Indesign CS6 Problems with OS X Services

With Indesign CS5.5, services work, but not in CS6 on Snow Leopard. What I mean is, if you select some text (in my case Tex text), go to the Indesign menu, select Services, then select something like Typeset LaTex Text, Indesign says the service cannot be used, and the reason revealed in the Console is this:

This error happens for all Services listed.
This works fine in Indesign CS5.5. Googling seems to find nothing about this. Any ideas?
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

No issues so far on my 2012 Mac Mini but after using this new system for 2 days I find no improvement or features that I would use from ML version. Probably more trouble updating than it was worth.

I cannot imagine any problems in doing so, but you can keep your cs6 installation anyway.

Problem with reversal of Service entry Sheet

I am facing a problem with reversal of service entry sheet. The user has posted the document in dec 2009 and now the user wants to reverse the doc. I told the process how to reverse it. But when she is trying to revoke the acceptance, she is getting error log.I told her to reset the posting date to present date.Now she tried to change the doc date but she is getting error as "604 item 010 WBS element ****** budget exceeded year 2009". So i advised her further to increase the budget in the year 2009. Even that solution is not working.
Please help in this regard

The user is not authorised to change the budget. The person resposible for this is telling that increasing the budget wont help. can you tell me how to view whether the budget is available for the system in the period or not? Can you please help me in this regard?

Problem with RESTful web service

I am running into a problem with Flex Web Services (REST) in trying to get the proper format returned. I can see that the HTTP header is set to
Accept: */*;
rather than
Accept: application/xml
when sending the request. The web service was generated via the web services HTTP data services wizard. I edited it to set the resultFormat to xml

It is using the RESTful service: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/nd_pat_miller/demo/employee/{deptno}
This RESTful service tests fine when I test from within the RESTful web service module of the Workspace.
I based this on the Video demo tutorial for RESTful web service that Oracle published for 4.2 release. The video seemed to exclude the {deptno} in the URL but when I try that, it doesn't work either.
This is the error I am getting when I run this on my Apex environment: (it, of course, will not run the web service in the apex.oracle.com environment)

indicates there is a missing library on your system. What problems were you having before that caused you to delete Safari? How did you delete it?
You're best bet in this case is to re-install the OS. While doing a re-install will not normally harm your user data having a good working backup in cases like this is essential.

Also, I have two computers and the other is running the exact same version of Firefox, and the exact same theme, but it does not have this problem.
To make sure I'm being clear: there is an "x" on each tab that allows me to close it when I have multiple tabs open. When I have only one tab open, there is no "x"; so in order to close the webpage I have to open another empty tab, and then close the first. My other computer has the "x" to close the tab visible even when there is only one tab so that I can close the page and have an empty (marked "(untitled)" tab). Please help!

InDesign CS6 crash with export to PDF

When exporting to a PDF file (either print or interactive) in InDesign CS6, my program crashes sporadically, but consistently with one particular page. I have retyped that page several times, changing the graphics and bullets…and it still crashes. And now my InDesign CS5.5 is doing the same thing, but only with this page. Another page has exported just fine. The particular problem-causing page is only 1 page long and not a full page. Graphics are bullets (with color) and 4 PDF decorative corners and limited text.
My Mac is using OSX version 10.7.4. The iMac is an early 2009. This problem just started occurring. All of the discussion threads don't seem to address this particular problem.
I do rely on InDesign for my work.

Alright, so I'm using InDesign CS6 and MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.3. To the best of my knowledge, everything is up-to-date, but I'm relatively new to both Macs and InDesign.
I'm formatting a report for work. It's a long document, ~80 pages, primarily text with some tables, etc. I was working on this document a few weeks ago, then it got put on the back burner and I'm just now coming back to it. However, it seems like it's developed a bug and I can load it just fine, but after a few minutes of work, it freezes and I have to Force Quit.
I did some preliminary troubleshooting on the web and I found out you're supposed to reset your ID preferences or something, so I did that successfully and the problem still occurs.
I've tried working on other documents and I haven't had the program crash, yet.
So the logical assumption would be that the file is corrupted, right? Well I came to that conclusion, and tried to create a fresh clean document and then copy and paste the text from the original document into a frame in the new document. But the problem still occurs.
Is there a way I can recover my document?

