Indesign CS6 won't activate without Creative Cloud

I have a hard copy of the Adobe Creative suite CS6 Design & Web Premium set, which I purchased and installed on to my computer. All of the products seem to work except for Indesign, which for some reason won't open for me until I renew my Creative Cloud subscription. I don't want Creative Cloud. I don't need it. I have the programs - I bought them - so I expect to be allowed to use them. None of the other Adobe programs are doing this; only Indesign. Why is this going on????

I can't open it. Every time I try, an Adobe window pops up saying:
RENEW YOUR SUBSCRIPTION
Go to the Subscription Manager to renew your subscription for Creative Cloud and continue using your product uninterrupted. If you have just renewed your subscription, wait 15 minutes and try again.
I have the option to press "close" or "try again". "Try again" does nothing, and "close" quits it altogether. Adobe is not letting me access InDesign AT ALL.

  • Encore won't activate under Creative Cloud

    I installed Creative Cloud trial (Mac Mountain Lion) and after 30 days upgraded to paid subscription. Premiere works fine and I have completed a project. Now I urgently need to burn to DVD, but Encore keeps asking for a serial no. Of course, there is not one; and Encore is not available as a standalone download from CC. There is even some confusion as to whether Encore is included in CC, and Adobe does not make this massively clear, but it definitely is.
    Many people report this problem but there doesn't seem to be a standard solution. Adobe themselves have not posted a useful answer that I can find. Adobe need to sort this out, we are all paying for the program and should get proper help when it does not work. We should not have to hunt around on the internet for random answers from other users when we are paying handsomely for a professional product.
    Haven't tried anything yet - in my opinion Adobe should contact me and tell me what to do, or sort it out their end.
    But it seems uninstalling Premiere & Encore (not sure how to do  that) then re-downloading from CC might work - anyone have any success with that? Adobe?????

    To anyone else on a Mac with the urgent problem of needing to burn a DVD from a non-functioning Encore, the options seem to be:
    1) Use an old copy of iDVD. While undergoing all this discussion with Adobe I was able to burn my urgent dvd from a .mov file using iDVD, it was so easy it took 15 mins - I didn't even need to read any instructions and it works fine. I was lucky that I had an old copy, iDVD doesn't come free with newer Macs.
    2) If you're desperate and don't have iDVD  there's a free tool called Burn and a paid one called Wondershare DVD Creator for Mac ... both apparently work under Mountain Lion.
    Shouldn't be needing to recommend non-Adobe apps on an Adobe forum but there you go.

  • CS6 without Creative Cloud?

    Is it still possible to get CS6 without Creative Cloud?  I have CS4 and was going to upgrade to CS6, but then it changed to a subscription basis.  As a nonprofessional, passionate hobbyist who gets no income from his photography I can't afford to pay the monthly costs of CS6 Creative Cloud.  Or will I have to switch a competing photo program, which admittedly won't be as good?

  • Can't Activate my Creative Cloud Subscription -- SERIOUS HELP NEEDED!!!

    For the past 3 weeks, I've been trying to activate my Creative Cloud subscription (placed my Creative Cloud order on 12/29/12).  Like others, it appears that I’m trapped in perpetual "trial mode" status.  When I try to activate my subscription -- I click the “register product” button…sign into my Adobe ID account…and receive a prompt to enter a serial number.  Every time.  I’ve litterally read every post/link/tutorial/troubleshooting selfhelp in this forum and on the Adobe FAQ pages - with great attention, might I add - but nothing seems to work.
    I've spent hours upon hours on the phone/live chat w/ Adobe reps trying to resolve this issue.  I've opened no less than 10 support cases.  EVERY SINGLE TIME that I try to activate my Creative Cloud membership, an Adobe rep feeds me the "I'll be sure to escalate this issue to the next level of support" line.  Likewise, Adobe support reps stated numerous times, that personnel from Adobe would contact me within 24 hours of my call to resolve the issue.  However, they’ve yet to follow through with this claim.  (Surprise)
    Adobe should be ashamed by the egregious performance of their "technical support team.”  If Adobe won't fix the software, which they've already charged me for, then they've left me w/ little choice but to cancel my order before the initial 30 day period is up.  Enough is enough.
    With that being said, Adobe, the following describes this dismal experience:
    I bought a subscription of Creative Cloud on 12/29/12 (somehow I ended up w/ the Multi Language edition of Creative Cloud- yes I've fiddled w/ the language settings in the app manager.  Doesn't work.)
    I received an order verification email from Adobe for my purchase, however, the order was never listed under the "my recent order" section of my Adobe ID
    Despite telling Adobe support that I only had one Adobe ID, they insisted that my order was showing up in their system, of which, was accessible by logging into my alternative Adobe ID (this didn’t exist because I only have one Adobe ID).
    Eventually, Adobe determined that a system error occurred on their side while processing the transaction, and fixed this initial issue.
    After this was resolved, I was able to login to my Adobe ID account and actually see my Creative Cloud membership order when viewing “my recent transactions.”
    After all of that, I'm facing my 2nd major issue w/ this program: the inability to activate my subscription.  As previously stated, I've tried everything to fix this issue.  I'm thinking that the initial problem w/ placing the order resulted in defective software.  Also, I’m not sure if this info is relevant, but I purchased the multiple language edition of Creative Cloud (somehow).  I live in the US, speak English, and am running OS X 10.8.2.
    Someone from Adobe, please look into this issue and help me.  I’ll be glad to provide any other relevant info that you may need.

