You might ask in InDesign to learn how to install plugins

What IS your operating system, and which exact version?
Is the link below where you are starting for upgrades?

Indesign CS6 won't load on my right hand monitor

Joining the discussion... [running CS6 on Windows8; dual screen 23"; 1920 x 1080 (NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT card; DVI, HDMI)]
I have had the same problem. Each of the panels (pages, layers etc.) would not work with the mouse/pointer... if I clicked in a panel, I could tab/shift tab through each component in the panel, use the arrow keys to make changes, but the mouse/pointer was not active.
After extreme frustration... The following appears to solve the issue.
Solution: Open Indesign CS6, set up screen positions for the panels as required, save the workspace (Window/Workspace/New Workspace...).
Sorry... this appeared to worked... but I have dicovered that it only works for a short period then this problem seems to rear it ugly head again and all panels are intermitent in their responsiveness. Currently I have tried re-start... doesn't seem to change the problem, a shutdown and startup resets everything but the problem soon appears again. I'm searching for a solution... anyone?

  • Error message Photoshop CS6 won't start in Windows 7

I am unable to start Photoshop in Windows 7 (64 bit Home Premium). I gegt an error message saying Photoshop CS6 won't start and telling me to close the program. Is this a common problem and is there a solution? I have tried opening the program in safe mode and tried a clean boot all without success.

  • InDesign CS6 won't open files

InDesign CS6 won't open some files. No error message, simply returns to previous 'Open...' view. I've tried restarting, rebooting, resetting my InDesign preferences and re-unzipping the original zip file. I can still open previously worked on files, though. (Even in the second folder of unzipped files, it's the same files that I can and cannot open.) Any ideas? InDesign

Ooh – I just had another look to check that they are CS6 files. The are, but each file size is 0 bytes – think that may be the problem! Thanks again both for responding so quickly. :-)
That sounds like you have the resource fork for a Mac-generated .indd file. Check to see if there is another file with the same name but a real file size in the zip archive. I suspect the "real" file (the data fork) is being unzipped first, then the resource fork is overwriting without warning and you could solve it by extract9ng the files manually.

  • Cs6 won't start, trial version opens instead of real version

after re-installing my system from time machine cs6 won't start, instead the trial version opens. Serial number is not accepted. What to do?

    Hi
I followed your instructions and un-installed CS6. By installing from cd i'll got the message that my serialnumber is invalid. It is the same serial number as shown in my adobe and on the receipt. What to do?

    Hi MFGTG,
    1. I would advise you to please go to
    2. Applicatoins>utilities>Adobe Installers
    3. Try to find if there is any uninstaller for the CS6.
    4. If you find the uninstaller then simply uninstall the application and then reinstall it.
    Thanks
    Kapil

  • Indesign CS6 won't install on Windows 7 64bit via GPO

    Good afternoon,
I created a installation of Indesign CS6 with application manager enterprise 3 to deploy to computers via the active directory.
It installs correctly without issue to Windows XP x86 machines however won't install to Windows 7 x64 machines.
When the computers starts it trys to install but fails and proceeds to the login screen.  The following information is left in the Windows event log.
Has anyone else had this problem and more importantly know how to solve it?

    Hi Abhijit,
I am able to install InDesign CS6 manually on the machines from the CD/DVD however when trying to install it via GPO or running the msi using the msi exec commands it doesn't install and leaves the above errors in the event log.
The installation was made using the same CD/DVD and the installation works on the Windows XP clients and software other than InDesign CS6 will install to the Win 7 64-bit machines via GPO.
    Cheers,

  • InDesign CS6 won't package fonts or package anything after installing OSx mavericks - Client is waiting

Pre-Mavericks I had zero problems packaging my INDD files in Adobe InDesign CS6 with all fonts and links intact. Now, when I go to package the same files I successfully packaged last year under Lion, InDesign tells me the fonts can't be packaged (and doesn't package anything else either). My client is becoming very frustrated so I would really appreciate some help from Adobe in solving this problem as soon as possible.