Hrm. So I definitely tried exporting the tagged text and importing it and it didn't work (what happened was the new, clean document completely froze up and I had to Force Quit).
But then, at your surprise/insistence, I tried again and it seemed to work this time. So thanks for your help. I have a knack for finding weird unexplainable bugs.

Using InDesign CS6 SDK with MFC

Has anybody been developing InDesign plugins that use MFC? I would have to use a bunch of functions that rely heavily on MFC. The problem is that now both MFC and InDesign CS6 API want to declare their own CString, ICommand and DLLmain and it creates quite major conflicts. I'm just curious if there is a proven way to prevent these conflicts.

yes, we've done so relatively successfully but "ne'er the twain shall meet"!
We've encapsulated all access to MFC in a separate DLL.
As per normal with an MFC based DLL you have to restore access to the MFC module globals
using
AFX_MANAGE_STATE( AfxGetStaticModuleState() );
I don't think there's any other "magic" that you need to take account of.

Remote Delta link setup problem with Bean / Access Service

I am trying to setup Remote Delta Link (RDL) between two portals. (Both portals same version - EP 7.0 EHP1 SP 05 - are in the same domain)
I already have the Remote Role Assignment working without any issues.
The following have been done successfully:
1. Same user repository has been setup for both the portals
2. Setup trust between producer and consumer (SSO working fine)
3. Producer added and registered succesfully on consumer
4. Permissions setup on producer and consumer
4. pcd_service user with required UME actions setup
I am able to see all the remote content in the Consumer portal.
When I try to copy the remote content and paste it as local content, I am getting the following error:
Could not create remote delta link to object 'page id'. Could not connect to the remote portal. The remote portal may be down, there may be a network problem, or your connection settings to the remote portal may be configured incorrectly.
After increasing the log severity, I am able to see the following in Default Trace:

Like you can see above, there is some bean / access service which is not retrieved successfully. I am not sure if this is a permission problem on the consumer.
I have checked that the P4 ports are configured correctly (standard - not changed) and I am able to telnet from producer to consumer (and vice versa) on the P4 port.
I am stuck at this point and am not able to find any information on this.
I would really appreciate if some one can point me in the right direction.

Hi Raj,
Please check your config of the P4 port on the producer. Is it really 50004 (check SystemInfo of the producer)?
I do think there's a problem with the P4 communication since RDL requires P4 connection.
Do you have load balanced consumer-producer connection? Please refer to this blog for further details

Is anyone else having a problem with a "no service" issue on the iPhone 5?

There are times my phone will go to "No Service" when the signal is low. I just got the iPhone 5. I did not have this problem with my 4. It doesn't say "searching..." it just automatically says "No Service" for a few seconds and then back to having bars. It comes and goes. I had my phone replaced at the Genius Bar and still have this problem. Is anyone else also having this problem? I hope it's just a software issue they will solve with an iOS update.

I have this problem all the time. when i get back home from a overseas trip (about 3-4 times a month) I have to turn airplane mode of and on a few times to get rid of the "No Service" message.

Problem with enabling Web Services on LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw

I have a problem with enabling the HP Web Services. When I push the application button on the printer, the monitor shows "connecting..." and then nothing is happen or an error apear thet my device could not connect to servers. I can't print information sheet on web services panel to get the claim code and add my device in www.hpconnected.com . My device is connected to the internet with no problem by a wireless Dlink Router. I also changed my device IP from 192.168.1.11 to 192.168.1.55 manually, and I change Preferred DNS Address to 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS Address to 8.8.4.4 and nothings happen. I can see the menu but I can not enable the HP Web Services in there. no proxy. no firewall. I do not know what can I do for solveing this problem. Please help me.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you are getting a connection error message when trying to enable the web services for your Laserjet Pro M172fw printer.
