop CS6 und Illustrator CS6 konnte ich keine Fehler entdecken.
Wer kann helfen?

Indesign CS6 Problems with OS X Services

With Indesign CS5.5, services work, but not in CS6 on Snow Leopard. What I mean is, if you select some text (in my case Tex text), go to the Indesign menu, select Services, then select something like Typeset LaTex Text, Indesign says the service cannot be used, and the reason revealed in the Console is this:

This error happens for all Services listed.
This works fine in Indesign CS5.5. Googling seems to find nothing about this. Any ideas?

No issues so far on my 2012 Mac Mini but after using this new system for 2 days I find no improvement or features that I would use from ML version. Probably more trouble updating than it was worth.

[InDesign CS6] Ärger bei Tabellenformaten

Ich fasse es ehrlich gesagt nicht, dass ein seit wenigstens CS3 bekanntes (von mir gemeldet) Problem leider immer noch in CS6 vorhanden ist. Folgendes:
In einem Dokument habe ich ein Tabellenformat mit extra Kopfzeile erstellt. Im Tabellenformat habe ich für die Kopfzeile und den Körper unterschiedliche Zellenformate angegeben. Die Zellenformate haben dann wieder jeweils ein unterschiedliches Absatzformat. Erstelle ich nun eine neue Tabelle mit diesem Tabellenformat, sieht erst mal alles gut aus.
Schreibe ich dann jedoch Text in die Tabelle, wird nicht mein Absatzformat für die Kopfzeile und den Körper verwendet, sondern wahllos irgendein anderes aus meinen Absatzformaten. In der Toolbar wird „Kein Absatzformat“ angezeigt. Ich muss also für jede Tabelle immer noch mal zusätzlich entweder das passende Zellenformat dem Kopf und Körper zuweisen, damit auch das Absatzformat angewendet wird.
Warum bitte ich das so? Wieso wird nicht gleich das über Tabellenformat → Zellenformat → Absatzformat vorgegeben Format verwendet?
Kennt jemand einen Workaround dafür? Ziel ist einfach, dass nach dem Erstellen einer Tabelle die Zellen- und Absatzformate des Tabellenformats für Kopf, Fuß und Körper sofort angewendet werden, ohne das immer noch mal manuell zuweisen zu müssen.

Aber falls es dich wirklich interessieren sollte: Der Bug ist der, dass es bei so ziemlich allen Mac-Programmen im Menü „Hilfe“ ein Suchfeld gibt, mit dem man ganz schnell alle Menüpunkte nach einem bestimmten durchsuchen kann. Weiß ich also bspw. nicht mehr genau, wo in Photoshop die Menüpunkte für das Spiegeln eines Bilds waren, tippe sich in dem Suchfeld schnell „spiegel“ und schon werden mir alle Menüpunkte angezeigt, die „spiegel“ enthalten. Diese Funktion wird von OS X bereitgestellt und steht daher allen Programmen zur Verfügung. In der englischsprachigen Version funktioniert das auch, nur in der deutschsprachigen Version gibt es seit CS5 den besagten Bug. Soweit ich das herrausgefunden habe, wird beim Kompilieren ein Flag für die Sprache falsch gesetzt, weshalb das OS die Suchfunktion nicht anzeigt.

Statt das zu beheben, wird das Suchfeld nun konsequent in allen CS6-Programmen nicht mehr angezeigt. Bis dahin war nur Photoshop seit CS5 davon betroffen.
Aber wird natürlich wieder nur ein Anwenderfehler von mir sein…

InDesign CS6 problems updating to get Digital Publishing Suit

When I open the folio builder it tells me to update in order to get the digital publishing suit.
But when i try to update, it tells me my indesign is already up to date.
My problem is very similar to this thread below, just that mine is a CS6 version, i've tried to use the solution for the indesign CC (the one linked below) but it doesn't work.

Just re download indesign from the site and update it again, it should work.

Indesign CS6 problems; export/save as .pdf

I get big sections of text no longer text but dashed lines as well as funny "missing font" problems of fonts that don't exist/I don't use. Any help would be appreciated, as I have never had this problem before with CS, CS2 or CS4.

I'll say to you what I always say in response to this statement when no true bug has been established. 99% of the time what users think are bugs turn out, if you spend the time to dig deep enough, to be some sort of software conflict or configuration issue on the user's own machine. There is nothing that an update can or will do to solve these localized issues.
Most true bugs show up here in the forum pretty quickly with dozens, if not hundreds, of complaints, unless they are triggered by something very obscure that most users never do. Export to PDF, Times New Roman, and paragraph rules don't really fit the obscure description, and I don't believe other users will be able to consistently reproduce your problems, let alone the Adobe engineers (and they can't fix waht they can't reliably reproduce).
I don't blame you for going back to a system that works to get your project done, but if you want to progress with using CS6 I think you need to do some more work on your end. Consistently odd behavior, and you're telling us now about more than one oddity, can be casued by damaged preferences, easy to test (see Replace Your Preferences) or a failed or damaged appliction installation. You may find, when you have time, that uninstalling, running the clean tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) and reinstalling will help. Running in diagnostic mode, with startup programs and extensions disabled, is also a good way to check for software conflicts you might not suspect.

Was soll sich daraus ergeben? Ohne Systeminfo und andere Details, wie z.B. was für Features du in deinem Layout nutzt und wie die Exporteinstellungen sind, ist der beste Crashreport nutzlos. Ja, wir sehen, dass das entsprechedne Plugin crasht, aber das hätte auch deine Oma ohne irgendwelche Computerkenntnisse erkannt....