    Thank you Willi for responding.
Which fonts are affected? - I'm assuming all of the fonts are affected since no fonts are able to be packaged.
Are all used fonts installed? - Yes
Did you have your fonts in a Document Fonts folder beside your old file and saved your new document on a different place? - Before I upgraded to Mavericks I was able to package everything for this exact same file so I do have fonts in the packaged folder (referring to my 2013 file) so even though the fonts aren't in a Documents folder (they are inside the package "Fonts" folder) so I think the answer to your question is yes.
Does your font folder have the same permession as the folder before? - I believe so because I never changed the permissions for the fonts
Do you use CS6 as part of the Creative Cloud and are you using TypeKit fonts? Or are you using the boxed version? - I am trying to avoid using Creative Cloud since I already have CS6 that I have already paid for. What I am reading on the internet, however, is that Adobe is forcing people to move over to CC when they upgrade to Mavericks due to problems like I am having now. I am not sure if this is true/untrue but I am definitely concerned. I can not afford right now to start paying a monthly fee (especially after I have already paid for CS6). I am using a boxed version of CS6 and I am not using TypeKit fonts.

  • InDesign CS6 won't export to server...Help!

I'm having a problem exporting jpegs, pngs, PDF's, etc. to my server at work. It will only allow me to export them to my desktop. AT first I thought it was a problem with perhaps our server at work and the new InDesign CS6 (since we just upgraded from CS3), but now i'm starting to think that it could be a permissions issue with my personal network account. I am also unable to open any files from the list in the 'Open a Recent Document' window that pops up when first launching InDesign.
Is this something that someone knows anything about or can help with? Our IT department is stuggling to figure this out and it's slowing down my work flow.
    Thanks in advance!
    Whitney

Well, I need to be logged into my personal network account in order to access any of my files/settings/and just at all times. I can't be working off a random user account. Any other suggestions?

  • Indesign CS6 won't open after Photoshop CS6.

Indesign was working like a charm, then I had to install Photoshop which installed without error, since then whenever i launch indesign the splash screen comes up and gets as far as "setting up service registry" and then just disapears. It works with other users on the PC and I have tried creating a new profile for the user without any joy.
The following error is in the event log:

Its running on windows 7 64bit.
    Any help would be appreciated.

The program has been uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem is still there. I was considering running the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, and reinstalling, However from the documentation it looks as though it is for installation issue? Would it be of any help or is there a better tool to use to remove all traces of indesign from the PC/Registry? so i can reinstall?
As This issue was caused by installing photoshop is there any mileage with uninstalling both then reinstalling them?

  • InDesign CS6 Test: LBQ start hangs on OSGI prompt

    Hi folks,
I installed an InDesign CS6 test server with four instances, configured for LBQ as written in the docs. The server starts flawlessly, The ior?.txt are written correctly. Then I start clover.cmd and get a console with the message "Listening for transport dt_socket at address: 8787" and an osgi prompt. Nothing more.
Some time ago I already installed an InDesign CS6 server on a different machine, using exactly the same procedures, and everything worked, including LBQ. After the osgi prompt, obviously an embedded tomcat was started, listening on port 8080. Why is this now different, and no tomcat appears?
I am logged in as administrator, so access rights shouldn't be a problem. System is a MS Windows server 2008 R2 on a virtual box.
    Any hints or helpful comments?
    Regards,
    RR.

One of our CS5 users is having a similar problem when using InDesign.  I have deleted the prefrences twice, and it continues to run very slow, or freezes up on her sometimes. She is running Mac OS X 10.6.8, 4 quadpro Xeon 2.9 Ghz, 8 Gb of ram. So i believe she more then meets the Minimum requirements.  We believe the problem mainly exist while running InDesign, but for us it is hit or miss. We have ran disk premission cleanup and disk check so we do not believe it is system related.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  My last resort is to attempt a reinstall and see if that works.
    Thanks for any help.