    Had the exact same problem, just got it fixed. The solution is quite fast. Navigate to the hosts file. On a pc it's in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc folder, locate the file named 'Hosts' inside the etc folder. Open it with notepad. Delete everything underneath

    Save. Open the application manager again, click "License this product" and sign in. It should work, now.

  • InDesign CS6 won't package fonts or package anything after installing OSx mavericks - Client is waiting

    Pre-Mavericks I had zero problems packaging my INDD files in Adobe InDesign CS6 with all fonts and links intact. Now, when I go to package the same files I successfully packaged last year under Lion, InDesign tells me the fonts can't be packaged (and doesn't package anything else either). My client is becoming very frustrated so I would really appreciate some help from Adobe in solving this problem as soon as possible.

    Which fonts are affected? - I'm assuming all of the fonts are affected since no fonts are able to be packaged.
    Are all used fonts installed? - Yes
    Did you have your fonts in a Document Fonts folder beside your old file and saved your new document on a different place? - Before I upgraded to Mavericks I was able to package everything for this exact same file so I do have fonts in the packaged folder (referring to my 2013 file) so even though the fonts aren't in a Documents folder (they are inside the package "Fonts" folder) so I think the answer to your question is yes.
    Does your font folder have the same permession as the folder before? - I believe so because I never changed the permissions for the fonts
    Do you use CS6 as part of the Creative Cloud and are you using TypeKit fonts? Or are you using the boxed version? - I am trying to avoid using Creative Cloud since I already have CS6 that I have already paid for. What I am reading on the internet, however, is that Adobe is forcing people to move over to CC when they upgrade to Mavericks due to problems like I am having now. I am not sure if this is true/untrue but I am definitely concerned. I can not afford right now to start paying a monthly fee (especially after I have already paid for CS6). I am using a boxed version of CS6 and I am not using TypeKit fonts.

I've tried restarting, rebooting, resetting my InDesign preferences and re-unzipping the original zip file. I can still open previously worked on files, though.     That sounds like you have the resource fork for a Mac-generated .indd file. Check to see if there is another file with the same name but a real file size in the zip archive. I suspect the "real" file (the data fork) is being unzipped first, then the resource fork is overwriting without warning and you could solve it by extract9ng the files manually.

    The meant photoshop update not the iOS update.
    I have tried to sync with a free 2gb account today and this works fine with my iPhone version of photoshop touch at least.
    What I am more confused about is that I cleared out my 20gb space to see if it was large files or a file type that was causing the issue. But even with a completely empty creative cloud account photoshop touch didn’t sync?
    Which suggests to me that the issue is with my 20gb storage space?
    I manually moved my photoshop touch files a few months ago. I haven’t used photoshop touch since really because the issue.
    Come to think of it the issues started around the same time as I started using the creative cloud connection on my macbook.

    I have had the same problem. Each of the panels (pages, layers etc.) would not work with the mouse/pointer... if I clicked in a panel, I could tab/shift tab through each component in the panel, use the arrow keys to make changes, but the mouse/pointer was not active.
    After extreme frustration... The following appears to solve the issue.
    Solution: Open Indesign CS6, set up screen positions for the panels as required, save the workspace (Window/Workspace/New Workspace...).
    Sorry... this appeared to worked... but I have dicovered that it only works for a short period then this problem seems to rear it ugly head again and all panels are intermitent in their responsiveness. Currently I have tried re-start... doesn't seem to change the problem, a shutdown and startup resets everything but the problem soon appears again. I'm searching for a solution... anyone?