The HP Deskjet 845c is actually no longer supported on Mac OS X since version 10.6:

You may try installing the 3rd party HPIJS drivers which seems to support the 845c.
Be sure to install any of the 3 required download prior adding the printer:

Problem in Launching Adobe Media Encoder, in adobe Indesign CS6

I have problem in launching the shortcut of adobe media encoder. i have virtualized the Adobe INdesign CS6 in that we have 5 shortcuts, 4 of them are x32bit it works fine , but the shortcut media encoder is of x64bit. is not launching . while launcing i will get the error like Adobe Media Encoder CS6.0 has stoped working. close programm.
virtualized in Thinapp 5, build is x64bit , RAM=4gb.
   I have tried enbaling AltArchitectureShortcut=1 in packaging.ini.
    Merged Adobe PCD which is located in %Program Files Common% which was having the permission issue.
    Created the TEMP In %Local AppData% .
    Tried capturing without launching the shortcut .
    Merged the cache folder which are all related to the Media Encoder shortcut.
    Captured with Standard users account.
    Gave Merged permission to required folder and tested.
Please suggest me in this

Problem in the exportation to PDF (Indesign CS6)

Problem in the exportation to PDF (Indesign CS6):
Page with 3 layers: 1st background image, 2nd semi-transparent white square, 3rd text in color black.
It looks OK in Indesign, but when exporting, in the PDF file the letters are not black, they are gray. What could happened? I've tryed already the obvious solutions (the order of layers is OK, restarted the PC...)

the default [Black] swatch (0/0/0/100 in CMYK) really is a lighter color than a rich black mixed from four CMYk ink, or 3 RGB colors. It would be pretty unusual to see a black background in an image that wasn't a mix.
Do you have the preference in ID for Appearance of Black set to Display All Blacks Accurately? That will show you the difference in ID on screen as well.

Indesign CS6 on MACs with OS 10.8 are having problems with links

Indesign CS6 on MACs with 10.8 are having problems with links. All links to other files have to be updated when opening a file although definitely nothing has changed to the linked files.
We can rule out our company's networking and the system hosting the files (HELIOS software on RedHat Linux VM). This happens with newly created Indesign files and with old ones. E.g. we create a file on Tuesday, save it and open it again on the exact same MAC on Wednesday and all links to other fiels (.indd, .png, .bmp, etc. nothing uncommon) have to be updated as they all show the yellow triangle + black exclamation mark symbol next to them. Has anybody else experienced this, What can we do? We have tried absolutley everything and updated all software from MAC OS to CS6 itself but nothing seems to help on the long run.
Any further information required?

We actually noticed that there also seems to be something wrong with the timestamps:
If we open the infos via the MAC finder to a file (.psd e.g.) which is linked in one of our indesign files, it states a certain date of creation.
If we then switch to the Indesign file we just opened in which we had to update all links and open the infos to exactly the same file we looked at in the finder, a different date of creation is stated. So there also seems to be a mistake here (hope it's clear what I mean).
We are ruling out our network as the error cannot be "re-enacted". We have created numerous test files in Indesign (simple white page containing one link to a .psd file which is also used in one of the supposedly defective files) and have opened them on various MACs with various OS versions over the past days/weeks but unfortunately the files open without any notifications or errors.
Just as a background: a few months ago, the problem seemed to occur between MACs with differing OS, 10.6 - 10.8 at first. A file which was created on a 10.6 MAC could not be opened without updating all links on a 10.8 MAC. That is why we updated everything to 10.8. The error did not occur for about 2-3 weeks but then reoccured again.?
Have you heard anything similar?

Problem with InDesign CS6 start (without internet)

I have a problem with the start of InDesign CS6 linked to the presence or absence of internet.
I need to set an IP without internet on the Mac where I installed InDesign, but when I do it right after the splash screen the program freezes for a few minutes, after which starts.
With internet this problem does not occur.

You need to tell us more about what you are doing. Once activated, ID should not require internet access to run unless it needs to verify the subscription status.

InDesign CS6 - fonts problems (Document fonts fight with system installed fonts, "font incomplete")

First, Indesign function to automatically open fonts from "Document fonts" folder is fantastic, quasy font manager. BUT, fonts is available ONLY for THAT indesign document, no other application can use it, even from CS6 suite. This is probably the most stupid decision about how this function must work. IDEALLY, fonts will be available for ALL application inside CS package until indd doc is closed. If I need some font for editing links in photoshop, illustrator I need to install them. This workflow have wrong concept.
We now have problem, sorry Indesign have problem. Example, I need type1 font mt-symbol for mathtype AND for Indesign. This font is installed in c:\windows\fonts folder. Everything work fine. When I make package from Indesign and reopen indesign indd document inside package, Indesign report that mt-symbol IS INCOMPLETE. WHY, BECAUSE CONCURENT FONTS from both C:\windows\fonts folder AND FROM "Document fonts" folder. If I rename "Document fonts" folder, Indesign open font only from system and everything work properly.
THIS IS BIG PROBLEM, fonts circles around workflow/folders and always will be duplicates in "document fonts" and system\fonts folder because different application need same fonts.
Any solution?

Another problem with the Document Fonts folder that we just noticed: in CS5, you could place Windows Type 1 fonts (.pfm and .pfb) into the Document Fonts folder on a Mac and InDesign would activate them.
This no longer works in CS6. (Bug report filed.)
Huge bummer, as this was a great timesaver and workaround in a high-production prepress environment when working with old Windows files. Hopefully this was not an intentional change and will be restored in a later bugfix release, or at worst in CS7.
